Pique is a talented defender and will do well in a tactical league like La Liga , the Champions’ League or even Serie A, but he just wasn’t cut out for the pace of the EPL.

Evans would do well in all of them (and is younger, to boot). That’s the difference, essentially.

Evra is a much better defender than clichy. Clichy still can’t defend as well yet. He’s the best leftback in the game. Does make the odd mistake defensively, but he’s been getting better defensively. He’s an excellent example for fabio and rafael.

Just like our English lads, I couldn’t care less about the International scene and if Paddy does or doesn’t suffer from Domenech’s insufferable incompetence – at the end of the day, him playing for France only increases the likelihood of injury and him not playing for United (thus missing the excellent attitude he’s displayed here).

Also, we’ve won 17 titles, not 10. United weren’t established in 1992, even if it pains me to hear the ‘dippers go on about 18-17 rather than us going on about 10-0.

Clichy had one good season and that was last season, this season he’s been nothing on Evra which is a shame ‘cuz he’s in my fantasy side! Pull your finger out Clichy!!

Also it’s Abidal that keeps Evra out isn’t it? Well he used to, I think Evra should play as a winger for France or as the full back either way, he’s too good for the bench. Abidal is poor, i’d have Clichy as full back and Evra on the wing.

I’m as biased towards United as the next guy, but I think Clichy and Evra are about as close to a push as two players can be. Its just that Clichy is a lot younger.

But we shouldn’t worry, if all goes according to plan Fabio will be in this consideration in a few years…
