Couldn’t have been much better could it? How do you post so quick Scott? Jeez man you’re a genius!
since now scot has put the scousers defeat up I will repat my post
does anyone else agree that I saw one of the most grim games I have seen in a while, I am really not happy what I saw it has really pissed me off only the result and 120 minutes liverpool played tonight made up for that dross, nothing to do with everton what they are doing is insane, but liverpool have got to be the most one dimensional side I have ever seen in ages, I will be really upset if we finish below this crap, liverpool will go down in premiership history has the worse side ever to win the premiership if they do. it is like the old wimbledon or bolton winning it.
I have to say it was a brilliant move and shot by the youngster. In Greece we have a saying for that:he put the ball through the eye of the needle. It was brilliant. They played a replay from which they gained nothing and lost Steven Gerrard. If it is hamstring trouble he could be out for up to 3 weeks.Of course he won’t miss the game at Old Traffod but he might miss the Champion’s League.Funny eh?Liverpool have 2 trophies to aim for whilst United(for all of last season’s excersions) have already won two and are aiming for 4 more! Finally,i realise that Robbie Keane wasn’t the best of buys and in these day and age,it’s imperative to cut your losses but has the waiter realized that after Torres he has no one?Or is “Mr Ferguson” also to blame for that?
Brilliant! what more can one say?
Won’t be able to sleep tonight as Robbie Keane’s laughing will keep me awake.
Wouldn’t it be funny as fuck if he scored the winner in the last minute in the last game of the dippers league season at Anfield against Spurs.
If you’ve stopped laughong, which I doubt; have a look at this:

Can life get any better?
not bothered 2bh, would av liked to play them at some point. didn’t watch it. but i believe coverage cut to adverts when the goal was scored, i remember listerning to tha radio after the draw and alot of scousers wanted united in the next round, shame they didn’t make it that far.
hahaha
The “efachts”
Liverpool 0 Everton 1
Gerrard the savior of the scouse house injured
Torres bloody tired after scoring two goals against Chelsea
Lucas sent off
Attacking midfielder Riera substituted off for the worlds best defensive midfielder – Mascherano : ) ? : O
David Ngog isn’t the new Trezeguet – but where was he?
Dirk Kuyt is a 70′s pornstar reinvented as a run up the pitch and run down the pitch midfielder by Rafa (apparently he used to score goals like Ruud Van Nistelrooy – The shock of it me tells ya!)
Carragher was in Evertons face all night long but forgot about an 18 year old kid called Gosling : )
Oh and the best one – Robbie Keane – Class Fit (in the athletic sense – do behave!) striker gone from Anfield for good! – (he wasn’t Spanish enough for Rafa)
Benitez a tactician? Yeah right – pull the other one : )
In Sir Alex we really do trust – end of
I’ve said it once and i’ll it again how the fuck are an average side like the rat eaters with no plan b, just behind us?
Bit annoyed that they won’t have cup games now, it’s so shit that Liverpool can only focus on one trophy at a time leaving us with all the hard work, I know i’d rather have it our way but Chelsea and Arsenal were the only teams that gave us a run for our money, Liverpool are in for one of three trophies and that’s it, so lame.
And if Real knock them out they could be focusing on one trophy. But then again,Inter are no walk in the park.
What a boring match that was. At least it was funny in the end
Liverpool were thrilled with the win against Chelsea, but I was a firm believer that the most important game of their season was going to be against Portsmouth at Fratton Park. Yeah, it is great and all that Liverpool beat Chelsea, but if they drop points at Fratton Park the win means nothing.
This loss further ratifies that position. I actually believe that it maginifies that position now. Portsmouth have not won a game since November. They are not going to go the rest of the season without a win. Furthermore, even if Portsmouth doesn’t win, I still back them for a draw. When that happens, I think that Liverpool’s is over if we can win at Upton Park.
Glad to see Liverpool lose. I am glad to see the loss require them play 120 minutes and I am glad to see that it might have cost them Gerrard. That may be cynical, but I want their season to end as soon as possible just eliminate any possible good feelings they might have.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – UTD will finish AT LEAST 10 points ahead of this mob of incompetents masquerading as a football team.
To think that a lot of people actually believe that ‘Pool are good enough to win the title is beyond me. With SG out for possibly 3/4 weeks, I can’t see them winning a game in that time. Benitez must be skating on thin ice – but if he goes who would want the job – with no money in the bank.
To be fair,United seemed to be running on empty themselves against Everton.Sunday’s game is very crucial.Personally i don’t believe Gerrard’s absence is the giant blow the newspapers are making out to be.They beat us without Gerrard or Torres. For me the real engine in their midfield is Alonso.
ahhhh that’s brilliant that is David Moyes is without a doubt the second best manager in the league.
brilliant….Another year where the other top 4 teams wont win crud.
hahaha Get innnnn !!!
Liverpool play Hoofball, not football.
Ella Costas! You are the man! Your first comment had me in stitches! We too have the eye of the needle expression and what an eye it was!
The dippers have no width & no reinforcements! I think the Man from La Tasca rushed Torres back and has put all his eggs in one basket!
We were running on empty but our turbo boost is kicking in at the right time!
We have more width than you can shake a stick at in Nani’s return & Tosic’s arrival to add to our burgeoning attack. With a hungry Rooney & an absolute Rudebuoye in Evra coming back we will soon be firing on all cylinders!!
And all this means COMPETITION… for places/training/mentality…
The one thing Chlscum, Liverfool and Arsewank all lack in pretty much every department!! Hoorah!
no he’s not costas, that’s attempted intelligent media-speak trying to correlate liverpool’s poor form about a month ago to Alonso’s absence…it’s bollocks, Liverpool’s luck of scraping those final 15 minute wins earlier in the season has simply just run out because that’s the nature of a 38 game season, just like Hull’s has (plenty of teams have been riding high in December to fall away rapidly afterwards).. Alonso is as average as he was last summer when they were trying to off-load him to anybody with £12 million spare…I’ve never seen a so-called lynchpin give away the ball as many times as him…I’ve watched Liverpool enough times over the last two or three weeks and he’s diabolical…The result against us was because we played berbatov (signed two days before), tevez, rooney and ronaldo together away from home and didn’t flood the midfield to combat Liverpool…and as everyone knows once you have lost the middle of the pitch in those big games, you’ve effectively put the nail in your own coffin…it was a tactical mistake by Fergie and funnily enough he’s refused (even when they were all fit) to play that formation again (even though I think it would help us break down more defensive teams at home where the midfield battle is more easily won)…Gerrard is the key to Liverpool, he has been for years…dragging their various also-ran teams to trophies and 4th place every year…it’s a massive loss if he’s out for a few weeks, we could get beat on sunday and still win the title because every other possible challenger is simply not up to the standard of sustaining title-winning form….oh and Scott you missed out Benitez’s interview which was like the icing on the cake complaining that ‘bad people tell him to play Gerrard all the time and look what happens’….there’s leadership for you, absolutely priceless
WTF didn”t see that, fsw = clueless wanker. dippers av chance to go top for a day, pressure will probably crack rafa up and a draw against pompy(who do seem to dao well against top clubs at how) playing 4-5-1 on a narrow pitch, i aint no football genius but surely anyone can see the logic of playin 4-3-3 on narrow pitchs, but oh yer rafa aint got 3 strikers hahahahaha. fsw, fancy a couple of good results at west ham and home to fulham and we could be 7 clear,
We’ll keep the red flag flyin high
I’m still undecided about what I enjoyed more – watching StevieGBH limp off or Goslings’ goal.
Am I the only one who was kinda disappointed that someone else had the pleasure of knocking them out? Man…after the anfield loss, and really, not just the loss but the nature of our pathetic performance/effort/shit luck, I was furious and wanted revenge on them as many times as possible. I won’t be satisfied with just stuffing them at OT in a short while, I wanted to get them in the Carling Cup, FA cup and hell, I’ll even take a Champions League knockout round which is all I have left to hope for. Yeah the nerves will be intense in such a scenario but I am so confident that result earlier was a one off and they could’nt come close to getting that again.
Oh well, I guess I will just have to settle for trophies instead of small glories. Big ups Everton
And oh yeah, I for one don’t believe SG is hurt that badly at all. I think he pretends to have this strain, he misses the Pompey game which Rafa takes as a calculated risk, but THEN the smarts of the idea come out and he just HAS to be left out of the midweek England match. Then I bet my bottom dollar he starts their next match and is fit for the entire run in….
But maybe I’m high. Who knows
Drew Vader is right. The way Pompey are at the moment,Liverpool can get the result without Gerrard.I think that Rafa is up to his usual tricks(just like Chelsea do with their players) in order for his players to avoid the England game.Jake you forget that Ronaldo didn’t play at Anfield. We played with 3 strikers and 3 midfielders. It wasn’t so much the formation. It was that United were still finding their feet and that after the early lead we underestimated the dippers. It won’t happen on March the 14th though.
I love fat rafa’s calculated risks, they usually end up benefitting United. so if Stevie Me misses saturday and they drop points then i’m happy with that, if he’s out for longer then all the better because without him they’re third rate shite.
Cheers for the clip Scott. Rafa’s post-match interview was worth watching – he looked absolutely distraught. Have that you fat wanker!
Seems a good time to share this with you all……
A Primary Teacher explains to her class that she is a Liverpool fan.
She asks her students to raise their hands if they too are Liverpool fans.
Everyone in the class raises their hand except one little girl.
The teacher looks at the girl with surprise and says, ‘Mary, why didn’t you raise your hand?’
‘Because I’m not a Liverpool fan,’ she replied.
The teacher, still shocked, asked, ‘Well, if you are not a Liverpool fan, then who are you a fan of?’
‘I am a Man Utd fan, and proud of it ,’ Mary replied.
The teacher could not believe her ears. ‘Mary, why, pray tell, are you a Man Utd fan?’
‘Because my mum is a Man Utd fan, and my dad is a Man Utd fan, so I’m a Man Utd fan too!’
‘Well,’ said the teacher in an obviously annoyed tone, ‘that is no reason for you to be a Man Utd fan.
You don’t have to be just like your parents all of the time What if your mum was a prostitute and your dad was a drug addict, what would you be then?’
“A Liverpool fan” said Mary.
It won’t be easy for dippers at Fratton especially on that narrow pitch. On his day Alonso is a pretty good player but like Jake says far from this “lynchpin” the media and all the rat eaters claim he is. Take Stevie Me out of that team and they are fuckin average. Torres at the moment must have the worst first touch in the prem. Furthermore I see their murdering fans behaved in their usual exemplary manner. Cunts. United all the way.
well-corrected on ronaldo costas…wasn’t sure about Ronaldo but i remembered it was a stupid formation though for playing at anfield and that he hasn’t tried it again, I just mistakenly super-imposed Ronaldo into it but you can’t play 3 strikers away from home at Liverpool, it was untested and a gamble that clearly didn’t pay off because we got outgunned in the central third of the pitch 4 vs 3 as tevez and rooney are not effective attacking right and left midfielders against goodish teams away from home and we got dominated in the middle which I remember distinctly enough…and still my point stands that alonso has little to do with Liverpool’s form, they went on a good run at the start of the season and as I remember getting victories in the last 10/15 mins time after time even when they were getting outplayed all over the pitch…that luck has run out because that’s what happens in a season…Gerrard and Torres will probably keep them in a champs. league place but no Gerrard for a few weeks = Liverpool with no ideas for a few weeks = no effective title challenge…but then again he might not be injured which means they could sustain some discernible form until about March if they’re lucky…Rafa’s trick seems a bit silly if that’s what it was because surely you would pull it at the end of the Portsmouth game?…not lose your star man prior to the away game that you need to win to maintain any semblance of a title challenge?….it clearly wasn’t a trick… and we could get beat the next two games in a row and still win this Premiership, it’s not been this one-sided for years, chelsea don’t care, arsenal too far behind and average and Liverpool just average…bring on the champs league, the retention of it will be a proper challenge and I can’t wait for Inter…
“you can’t play 3 strikers away from home at Liverpool, it was untested and a gamble that clearly didn’t pay off because we got outgunned in the central third of the pitch 4 vs 3 as tevez and rooney are not effective attacking right and left midfielders against goodish teams away from home and we got dominated in the middle which I remember distinctly enough”
The only reason the gamble ‘didn’t pay off ‘ was because Carrick was forced off through injury.
The MOTD crew were wanking themselves silly over Liverpool’s ‘pressure’ when they weren’t in possession – the fact is that while Carrick was on the pitch they were wasting their time and energy on lost causes because United passes were being comfortably completed. Once Carrick went off and our passing went astray, their pressure actually counted for something.
Is it just coincidence that while Carrick was on we dominated possession? Is it a coincidence that Liverpool barely had a sniff at goal until he went off? Is it any coincidence that we (using a midfield of Scholesy, Anderson and Giggsy) got pushed further and further back in the second half without him? No, no and no.
SAF has bottled playing that formation again since for two reasons: one is the return of Ronaldo and the second is the trend for him to can a good idea if it ‘fails’ in a big match.
points well made Eaststand but it still doesn’t deny that we got dominated in the middle for most of the match…I agree about ‘Ferguson’s trend’ and think we should be playing them all against the likes of everton at home etc to break them down as I said in the first post..my argument is alonso is neither here nor there which is the original point I was making as Costas said that without Gerrard and Torres we got hammered in that game, therefore alonso is the key which I don’t think he is and that this sunday is crucial which it isn’t, never has a game been less crucial… but I accept I may have got carried away in hyperbole in my attempts to discredit that notion…you’re probably right about carrick but that doesn’t deny some serious alterations should have been made when he went off but i guess that was asking for something a little bit too bold…and as for Ronaldo coming back scuppering the attacking option I think we should play ron on the right, carrick and fletcher, tevez and rooney alternating on the left with berba up front with one of the other two at home against more defensive teams as I keep on saying but that Fergie has bottled anything quite so daring since Liverpool away (which we can agree on and I’ve rambled on about many times on here before)….but i can see your point that Fergie feels ron, berba and Rooney suffices for attacking options which it sounds like we can agree it sometimes doesn’t unless Carrick starts to bomb forward more as he has been doing recently
Fair do’s Jake, I can see where you’re coming from on that and we’re agreed on the SAF trend.
BTW – just been confirmed on the Beeb – Stevie G(BH) is out for 3 weeks.
Well here goes for my first ever post on ROM. Which by the way is the best website for the greatest team in the world (but you all know that anyway) Great work Scott.
I work in an office 10 miles from liverpool and im surrounded by reds and blues. The blues arent too bad, they tend to side with me on most things apart from last weekend. They’re harmless really but its the bin dippin kop-ite gob-shites that get on my tits. Last night was just priceless and all of Rafa’s rants and fuck ups have come good!! Not a single red shirt anywhere today and just the noise of rocks slamming down after they all crawl back under them. I hope & dream we sweep the board trophy wise this season & equal their title record. Shut them right up.
Anyway while watching the match I heard that song (fuck off to Kirby, this citys all ours) and it got me thinking about a chant we can sing for them on March 14th:
This countrys all ours
This countrys all ours
Fuck off to Norway
This countrys all ours
Then the 2nd verse changes
Europes all ours
Europes all ours
Fuck off to China
Coz Europes all ours
And then even better for the 3rd verse
The world is all ours
The world is all ours
Fuck off this planet
Coz its fuckin OURS!!!
Champions of England, Champions of Europe & Champions of the World.
So what do you all think?
Portsmouth away next for the scousers, can’t really see them take three points there without their precious captain..
Liverpool should be fined for the disgraceful behaviour of their fans, throwing objects onto the pitch
and did anybody hear the “Who the fuckin heel are you?” chants aimed at Gosling when he came on? As soon as I heard that, I had a feeling he would score. We should sing that to our subs, might make them have an impact!
