david-de-gea-victor-valdes-man-utd-manchester-united-roy-hodgson_3334609Having failed to put in an offer for David de Gea all summer, Real Madrid have chosen today to start negotiations to sign the goalkeeper, with the deadline falling at 11pm tonight in Spain.

Anders Lindegaard is set to sign for West Brom, while Victor Valdes is likely to leave after falling out with Louis van Gaal, despite a transfer to Besiktas falling through.

If De Gea’s transfer does go through, as is expected, United will be left with Sergio Romero and Sam Johnstone. All in all, this is fairly disastrous for the club.

De Gea is currently in Madrid with the Spanish national team.
