The draw for the next round of the Europe League has been made today. Having beaten LASK 5-0 just before the season was suspended, United are in a great position to progress to the quarters, where they’ll face Istanbul Basaksehir/Copenhagen.

Quarter-finals, August 10th-11th

1 Wolfsburg/Shakhtar Donetsk v Eintracht Frankfurt/Basel

2 LASK/Manchester United v Istanbul Basaksehir/Copenhagen

3 Inter Milan/Getafe v Rangers/Bayer Leverkusen

4 Olympiakos/Wolves v Sevilla/Roma

Istanbul Basaksehir
The Turkish team are currently four points clear at the top of the Süper Lig with three games to go. If they win the league, this will be the first time in their history since their founding in 1990, having finished second in 2019 and 2017. Istanbul Basaksehir have climbed from the amateur leagues all the way to the top division over the past 30 years.

They started this season in the Champions League but were knocked out at the second qualifying phase by Olympiacos. In the Europa League, the finished top of their group, ahead of Roma, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Wolfsburg.

Copenhagen
After winning the league last year, Copenhagen started this season in the Champions League but didn’t make it to the group stage after being knocked out by Red Star Belgrade in the third qualifying phase. They finished second in their Europa League group behind Malmo.

If we reach the semi-finals, we would then face one of Olympiakos, Wolves, Sevilla or Roma.

Semi-finals, August 16th-17th

Winner of quarter-final 4 v winner of quarter-final 2

Winner of quarter-final 3 v winner of quarter-final 1
