Diego Dalot got his first minutes for Manchester United U-23s this evening in the 1-0 win over Stoke, courtesy of an excellent goal from Angel Gomes.
After the game, which was played at Old Trafford, Dalot talked about how he felt to make his first after an injury that has kept him out of action for several months.
It was nice. The atmosphere was good. I can imagine if the stadium is full. I’m very happy to come back. It’s a special night, getting my first minutes after four long months. I’m really happy. It’s a really special moment for me. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the amazing medical staff and the coach who has believed since me since day one.
I always had it on my mind to be calm and take it step by step. It wasn’t too bad of an injury but it required some patience. Now I’m here, I’m ready to play whenever the coach things I’m ready.
Dalot has claimed that he is settling in well and is getting used to life at United.
It’s good. Knowing the city, the facilities at the club, I’m enjoying it so much. I’m looking forward to having great things here.
