No reason was given at first for Nemanja Vidic’s absence from the group of players travelling to Kuala Lumpur for the pre-season tour today, leading to whispers that he could be leaving.
Antonio Valencia and Danny Welbeck will also miss out.
It is believed that an ankle injury has lead to Vidic being ruled out and his agent, Paulo Fabbri, insists our defender is not moving clubs.
“No, no no no no no,” insisted Fabbri said. “Not at all. Absolutely not at all. There is absolutely no transfer for Vidic. And, we do not expect any transfer for the time being. No he will stay for sure.”

Vidic’s agent came out and spoke, because no one from the club had the decency to say that he has been injured for a while now and as a result the rumors started. It’s not like we had updates about why Park is not travelling. Vidic is staying.

I wouldn’t be that bothered if Vidic went, I think his influence is slightly over-rated. Of course, he’s a fantastic player and I want him to stay – but he isn’t irreplaceable.

valencia didn’t travel coz he had to re-apply for his work permit after his move. Therefore he has to spend a certain amount of time (couple of months) before he can leave the e.u. He ain’t got a knock

The former Wigan winger didn’t fly to Malaysia with the rest of the United squad because he’s slightly behind in his pre-season preparations.
“Valencia didn’t get his work permit. He had to go back to Ecuador to get a visa to come back into the country,” Sir Alex explained.
“It’s one of these convoluted systems. It’s frustrating but we have to accept it. He didn’t get back to England until Monday and his fitness levels aren’t ready yet. He’ll join us in Munich.”
Nemanja Vidic will also join the squad in Germany. The Serbian was injured playing for his country and isn’t yet fit enough to take part in football training.
“He’s been doing some good physical running over the last few days but not enough to take part in games.”
As for Gabriel Obertan, the Reds’ recent recruit from Bordeaux, Sir Alex revealed the Frenchman won’t pull on a United shirt until at least October.
“Obertan has an injury that will keep him out for three months or maybe more. We were aware of that at the medical but we’re quite happy with the situation.”
