David de Gea was named the Sir Matt Busby played of the year this evening and was full of praise for the supporters.

“It’s difficult to say something now,” he said. “To win this trophy three years in a row is amazing and I’m really happy. It’s an honour to receive it again. I want to thank everyone. We have the best fans in the world, thank you to everyone. Everyone in the dressing room is important and now we have something important to win win at Wembley. We have a few games to play to finish in the top four too.”

De Gea is the first player to win the trophy three times in a row.

“I cannot believe it, it’s amazing to win it three times in a row. I want to say thank you to everyone. We’ll keep fighting.”
