Patrice Evra has been completing his coaching badges at Carrington over the past few weeks and has repeatedly taken to social media to express his happiness at being back in Manchester.

Ahead of United Women’s game against Arsenal Women on Monday evening, he was pitch-side to talk about what he had been doing at the club.

I’m just here because it’s my home and I’m completing my coaching badges and what better place to do it than at home. I’ve come to support the women and to make sure all players know that when you wear that shirt you have to understand you carry history on your back I’m here to make sure people understand what it means to play for this club.

Evra has been working with United’s U-23 and U-18s team too, and was in attendance for Friday night’s 1-0 win over Fulham for the U-23s.

As reported by the Evening News, Wood claimed that it as been brilliant for the youngsters have Evra around the training ground.

It’s great for the players. Patrice has been in and around the club all week and mixing through the age groups and speaking to the boys. Just his influence here – he’s here doing his coaching badges – just to have him around. He’s a club legend. He’s been fantastic for the players and for the staff as well.
