17-year-old Brazilian teenager, Dodo, has claimed that he will be signing for Manchester United in the summer, with reports suggesting he would cost £5 million.
Reports in Sao Paulo today suggest the defender will first come on loan from Corinthians before the deal is made permanent.
If he was to join, he would be linking up with the Brazilians we already have at the club, Anderson, Rafael, Fabio and Possebon.
“Every player dreams to play in the national team and then be transferred to a European team,” Dodo said. “I am doing that. Next year I will join the first team of Manchester United. I am going to play next to the best players of the world. As there are already some Brazilians over there I think that will make it easy to adapt. It’ll be a great experience. I have never played with the twins Fabio and Rafael, neither with Anderson, but it’s good for me to have them near. Even Cristiano Ronaldo as he speaks in Portuguese. The way in which I play is the typical Brazilian style, with technique and ability. I also get identified with European style so that mixture can be something very good for me.”
How long before the ‘RED as a Dodo’ headlines appear?

Man Utd News 24/7

uh, what position does he play? just hope he isn’t another striker (though one gentleman at our club says you can never have enough of ‘em).
We already have 18 year old Welbeck, 17 year old Kiko, Frazier Campbell is still awaiting a chance. considering Rooney is still 23, we are in danger of a surplus!
if i am not wrong he is a defender, a CB.we definitely need Dodo as cover.
We also have Berbatov.
Being half Mauritian I for one advocate his signing, Lets just hope this Brazilian Dodo’s fate doesn’t befall that of the last remaining Dodo which died in England after being treated somewhat shabbily by it’s owners.
Wazza: if thats true, i think it would be a great move. both our cbs are over 25, and Evans is our only young quality cb apart from them.
Whats the news on the bloke we bought from stoke (or was it wba?)
Dodo (weird name?!) would be a very welcome addition!
Stephen: he’s already 28 so i don’t think he is ever going to block the way for our teen strikers mate. i see welbeck taking over from him in 4 years’ time.
He is obviously a defender, so welcome to England
Berbatov lol we should sell him!!!
Give Berbatov another season before we begin to make assumptions on him.
Same goes for Nani. We had to give Ronaldo a few seasons before he became his worth.
He seems to have a very high opinion of himself going straight into the first team and what have ya.
hes a brilliant little striker..(check the dodo video in the above article)
depdep???
he is a defender mate, a centreback
Jose Rodolfo Pires Ribeiro Dodo.
i am slightly confused

this is a picture of dodo according to other sources i have found, where is he in that video?
Dodo is definitely a defender but that video shows him as a striker with great skills & finishing.i am confused guys
A good young CB with great skills and finishing wouldn’t be a bad player to have.
there is another dodo thats is a striker, he is 34 and banned for taking drugs not that long ago

I for one would not mind if we end up having most of the future Brazillian World Cup winning team playing for us ! Sign em up now
Don’t know where all this came from but he is definitely only 17/18 and a defender. Perhaps there is more than 1 player called Dodo. As for Delaet (came from Antwerp via Stoke) he is about 22/23 and played pretty well last night in the Manchester Senior Cup final. United won it with a great deflected shot from Tosic. Tosic seems to be working on his upper body strength and he was holding his own in the scraps. Future is looking good folks!
He is a leftback….

Also, the guy in the video scoring the goals does not look 17 to me. But then again neither does Macheda – what are they feeding kids nowadays?
Dodo who? Never heard of him before but that he is from Brazil I think he will be a good addirion for us. Is it a done deal??
F365 is reporting that United are interested in signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and are in contact with his agent… Really? No, I mean REALLY?
De Laet is, by all accounts, our next great defensive prospect after Evans.
He has a history with injuries (even at such a tender age), though, so perhaps Dodo is being signed as cover?
heres the link from above,if this is a left back happy days.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RblTteCW7A4
i hope we don’t sign Zlatan …please SAF NO!!! He’ll only slow us down.
Hope the lad is an intelligent player or we’ll never hear the end of it.
With that name, the jokes just write themselves.
That Dodo in the video is other. Is a striker. I think he’s suspended due to doping… He already pass the 30′s…
The dodo u want is this:

If u translate the article (i’m Portuguese don’t need) could read some praises to DODO. A potential world player. The national coach of brazil say that he still have difficulties defending but is fabulous attacking. He also says that he thinks is a terrible mistake if someone put the lad playing as a central defender because a great talent could be lost in the offensive side…
Best Regards and good luck to the wigan game
Hugo
Technically, there are apparently 2 Dodo’s.A lot of you are confusing ‘Dodo’ from Botafogo ,he’s a striker and looks beyond 25 yrs old and most of the youtube videos are of him .Whereas the one thats going to sign for utd is a brazil under 17 defender.Haven’t found a single pics of him yet !He’s only played for two teams ,Cruzerio and Corinthians(from 11yrs old to now).So the Dodo of Botafogo FC is Not the one !!!
I would welcome him if he’s good quality. Athough I don’t quite like his talking so much to the press about the (yet unconfirmed) move (to United or not).
sorry bout that, i had the wrong player
Dodo is playing for Brazil in the South American under-17 championship that has been shown in North America on GolTV. He’s a big kid but it’s hard to say if he’s the business – the conditions on the pitch are woeful and the television coverage has been very, very uneven. That said, he did a good job of putting the clamps on the tiny, fast Argentine forwards in the match I watched – well, I watched about an half-hour.
Why is it that Argentina can’t produce good big players any more ? All their best attackers are midgets – with the exception of Gonzalo Higuain – who are fast, skilful, and energetic. They all seem like they’re cut from the same cloth as Messi, Aguero, Tevez, and so on. Their lack of size was a big reason why Dunga absolutely stuffed them in last summer’s South American version of the EuroFootieChampionship. Brazil has a large number of very large, fast, and tough defenders and midfielders and Argentina tried to out-play them in the middle of the park. It was a disaster. Veron and Riquelme were kicked, tackled, and manhandled. But there was no PlanB – no wingers and, of course, no central attackers who could win a headed ball. Since Hernan Crespo “got old”, Argentina have become more-and-more predictable – and easy to defend by larger, tougher, taller opposition. Their undoubted skill can’t compensate for their lack of size – and the dire quality of their defenders (Collocini ? Heinze ?? the antique Walter Samuel ???) has been a huge disappointment. But they do have a lot of really, really good midfielders even if they persist in the illusion that they can win anything with the Veron/Riquelme slow-motion routine.
There’s the Dodo (foward) that played for Sao Paulo and Botafogo. He’s near 30 and is called the striker of the beautiful goals.
This Dodo is a 17 years old CB and I think he can play as a Side Back too. I don’t know aobut him so much, but I think made a great Copa São Paulo of Juniors, in Brazil.
I’ll be lookin more of him here in Brazil.
The best prospects in Brazil still are Hernanes (Sao Paulo), Ramires (Cruzeiro) – both midfielders – , and Keirrison (Palmeiras) a foward. I specially hope Fergie goes for one of the first two (mainly Hernanes), they got great future.
Here is a video from the South American U17s, though to be honest it doesn’t show much. He calls himself a fullback in the interview, and the Brazilian press all have him listed as a left back.

On another topic, how the fuck has that cunt Gerrard won the Footballer of the Year award!? Vidic finished 4th!
This lad was linj ked with us a d few weeks ago. He is supposed to be a stunnong CB in the RIO mold. Have they got another VIDIC mold. Don’t think so they threw taht away after they made Nemanja.
What a fuickingt stunning result tonight. As usual they have to get us on the edge of the seats. Fans were amazing tonight. hairs on theback of my neck were standing up. God are we blessed to be United fans.
Can’t see them selling many of his shirts.
