Evra On The Curse Of Manchester United

On Manchester United’s trophy tour of Asia, Patrice Evra has told CNN Go that he never gets bored of winning trophies.

“No, that is the curse of Manchester United. It is never enough to win the trophies,” he said. “That’s why Manchester United is a big club, and we want to stay on the top. And next year, we are going to have the same hunger to win every game. If you don’t have the hunger, you [will] get the hairdryer from Ferguson.”

Evra has also revealed that he speaks English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese, but has struggled to learn Korean, the language of his best mate Ji-Sung Park.

“Ji speaks very good English, but I want to learn so I can speak to the fans,” he said. “I have been to Korea four times, and they love me so much. But I can’t communicate with them.”

What a great man he is.

  3. Zibbie says:

    Practice begins Monday!?!

  4. Zibbie says:

The winter Evra and Vidic were signed, that was a good window. Thanks for the way you play the game. And your locker room and off the field demeanor is awesome.

  5. The Situation says:

Hoping for improvement on his form this season, same goes for Fletcher, Anderson and Evans. We need these guys playing alot better then they did last season (though Fletch was unlucky with injuries)

And if De Gea, Young and Jones settle quickly, we will be fucking laughing.

BTW, Hell no to Nasri. Bit lightweight for me. How about Lass

  6. Zibbie says:

    Lass not for me.

  7. jayunited says:

tony v bin on copa america, wnt b available 4 d start of our campaign..it gives nani nd young a clear run on eida flank(frightening)…

Pirates of the Mancunian. The curse of the fucking perch. :P

  11. Louis says:

The man has class. What do you guys think of us possibly signing Clint Dempsey. Personally, I think hes got what it takes to make the move up. Great ball control, imposes himself on games, can score from midfield. He’ll be very cheap, so no real risk there. 28 years old. Any thoughts?

  12. jayunited says:

y arent we going 4 yoan gourcourf,d guy is class…any1

  13. Zelh says:

    Lass is a destroyer.
we need someone who can dictate and dominate a game.
And that’s definitly not what Lass is up to.

  14. slim says:

haha what this i hear about an Arsenal plot for O’Shea ? can’t be real can it ? lol transfer season is in full swing

  15. RedScott says:

Evra has aways been the mouthpiece of the team,so am suprised that he is making all the right noises..
Well,if SAF really wants Nasri, then am in it 100%..
Lets respect the decisions of the gaffer, and stand by him through all his quests..
    XMEN FIRST CLASS,ANYONE?

  16. Han says:

I know there arent any rumours about them but what about Joao Moutinho and Steven Defour and i dont mean one of them, i bet we can get both for the same prices that are being thrown for nasri modric and sneijder.

I mean 2 CMs for 20-30 m is good business.

  17. The Situation says:

Arsenal have been chasing O’Shea ever since that beautiful chipped goal at Highbury a few years ago dont you know?

  18. Zelh says:

Han – Defour just signed a new contract over 5 years. no way you get him for less than 20m. moutinho is good but won’t be any cheaper.

  19. Han says:

I dont know about this Nasri thing Ive got a feeling he is just pulling a Rooney on arsenal.

There are lots of CMs out there other than 3 we were rumoured with this month, theres Ganso who we were rumoured with last summer among others.

  20. Han says:

Aha i didnt know about the contract extension but i think Moutinho would be 15-18 m max!

  21. Samuel - united WE stand says:

patrice evra is the closest thing we have to cantona, not in terms of ability or style of play but there charisma, i like listening to evra, intelligent man and a great football player.

  22. Costas says:

O’Shea won’t join Arsenal. He is off to Sunderland.

  23. gerkeo says:

Paddy evra is always good for a soundbyte but he’s in serious danger of losing his starting position to one of the da silvas if his performances dont pick up early this season.

Also whats up with all the bullshit text speak english responces? its making my eyes sore.

  24. Samuel - united WE stand says:

moutinho has being linked to united several times and he has never once got close to signing for united.

  25. King Eric says:

Clint Dempsey? Is that a sick joke?

    Gotta love Pat the nutter.

  26. Samuel - united WE stand says:

if o’shea had being french, wenger would have picked him up, he is better than silvestre (that’s not saying much really) but yet wenger signed him, o’shea is off to sunderland along with brown and his compatriot gibson.

  27. parryheid says:

If United are seriously after Nasri then Arsenal’s supposed interest in JOS will obviously be a big factor in any deal I would imagine.

  28. T4M says:

  29. RedScott says:

For me,Nasri is not a bad idea after all..We all know that at Arsenal, everyone is a pancy little bitch, thats why they dont win trophies.
But at our dearest club,we are addicted to success every season.so on that note,Nasri coming to the theatre of dreams would exterminate all that bitchy attitude, and inhale the ethos and pedigree of cham19ns..
    And thats whats up,peeps.

  30. Samuel - united WE stand says:

Clint dempsey? always capable of the unexpected occasionally and is a solid goal scorer but never for the highest level, sorry.

  31. YorYor says:

But I like a young lass with a tight ass… especially if she’s got a kickass rack to go with it. :P

  32. Costas says:

Yeah, but this lass has no class. ;)

  33. Btmcmul1 says:

I don’t like the thought of Nasri coming here. What, all of a sudden it takes a half season of decent play for him to be quality enough for us to sign him? I don’t think that’s a good enough reason, but if SAF wants him, then he is good enough.

  34. DeanO says:

Reckon we could do a better song for nasri than the gimps darn sarth did na na na na na na nas-er nas-eri na-ser nas-eri must of took em minutes to think of that gem the tools

  35. willierednut says:

  37. willierednut says:

Tunnicliffe away to Peterboro on loan.

  38. willierednut says:

    Scott Wootton as well.

  39. Btmcmul1 says:

I hope this Dempsey thing is a joke. He’s a hero here in the States, well to the three people in the US who pay attention to football, but for me he isn’t that good at all.

    What the fuck,guys?

  71. ken says:

Tunniclife to peterborough did some one say? Lol how many people on here have been commenting on how we should just play him. Shows what most people know about football. Peterbourgh…..almost as good as our team!

  72. Fred says:

Whatever happened to Corea? S/he was a good poster, I seem to recall.

Zibbie, relax about the signings and enjoy Independence Day weekend. God bless America and tell everyone to vote Ron Paul.

  73. Ash says:

A bit disappointed on hearing that tunni is send to loan.i though he could have featured for us this season.
But in Sir Alex I trust.I say let him stay for whole season and with son in charge tunni could be mon itered well.

  74. Fred says:

LOL don’t worry about Costass, just keep thinking about Trish’s ass. ;) God bless Canada. Greetings to Reds all over the world. 8)

  75. willierednut says:

I don’t think anyone said Tunni was ready for the first team. Maybe some were expecting him to be involved in the squad. Pogba the same really. They’ll be eased into team.

  76. Fred says:

Trish is actually of Greek descent, her real name is Trish Stratigias. Even more reason for you to like her, Costas. :)

  77. Ash says:

Those days are gone when a player is selected to play for manchester united at the tender age of 17 or 18.I feel its best to start your career at united at 20.
Look at arsenal their young player feature in their team from 17-18 and they don’t win any trophies.I feel Sir alex gives importance to Carling cup also.Remember a trophy is a trophy.
Ravel morrison will get some games under his belt this season. Not sure about pogba. He may get a look.

  78. Fred says:

Willie’s right, the boss knows how to ease these young pups into the game gently. You can’t throw them in at the deep end and risk stunting their entire careers. Eazy duz it, as the jheri curled gangsta rapper used to say. (God rest his soul.)

  79. Costas says:

    @Fred

Yeah I know. It is one of the main reasons I have a crush on her. :P

  80. Fred says:

Great to see The Situation posting, btw. Tell Pauly D and Snooki to get on here too.

  81. MG says:

Republik of the Mancunia in The Curse of Manchester United

Ahoy me hearties here ships the sail to the waters deadly

  82. Rai says:

TonyBee – I’m not actually me!!

RedScott – good to see you posting on here again mate. The username issue, in short, is trolls using different names when really there’s a very sad, lonely, empty souled dipper/blue spending a lot of time on ROM….bordering obsession!!

  83. YorYor says:

First loan deal for Tunnicliffe and he gets Championship football. Good for him. Let’s see whether he sets the league alight.
Guess it’s more likely for Cleverley to get the chances he needs… hopefully he’ll show us he deserves the chances.

  84. captaink9 says:

Gotta love Evra he is a Red.
On another note I’d like to take tis time to address the ‘click’ they know who they are.

I’d like to apologise for some of my comments and I look back now and think I may have been out of order with a few. I hope we can forget this and all be friends on here because we have been brought together for one reason only, our love for United.

    Thanks.

  85. Costas says:

Take care of our boys Darren.

  86. King Eric says:

captain9 – Yeah fair enough but just dont trust you pal. Like your spelling of the word “clique”. We aint fucking daft mate.

Regards to Megleeker anyone else notice in the past he finished his posts with “yip”? Yipyapstam? Fuck knows but as I say fair enough but dont trust you.

  87. Rai says:

Captain9k – You can stick that apology up your Mrs’ hairy arse you cunt. Don’t try making a fool out of anyone on this site. Your apology is bullshit. Fuck off.

  88. willierednut says:

Rai – Have doubts, that’s the real RedScot mate.

  89. denton davey says:

Ash @17:08: “Ravel morrison will get some games under his belt this season.”

I reckon that Morrison won’t get loaned out – he has personal issues that need a strong, firm, hand and steady guidance. I doubt that SAF would trust this gem with anyone else – not even his son Darren who is the manager at Peterborough where it seems that Ryan Tunnicliffe is going to introduced into the man’s game after being dominant player at the under-18 level.

  90. Rai says:

Willie – the real RedScot used to crack me up, just been bought to my attention it was RedScot and not tt. Fuck knows. All I know is Captain9k’s apology is dangling off his Mrs’ hairy butt hole

  91. King Eric says:

Rai – Well said mate. The cheeky cunt apologises having first addressed the clique. Or click. Fucking joker. You can’t blag a blagger.

  92. Mrad_leb says:

what about Fellaini in the center of the park..he’s a very good DM and will be cheaper than nasri.modric or sneider

  93. magicinthe6 says:

There’s nothing funny with Clint Dempsey. The guy is a stone cold killer, as an american i’ve been watching him for years. I would be extremely happy if we signed him. He’s good on the ball, good pace and a really good shot. Why not sign him…a play with premier league experience…world cup experience…..top of the goal sheet for his club? Or i guess we could just sign another BeBe?

There this notion with fans of united that we can either sign two players….a nobody who has untapped genius ((hard to find) e.g. chicharito) or a superstar (can have big conseuqnces if it doesn’t work out). Why not look at someone like dempsey or donavan for instance and see if there level of play raises when they’re surrounded by the rest of united. The JOKE is that Dempsey would play for the same rate he’s gettin now (would honestly take a paycut if he didn’t have an agent) for the chance to play at united

  94. Rai says:

King Eric – their obsession is strange mate. Freaks think they’re clever.

  95. MyCowIsTheBest says:

@Costas: Curse of the fucking perch. Class comment

  96. Rick says:

Hey! Hey! Hey! Chill-out all u guys, though everyones entitled to his/her own opinions they all are presumptions and will remain to be soo till they’ve bin put down on paper. Ciao then

  97. RD54 says:

Read a lot comments about our young boys these few days,it make me sick,I watch every reserve and acadamey games, I deeply agree that some of kids like tunni, pogba ,king, ravel are very very talented, they also had a lot wonderful performance at the games, but could they really can straight fill into the senior team ?do u know the difference between the premier league game and boys
game?pls give them some little time ,the best is loan them out to other teams ,learn and develop themselves to a mature fooballers, you can see Johnny ,Tom and welback s way,at this moment ,If force me must take one on above 4,I’ll say ravel because his style of play and mental strong, also on his discipline I don’t want to loan him out,it will better let him look up to the senior players, then go to right way and fulfill his talent.sorry for my poor English again.thanks

  98. magicinthe6 says:

    @RD54

Good point, its easy to forget how big the gap is between reserves and match day. It only gets wider at a team like united. Makes you think how nutz it is that rooney was a regular fixture at everton before his balls dropped

  99. Kings says:

Stick your apology you schizo cross dressing cunt. Your abuse was way over the mark and has caused irrecoverable damage. I know I have been accused of going on the attack, but I never resorted to racism or speaking ill of people’s parents. You are a bad man.

  100. captaink9 says:

    @kings

who are you referring to when u say racism or ill peoples parents

  101. Kings says:

    captaink9 – One of your many alias’s.

  102. captaink9 says:

I am one, captaink9 only. ill let u keep thinking but i dont have time to post under other names.
Ask scott he will tell u and as for being racist, no its not me, i never have once posted racist comments or speak of someones parents

    go research some more..

  103. Rai says:

Captaink9 – you got found out a long time ago. You know it and most of us know it.

  104. captaink9 says:

    About what Rai????

  105. CedarsDevil says:

    Afternoon/Evening all true REDS

Surprised no one picked out that ‘fishy’ post on the other Evra thread, posted at 8:22 to be precise…..

Regarding Red Scott with a double t, can never know anymore to be honest

  106. RD54 says:

    @magicinthe6
I did agree your comment about Dempsey ,plus his pass also good,in last few years ,when I feel united haven’t enough money then I’ll think can we buy some weak premier team players for cheap?it will better then none,Dempsey was in that group, but buddy, this summer we look have enough money ,so I will not go for him, sorry.

  107. Rai says:

Hello Cedars, did notice the comment, but wasn’t sure what to make of it. Lookin at it now, it’s probably the same person different username….anyway, how are you mate? I’m tempted to have a night in, few beers and watch an old match….thinking the Arsenal game when we won 2-4 at Highbury. I remember going MENTAL watching that game!

  108. CedarsDevil says:

    Rai

Hi buddy, I am well thanks hope you are as well. I am pretty sure who it is but I will leave that for others to make their own judgement.

If I was to remember how many times I went MENTAL watching United I will lose whatever is left of my mind! Enjoy yourself my friend, great match indeed

  109. Costas says:

I regards to our youth, the first wave that needs to start making their mark is the Welbeck/Macheda/Cleverley trio. Pogba, Tunni and Morrison will still need more work. I can’t wait to see them, as well as Reece Brown, in the league cup games though. Denton made a good point about Morrison staying under Fergie’s umbrella. That’s a must at this stage. I still don’t know if it will be enough though. I don’t think Fergie has dealt with many guys situations like his.

    @Cedars

Now I know what you mean. I don’t think it was fishy mate. That person has posted here before and he is ok.

  110. Costas says:

Oliver Gill is another player I hope gets his first team debut this season.

  111. Rai says:

I watched it in a pub full of Arsenal fans…couldn’t contain myself!! Travelled down on the match day on the promise this guy I knew was getting me in….by the end of the match I was so happy the disappointment settled down…brilliant game. That’s when Ronnie started to excel as a big game player..

  112. CedarsDevil says:

    Costas

Cheers for the clarification buddy, personally I do not have any recollection of his posts and to be honest that way the post was constructed made me suspicious….. With all the shit going on here lately its easy to get carried away…… If I am wrong than I apologize to the said poster…… Just thought the term ‘my fav cedars’ was strange!

  113. willierednut says:

I don’t think that was RedScot. Different style of writing.

  114. CedarsDevil says:

    Rai

How can we ever forget that goal celebration by JOS? Cantona like it was and especially as we were playing with 10 men………… Bloody classic

Hope you gave them gooners hell buddy

  115. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie

    Is that you?

  116. King Eric says:

Cedars – Hello mate, hows it going? Yeah you mean that one by thundercats this morning? I did actaully think it was a strange one.

  117. Rai says:

Costas – Agreed about Cleverley and Welbeck – I think Macheda will and should be sent on loan…he’s a talented lad I think a season on loan in England will be very beneficial for him …the boss has done the right thing with Tunni, but don’t think he’ll let Morrison go he needs to mature as a person a bit yet (if everything we read is true).

  118. Costas says:

    @Cedars

He hasn’t posted here a lot, but from what I’ve seen, he seems to be reasonable. And don’t sell yourself short. You are bound to have your own fan club. ;)

  119. theboogeyman says:

Good afternoon/evening/night Cedars, willie, everyone else.

What the hell has happened to RoM these last 4 days? I’ve been away and just finished catching up now.

  120. willierednut says:

    Cedars – It’s me, TonyBee!

  121. King Eric says:

Is it fuck RedScot. That much is pretty obvious. He could be just another Scot or Scott and a new poster. Thing that is odd though is he asked Cedars how he was.

  122. CedarsDevil says:

    A quick review for Rai……..

  123. King Eric says:

Hello boogeyman my young friend. Hows it going?

  124. theboogeyman says:

Oh and I forgot Costa, King Eric and Rai. Hi guys!

  125. willierednut says:

Andy Murray is the spurs of tennis. Always flatters to deceive.

Hello Boogeyman! The RoM is kind of upside down atm. Snakes in the grass, ya see.

  126. CedarsDevil says:

King Eric – I am well my friend. To be honest I do not know what to believe here anymore, we seem to be infested with some form of a virus and it sickens me to be honest. I will however take the word of Costas on the said poster but that still leaves us with so much disease here

  127. theboogeyman says:

King Eric- How’s things with you? I’m still on holiday, went out of town to get away from this 40 degree summer. I miss my United fix!

willie- So many imposters, duplicates, it’s like a spy film lol.

  128. CedarsDevil says:

    theboogeyman

Hi there my friend, good to see you here buddy….

    Where is the BOFA?

  129. Rai says:

Hello Boogeyman, hope you’re well mate. Been a strange month on here if I’m honest!! Fake usernames, hijacking, racism, wishing death upon our great manager….all things that we shouldn’t have to endure…

Cedars – I can’t download that link on my phone but will check it out later – I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait buddy

  130. theboogeyman says:

The BOFA? A quick Google says you mean Bank of America? :P

  131. CedarsDevil says:

    theboogeyman

Hahaha, the BOFA stands for Breath Of Fresh Air…. A term to describe our friend smartalex ….

You have been away a long time!

  132. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie? TonyBee?

Which one of you 2 am I talking to?

  133. theboogeyman says:

Cedars- No access to the internet does that to you!

Speaking of smartalex, his up to date joke had me falling to the floor laughing!

  134. TonyBee says:

fuck off Cedars you Lebanese love puppet….. Willie here……. or not…..

  135. TonyBee says:

    you lot want some jokes…….

  136. willierednut says:

How Willie? TonyBee, reporting in.

  137. TonyBee says:

An American twat at work today came up to me and said: “Are you African?”
I replied “No, why?”, to which he responded with: “Because A-frican hate you!” He was chuckling about this all through lunch.

After lunch, he asked me again: “Are you Jamaican?”
    I again replied: “No, why?”.
He said: “Jamaican me wanna kill you!” and laughed about this for the rest of the day.

This pissed me off a lot, so I devised my own plan for annoying him.

He was leaving around 5 when he popped his head round the door and said: “Im off for the night buddy”. I looked up and said: “Hey, are you american?”

He said “Yes, how could you tell?”, grinning as he expected a “witty” punchline, similar to his jokes.

I took great pleasure in looking him in the eye and saying in a calm, level voice: “Because you are the fattest cunt I’ve ever seen.”

    Priceless.

  138. TonyBee says:

    har har……

  139. CedarsDevil says:

    Hi Willie err TonyBee

Little boy: “No miss, it’s bollocks. He plays for Man City but I’m too embarrassed to say”.

  146. TonyBee says:

Man City have signed a new striker from Nigeria.

On his first day of training, Mancini picked up the ball and said ‘BALL’ then pointed at the goal and said ‘Goal. Then he demonstrated a kicking motion and said ‘Kick’ understand, ‘Kick ball, goal, GOOOOOAAAALLL!’

Eventually the young African plucks up courage to say “Excuse me Mr Mancini but I speak very good English”, to which Mancini replies ‘ Sit down son, I’m talking to Balotelli.’

A lady walks into a high class jewellery shop. She browses around and spots a beautiful diamond bracelet and walks over to inspect it. As she bends over to look more closely, she inadvertently breaks wind.

Very embarrassed, she looks around nervously to see if anyone has noticed her little accident and prays that a sales person doesn’t pop up right now.

As she turns around, her worst nightmare materialises in the form of a salesman standing right behind her.

Cool as a cucumber and displaying complete professionalism, the salesman greets the lady with, “Good day, Madam. How may we help you today?”

Very uncomfortably, but hoping that the salesman may just not have been there at the time of her little ‘accident’, she asks, “Sir, what is the price of this lovely bracelet?”

He answers,”Madam, if you farted just looking at it, you are going to shit yourself when I tell you the price.”

  162. CedarsDevil says:

TonyBee and Cedars sharing a beer at a pub in Liverpool, both have no fucking clue how they ended up there….. 163. TonyBee says:

An old lady is going up in a lift in a very Lavish department store when a young, beautiful woman gets in, smelling of expensive scent.

She turns to the old woman and says arrogantly, “Romance by Ralph Lauren, £100 a bottle.”

Then another young woman gets in the lift, She also turns to the old woman and says snootily “Chanel No 5, £150 a bottle.”

A few floors later, the old lady has reached her destination. As she gets out, she looks both woman in the eye, then turns round, bends over and farts, saying, “Broccoli, 25p a fecking pound.”

One is, that you have a bad case of piles, and the other is, you are going to go on a long journey.”

  188. Rai says:

    Smartalex – You’re a good bloke.

  189. smartalex says:

The contributor posting under the username ‘RedScott’ is absolutely definitely not the ‘RedScot’ known by many on RoM.

Further, the fact that ‘RedScott’ greeted CedarsDevil in the manner of an old acquaintance clearly indicates that fraud was his intent. He is a lying, backstabbing cunt.

  190. TonyBee says:

  196. Rai says:

Smartalex – I made a few comments earlier that were a bit out of character, being a bit harsh to Captaink9′s Mrs, I usually don’t stoop so low – the poor cow has enough shit to deal with so I apologise to her….the fact that he didn’t care about the comments we all made earlier goes to show they’re on here just for a laugh…trying to wind everyone up

  199. Rai says:

    *Fact*

  200. CedarsDevil says:

smartalex is not a good bloke, he is a fucking great bloke…….. Bloody hardcore United supporter he is…..

  201. Cyril Sneer says:

    Greetings fellow Reds,

I am pleased to say that the latest ABUnati report has been cleared by Sir Alex. Unfortunately it is longer than usual and I don’t want to take up too much space here, so if you want to find out why De Gea nearly missed his medical and meet my new friend Agent Calypso, please click the link in my user name.

I’m sorry if this suddenly shows up several times, I am having trouble getting my posts to appear.

  202. CedarsDevil says:

    For smartalex

Hey you, out there in the cold
    Getting lonely, getting old
    Can you feel me?
Hey you, standing in the aisles
With itchy feet and fading smiles
    Can you feel me?
Hey you, dont help them to bury the light
Don’t give in without a fight.

Hey you, out there on your own
    Sitting naked by the phone
    Would you touch me?
Hey you, with you ear against the wall
Waiting for someone to call out
    Would you touch me?
Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone?
Open your heart, I’m coming home.

    But it was only fantasy.
    The wall was too high,
    As you can see.
    No matter how he tried,
    He could not break free.
And the worms ate into his brain.

Hey you, out there on the road
    always doing what you’re told,
    Can you help me?
Hey you, out there beyond the wall,
    Breaking bottles in the hall,
    Can you help me?
Hey you, don’t tell me there’s no hope at all
Together we stand, divided we fall.

  203. smartalex says:

    For CedarsDevil

You know that I care what happens to you
And I know that you care for me too
    So I don’t feel alone
Of the weight of the stone
Now that I’ve found somewhere safe
    To bury my bone
And any fool knows a dog needs a home
A shelter from pigs on the wing.

  204. RedScott says:

    @ Smartalex..
seriously, why would you wanna diss another brother like that?
    For what,man?
Because you have issues with my username?
    What the fuck,man?!
    Have i dissed anyone here?
If there was a RedScot, does that mean i can’t add a red to my name and make it a username?
Seriously y’all, this whole troll thing is startin to piss fellas off.
I asked about cedars, because he’s always constructive with his post.
I appreciate guys like costas, king eric, balaji, stateside, giles oakley, willie, tonybee,MG,NRD,GGHT and other true reds here..
I may not post often, but i follow ROM every fuckin day..
So Smartalex, please cut me some slack..am not gonna do all dat shit with anyone here…
    @ TonyBee, u are a legend.

  205. King Eric says:

    Nutters!

Smartalex. Evening mate. Spot on as usual. I said the same thing earlier. If it was a different RedScot fair enough but why on earth would he address Cedars like a good pal? Fucking scum bastard.

  206. CedarsDevil says:

    hmmmmm

  207. Fred says:

Why does nobody ever name-check me? Fuck off! :(

  208. xol says:

why do people never namecheck fred?

  209. Costas says:

Going to intervene here since a an explanatory comment was posted. Like he said just above, I don’t think RedScott’s intention was to impersonate RedScot. Unfortunately, similar usernames create confusion at times and we’ve all grown suspicious in here. Too much. So I’d say sorry to RedScott for any misunderstandungs. It’s just that we had our fair share of impersonators in here. Since you are not one of them, don’t sweat anything. Just know that some might confuse you with the other RedScot.

  210. smartalex says:

    RedScott

i see that you read my comment containing your username, and responded immediately.

i must therefore conclude that you read the many other comments where you were warmly addressed as a long departed and well missed brother. You did nothing to enlighten those who were deceived, preferring to bask in their misplaced adulation.

Therefore, you are a lying, back-stabbing cunt, as I previously concluded.

  211. Costas says:

P.S. I said it earlier, but some lurkers tend to compliment the regulars even if they’ve never spoken to them. Nothing wrong with that.

  212. captaink9 says:

Telling the so called clique to fuck off is a bit out of order. I apologise for that comment. You all say I’ve been found out but I will once again say, I am only on here under one username. I’d like proof that I indeed post under several names,
    Work that out smartalex.

  213. smartalex says:

King Eric – Evening mate! Yeah, this RedScott is not an accidental tourist.

He is an imposter. Who is GGHT? Seems that this twat want’s to be recognised as a long-time contributor, yet it is apparent that he is merely an arsehole trying to be a cunt.

  214. smartalex says:

captaink9 – Did you carefully read my comment at 21:16, where I showed that I had invested time and effort in an attempt to return you to the table you wish to be at, despite the likelihood of me losing friends for doing it?

  215. King Eric says:

I actually believe this lad. If so then I apologies mate. He mentions the like of ghht and Giles who are not considered part of the “clique“ by that nutter captainmegleekercuntyip.

  216. captaink9 says:

I read it and i dont give a fuck about it.

  217. Fred says:

Thank you, xol. You’re a top bloke. :)

  218. united daft says:

I haven’t laughed this much in a long time.

  219. CedarsDevil says:

If you lose them for such efforts, then I am sorry….. They were never friends to begin with

  220. smartalex says:

Goodbye captaink9. Your death has saved my soul.

  221. King Eric says:

    Paranoia on RoM.

  222. smartalex says:

That is true CedarsDevil. Fickleness and deception are not qualities held by true friends.

  223. Costas says:

Scott Carson is off to Bursaspor. I think that’s why the word plight was created…

  224. Fred says:

I was about to say that I think RedScott deserves the benefit of the doubt too. He obviously knows his onions about this blog, so if he wanted to impersonate RedScot, why wouldn’t he just call himself RedScot? There’s nothing to stop him doing that.

However, I agree that he “did nothing to enlighten those who were deceived, preferring to bask in their misplaced adulation.”.

So for me, the jury is still out on this one. :?

  225. captaink9 says:

    This is just hello people

The visionary is here! I foresaw a misunderstanding and tended to introduce the method of inclusion. Then in my wisdom, I decided, fuck that shit! Let me make you understand the rules of the game capo.

    1: Don’t mess with best.

2: Always relent the upper hand to the superior force.

3: Bow in the presence of greatness.

4: Don’t fuck with my famila, or I will kill ya.

    5: Silence is golden.

6: There is no clique and we’ll kill anyone that says so.

7: To prosper, is to oblige.

8: Never take sides against the famila.

9: Don’t get high on your own supply.

10: Never fuck with the Don.

Understand these rules and we’ll be peachy.

  230. CedarsDevil says:

    Costas

  272. smartalex says:

willierednut – I owe you an apology. It seems to me that both you and I were not part of the group that clearly recognised capo as a cunt. Then yesterday he submitted his theories on RedMegleeker following him, with a sarcastic comment that involved you. I chose to try to find truth in his claim, ignoring the fact that you then openly recognised his despicable nature. I was wrong.

  273. Zibbie says:

But crack would be my choice. Like a ski jump.

  274. CedarsDevil says:

  292. jellybean says:

portugeseprincess- may ur friend rest in peace and hope u’re coping ok. death is a really strange thing to deal with, one minute u forget about it and then it hits u again. RoM can be a helpful escape from “real life” for a while, even just reading through when u’re not posting..keeps ur mind of it i guess?

Evra is just so infinitely quotable. “No, that is the curse of Manchester United. It is never enough to win the trophies”. Hunger and desire are twp things never lacking in this team. I wish Fergie would stay forever. 13 days till we get to watch the lads play again, even though it’s a friendly I cant wait. Sick of the transfer speculation and the “we should sign so-and-so”, “our signings suck, we’ll never beat Barca”. Fuck Barca, every true Red knows Man Utd will never die.

  293. willierednut says:

I leave this here, hope god see my heart is pure, is heaven just another door?

  294. portugueseprincess says:

@smartalex and jellybean, thank you. Some days are better than others…some mornigs I still wake up thinking that this is all a nightmare. But my pain doesn’t even compare to his mum,she lost her only child…sometimes I wonder why all the good die young while all the scum of the earth are allowed to stay here…but that’s life I guess…

  295. smartalex says:

    portugueseprincess

The pain of loss is almost unbearable. There is joy in that pain. Joy that you were touched by someone so special. Joy that their departure causes you pain, not relief. Joy that they live on forever more in the hearts of those that love, and were loved.

Understanding is a fleeting human quality that carries no weight in the universal truth.
Acceptance is our path to relief. Know that we are, and always will be.

Live the pain, accept it as the wonder of life and love. Your friend is watching over you, glad to be missed, and sad to be unable to relieve your pain. Think joyously of the special time that you shared, and know that it is eternal. We are one.

  296. smartalex says:

Patrice Evra has warned new team-mate David de Gea that replacing Edwin van der Sar in the Manchester United goal will not be a straightforward task.

“He has to work hard because it’s not easy to do the job Edwin did,” Evra said. “But he will be given every opportunity.”

  297. Fred says:

@portugueseprincess – That is truly shocking. I’m so sorry. :(

You have my deepest sympathies and condolences at this difficult time.

All I can say is that your friend is in a better place now. May they rest in eternal peace. xx

  298. smartalex says:

“Currently, everyone is standing still,” Wenger said. “Everyone expects everyone else to make the first move. Everyone holds on to their cards, hoping for the major transfer [to kick-start the transfer window]. Nobody blinks until late July, early August. Then we will analyse the gaps in each team. [But] I am very active on the phone.”

I think I have seen you post once or twice before. Join us more often, if you will.
    The more, the merrier!

  301. feedemscraps says:

    Cheers Smartalex
Usually playing catch up and when i’ve got something to say a new thread has opened and the chat has moved on.

  302. feedemscraps says:

On the subject of Nasri, if he comes to us, great, if he goes somewhere else, so what.
What is amusing is all these players wanting out of L’Arse, rats deserting the sinking ship methinks. At this rate they will be lucky to stay in the Prem let alone struggle to qualify for UCL.

  303. smartalex says:

    feedemscraps

Even if a new thread has opened, post your comment. There are literally a hundred guys who return to check old threads. Guys like Fred and willierednut (and myself) will always keep an eye out for comments, even on ancient threads! Also, if you say something foolish, lees people will notice! Just kidding!

Arsenal do appear to be losing the plot, and their players. However, Wenger always manages with whoever he has, and I expect them to come 2nd this season.
Don’t place any bets on my say so though!

  304. smartalex says:

    Goodnight RoM!

… and as Zibbie would say, I have to get up early! Busy day tomorrow, etc, etc, with knobs on!

  305. Zibbie says:

@smartalex, wonderful assessment of one of the most common occurrence’s so riddled with fear.
Everything in of it’s self, is it self. As our energy flows on in a form so foreign to us.

    Assessment and sentiment as well.

  307. Zibbie says:

  308. Zibbie says:

LOL !!!!!! Oh fuck I love this place.

  309. Fred says:

Your words were great too, Zibbie. I took comfort from your messages as well as in the touching sentiments expressed by smartalex.

Goodnight and God bless to the RoM family. :)

  310. King Eric says:

Smartalex. Hello mate. While. I usually agree with you I can’t on the subject of Arsenal finishing second. If thet DO lose Fabregas ,which is a given, and Nasri I honestly don’t think they stand a chance of finishing second. I fully expect obviously United, the Rent boys , City all to finish above them. Not to mention the like of the dippers and Spurs possibly catching them. They don’t improve. Players just stagnate at that club. It is a fucking myth Wenger is a genius at bringing players on. Fabregas, Wallcott, Rosicksy, Clichy and Van Persie are just a few to mention who haven’t really kicked on season on season. A soft club where key players are injured for large parts of the season. Wenger needs to pull a rabbit out the hat as slowly but surely the fans are starting to lose faith.

  311. Ash says:

Messi again showed he cannot play for Argentina.Had a poor game against Bolivia.
Messi is a great player but he again proved he needs xavi-Iniesta with him.
I still rate Cristiano more than messi.
    Xavi>Cristiano>Messi

  312. Ash says:

    @King eric
I completely agree with you aboout arsenal.I feel they will find hard to finish top 4.Their time is coming to an end of being in top4.
Lets see how wenger handles his team now.

  313. zino says:

    Good Morning RoM

Is it that chelsea and city don’t have scouts or what? They seem to go after every player linked to United even if the link is as fragile as a noodle.

On another note, Rafa Nadal swept aside Andy Murray at Wimbledon yesterday. U gotta feel sorry 4 the kid though. The whole of Great Britain seem to have cast their hopes on his shoulders. Hope the same doesn’t happen to David Haye todayGood Morning RoM

Any transfer update of us?sorry for so early morning ,I just finished my lunch in HK .

  317. smartalex says:

    Good Morning!

King Eric – Hello mate! My head tells me logically that Arsenal will struggle, but instinctively I feel they will do far better than that. Every season, after reviewing the squads, I consider them likely to struggle, yet they’re always there or thereabouts. This season I’m expecting Chelsea to struggle, as Boas tries to placate the crowd by retaining Terry and Lampard; and city have too many ego’s to sustain a challenge to the end. Liverpool are relying on Kenny, who to my mind is a bottler. That leaves Arsenal.

Don’t head for the bookies armed with this comment!

  318. Samuel - united WE stand says:

I can’t believe people are writing arsenal off? they’ll always challenge and will make the top four.

  322. TonyBee says:

    Smartalex….morning fella….. Not sure about the ARSE….
IF ALL THEIR PLAYERS FUCK OFF Fabregas, Nasri Cky….et al …
Wenger will be hard pressed to sort the team out ….
IMO Fabregas will leave them but Nasri will probably stay and is just angling for a better contract…..they seem to have lost their way over the last few seasons playing okay against lesser teams but when grit and endeavour is needed Wenger has no clue……
I HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE IN FREE-FALL AND WENGER MAY BE FUCKED OFF THIS SEASON

  323. TonyBee says:

    Princess from Portugal

  324. Rai says:

Morning ladies and gents. Very sorry to hear your bad news portugeseprincess, you’ve always got your ROM family for support if need be.

Feedemscarps – Post away buddy…like smartalex said sometimes the older threads get better when most people have moved on…sometimes easier to have a straighforward discussion or laugh.

On Arsenal, I really think he has to win a trophy this year or he’ll probably call time himself…he’s a kiddy fiddler but he’s a proud kiddy fiddler, and he won’t overstay his time me thinks….

Cedars – sore head buddy. When you’re exhausted and you have a good few drinks your night turns into a blur!!!

  325. Rai says:

*Feedemscraps* – sorry about spelling predictive text is a bitch

  326. ancha says:

    good morning ROM

    smartalex, king Eric, Samuel

Even I feel we shouldn’t underestimate the gooners, As much as I hate that odd shaped cunt, Wilshire, he is going to replace Fab, If my guess is right they are going to sign Gervinho from Lille and I have seen him play for ivory coast, he will fit in place of Nasri, if only Arsene can add some EPL quality defenders ala Cahill not some dumb French defender, they will be in top three

    Tony Bee
you are a legend my friend, you & cyril are a treat for ROMers

I am all excited and waiting for preseason friendlies to begin, I am content with the players we have signed and I genuinely believe Ando will make us look dumb for asking to sign a quAlity CM, anyone agree with me on Ando?

I’m off guys to a short vacation, see ya all after a week, while leaving I would like to put in some safety tips for regular ROMers and esp for our most passionate, hardcore supporter Smartalex

tip 1 – ignore the trolls, whatever bile they post, just don’t bother to read

tip 2 – if you have patience and some humour, you can even greet the trolls for their dumb & vile posts, if you are not capable of doing then you can always ignore

tip 3 – please have debate on who is the hottest Megan or Hayley :P :) 8)
    bye guys, have fun

  327. ancha says:

    Costas

the main problem is with the mobile version of the website, while posting, even after you publish the post the content still appears in the edit box and hence people are re publishing it and some how the whole thing doubles up in the same post, hope this problem gets sorted, except that this mobile version is cool

  328. Rai says:

Ancha – the mobile version saved my sanity!!!

  329. King Eric says:

    Morning all.

Hideous news portugeseprincess, really sorry to hear that.

Jim – Ha. Oh dear. That link has to be a wind up? Fetch 60 pound for him? Never beat Barca “with him leading the squad”? The dippers with the “purchasing power”? That story is about ten months out of date. What an utter shit write up. Made my morning that mate. Cheers.

  330. CedarsDevil says:

    Morning all true REDS

Not sure what to make of the Arsenal issue to be honest, I can still see them with the likes of Chelsea, shitty and even the dippers fighting it out for 2nd, 3rd and 4th next season.

Rai – I know the feeling buddy, which match did you end up watching? If you remember that is :-)

  331. CedarsDevil says:

    ancha

Have a great time my friend

  332. CedarsDevil says:

    ancha

I would agree with you on Ando, just hope he stays injury free… Every time he hits a bit of form and shows us what he can do he gets injured…

Oh and regarding your last point, no debate at all there, we all know Meg Ryan is the hottest!

  333. jim says:

    @King Eric
Ya mate, our gaffer will say over my dead body..come on man, shitty and loserpool!!!

  334. Manchuchu says:

    Nasri.

    Do not want.

  335. CedarsDevil says:

How blessed are we hey? Whilst our pre season has not started yet, Fulham’s season has already kicked off with Europa league pre qualification…..

  336. CedarsDevil says:

    Damn slow day on RoM

  337. Lloyd™ says:

    Yes,slow day.

  338. Rai says:

Hello Cedars – watched the Arsenal game then watched a certain penalty shoot out from 2008 :)
Oh Owen Hargreaves you are the love of my life…

  339. Balaji Sivaraman says:

    Good Morning ROM!

@Cedars and Rai, Slow Day Eh! Best Way to make it faster.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fns7bLUZbc

God Bless Manchester United Football Club.

@ancha, Reg your last point, Youtube is full of videos of Megan Fox vs Rosie Huntington and I think I am finally able to see why the latter is a decent choice. Although, no one can beat Foxy in my eyes though.

  340. CedarsDevil says:

Rai – In case you or anyone else wants to enjoy that particular shoot out again here it is

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFw3VOStwiE

Balaji – Do piss off, any such debates with out Meg are worthless….. Thanks for that link by the way, loved it

  341. parryheid says:

Another day another contender,Seems the media have removed City and substituted Chelsea as United’s challengers for Nasri.

  342. Kings says:

CedarsDevil – Hello my friend. Thanks for the link, still gets the hairs standing on the back of my neck when I watch that. 4 mins 23 Hargreaves penalty – ‘Just!, Just!’. Fuck off you silly cunt commentator, Hargreaves was always in control with that pen and Cech was never going to save that.

  343. CedarsDevil says:

Kings – Pleasure buddy, I can never get enough of watching tiny tears during that shoot out.. Thanks for making an appearance my friend, RoM is dead slow today

  344. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@Cedars, Thanks for the link. How can you call a cunt the heart and soul of Chelsea when he doesn’t even have a heart and soul is beyond me? God, I love to see that again and again just to see CLLC crying.

@Kings, Yeah, the commentator does not know what he’s talking about – Owen’s pen was the best on the night. Literally no GK in the world would’ve stopped that.

Nani and Hargreaves do have balls of steel. Then went in knowing that if they missed, the CL is as good as Chelsea’s. And they produced the two best spot kicks on the night. Amazing really. And Nani was only 21 at the time also.

  345. CedarsDevil says:

    Balaji

I would disagree with you, the best penalty was actually taken by Terry, such a pity he did not snap his knee in two as he fell down, that would have made it a lot more special….

I guess we cannot be greedy hey?

  346. willierednut says:

I disagree Cedars! the best penalty was by Anelka lol. Good morning lads.

  347. fergie is the boss says:

King Eric – for me signing nasri seems stupid when he does not solve united’s engine room problem. United are probably interested in signing nasri because of what is left of his contract, fergie sees the dreaded quote, value for money

  348. CedarsDevil says:

    Morning Willie

That sort of takes away credit from VDS but fair enough!

  349. Samuel - united WE stand says:

Everytime i see the tears in terry’s eyes, it brings joy to my heart because i knew he only had to put the ball in the net to end my footballing dream.

Who said a synthetic plastic pitch and rain fall can’t work to your advantage sometime?, we really have to claim that european cup again but i fear we may face many more heartaches with the barca dominance but who knows, maybe we could conquer them, i stil harbour those hopes and dreams.l can’t work to your advantage sometime?, we really have to claim that european cup again but i fear we may face many more heartaches with the barca dominance but who knows, maybe we could conquer them, i stil harbour those hopes and dreams.

  350. fergie is the boss says:

Also guys, check this article, fantastic stuff on united’s spending this summer

    http://www.soccerphile.com/man-utd-2011-summer-spending

  351. Costas says:

    What FITB said about Nasri.

This is the first time I actually wish Shitty flex their financial muscle and overpay to get him. That way we will move on to some targets that can actually do a job in midfield.

  352. willierednut says:

    http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/sunderland-afc/match-reports/o_shea_next_for_bruce_1_3536635

Sheasy off to Sunderland? And yes, Fergie is interested in Nasri. Nothings done and dusted yet, so stay calm people. Latest I heard, Nasri agreed to join United weeks ago. Agreeing a fee with Arsenal, will be the only stumbling block. After I rubbished the young deal, I’m gonna wait and see, how this develops.

  353. fergie is the boss says:

Costas – he is a good player nasri, but where does he play? that is the question, is fergie changing formations and playing a 3 and having the attacking built around nasri young rooney and hernandez, or is fergie hoping to rehape nasri’s position and playing him in a 2. Also how can fergie fit nasri and berbatov in the same team, that is an even bigger question than how does he play in the central engine room position

  354. fergie is the boss says:

But I can see fergie’s logic, that he sees nasri has a younger Wesley scneijder, who is much cheaper and has played in the premiership

  355. Samuel - united WE stand says:

Anderson has started to hit the back of the net, that was his main weakness but i think he has started to time his runs into the box, maybe master scholes thought him a few secrets?

His shooting overall still has to keep improving though and his long range passing need slight tweaking but i like the fact he is always thinking of moving forward, he has the power and decent pace to be a box to box midfield player, i’m suprised he has not finally nailed down a first team place, he needs to keep working on his game though.

  356. willierednut says:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEAC8xQZYUU

Since we’re dropping videos, heres an old favourite of mine.

Keano vs big pussy pat! Lol.

  357. Costas says:

    @willie

The O’Shea rumors are getting stronger by the day. I wish they bs, but I doubt it. The Daily Fail said yesterday that Wes is valued at 2 million. What a joke.

    @FITB

Imo the Rooney-Herandez partnership requires that we play 4-4-2. And if that’s the case, I don’t see where Nasri will play other than the wing. He could do a job in the centre in a 4-3-3, but that why change a system that started clicking for us at the end of 10-11. As for Berbatov, I don’t think there will be any dilemma. I really doubt both he and Nasri will play for United next season.

  358. Costas says:

    *they were bs*

  359. fergie is the boss says:

Samuel – united WE stand – for me anderson needs to improve his hold up of the ball, and his passing is still poor, in terms of creating he is still poor in that area

Who said berba will be playing? although i feel for the bulgarian, i actually think he may be spending sometime on the bench but then again the fact he sat on there all last season will spur him on into a mesmerising form.

i still highly doubt nasri will be joining united, rumours are gaining momentum and won’t go away, he is quality but lacking consistency through out a season which he’d have to improve on at united or he’ll be warming the bench around here.

Then again, its probably an agent work trying to drive his client pay cheque higher At arsenal (obviously getting some benefit outta that), all i’m saying is, it’s more likely nasri will put pen to paper at arsenal than join united, however he may fuck off to city like various mercenaries have done, actually MOST Football players are mercenaries so he won’t be a first and certainly not the last.Who said berba will be playing? although i feel for the bulgarian, i actually think he may be spending sometime on the bench but then again the fact he sat on there all last season will spur him on into a mesmerising form.

Costas – this is where I am scratching my head, if united do decide to play 433 maybe in some european games, I could see united playing like this

    carrick
    fletcher nasri
    rooney hernandez young

That way I could see united playing, but that would be for barcelona

  362. fergie is the boss says:

But berbatov’s coming up to 30 and he is still inconsistent, while nasri is 23 and is only going to get better and better

  366. willierednut says:

This thing about 442/4411, do we still consider Rooney as a striker? Or, playing in the hole? I can’t see Rooney playing as a lone man up front. That position is locked down by Hernandez. Rooney plays off him. I think Fergie will tinker with the formation. whether it’s a 433, or my preferred formation, 4231. It’s all up in the air atm. I personally think, the 442 is too predictable. We’ve got to try something else IMO.

  367. Samuel - united WE stand says:

Who said young will just waltz into first 11? personally i think nani is far away the better player and if he could play to his maximum ability, improve his decision making and consistency like he did slightly last season then i don’t really think young will get near him.

However i think he can dislodge valencia, young is slightly technically better and more flexible than valencia who seems pretty rigid in style of player, he is a right winger and that’s it, can’t switch position but obviously does his job effectively, but we shall wait and see.Who said young will just waltz into first 11? personally i think nani is far away the better player and if he could play to his maximum ability, improve his decision making and consistency like he did slightly last season then i don’t really think young will get near him.

Mike, yes. Done deal. Six month loan

  369. Mes says:

Ok folks. I’m hearing from a very reliable source that Nasri is a done deal and will be announced on Monday. Source is inside the club and he’s been bang on with everything he’s told me recently.

I’m actually pretty happy about it.

  370. willierednut says:

MikeKelly12 – Scott Wootton has joined Peterboro as well.

  371. Kings says:

CedarsDevil – Hello buddy. ‘Such a pity he didn’t snap his knee in two when he fell down’. Great call mate. That would have capped a great night if his knees had snapped.

Balaji Sivaraman – It was actually a Freudian slip from the commentator. He was meant to say: ‘The arsehole of Chelsea’.

Just watched football’s greatest on Sky and Sir Bobby was on. Thoroughly enjoyable, some great footage. What a player. He finished off by saying: ‘You can write about your Barcelona’s and your Madrids, but none of them come even close when comparing to the History of Manchester United. Legend.

  372. Samuel - united WE stand says:

Willie – if hernandez wants to fully lock down that position and be a better player then his first touch, close control, holding and shielding of the ball all need to keep improving, they’re good but to elevate himself into a super world class striker then those need improving.

His instincts to sniff out a goal out of nothing is obviously in built, his movement is brilliant (needs to stop getting caught offside as often but obviously he has to take risks in breaking the trap, so that justifies it) and his desire to to to get to the ball first and score is fantastic but a player of his age can never get complacent, he knows he won’t because he is not the complete article, like i said for him to be world class At highest level, he has to have more to his game than just scoring.Willie – if hernandez wants to fully lock down that position and be a better player then his first touch, close control, holding and shielding of the ball all need to keep improving, they’re good but to elevate himself into a super world class striker then those need improving.

Cheers Mes…. As for Nasri, I’m still undicided, however, had a belting first half of the season and only seemed to slump when he got moved out wide to make way for Fabregas, who in my opinion didn’t play as well as Nasri had. I think once he leaves the shadow of Fabregas he might well produce?

  374. smartalex says:

  377. Mes says:

Mike, the way I see it, how many people come to us and don’t improve? Not many. If Nasri comes here and Sir Alex gets more out of him than Wenger did (a possibility not beyond my imagination for sure) then we have (possibly) got a very very good player.

  378. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@Mes, The question is not whether Nasri improves his game with United – He will. But is he the right player for us when the problems lie elsewhere?

Let’s get this straight – Nasri is a great prospect for a youngster but his best role is similar to Rooney’s – as a link between the MF and the lone striker/wingers. He has been tried as a winger and it has also proven to be effective because Wenger loves to transform strikers into wingers doesn’t he? However, he has yet to prove himself as an out and out central mid-fielder. He has not played a lot of games for Arsenal there and I am not sure he can take a game by the scruff of its neck and operate from CM.

Unfortunately, that is the kind of player we want. Rooney can do what Nasri does better and be more effective. Nasir is not being thought of as a winger at United because we are already jet, set and go there. So, the question is, where will Nasri operate if he does come here?

Of course, I am just a fan with a second grade knowledge of footballing tactics, if the master can work it out, I am not in a position to question it. However, until then, we can speculate the formation all we want because that is about the only thing we can do ATM.

  379. willierednut says:

Nasri sees his best position as a CM. That’s one of the reasons, he’s got pissed off at Arsenal. He can play in there, no doubt about that. In all honesty, we’ve all got opinions about what player can make the difference for us. The only opinion that matters is SAF. If he says Nasri’s the man, then so be it. If it isn’t him, I won’t crying into my beer about it.

  380. Mes says:

Samuel, such a good comment you said it thrice. Don’t shoot the messenger mate. Just what I’m told from someone who has been bang on the money recently. Bang. On.

As for Nasri. Of course we all know we’re desperate for the midfielder that Hargo would have been and Nasri is not going to plug that gap but he’s still a fuckin excellent player that I’d be happy to have.

Bottom line is I trust Sir Alex. Every man and his dog knows what we need. I’ll not entertain that the boss doesn’t have any plan for it. Of course there’s always the chance that the plan doesn’t come to be but if a player like Nasri is available and you can, then why not?

  381. parryheid says:

    Mes.
I would find your inside the club quote highly doubtful, as Gary Neville stated a short time ago not even players or staff are told anything about incoming players.

  382. willierednut says:

Lawman was spot on about De gea’s medical.

  383. King Eric says:

samuel – As much as I dislike the little cunt Nasri, there is a damn good chance he could be joining United. A huge chance actually. As much as journo’s get it wrong, usually when the rumours are this rife they get it spot on. The Rooney story, De Gea, Young and so on.

I really dont get why some do not rate Valencia. He is a fucking beast. Tough, does not fuck about, inch perfect crosses, powerful and pacey. No frills . A top United player.

  384. King Eric says:

smartalex – Hello mate. Spot on. Cesc is indeed a fucking moron. That AVB cunt is getting way too much respect despite one fucking season in the Portugese league. Will be found out big time next season.

  385. willierednut says:

Is Valencia at the Copa America?

  386. moscow JT says:

@ balaji. Why didn’t you ask the same question when thiago was linked? Is it b’cos he’s a barca player?

  387. Kings says:

Valencia is a monster of a player. Pace, power and great deliveries into the box. Just ask Rooney, who was more pleased than anyone when he returned from his season threatening injury. Great signing in my opinion.

  388. Mes says:

Ha, only joking folks, actually it’s all about the Nigeria News Desk apparently!

  389. Zelh says:

yeah lawman was spot on about de gea and let’s see if he’s right again.

  390. Costas says:

    @willie

    Yes he is.

  391. parryheid says:

There is absolutely no chance Tony Valencia will come under pressure, that right wing position is his. It’s Nani who better up his game because Young will be moving on the left without any of the dithering and fucking about of Nani in fact I reckon Nani is surplus to requirements.

  392. willierednut says:

    Cheers Costas.

  393. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@moscow JT, Before you go making statements like that, you should read this blog more often. I don’t give an ounce of interest to these rumours. I am speculating about Nasri because the interest is very real apparently. In Thiago’s case, the interest was not real, so I never even wrote a post about him in the first place.

  394. Costas says:

Assuming Eduador make it to the next stage, Valencia will be with them until July 16 or 17. The tournament ends on the 24th. I don’t like the fact that after all he’s been through he doesn’t get a chance to rest this summer. I guess Fergie will have to see to that.

Also, seems kind of weird that Ando or the twins didn’t make the Brazil squad. Didn’t know that Brazil had many players better than them.

  395. Mes says:

Tell you what else is interesting. What Arsenal are going to be like next season without Nasri, Fabregas, Cliché and now possibly Van Persie. That could be fun.

  396. Ash says:

I think out of nani and young one will play as an attacking midfielder rather than as a wiinger.
I feel fergie will play all three and not bench anyone.Or they will rotate among themselves.
As far as nasri is concerned I won’t mind him in our squad.Frankly speaking he was phenomenal for arsenal for most of the part last season. He will for sure improve under Sir alex and will become a man from boy.

  397. parryheid says:

I can understand Anderson not being there as his passport would be checked on entry and found to be counterfeit.

  398. YorYor says:

Nani surplus to requirements? Talk about fans being pampered. Unbelievable really. The only ones surplus at United are the ones that SAF shows the door. Until SAF does, no one really has any right to talk shite about players who don our jersey and give their best. Their best may not be good enough for some, though it seems.

@King Eric, I’d disagree about Valencia delivering “inch perfect crosses”. The only one who delivers inch perfect crosses used to be Beckham. No one else comes close, so don’t praise Valencia for something he isn’t really capable of. Not that I’m not rating him though, don’t get me wrong.

  399. willierednut says:

Costas – I’m happy they’ve missed out. With Hernandez and Tony v playing throughout the summer, they will need a rest. At least the twins and Anderson can have a full pre – season.

  400. byron1970 says:

For reasons that don’t concern us I’d just like to point how overrated Clichy is as player. I don’t know what City think they are getting but Arsenal will not be any worse off for losing this guy. I can remember Match of Day pointing out some of his quite embarrassing defending against us when we hammered them at the Emirates. And on the many many times I’ve seen him playing his defending is average at best. This guy wouldn’t even be a second choice left back for us. First and foremost a defenders job is to defend. Percisely the reason I don’t want us to lose O’Shea, who knows how to defend and very rarely makes any mistakes. Evra, Fabio, Rafael, and O’Shea are better full backs than Clichy. Typical City, their transfer policy is dictated by the back pages.

  401. Costas says:

Yeah, but how does Lucas still fool people that he is Brazilian? Or a footballer for that matter?

  402. Costas says:

    @willie

That’s true. And in reality, that’s all that matters to me. If the Brazil coach wants to overlook them, that means less fly miles for them.

  403. RD54 says:

    @mes
I totally agreed with you, hope your news are true, but difference people had difference thought, for me been a united fan 28years,I just care about the trophies ,I welcome every good player join us .

  404. byron1970 says:

Costas – I can believe I’m about to stick up for a Liverpool player but I have to disagree with you about Lucas. He’s actually better than people give him credit for. He does a similar job to Carrick and does it quite well. He’s one of those “you don’t miss him til he’s gone” type of players. Fuck Liverpool by the way (just felt the need to say that too).

  405. King Eric says:

YorYor – Hhmm. Think Rooney may disagree with you about Valencia’s crosses.

  406. King Eric says:

Furthermore I will praise him how “I ” see fit. In my opinion he does deliver inch perfect crosses most of the time.

  407. King Eric says:

byron – Spot on mate about Clichy. He is fucking shit. He was decent enough three seasons ago but he has been poor the last two or so. Infact Arsenal see him as their weak link. Third or fourth time lucky for Citeh in that left back position and they still cant get it right. Clowns.

  408. Sparkz says:

Wouldn’t really be disappointed if we DIDN’T get Nasi tbh. I think it’s a bit of a gamble- he’s been in this country 3 years and never played in the middle of the park. I know he’s had the likes of Fabregas and Wilshere playing instead……..but I’m not interested in the reasons why. Fact is, he’s in no way whatsoever a proven Premier League central midfielder. And with Scholesy (proven midfielder) retiring- I really think we need to get someone who’s done the business there before.

We’ve already got a couple of “developing” midfielders- Anderson and Cleverley. I see no reason why we should spend money to get another one. We need somebody who’s proven that they can play central midfield, preferably in the Premier League. Which is why I’d go for Modric- however that deal looks dead in the water. Heck, I’d even go for somebody like Arteta tbh.

And before people say Nasri played in central midfield when Fabregas was injured- no he did not. He played in Fabregas’s position- attacking mid/just off the front man. We’ve already got somebody who plays there in Rooney.

What we need is someone who’s shown they can cut the mustard playing in a 2 man midfield- and I’m sorry, Nasri hasn’t shown that. He might be a top player in that position- MIGHT is the operative word there though.

  409. willierednut says:

  412. Clint-IamYourPapii says:

I prefer us with 4-2-3-1 It was awesome in the CL a few years back against the likes of Roma and AC Milan in 2006-07 and has been used quite a lot in europe to match the ability of european midfields.

Also to remind everyone else doubting Rooneys ability as a lone striker. Remember 2009-10, He was monster up front. He got 30+ goals, assisted many goals, Ran around like a mad man but still found time and space in the box to scores headers, tap in’s, bangers and won many penalties. This was all from being a lone striker, with a overflowing cup of confidence and with the support of Valencia, fletcher, Nani who deserve credit for Wazza’s form that year. He is our talisman and at times we was honestly a one man team that year.

Chico is still very young so on the odd ocasion i’d like to see Rooney as a Lone striker when on form because he will have guys like Nani, valencia, young, fletch, ando+Park supporting Him. Also it will help having more man in midfield to combact oppostions 3-man midfield.

Rooney 2009-10 – He was like the human torch, on fire and untouchable. He kept out berba for long spells and I’d like to see more of this prolific rooney. I believe next season he’ll hit 20-25 goals no sweat. Its about hitting 30 for him.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1J4xiz94Sw or my fave:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3wBLzwU-iM

If 2 strikers can get 20+ goals, 1 striker get 10+ and the midfield need to net more goals themselves

I forgive you wayne …it took me a while to get over what he did but i miss watching the lad this pre season already. :P

  413. Clint-IamYourPapii says:

all my comments are awaiting moderation….I didnt swear, nothing offensive just Man crush comments about rooney, berb, valencia, fletch and those who was underrated in 2009-10 who finished 1 point from top of the table.

oh look its working now

  415. Costas says:

Sparkz summed up my objections about Nasri quite well.

    @byron1970

Sorry I had to make you praise a Liverpool player. Don’t know. Maybe his role is similar to that of Carrick’s and you tend not to notice him during games, but I don’t think he is as good. And I don’t get why he’s chosen ahead of Anderson for the Brazil squad, but to each their own.

  416. willierednut says:

Spark – Fergie will address all your concerns, if Nasri signs on the dotted line. Until then, think happy thoughts.

  417. byron1970 says:

Costas – No apology needed, I shouldn’t have gone there. Let’s never speak of this again.

  418. arijc says:

Nasri can play in central midfield. He does so for the French national side alongside Yann M’Vila. Would be quite a coup if we could get both. I hope we get M’Vila for the more mid field enforcer role. He does look a quality player and has publicly stated, for what it’s worth, that he dreams of playing for United.

  419. Costas says:

Heard someone else suggest M’Vila too. Haven’t seen him play, but from what I read he is a 21 year old defensive midfielder. Don’t know if this guy in particular is the answer, but this is the type of player we should be looking for imo. We could get a more creative midfielder, but that wouldn’t solve the problem we had at the back last season where we averaged a goal conceded per game.

  420. Fred says:

Lawman10 – thank you for the inside info. I’m starting to come around to the idea of Sharkface playing for us. Forgive and forget, that’s what I say. 8)

I’ve just ordered 500 of these at a discount price: http://www.echidnasontheloose.com.au/images/P/sharkmask_web.jpg I’m hoping to do a roaring trade outside OT on matchdays. Allez le Shark!

  421. Mes says:

Don’t see anything that says that IF we buy Nasri he’s going to play a DM role. I think it would just a good signing, not the signing of the player that’s going to fill that hole we all know needs filling. That issue would still need to be addressed, surely.

  422. Dandivine7 says:

I think by signing Nasri, Sir Alex wants to use a diff system next season by playing a higher line up the pitch, Nasri and Rooney playing behind Hernandez. Both are capable of splitting defences, runs into the box, interchanging positions, also keeping the ball too and dictating play, playing in the two wingers causing them to drift behind the defences. Considering the versatility of Young, Nani’s penetration and Valencia’s robust approach, United might score tons next season. This leaves Carrick to do the job of mopping up and shielding the defence. I think by going for Nasri who’s not the ‘box to box’ type people are talking of, Sir Alex is going for possession style football that keeps teams stuck in their own half of the pitch. At this stage its all speculation though, I wont be suprised if Someone else turns up at Bridge Water Hospital Next Week… I think by signing Nasri, Sir Alex wants to use a diff system next season by playing a higher line up the pitch, Nasri and Rooney playing behind Hernandez. 425. byron1970 says:

I’d just like to get something off my chest. I fucking hate the term attacking midfielder or defensive midfielder. Whatever happened to midfielders being good at both. I don’t remember, when they were at their peak, Keane or Scholes (or Butt for that matter) ever being one or the other. Midfielders, or at least world class one, should be good at both things. They should look to get in the box as often as possible and track back when needed. It’s why you need to be fit as fuck to play there and is what striking up a good midfielder partnership should be all about. Building an understanding of when one should go and the other should sit, and granted one might be more prone to get in the box than the other. I’m sick of this whole, “he doesn’t score many goals because that’s not his job” bullshit. Fair enough when you get a bit older, as in Scholes’ case, you can’t get forward as much as you once could. But when you’re at your peak you should be able to score your fair share of goals and defend too. All this defensive midfield horse shit seemed to grow since the days Makelele joined Chelsea. That’s why Anderson drives me fucking mental. He has the whole package if he’d just get his fucking act together. There, rant over.

  426. Mes says:

    Byron @ 15:21

Ace point that mate. Totally agree. It has to be said also that watching Barcelona, it’s like watching a team full of world class midfielders. They just ping it about until whoever is in front of goal at the time when it gets up there puts it away.

Yes I know it’s not that straight forward but generally that’s how it looks to me.

  427. dannysoya says:

byron excellent post. Why can’t midfielders do BOTH. i mean to me that is the definition of a proper central midfielder someone who can attack and defend excellently. That is the kind of midfielder i want. I think a midfielder at United who typifies this is Darren fletcher. he bombs forward and also tracks back EXCELLENTLY. now that is a proper midfielder.

  428. parryheid says:

Look if Nasri is signed by United it is for one purpose only and that is he is seen as a Direct replacement for Scholes and if it works out I will be delighted the position is filled.

  429. WHAT ??? says:

Easy Reds, not really bothered if we sign Nasri or not, but if we did, does he suit our brand of football as a Winger? No point him being great for Arse and Shit for us. He’s not more effective than Tony on the right, or Young on the left, and the thought of Nasri starting ahead of Nani gives me headache.

Then theres the option of Nasri as a central midfielder shielding Rio and Vidic… Bollocks Lol, he’s hardly gonna get stuck in is he? Im starting to think Anderson may eventually become the replacement for the 30 y/o Carrick. Ando could be like Carrick in his prime but only getting better.

The only role left for Nasri at United is slap bang in the middle as AM (Lol – Deep Breaths Byron!!)
Nasri, the little cunt, could possibly squeeze in a 4-5-1….

    ……………Rooney
    ……….Nasri…..Nani
    Young ……………..Valencia
    …….Carrick/Anderson

    Subs: Giggs, Park, Fletcher, Cleverly,

    Or even a 4-4-2…..

    …………Hernandez
    …………..Rooney
    ……………..Nasri
    Young………………Nani/Valencia
    ……Carrick/Anderson

Fuck Knows Fellas (and Ladies) Eitherway, whether we get HIM or another midfielder (OR NOBODY) imo we can accommodate ONE more AM, or another DM and push Anderson into the AM role. I just don’t wanna see Nani leave for Spain (Parryheid – surplus to requirements my arse!) Can’t wait for this Window to close its doing my fucking head in!!!

  430. byron1970 says:

dannysoya – Good shout with Fletcher. During his best ever season for us he’s actually on record as saying he consciously made the desison to get into the box more often. Well fair play to him but I’m sorry as a United midfielder I’d expect nothing less.

It’s why I believe Carrick does what he does, because he’s not good enough to do both. I don’t want to rip on Carrick because I’ve a lot of time for him. He is what he is and he gives his all for the jersey which is all I ask of any United player when they take to the pitch. But the fact is he was never and never will be in the class of Keane or Scholes. It’s a tough ask of any player to live up to that standard but life’s a bitch and that’s the standard that should be required to play for our great club. In my lifetime there’s been Robson, Ince (dare I say it), Keane, Scholes, and hopefully one day we’ll say Anderson. Before anyone proceeds to tare me a new asshole, I still like Carrick and don’t want him to be sold, he’s a handy player to have around.

  431. willierednut says:

He’ll play, where Fergie tells him to play. That simple really. It doesn’t effect Nani’s position in the team. It could be the manager wants more expressive players in the team. Nani is most certainly one of those. He’s got great balance and quick change of feet. Can beat players, with ease. Nasri is similar in that sense. I don’t got all the answers. The boss decides who’s good enough to play for United. Not me, or anyone else. I said a few weeks ago, that I’m looking forward to seeing United play next season. That’s still the same, with or without the shark faced one.

  432. captaink9 says:

On Nasri, am not keen on him as he is lightweight and can get bullied but if Sir signs him then so be it he knows best. He’s premiership proven, needs no time to adjust..
Plus its another player who can’t hurt our challenge for number 20 like the Young signing.
    Believe in Sir Alex.

Anyone play Fifa ultimate team on PS3 here?

  433. parryheid says:

    WHAT ???

You disagree great, you at least give your reason same as i give mine and like you I think I’m right.

  434. WHAT ??? says:

@Mes, Danny, Byron – With Barca their Keeper could push forward if they were feeling cheeky, thats how well they hold onto the ball. We play a different game, so a DM is helpful for us, we’ve won 4 titles in 5 years with Carrick hardly ever stepping foot in the final third, and look at his delivery for Ronaldo. DM works fine for us. I get the point tho, Pep’s done a good job, BUT I’ll reserve judgement – Rjikaard is a clever manager, thats basically still his team.

Over paying for Villa and swapping Eto for Ibramovic, thats Pep.

  435. Clint-IamYourPapii says:

Until their is unhide-able interest in sharkface like there was with Young & De Gea, I am mute on on the possibility of the Buck tooth shark signing.

David De Haye will be great sight to see flying across goal + punching balls out of the area for at least a decade. :)

  436. WHAT ??? says:

Parryheid – you know its nothing mate.

  437. Mes says:

    @ What

Don’t get me wrong mate, I wasn’t saying we should try and turn ourselves into Barca, just pointing out that that’s what I feel when I watch them. And we still need a very very good midfielder. Tunni could be the one but it’s too early to tell.

His next six months are going to be important ones.

  438. WHAT ??? says:

@Willierednut – easy mate, if Nasri arrives, and Alex finds a way to play him, Nani, Young and Valencia in the same team, 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 and rotating the wings, that would be a sight to behold. We’d have even better width, and a bags of talent in midfield. Still, wouldn’t be surprised if he was just after more money and reassurances from Arsenal. They look like they’ll get Samba, might even get Shay Given. WIlshire and Ramsey are decent players. Add a solid striker, replace Cesc and it stops looking like a Crisis for the Bank Manger – if he puts his hands in his pocket this summer for once!

Really wouldn’t be surprised if Nasri stayed exactly where he is. Wouldn’t be surprised if he arrived either. Baffled.

  439. willierednut says:

WHAT??? – I thought it was a ploy to get a better contract, but he’s gong mate. Unless Wenger pulls off a last minute miracle, he’s off. Only a question, who to?

  440. Fred says:

    …and the answer? MUFC 8)

  441. WHAT ??? says:

@ Mes – Yeah he’s gotta prove it on loan mate, and it will put some hairs on his chest! Good luck to him. Scholes was a true Midfielder, always getting back in his prime and obviously always a threat going forward, but even then Butt always did his fair share of enforcing to help other players get forward as well. It would be weird to see United without a somebody sitting deep reading the game. The way we play, we need it.

  442. willierednut says:

Fred – Blackpool! Straight swap for Adam! :)

  443. WHAT ??? says:

    Lol @ he’s gong.

Well in that case mate im hoping Alex can fit Him, Nani, Tony and Young into the same midfield with Carrick/Ando sitting deep. Thats if he doesn’t go Chelsea of course! Fuck knows what City are doing, but I bet if Nasri was available for 30 Million he’d be in Sky Blue by now. What a Club!

  444. Zibbie says:

So much to catch up on, just wanted to say Jello.

  445. Fred says:

LOL Blackpool will never go for it, Adam’s too good. Seriously though, Adam has found his perfect level at Blackpool, whereas Samir Nasri is the kind of arrogant ponce who wouldn’t want to sully himself by playing for such a club. That’s why Adam is much more valuable to Blackpool than Nasri would be. It’s the attitude!

Our players won’t let him behave that way though. 8)

  446. WHAT ??? says:

@CaptainK9 – Whats your game then?

  447. willierednut says:

    Full metal Zibbie!

  448. Zibbie says:

Hey willie and all that are Red. My lady was frisky we never got to the second of the double feature. I will watch it alone sometime today.

  449. captaink9 says:

    @ what
    What’s my game then?
Don’t know what u mean by this.

  450. willierednut says:

Zibbie – You can’t ignore a frisky woman mate lol.

  451. Zibbie says:

    @captian9 fuck off.

  452. Dandivine7 says:

I guess everything will be wrapped up by the time United Travel for The US Tour. Looking Forward To The New Season!

  453. Zibbie says:

cap9, I see your name and skip reading your shit as I’m sure many do here.

  454. Fred says:

    Kongratulations to Kvitova.

  455. Zibbie says:

Cap9, your mamma got caller ID, because she is sick of talking to you.

  456. Zibbie says:

Business done by the US tour how cool is that.

  457. Zibbie says:

Cap9, is a captain of a 2 man dingy and his 1st mate is a blow up doll made to look like Ricky Martin.

  458. Zibbie says:

What a team, what a club and what a Gaffer.
    Glory Glory Man Utd.

  459. WHAT ??? says:

    @CaptainK9

Well im not talking about PlayStation am I? Don’t worry about it Cap, blog on.

  460. captaink9 says:

I talk about footy the same as the rest and other subjects the same as the rest. U dont have to anwser me if you dont like my question..
I know there is probably a few gamers on here so id like to play them, see what they have in there locker.

  461. King Eric says:

Byron. Absolutely spot on about midfield roles. I have said the exact thing. What is all this fucking CAM and DM nonsense? When I were a lad a midfielder did both. Got up in support of the forward and defended when necassary. It does my swede in.

  462. King Eric says:

By the way the “when I were a lad“ line was tongue in cheek.

Willie. Alright mate. Don’t suppose you have one ear on talkshit do you? Transfer tavern. Just wondered what the journos were saying as I can’t listen at minute.

  463. Dandivine7 says:

Hearing about interest in M’Vila In France. Is The Lad A Midfielder Or Winger Or What Hmmm Transfer Season…So Many Rumours…

  464. Mikekelly12 says:

    Byron & King Eric
I know what you mean. Backing up your argument just think Edwards, Robson & Keane!

  465. willierednut says:

King Eric – Paul McCarthy was on mate. He said, Nasri wants to join United. It could play out for a while, because Arsenal want replacements in first. City haven’t made a bid for him. He’s not one of there main targets. City are probably trying to push the price up. Don’t think they’re really interested tbh.

  466. Zibbie says:

It has been a few weeks since I have mentioned, how much I learn from all the insight of life long footballers and Man Utd fans. With true understanding of this great club, giving a perspective to me I could get few if any other place. Such as my man crush on SAF and how he goes about his business. He runs the club not the players. Then I learn of Busby and more and realize the club is even bigger the Dr. SAF. And things like George Best and the #7, from Robbo to Cantana and Becks and CR7 (my spelling is worse then bad, my bad). Thanks to all of the RoM regulars, to many to mention scores of you.

  467. willierednut says:

Those rumors about M’Villa came from caughtoffside website. Need I say anymore.

  468. Zibbie says:

Mass exodus of biblical per-portions in Gomer Land, Cese, Clichy, Nasri and more to follow. I first stated to learn how to use the computer 6 years ago, to learn more about football and the Fox Soccer web site was my first home. The Gunners fans were insufferable for the most part. I teases them of a 40 year journey wondering the desert wilderness of 40 year trophy less curse. It is up to 6 years now.

  469. Dandivine7 says:

If Nasri puts in a transfer request next week before Arsenal travel to Asia, things might get sorted before then. I certainly hope so because (1) pre season does so much in terms of orientation for new signings (2) long drawn out transfer sagas tend to cause distractions and unnecessary friction between clubs

  470. King Eric says:

Willie. Thanks mate. I just knew you would have caught it. That’s what a lot are saying now. He wants to come to United. Let’s not forget all this goes back weeks to when he twattered that he would join if the interest from United was real and genuine. May have to change my views on him at this rate. Fuck sake!

Zibbie. Fair play to you pal. That you love to learn all about united and its history. Nice one. You seem to have a genuine love for the club.

  471. Zibbie says:

@Byron and King Eric spot on about “un” CAM or CDM just CM’S just ballers. SAF has multi-positional players on the team. They can just play Football, give them a job to do, explain it and watch them play football. Giggs plays FB as Tony V did. The twins play wingers against the Gunners. Carrick and Fletcher at CB. ECT. ECT.

  472. Zibbie says:

Thanks King Eric I do have a fanatical affair going on here.

  473. YorYor says:

M’Vila is nothing but a Carrick, and I’m not even sure he does the same job better, if even at the same level.
King Eric, perhaps it would be good to have some stats to rely on for both of us to look at, but how many goals have resulted from Valencia’s crosses out of his total attempts? I know Nani’s record is probably far worse. I’ve been more impressed with Valencia cutting in rather than him going out wide and crossing the ball.

  474. willierednut says:

King Eric – You can keep on hating him, until he joins! It’s not an easy transfer to pull off. We’re trying buy a player from one of our rivals. Then you have city in the back ground, cunts.

  475. Zibbie says:

King Eric and all true Reds that get so sick of cunts on here like Cap9 and YorYor, just a thought.
    You can’t fix stupid.
Tony V is awesome and winners do not care about stats, just wins. He and Rooney dance well together and bring out the best in each others game.

  476. Dandivine7 says:

Seems King Eric is already (reluctantly) warming up to Nasri. Hahaha. @Willie, thanks. Caught offside? Hahaha with their classic offside stories!

  477. Zibbie says:

willie I have a feeling Jones will grab his chances and force SAF’S hand on him playing more. At CB, FB or in front of the back 4 like Carrick. An attacking flowing interchangeable choice of Giggs, Nani, Tony V, Young, Andro, Park, Fletcher, Cleverly, Wellbeck, Lil Pea, Rooney (Berba?) and Nasri? Hummmm with overlapping FB play of Evra and the twins. I have learned I do not have to understand how SAF thinks just back his moves. I have opinions on Nasri and I’m puzzled by it. But if and sounds like when he comes. Fucking AAAAAA!!!!!!!!

  478. dannysoya says:

Apparently samir nasri wants to join united? Never thought this day would come. WOW.

  479. slim says:

where are you guys getting this inside info on nasri from ? have i missed anything in the last 24?

  480. CedarsDevil says:

    Evening all true REDS

Some good reads here fellas and good to see Paul Parker posting….. So it seems the Nasri rumor is hotting up!

  481. mikekelly12 says:

Zibbie – Good lad! Don’t know how old you are or how long you’ve followed United, however, your love for them will soon manifest itself in to an obsession followed by a natural way of life, like part of a family. Drink it in my friend, our journies are many, sometimes sad, often glorious, but the joy they bring is second to NONE! We will never die!!

  482. Zibbie says:

@Slim Lawman 10 called the De Gea medical days before it happened on the day he said it would. He is calling for Nasri medical for Tuesday. And other insiders.

@mikekelly12 Thanks I love the addictions to all that is Red.
I’m 49 and the BEPL came to my Cable system in 2002 in Dubuque Iowa and became a Man Utd fan soon after.

  483. mikekelly12 says:

Zibbie – Never too old to join the family, good to have you on board fella.

  485. willierednut says:

slim – You been living under a rock? Lol. Rumors everywhere mate, about Nasri joining United. A few well informed sources, lets just say. Nothing done as of yet though.

  486. Zibbie says:

Cedars, top notch mate. Law, Best and Sir Bobby……
I saw him in an interview this last year, I loved his humor and his take on life.

  487. Zibbie says:

Slim is in the Geiko commercial. The second guy under the rock. hehehehehehe

  488. smartalex says:

It’s the club that makes the player’s career.”

I’m hoping for Haye, but I fear he won’t have the power to stop Klitschko’s usual game plan. But worse fighters than Haye has beaten Wladimir. He’s been in the canvas 11 times throughout his career. Wlad has a glass jaw compared to his brother Vitali who’s never been knockout (2 losses but one because of a cut and 1 because of arm injury).

  565. Zibbie says:

Cedars it is great mate. I have it on right now.
smartalex if I had I would have ran with Sam Kenison and my heart would have blow up with drugs and money. I lived in San Diego from 85 to 90. I went up to LA a lot and had friends in low level showbiz jobs. My friends called me up one night and said get your ass up here I saw a band last night and there playing Sat. It was Gun and Roses and the bar held like 500 people. We went to an after party where Slash was and he was gone on H. For me never a drug of choice.

  566. Zelh says:

Colbert – right Wladimir has a glass jaw but so does haye. Haye can only win if he kind of assaults klitschko. otherwise he will be struggling with klitschko’s extreme strong jab.

  567. Zibbie says:

smartalex it is never free, I receive 1000 fold from the RoM world.

  568. Cyril Sneer says:

I want Ivan Drago to win.

  569. CedarsDevil says:

    Zibbie

I am glad you took it in the right spirit buddy….. It is really funny

I hope others will get to see it too

  570. willierednut says:

Let me tell ya something, when Ivan drago gets pinged on the chin, that’s light out. Hayemaker gonna be be too quick for him. He’s in for a

  571. Zibbie says:

The one person that impressed me is when I meet Jack Nicholson at a friends house in Del Mar he was down for the horse races and needed party favorites. He hung out about 2 hours. I have meet Senators, Presidents ( My dad grew up in Northern MN with some big political people) and Governors. And some big Hollywood types, the 2 that got me were Walter Payton my Chicago Bear running back hero in San Diego and Jack.

  572. Colbert says:

    @Zelh

Yes. that’s true. Someone said that Haye should turn the match into a street fight because he won’t be able to outbox Wladimir because of his strong jab and good defensive game. I kind of agree with that. But I don’t know if Haye is the guy who can take punishment and still come back. Haye has been saying that he’s going to come out guns blazing but I don’t know if he has the balls to do that. He won’t win this match similar tactics as he used in the Valuev match because Wlad is much more mobile.

  573. Clint-IamYourPapii says:

I hope Clit-chK’O Knocks out David de Haye in the 2nd round but Haye bounces back to knock him out in the final round and win by TKO’ . :)

Hey Wille Do You Know who I am mate? You Cant Talk to me like that…Im Kenny Dalglish FFS.

Oops I meant Forget it the main point is erm i Forget….send The Kings….I’ll turn them into The Man That Would be King….Sean Connery style with the class of Michael Caine

  574. Zibbie says:

Cedars in the US Jay Leno has a late night show and he goes out to talk to people on the street, fuck you can’t fix stupid.

    willie DOWN GOES DRAGO!

  575. willierednut says:

    Cut me mick.

  576. Zibbie says:

Time to hit the River, peace out RoM.

  577. Zibbie says:

You got it Rock, now go out there and KILL’EM!!!

  578. Clint-IamYourPapii says:

  582. Devil310 says:

    Fuck I miss United!

  583. smartalex says:

CedarsDevil – thanks for the link, that was funny! When it ended The next video offered is
“a american interviews stupid australians” no doubt proving that StatesideAussie must be their coalition’s wisest man.

  584. Clint-IamYourPapii says:

Why shouldn’t I work for the N.S.A.? That’s a tough one, but I’ll take a shot. Say I’m working at N.S.A. Somebody puts a code on my desk, something nobody else can break. Maybe I take a shot at it and maybe I break it. And I’m real happy with myself, ’cause I did my job well. But maybe that code was the location of some rebel army in North Africa or the Middle East. Once they have that location, they bomb the village where the rebels were hiding and fifteen hundred people I never met, never had no problem with, get killed. Now the politicians are sayin’, “Oh, send in the Marines to secure the area” ’cause they don’t give a shit. It won’t be their kid over there, gettin’ shot. Just like it wasn’t them when their number got called, ’cause they were pullin’ a tour in the National Guard. It’ll be some kid from Southie takin’ shrapnel in the ass. And he comes back to find that the plant he used to work at got exported to the country he just got back from. And the guy who put the shrapnel in his ass got his old job, ’cause he’ll work for fifteen cents a day and no bathroom breaks. Meanwhile, he realizes the only reason he was over there in the first place was so we could install a government that would sell us oil at a good price. And, of course, the oil companies used the skirmish over there to scare up domestic oil prices. A cute little ancillary benefit for them, but it ain’t helping my buddy at two-fifty a gallon. And they’re takin’ their sweet time bringin’ the oil back, of course, and maybe even took the liberty of hiring an alcoholic skipper who likes to drink martinis and fuckin’ play slalom with the icebergs, and it ain’t too long ’til he hits one, spills the oil and kills all the sea life in the North Atlantic. So now my buddy’s out of work and he can’t afford to drive, so he’s got to walk to the fuckin’ job interviews, which sucks ’cause the shrapnel in his ass is givin’ him chronic hemorrhoids. And meanwhile he’s starvin’, ’cause every time he tries to get a bite to eat, the only blue plate special they’re servin’ is North Atlantic scrod with Quaker State. So what did I think? I’m holdin’ out for somethin’ better. I figure fuck it, while I’m at it why not just shoot my buddy, take his job, give it to his sworn enemy, hike up gas prices, bomb a village, club a baby seal, hit the hash pipe and join the National Guard? I could be elected president.

  585. CedarsDevil says:

    Papii

That was an ‘ouch’ of a post buddy

  586. Clint-IamYourPapii says:

Boxing is dead. Favourite ever fighter – Arturo Gatti. I love him as much as I love United – that’s a big thing to say – so before anyone questions my love for United…watch Arturo fight and you’ll see why I fell in love with the guy…YouTube will show you some highlights but you have to see a full fight to appreciate him. Gatti vs Ruelas, Rodriguez, Robinson and Ward. Great fights. Great man.

Other great fighters in the last 10 years…Barrera & Morales….Haye isn’t in the same class as these guys. Fuckin overhyped cunt

  593. TonyBee says:

    QUICK FART GAG….

A young bloke pays a prostitute so he can experience his first taste of sex. The prostitute suggests that he start with a 69.
He decides to give it a try.
The prostitute leads him to a room, gets undressed, and instructs the young man to eat her pussy. Unfortunately, just as he starts she farts.
The man quietly says to himself, “phew”, but he goes down on her again.
A moment later she farts again. He says “phew”, but continues.
    Once more she farts.
This time he immediately gets up and starts walking out.
She asks him what’s wrong, and he replies “I’ll be fucked if I get another 66 of them.”

    EVERYONE A GEM :lol;

Costas. Hello mate. Ha. They really do scrape the barrel don’t they the Mail. Worse than the redtops. Making out like Fergie has conversed with them but its the usual shite. Anyone would think the only three midfielders in world football were Modric, Nasri and Sneijder. Bob Cass is a moustacheo’d geordie wanker.

  602. Cyril Sneer says:

    Nice one Drago.

  603. Zelh says:

  606. Costas says:

I know. But Levy is not one to let facts get in the way of a good story, so I could see him reporting us and then getting embarassed as usual.

    @King Eric

Hey pal. That was too blatant and too riduclous even for their standars. I was wondering who this Knob C-ass was. I thought you might know him. ;)

  607. Clint-IamYourPapii says:

So if I asked you about art, you’d probably give me the skinny… on every art book ever written. Michelangelo? You know a lot about him. Life’s work, political aspirations. Him and the pope. Sexual orientation. The whole works, right? I bet you can’t tell me what it smells like in the Sistine Chapel. You never actually stood there and looked up at that beautiful ceiling. Seeing that. If I ask you about women, you’ll probably give me a syllabus of your personal favorites. You may have even been laid a few times. But you can’t tell me what it feels like to wake up next to a woman… and feel truly happy. You’re a tough kid. I ask you about war, you’d probably ah throw Shakespeare at me, right? “Once more into the breach, dear friends.” But you’ve never been near one. You’ve never held your best friend’s head in your lap… and watched him gasp his last breath lookin’ to you for help. If I asked you about love, you’d probably quote me a sonnet, but you’ve never looked at a woman and been totally vulnerable. Known someone that could level you with her eyes. Feelin’ like God put an angel on Earth just for you, who could rescue you from the depths of hell. And you wouldn’t know what it’s like to be her angel, to have that love for her be there forever. Through anything. Through cancer. And you wouldn’t know about sleepin’ sittin’ up in a hospital room… for two months, holding her hand, because the doctors could see in your eyes… that the terms “visiting hours” don’t apply to you. You don’t know about real loss, ’cause that only occurs when you love something more than you love yourself. I doubt you’ve ever dared to love anybody that much. I look at you. I don’t see an intelligent, confident man. I see a cocky, scared shitless kid. But you’re a genius, Will. No one denies that. No one could possibly understand the depths of you. But you presume to know everything about me because you saw a painting of mine. You ripped my fuckin’ life apart. You’re an orphan, right? Do you think that I’d know the first thing about how hard your life has been – how you feel, who you are – because I read Oliver Twist? Does that encapsulate you? Personally, I don’t give a shit about all that, because – You know what? I can’t learn anything from you… I can’t read in some fuckin’ book. Unless you wanna talk about you, who you are. And I’m fascinated. I’m in. But you don’t wanna do that, do you sport? You’re terrified of what you might say. Your move, chief.

  608. willierednut says:

Good will hunting Papii, fuck off lol.

  609. Zelh says:

nasri really has rejected a new contract.

    that’s his statement.

“Money has never been my motivation. I have always taken my decisions from a football point of view,” Nasri told News of the World.

“I don’t want to sign for a club where I wouldn’t be playing the football that I like, where I wouldn’t feel happy, just for the sake of money. We already earn huge wages. The priority is to make a big career and to win titles. This is more important than everything else. I know the value and the meaning of money.

“With no titles under your belt, you can’t be in the list for the Ballon D’Or. I came to England to get trophies because I haven’t won anything in my career, apart from an Under-17 European Championship in 2004.

“We all need to get out of our comfort zone to grow up and test ourselves.

  610. captaink9 says:

Glad that Haye bastard got beat, typical English arsehole.

  611. willierednut says:

Rai – Gatti was a warrior mate. Those fights with Ward, will go down in boxing folklore. My all time favourite boxer is no surprise mate. Mike Tyson. He fucked up outside of boxing, though I think he was set up for that rape charge. From 86 to 90, he was a force in the ring. the problem Tyson had, he lost touch and fell out with his old trainer, Kevin Rooney. Of course, every cunt wanted a piece of him then. He was a money making machine. Once that leech Don king got his mitts on him, that was the end of the Tyson era.

  612. Clint-IamYourPapii says:

no willy that was adressed to you….which why I called you Will in my previous comment. ;)

  613. Utd4life says:

@zelh..That’s quite a statement from Nasri..I’m kinda 80% convinced that he will come to Utd..Lets see what happens next week..

  614. BajanBoy says:

  616. StatesideAussie says:

Zelh … so I guess that not only is Nasri coming to us, he will also be happy to play for nothing :-) Just kidding. Actually, he’s gone up in my estimation after reading that. Especially the last sentence.

  617. slim says:

err excuse me for taking this as BS but did he really say that. I asked if anything major had happened in the last 24hrs regarding this fella, apparently i’ve been under a rock. the net is full of shit these days but surely a link would go nicely if indeed he’s made these comments. I mean just a few posts we’re giving it to the DF for quotes that didn’t actually contain any quotes and yet the Nasri talk is credible?

  618. Devil310 says:

willie…I’m with you on Tyson. His speed and bully boxing attitude is almost inexistent in today’s boxing world. He was a pleasure to watch, if you appreciate the sport.

The guy was SO young when he achieved what he did and simply did not have his head straight. His trainer was like his father, and when he lost him, it all went down hill. I would recommend you watch his movie ‘TYSON’ if you haven’t already done so. His life is a very sad story to tell you the truth. Like you said, he was just an unbalanced kid pulled in various directions. Things could have been very differently if his trainer didn’t die.

I disagree on the rape thing. The guy had some serious issues. He probably lost control and fucked up.

  619. rohan19 says:

nasri just said some really good stuff…
lets see if he backs up those statements by not signing for CSKA london or citeh..
on the other hand i donno what city see in arsenal players.. havent they had experience after signing adebayor toure(the druggie) .. now clichy..
the array of left backs at that shit hole club are impressively pathetic.. its difficult to have such substandard players at one time for one position..

i don’t wanna get my hopes up but who else thinks that nasri might sign for us??

  620. Balaji Sivaraman says:

    Good Morning ROM!

@Zelh, Thanks for that tidbit mate. Although my skepticism of Nasri stems from the fact that he is a different sort of player to what many of us had in our mind, it seems his mind is in the right place. Which is surprising for an Arsenal player who are usually so full of shit anyways.

Now, if the interest is real from us which it most definitely seems to be, let us see whether he can back up the words with action. That is once Wenger’s hand has been forced into letting him go.

Like Willie said, it seems a lot of us are already warming up to the idea of Nasri is centre midfield for us, eh. :P

That is often the case. Although many of us may deny it, we would’ve been skeptical of Smalling, Valencia and the like. And, as is also often the case, when the Master gets it right, there is nothing more for us to say.

  621. dannysoya says:

zelh , looks like nasri is saying the right things but i’m not too sure that he DID say that.. my only reason is because this is news of the world who can fabricate an ENTIRE statement in a flash. so I won’t believe it until i see some more substantial news. to confirm my skepticism, daily mail says that fergie says that Nasri will join city. LOL

  622. TonyBee says:

No frills just those black short pumps and black shorts. Hard as nails. Think it was the berbick fight where he absolutley punched the fuck out of him and he was wobbling left right and all over. An awesome fighter in the late eighties. Used to like watching little Barry Mcguigan as well.

A woman goes to her boyfriend’s parents’ house for dinner. This is to be her first time meeting the family and she is very nervous. They all sit down and begin eating a fine meal. The woman is beginning to feel a little discomfort, thanks to her nervousness and the broccoli casserole. The gas pains are almost making her eyes water. Left with no other choice, she decides to relieve herself a bit and lets out a dainty little fart. It wasn’t loud, but everyone at the table heard the poot. Before she even had a chance to be embarrassed, her boyfriend’s father looked over at the dog that had been snoozing at the women’s feet, and said in a rather stern voice, “Ginger!”

The woman thought, “this is great!” and a big smile came across her face. A couple minutes later, she was beginning to feel the pain again. This time, she didn’t even hesitate. She let a much louder and longer fart rip. The father again looked at the dog and yelled, “Dammit Ginger!”

Once again the woman smiled and thought, “Yes!” A few minutes later the woman had to let another one rip. This time she didn’t even think about it. She let rip with a fart that rivalled a train whistle blowing. Again, the father looked at the dog with disgust and yelled, “Dammit, Ginger, get away from her before she shits on you!”

He replies, Goal, I am winning 1 nil.”

She thinks to herself, “I’m gonna fix him.” Then she lets one loose.

He yells at her, “What was that?”

    She replies “Goal, one all.”

Now he thinks, “I’m gonna fix her. He’s laying there for about 10 minutes trying to work one up. He tries so hard he shits in bed.

He’s also quoted as saying he will move back to the Prem and will move back to the North West as he doesn’t like London. Now if that isn’t engineering a move to City I don’t know what is. What a loser!

  655. CedarsDevil says:

    Howdy Zelh………..

  656. CedarsDevil says:

    mikekelly12

Hats off to you pal for actually replying to that! Must have been a couple of hundred posts or so ago!

Cannot remember the ticket prices at the time, was it 2.50, 3 or 3.50 at the turn stiles?

    ‘Nice one Robbo
    nice one son
nice one Robbo, lets have another one’

Sung every time Captain Marvel made one of his trade mark tackles

  657. mikekelly12 says:

Cedars – Ha ha….I know mate, had to rush out last night before signing off so only saw it this mnorning Don’t know where it comes from but I vaguely remember paying £2.80 at the gate and 35p for the United Review. I’ve got one here signed by Robson, Strachan, Alan Brazil and Sir Matt…United v Burnley in the Milk Cup! Robson was THAT important that whenever he didn’t appear on the team sheet you knew we were going to struggle!! So did you see those comments about Ronaldo?

  658. Zelh says:

any new entertaining repord by the daily fail?

    and anyone signed yet?

  659. MG says:

    Afternoon Manchester United

Hope all is well – I am well writing along – it’s all good

19 and goodbye for now ;)

  660. Rai says:

Willie – Devil310 – On the Tyson thing, he was you youngest heavy weight champ in history, more money than anyone could have imagined – unrivalled fame. He could have had anything he wanted. He did not nor did he need to rape. That woman set him up, taking advantage of his stupidity.

TonyBee loving the jokes mate, especially the one about taking the meat out of the fridge!!!

KE, Cedars, Kings, Costas, Smartalex, MG and ALL reds apart from the cunt who is still here – very good afternoon to you all.

  661. CedarsDevil says:

    mikekelly12

Those were the days hey? You are spot on, if ever there was a time when we were a one man team then it was during the Robbo years in the 80′s….. I had collected about 4 years worth of match day programs at the time and after I left my sister in law who was never a football fan deemed it fit to throw them away! Bloody hell, they would have been worth a fortune these days…. I actually met Robbo in 2007 whilst he was signing his book, I tried to spend a few seconds in conversation with him but the buggers behind me kept trying to push me out of the way……

As for Ronaldo, regardless of what he says or does I am thankful for what he did to the club BUT he will never be a player I could consider as a legend or a United great

  662. CedarsDevil says:

MG – Nice of you to drop by my friend, we miss you.

Rai – Afternoon to you too buddy

  663. Kings says:

Rai – Good afternoon my friend. Yeah Tyson was a hero of both myself and my brother. A proper streetfighter type boxer who made light work of his opponents.

Did you see that snippit in the mail by Bob Cuss? What a fucking cunt he is.

  664. Kings says:

My previous post was number 666. How good is that?

  665. CedarsDevil says:

    Kings

You got number 666! Sort of scary……..But you are a devil at heart after all are you not?

Been a while my friend, hope all is well

  666. mikekelly12 says:

    Cedars

Those were the days indeed. Sometimes used to pay in at the stand behind the stretford end (was it E stand, the one with the benches) and then jump into the stretford end!
Never met Robbo (other than seeing him at an after dinner speech) but my mate used to be a waiter at the Amblehurst on Washway Road and sai he would be in there regularly on a Sunday with Viv Anderson, Paul McGrath and Norman hanging upside down from the bar racing pints of Guiness!!

I know what you mean about Ronaldo, don’t know why, it just sticks in my craw that he would even consider City!

  667. CedarsDevil says:

This synchronization between me and Kings is fucking scaring the shit out of me… Not for the first time mind you…….

Fucking true REDS do think alike! Bloody love it

  668. CedarsDevil says:

    mikekelly12

Fuck Ronaldo buddy, I already said I am grateful for what he brought to our club, but he left because his ‘dream’ was to play for Madrid………. We only want players at United who actually want to be part of our history. I do not give a toss where Ronaldo ends up to be honest

  669. willierednut says:

    Kings and Rai

Small world lads lol. Tyson, like the great George Best had his demons. I like to remember what they did on the football pitch and the boxing ring. As for the daily bollox, they hardly ever get a story right. Remember the article about our deal for Jones being in tatters? fucking mugs.

  670. The team that wouldn't die says:

When you read the kind of garbage Ronaldo is uttering you start to wonder. Is he thick? Are most footballers that thick? This is why Best, Cantona, Robson, Keane and Scholes are legends and Ronaldo only a great footballer. Maby the best we ever had, but that doesn’t count much if he could imagine himself playing for City. Tevez – I didn’t care. But Ronaldo. Dissapointing.

  671. Kings says:

CedarsDevil – Hello buddy. What the hell is going on? That’s the second time in about a week and a half that has happened. It is definitely a case of great minds and all that my good friend.

willierednut – Absolutely my friend. I have always overlooked any private life matters, preferring to remember them for their contributions to their respective sports. Legends mate. I fucking hate that right wing nazi paper, full of scum bastards working for that paper.

  672. Rai says:

Kings & Willie – The Mail make are worse than some of the more obvious tabloids, how they retain credability amongst some of the larger media organisations is beyond me.

As for Iron Mike, watching him in his prime and then seeing the mugs that we have today – just goes to show the sport is dead. People like David Fuckin Haye talking himself up – what a joke. No class and no balls. Not really much to admire in my opinion.

  673. CedarsDevil says:

What the fuck is all that talk of formula one? Keep it football lads

  674. CedarsDevil says:

    Kings

Easy really, true REDS are simply great

  675. CedarsDevil says:

    The team that wouldn’t die

Good post, but calling Ronaldo the best we ever had is way over the top in my opinion …….George Best (RIP) may have a differing opinion

  676. CedarsDevil says:

Add to that Duncan Edwards, Sir Bobby, Law, Scholes, Cantona all in my humble opinion more technically gifted than Ronaldo

  677. Clint-IamYourPapii says:

joker’sbitch vs Rafael Noodle….i reckon joker’sbitch could win, he has won previous matches and this year has been great & is officially world no. 1.

Its odd that players like rooney get 1 months break since CL final then back to pre season training….this doesnt seem like enough to me. especially with guys like chico&valencia returning late to united and will get their rest during the season.
No wonder guys like owen, torres, ronaldinho, sheva suffered from burn out or suffered from injurys that took its toll.

I think a winter break will help PL players and england. Its funny fergies been protesting for a winter break continually since 2001 but the anti United FA won’t listen to a United manager.

  678. Rai says:

Can’t see Ronnie going City. He’s a rich young man, money wouldn’t be a motivation for him. He’ll retire in about 5 years can’t see him letting his standards slip at all…his ego won’t allow it. IF he did go City, all his hard work for us will be forgotten….

  679. King Eric says:

Captaincunt. “Kings Eric“. Yeah nice one. Fuck off.

  680. dannysoya says:

LMAO. Ronaldo has finally revealed his true colours. he went to madrid for money. Anyways it’s always nice to be known as the club who made him who he is today so. YUP that is the end of my “soft spot” for Ronaldo.

  681. CedarsDevil says:

    Rai

Should we really care? In all honesty I would follow more closely what happens with players like JOS and Brown then I would Ronaldo…… Saying that I am and will forever be thankful for what he did to us

  682. willierednut says:

Just to echo Cedars, Ronaldo is not the best ever to don a United shirt. For pure ability on a ball, it would be Bestie. But, for all round contribution to a football club, I’d give it to Sir Bobby Charlton. And he was a bloody good player as well. He’s never had much hair, but we don’t care! The holy trinity stand alone IMO.

  683. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

Its simple, he is a cunting cunt!

  684. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie

Well said buddy….. Furthermore you do not need hair to be a genius !

  685. willierednut says:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2010763/Samir-Nasri-hits-Arsenal-future.html

Call me a stupid cunt, but this sounds like Nasri is calling for a move to United? You want to win things, you don’t move to city. Come work under a genius lad, and we’ll show you how it’s done! If you go to city, money is your motivation.

  686. Rai says:

Agree with you guys on the Holy Trinity, although I didn’t get to watch them in my lifetime – from what I’ve seen and read, I understand they are, along with Sir Matt and the Babes, what seperate us from all the other clubs. I would have to say though, Sir Alex, Robson, Cantona, Giggs and Scholes will be looked upon in the same light….

Cedars – Don’t really care what he does with himself now he’s no longer playing for us. I do have to say though his portfolio of goals are amongst the most spectacular scored at the club in the past 20 years. He was a freak of a footballer, but had an ego to rival…

  687. CedarsDevil says:

    Rai

Well said my friend and again no true United fan can deny what Ronaldo brought to the club and we should all be thankful to him…… But a great or a legend he is NOT

  688. Balaji Sivaraman says:

For all you Daily Mail haters, this one will be special if you haven’t seen it already.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eBT6OSr1TI

@willie, I personally don’t think any one person can be called as the greatest ever player to don the shirt. As Sir Alex loves to say, we’ve had so many great players on here that it is almost an impossible task to even comprehend. There are few who come close like Duncan Edwards, George Best, Bobby Charlton, Denis Law, Bryan Robson, Ryan Giggs etc. But you cannot pick one out of them as the greatest of them all is my opinion.

  689. dannysoya says:

No doubt that ronaldo is among the greatest to play for us and yes i will be always thankful but to say that if not mourinho he would have joined city is really something. it means he did not even consider United’s reaction AT ALL. Don’t really like that.

  690. TonyBee says:

    hic…anyone for tennis……

  691. dannysoya says:

yh tonybee. I hope djokovic wins though :)

  692. willierednut says:

Balaji – I can! Sir Bobby for me. It’s just my opinion. For what he went through and his work for the club. Plus, he won the world cup as well. Sir Bobby Charlton is the epitome of Manchester United football club. Great player.

  693. CedarsDevil says:

Top 10 players to wear the shirt

    ! – Duncan Edwards

    2- George Best

    3 – Sir Bobby

4 – Make up your own list

  694. TonyBee says:

    1. Djemba Djemba

    2 Bellion

    3 Taibi

    4 ………

  695. Rai says:

Willie – “Sir Bobby Charlton is the epitome of Manchester United Football Club”.

Very well said. When you consider what he went through, your argument holds some solid weight. Although you’re a braver man than me…I might have to sit on the fence in this one :)

  696. Rai says:

TonyBee you missed out William Prunier. What a cameo that man made….

  697. willierednut says:

    William the prune! Lol.

  698. YorYor says:

I seriously think the Ronaldo story is a non-story – sensationalism and nothing else.
When it’s only, or first, reported by sites/papers like NotW or DM(F) etc… especially such articles which attempts to stir shit out of nothing, I don’t really bother about them.
    Read and laugh it off.
If it’s true, so be it. If it isn’t, you just got worked up over nothing at all.

  699. wayne says:

morning reds, read an article about nasri,he said he’s not a mercenary doesn’t care about the money because he makes a fortune as it is,will only go to a club who plays a style of football he enjoys and wants to win things.telling city to fuck off.lol
alarming stuff for wenger, rentboys moving in for walcott, barcelona still chasing fabregas, van persie’s agent saying his client is disturbed by the goings on.wenger needs to steady the ship or he’ll have no team.

  700. The team that wouldn't die says:

Football is faster these days, so it’s difficult to say who’s “the best” red ever. Somehow I think the talent of George Best would have done even more under the wings of SAF. But even from what he did, I put him highest. (Only watched videos and clips – but that’s impressive!) A superstar bigger than Ronaldo, but more humble, and with a heart for United to the end.
To score the amounts of goals Ronaldo does is unbeleaveable. But, Best could also tackle! Unlike Ronaldo and Scholes…
    My top 3 reds are:
    1. Best
    2. Cantona
    3. Edwards
    Runner up: Bryan Robson
When Ronaldo developed towards his best, we had the best/one of the players in the world again. 40 years after the holy 3. A long wait. That he today would even think of going to City… SAF, Carlos and the team made him into what he is. HE SHOULD RESPECT THAT!
Thick as brick. The Michael Jackson of football.

  701. mikekelly12 says:

Never saw him play but if what people say is to be believed, gotta be Duncan Edwards. Bryn Robson and Paul Scholes are my two favourites, however, for pure impact and turning the corner for United it has to be Eric. So many different reasons for so many different players to be regarded as the best ever, so let them share the crown.

@Rai – Prunier….funny… 2 games I think one was against Spurs and if I recall, The match of the day pundits were lording him saying what a find he was! Can’t remember who he played against after that but I remember he was shocking.

  702. Rai says:

YorYor – Don’t think anyone is worked up. Just discussing..

  703. YorYor says:

Well, dannysoya sure appeared to be.
Why judge another person/footballer based on what could well be a fictitious article?
The papers are desperate, neither of the two sugar-daddy clubs have made any sensational moves, so they don’t have articles to print.

  704. slim says:

of all the transfer rumors i’d rather JOS went to Arsenal than Sunderland

  705. mikekelly12 says:

@Yor Yor – Like Rai said, its just a discussion. I realise it was an article in a rag, The Daily Mirror, however they have quoted him as saying “If he went to Chelsea then I would have left. I would have gone to Manchester City. But now he’s staying, I’m staying.” Now correct me if I’m wrong, if he didn’t actually say that they could be in a bit of trouble couldn’t they?

  706. Kings says:

mikekelly12 – Hello mate. Yeah he was dreadful, but he did score the winner against QPR in our next game at Old Trafford – a 2-1 win as I recall.

  707. mikekelly12 says:

Kings – Afternoon pal.. I got it wrong. QPR was his debut when he played well and Spurs was his second game when he had a nightmare. The following may explain why.

Prunier made his Manchester United debut against Queens Park Rangers on 30 December 1995 partnering Gary Neville in defence.[2] He generally impressed in the match helping set up a goal for Andy Cole and hitting a powerful shot against the bar. His second game against Tottenham Hotspur on 1 January 1996, however, was a disaster for him and the club. With Peter Schmeichel injured in the warm-up and Denis Irwin also unavailable, he was part of a makeshift defence which conceded 4 goals in a humiliating loss. Prunier has ever since been made something of a scapegoat for the defeat. Despite the defeat, Ferguson offered him an extended trial, but Prunier declined and decided he would look elsewhere.

  708. willierednut says:

Even before todays story about Ronaldo, I didn’t consider him a legend. Like Rooney, he hung up his legend pass, when they fucked the club around. Other fans consider him a legend, each to their own, I guess.

  709. mikekelly12 says:

Willierednut – I agree. Fantastic player, Long way of legendary status!

  710. willierednut says:

smartalex – Keep your hair on fella!

  711. Rai says:

    Willie – You’re spot on about Rooney/Ronnie.

Guys, wasn’t Prunier a recommendation from Cantona? I’m sure he was!

  712. YorYor says:

mikekelly and willie, yeah as long as a player didn’t quite hang up his boots at United, it’s hard to call him a legend. But he was still a great player for United, one that we could really lay claim to the best polishing possible on a rough diamond!
Anyway, I really think he’s just taking the piss out of City. One of the biggest flirts and egos he may be, but I think he does indeed have some feelings for United and SAF.

  713. smartalex says:

I’m dodging Alley Barber by cutting through the lane.
Thought he might look taller, but it’s same old Wayne.

  714. YorYor says:

    @Rai, yeah it was. Reportedly.

  715. mikekelly12 says:

Rai – That’s what they say. They were both products of the Auxerre youth team.

  716. willierednut says:

YorYor – I won’t dispute that. Great player. Loved watching Ronaldo in his pomp. Just not a legend.

  717. Zelh says:

Statement from Ronaldo due to the mirrors quotes!

“The Sunday Mirror publishes an interview with me today. All that content is false. I have never spoke with the newspaper, and never made those statements”

    another fail

  718. mikekelly12 says:

Zelh – Where did you find that quote.

YorYor – It appears your faith in the man is vindicated.

  719. Rai says:

YorYor/Mikekelly12…..cheers guys…a great player he may be…but I’m glad Eric isn’t our chief scout :)

Willie – I know everyone talks about his free kick at Pompey, but the one at Sunderland was just as good I think….and who could forget that rocket against Porto….

  720. Zelh says:

    on his official twitter account

  721. YorYor says:

@Zelh, that can’t be real. Where’s the “But for the future, only God knows.” statement?

  722. mikekelly12 says:

    Zelh – Cheers buddy.

  723. willierednut says:

Rai – He could bang them in from anywhere on the pitch. Remember the scorcher against Arsenal? Semi final of the champions league. 40 yards out lol.

  724. mikekelly12 says:

Willie and Rai – He certainly does have an impressive portfolio of goals. Remeber the goal against Fulham in the dying seconds when he dribbled half the length of the pitch before slotting it home. If ever there was a title winning goal!

  725. Zelh says:

willierednut – even if ronaldo’s statistics at real are unreal Imo he was better in 07/08. scored from everywhere on the pitch. and was way better in dribblings than nowadays.

    He looks totally uptight.

  726. TonyBee says:

    Nadal loses…FFS

  727. fergie is the boss says:

The team that wouldn’t die – no offence but I would not rate cantona ahead of charlton. Has good has cantona was, scholes giggs charlton I would rate better players than cantona, for years of service and how they managed to change positions and still look outstanding players

  728. willierednut says:

Zelh – In terms of scoring, the 07/08 season was unbelievable. I actually enjoyed the 06/07 season more. He was at his creative best that year. The goal mikekelly 12 talked about, when he ran half the pitch and scored, was him at his best. Yes, he scores plenty of goals for Madrid, but you rarely see him score goals like that now.

  729. Zelh says:

willierednut – that’s what I meant. scores for fun, but not like he did with United. miss when he ran over half the pitch to score from distance

  730. dannysoya says:

YESSSSSS DJOKOVIC WINS!!! fed is still king of the slams!!!

  731. fergie is the boss says:

willierednut – I think quiet a few of united’s players lost their form in the 07/08 season, Gneville was crocked, silvestre hardly featured, scholes and giggs were not in great form, while Hargreaves was always injured through out the season. We add rooney was very inconsistent and inured, tevez was always up and down but effective, and saha was fucked at that point. I say united’s form players that year were, VDS brown ferdinand vidic evra and ronaldo for a season that their standards never dropped, everyone had their bit to play, but over a season those 6 were ahead of everyone else

  732. Mr C says:

    United Legends?

    1. George Best.
    2. George Best
    3. George Best.

The finest player ever to lace boots in Britain, possibly the world, much less United.

Charlton, Cantona, Law, Scholes (never got the recognition he deserved media wise), Robson, Keane, possibly in that order.

  733. fergie is the boss says:

Mr C – cantona got plenty of attention from the media, and they always made the point that cantona was the missing piece in that united side that went on to win the title in 93

  734. Rai says:

FITB – The thing is with Eric, he spearheaded us from 1992-1993 until the Fledlings were ready to take over….without him, I think those years would have been very different. I’m not saying he’s better than the others, but in terms of impacting the team – there has been no greater influence….in my humble opinion :)

Willie/Mike – that Fulham goal was him at his best…so brave and direct….big game and big occasion player (I know I know he didn’t do it in the CL final against Barca before you all start going on!!!!)
He scorded so many good goals….although he still can’t do what Messi did against Getafe :)

Bring it on fellas I know i’m in for a hiding after that last comment!!

  735. dannysoya says:

Th greatest United player of all time is Sir Bobby Charlton PERIOD.

    notable mentions.
    1. george best.
    2. eric cantona
    3. bryan robson.
    4. ryan giggs.
    5. paul scholes.
    6. gary neville and roy keane.
    8. peter schmeichel.
IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER except the first 3. take your pick.

  736. fergie is the boss says:

Rai – yes but charlton is probably the greatest British player of all time, certainty him and best are streets ahead of the rest. But do not forget the players fergie already had at his disposal. Schmeicheal, parker palister bruce irwin robson ince kanchelskis sharpe giggs mclair hughes, cantona added more depth to united’s fire power which was lacking strength and depth. Cantona was brought in with some of hardest group of players, and the last of the hard-men of football

  737. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@Rai, I second that Fulham goal. He has scored many scorchers and the Porto goal will go in footballing folklore as one of the finest strikes ever, but, in terms of importance and skill, that Fulham goal has to be the best goal Ronaldo has scored in the Red of United.

Comparing Ronaldo and Messi can be very ineffective IMO. People think Messi is better at the moment but he is also playing in a team that is drilled to use his strength effectively. Think Ronaldo playing for United from 06 to 09. That United team served as the perfect foil for Ronnie and hence why he won the Ballon D’Or in 2008. Now, he is stuck in a team that can’t use his strength effectively and he is suffering as a result.

There are a lot of things Ronnie can do that Messi cannot. Like the aforementioned Porto goal and Roonie is a much better header of the ball.

Messi is a better player now – But Ronnie with United and Messi with Barca were near equals – No differences really.

  738. dazbomber says:

    Duncan Edwards

  739. fergie is the boss says:

Also charlton was part of the united side that was the driving force behind united’s first european cup success, and that was bigger than what cantona achieved in united’s 26 year drought, especially after the Munich air crash, and what busby had gone through rebuilding the side after losing so many players in germany

  740. Zibbie says:

My list would only be a guess. Since 2002 and more like 2004 when I started watching the Italian and Spanish and Germans leagues, The best I have witnessed. I watched world Cups from 1986.
    1) Maldini
    2) Ze Zu
    3) Ronaldo from Brazil.
    4) Cannavaro’s WC in 2006 was the best football I have witnessed
    5) the best of the rest, Messi, Kaka, CR7, Rhondo,, ect. ect.

  741. Zibbie says:

Good day to be Red. Hello RoM. I must read now.

  742. Rai says:

FITB – Like I said mate, i’m sitting on the fence, but to be fair to Eric – he propelled the team into another level…a level that we had not reached since the Holy Trinity….very difficult to decide who was the greater influence or if indeed you can even begin to compare the two eras…

Balaji – I know what you mean. Ronnie can score left, right, he can head and he’s a strong SOB. Messi is a genius at what he does. Very difficult to compare. Messi can’t do some of the things Ronnie can do and vice versa…

I on the other hand, am better than both :) :)

  743. byron1970 says:

I won’t comment on players I haven’t seen but the greatest United player I’ve seen in my lifetime has been Roy Keane, no question in my mind about that. Can’t really get into an arguement about it because everyone will have their own opinions and their own valid reasons but when Keane was at his peak he never looked inferior to any opposing player and that includes the greatest player of that generation, Zidane. Honorable mention to Schmeichel and Scholes. I often get stick for not including Cantona but I can’t based purely on his European form. I love him and what he did for this club and if you asked me to name the most important United player in my lifetime I may well say Cantona. He brought a flare and winning mentality to set the juggernaut rolling and for that I will love him forever. Roy Keane though, my word, what a player what a captain.

  744. Zibbie says:

Best Man Utd players I have seen
    1) Roy Keane
    2) Giggs/Scholes/G.Nev. Think of them as a 3 headed Greek Titian of Old Trafford Glory Glory.
    3) R&R Rolls Royce of Rooney and CR7 going forward at pace.
    4) VDS
    5) Rio, Vidic and Evra bring on the world.
    6) All young hopefuls with heart and courage, and a mind strong enough for Old Trafford.

  745. Zibbie says:

How fucking great to read this wow, fucking cool!!!!!

  746. Zibbie says:

Messi is so awesome, if CR7 were to play with Xavie and Inesta (Miss spelled fuck) he would look even better as well, those two together wow.

  747. YipYapStam says:

Uniteds best ever player was Stam. He had a 50p head and looked liked the nazi in saving private ryan who killed the US soldier and said “sshhh” whilst slowly pushing the knife through his chest.

  748. Mikekelly12 says:

Zibbie – since your naming your world best and tournament bests, check out Maradonna!! If ever a player has single handedly won a tournament!!

  749. willierednut says:

Great discussion going on here lads. Everyones got their favourite United player. Don’t be shy and reveal all!

  750. fergie is the boss says:

Zibbie – has good has CR7 has been, he is not in messi’s league, messi’s dribbling ability is the best in the game today. The way he can keep hold onto the ball and run at defenders ball to feet at pace, is the most terrifying player in the game, and the most complete. What also makes messi the better player, is messi’s variety of goals and assists, he is a team player and he track’s back, he scores all type’s of goals. Do not forget, real madrid have spent in close to 500 million since the summer of 2007, and it is a poor excuse to say well messi has xavi and iniesta, when madrid have had all the money to put a team out there to compete. They bought ronaldo the former world player of the year, and they still cannot win a thing

  751. Zibbie says:

In the US, they have league MVP’S witch sparks debate over the best player or the most influential to the teams success.
CR7 is the most talented footballer on the planet. Rt. foot, Lf foot, Heading, step overs, pace, speed, quickness, Dead ball, free kicks ect. ect.
If I had to pick a team from the worlds players, and I picked 1st? Messi please.

  752. smartalex says:

    zibbie

Your comment at 17:41 was quite possibly your best, from a United footballing point of view.

  753. Louis says:

I just came back to read some of the reactions to my recommendation of us signing Clint Dempsey [above]. tail between my legs. Understatement to say that you guys dont agree.

  754. willierednut says:

Byron1970 – Spot on about Keano mate. He was Fergie on the pitch. Fucking beast of a player. I’ll always remember Turin 99. He picked the lads up by the boot laces and give one of the best individual performances I’ve ever seen. We’re really lucky fans, to have had so many top players, play for the club. It over yet either. You think of Phil Jones. Could he be the next midfield enforcer? Under the boss, that may will happen. We’ve got the best young keeper in Europe as well. It’s all looking promising.

  755. Zibbie says:

@Mikekelly12 I saw him in the WC only and did not follow the WC close until 86 I saw some of 82 and Maradonna was awesome. I’m 2nd generation American, Irish and Italian all 4 grandparents born overseas, I always loved all the great Italian Argentinean’s. I made my list from 2002 on kind of. The rest would be a guess.
Maldini was the most influential footballer on the pitch I ever saw.

  756. Rai says:

There’s one player we didn’t get who stated he would have loved to have played in England, a player who I think had the perfect mental attitude for United – Pavel Nedved.

  757. parryheid says:

What’s Blue but smells like Red paint.

  758. Mikekelly12 says:

Like I said earlier, so many players deserve the greatest ever at United crown for so many different reasons. My personal favourites are Scholes and Robson. As I said to Cedars earlier, when Robsons name didn’t appear on the team sheet you knew we were gonna struggle to win.
Zibbie – I love your enthusiasm, its a breath of fresh air!

  759. smartalex says:

    “Moyes meets Henze
Rumours have surfaced that David Moyes is looking to bring Gabriel Heinze to Goodison Park on a free transfer.
The Argentinian defender has run his contract down at Marseille and is available for free.
33 year old Heinze has played over 70 times for his country, playing in two World Cups, and has Premier League experience with Manchester United.”

On an Everton blog, I’m not linking it.

If he goes there, I’m looking forward to our brazilian Da Silva Assassin renailing his argie ass.

  760. Zibbie says:

FITB no excuses from me mate, Messi is on his way to the Parthenon of Footballing Immortality. Just a thought. To be 2nd best to Messi not to bad. It kills CR7 that he is 2nd best. IMO.

  761. YipYapStam says:

What is De Gay better than Neuer and Hart? Perhaps he’s the best because he now plays for MUFC. I love our players but I always find it funny how one of our players is ‘best in europe’ or ‘best in the world’ etc. Blog on you slags

  762. Zibbie says:

    @smartalex, thanks mate.
@willie we have the same ideas about Jones. He will seize the chances given to him and force SAF”s hand in a good way for playing time. At CB, FB and in front of the back 4, freeing up 5 to push forward. With overlapping runs from the fb’s wow.

  763. fergie is the boss says:

Zibbie – yea true, but I hate anyone saying what would messi be without xavi and iniesta, where would barca be without messi and xavi and iniesta, because you look through their backline and upfront withowut messi and it is not brilliant

  764. Rai says:

Smartalex – I’ve hated the cunt ever since he wanted to leave us for Liverpool. No class bastard.

Guys King Eric has asked if anyone has any information regarding the ROM Blackberry app? I use the mobile version on the iphone but i’m not technically minded so have no idea about blackberry’s. Any ideas?

  765. Zibbie says:

Rai not to suck up, back on a previous post 17:25 right before I went ect. ect. about the best players I have seen. I almost typed Pavel Nedved. Loved his game.

  766. byron1970 says:

fergie is the boss – Good point and I’d have to agree with you on that one and quite frankly I don’t even see how there can be a debate over Messi and Ronaldo anymore. Between 2007 and 2009 maybe but I think now there is no question that Messi is the best player on the planet. Not to disrepect anyone else’s opinion because football has a way of making us all look stupid for the things that we’ve said but Ronaldo can only fall into the “who is the second best player in the world” debate. Messi number one, he just has to be.

willierednut – I get tears in my eyes when I think about Turin in 99. Remember a few years back I read a newspaper article (wish I saved it somewhere) where the author decided to go back and watch the game again just to see was Keane’s performance as good as we remember it or was it just one of those “get’s better over time” performances. The journalist wasn’t a United fan so he had no bias and he said that after watching it again that we are all correct to describe it as one of the greatest midfield displays there has ever been. I seem to remember him recalling that Keane gave the ball away twice and those were crosses into the box. An absolute masterclass that will never be forgotten.

On Phil Jones and from what I’ve seen of him I don’t expect him to be anything else other than a defender but who knows, only time will tell.

  767. Zibbie says:

    FITB me as well mate.
After a game against the US, Demerit said about playing Messi, it was like he was 13 playing against his 17 year old Brother and his friends. He is magic with the ball at his feet at pace and any other time.

  768. YipYapStam says:

Uniteds best players of the modern era were ruud and ronaldo and they both left to further their careers at a bigger club, can’t blame them really… real madrid or MUFC? there’s only one answer!!!

  769. Zibbie says:

Time to go shopping for tomorrows fun. ect. ect.

  770. Mikekelly12 says:

I wonder what Messi would look like in a United shirt?

  771. Balaji Sivaraman says:

My favorite player that I’ve seen in my time supporting United is Ruud Van Nistelrooy. He is, was, and always will be my first ever man crush. He was one of the few players I hoped from my heart that Sir Alex would not sell. The man was a machine. Everything he touched turned to goals and he got me obsessed with goal poachers in the first place, which has continued with a love for Hernandez right now.

As for the greatest ever player I’ve seen, that would be Ryan Giggs. I started watching when Roy Keane had delivered his best in 1999-2001 for us. I still got to see him in his best from 2001-2005 but it was not quite like watching those prime years. Giggs on the other hand has been an ever-present and his transformation shows no limits. He has gone from being a blistering winger to a more clever winger who produces directed crosses to a central mid-fielder with an eye for pass. His fitness is tremendous and I don’t think most people nowadays can consistently perform at the highest level for United as he has done over the past 20 years. Ryan Giggs it is for me.

  772. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Ladies and Gentleman, Looks Like we have another Epic Thread on our hands.

Only in this case, instead of a collection of the most famous movie and TV quotes, we are actually discussing about football and United.

I find it surprising to be honest.

Keep the great discussion coming lads. Let’s see how long it takes for Scott to notice his oversight this time. :P

  773. Louis says:

I reckon we should be in for Quade Cooper. Hes got two good feet, a great passer, can beat a man, very good tackler and can score from midfield. Need I say more?

  774. RedMegleeker says:

Just thought I’d pop my head round the corner to see what’s been going on in the Unitedsphere. Quiet it seems. Though 740 odd comments to a pretty banal Evra quote, let’s check it out I thought.

There it was. A bunch of sycophantic, bored with life morons telling each other how great their love of United is and how hilarious their feeble jokes are.

    Yip, its pathetic.

  775. GoatinaUnitedShirt says:

    @Mikekelly12 says:

I wonder what Messi would look like in a United shirt?

It would fall right off him the weedy little shit bag, neck holes too big. Give me Foulkes anyday to kick him into kingdom come. Come to mention it, Fergie sign me up I’ll deal with the little rent boy.

  776. Rai says:

Zibbie – Nedved was an amazing footballer mate, he was one that got away in my opinion….but to be fair at the time – we had Keane, Scholes, Butt, Giggs, Beckham, Veron….so it wouldn’t have made sense to buy a CM at that time anyway. I remember the Nedved rumours picked up a lot of pace at the time we signed Veron – and people were saying it was a choice between the two….at that time I used to watch a lot of Football Italia (remember guys CH4 on a Sunday morning!) and I was chuffed with the Veron signing…he was an immense player shame it didn’t work out. Wasn’t wrong place, just wrong time..

  777. mikekelly12 says:

Louis – Think he may get penalised a bit too often for handling the ball!

  778. Kings says:

Scott can you disinfect this blog please.

  779. smartalex says:

Rai – Under ‘ROM APP’ at the top of the page 3 apps are listed.

    IPhone, Android, Samsung.

  780. willierednut says:

Need a new thread. Taking long time to load the comments. Then you have a boring cunt chirping in.

  781. smartalex says:

Where can we find a RoM thread with less comments?

  782. Mr C says:

    @fergie is the boss says:

“Mr C – cantona got plenty of attention from the media, and they always made the point that cantona was the missing piece in that united side that went on to win the title in 93″

No quibbles there – Cantona is the most important player United’s had in the last 25-30 years, possibly more. That’s why I have a picture of ‘Dieu’ hanging on my living room wall! Cantona was the difference between being United being winners and nearly men, as far as league success is concerned at any rate, the key ingredient added to great kids that had come through.

However, for pure talent, George Best is the finest player I’ve ever seen. Genius is a word over used in football, but not in the case of Best.

  783. The team that wouldn't die says:

Fergie is the boss: Charlton is a class act. To have him watching every game is something different. He’s a living legend. But players like Best, Cantona and Robson had a PASSION I like to see in football. For me Cantona and Best are closer to my heart because they are full of “mistakes”.

Read in People ( I know prbably crap) that the Argentinian attacking midfielder Arsenal are after is wanted strongly by Inter, and that they have a better offer. Could that mean Inter are preparing for a life after Sneijeder?

  784. smartalex says:

    The team that wouldn’t die

Yes, it could mean that Inter are preparing for a life after Sneijder, and that’s a interesting way to look at it as it opens up the conversation to the guy that surely most of us really want.

The article is more likely to be nonsense, and there hasn’t been any talk of Wesley since players started arriving, and Nasri was linked.

There is a very good chance that a top player will be joining us from a European team.
(had I twittered that, in about ten minutes we’d be reading reports of done deals with superstars).

  785. MG says:

Just popped in to say Xavi is the best player in the world – Take him out of Barca and they would not be the same – Xavi was the match winner against us in the CL – a phenomenal and gifted footballer – I would have thought that he would have got bored with Barca and would have liked to move on to us

    Oh well

    Bye bye for now again.

  786. willierednut says:

Inter would be crazy to sell Sneijder and replace him with Ricky bull winkle.

  787. theboogeyman says:

Can I join any banter, folks?

  788. Fred says:

MG – playing for the club he loves and winning trophies all the time, how could you get bored of that? I think it was Paul Scholes who said something similar.

  789. Fred says:

    (About himself)

  790. Rai says:

Redmegleeker – I was hoping you had died.

    Smartalex – thanks buddy :)

  791. Louis says:

How do Ramirez and Lucas make the Brazil team tonight?

  792. Fred says:

Seems for the first time in my lifetime, it is possible for me to say: Brazil are shit. 8O

  793. Kings says:

theboogeyman – Of course you can mate, don’t want you to feel left out. Just be yourself.

  794. theboogeyman says:

Kings- But there’s no one here now lol.

  795. smartalex says:

“Arsenal are well aware that they are likely to be quoted inflated prices for players if they sell Clichy, Fabregas and Nasri in quick succession, meaning they would ideally like to reinforce their squad before losing players.”
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/arsenal/8614450/Arsenal-braced-to-finally-lose-key-pair-Cesc-Fabregas-and-Samir-Nasri.html
    Hence the delay.

  796. Fred says:

    Thanks for the article, smartalex.

Wenger, hurry up and get your shit players signed so that the bigger clubs can have your good ones.

  797. Louis says:

Ganso, Neymar and Andre Santos look really good youngsters. [as well as Pato obviously]. Those 3 just kept the ball for a while with some good skill and passing. Then Ramirez gives it away. It must be quite demoralizing for him to play with decent players for once.

  798. Balaji Sivaraman says:

The problem with Wenger is that he keeps losing his key players. That is absolutely all up to him IMO. His stubbornness to not change to style of play and his constant usage of some excuse or the other. I honestly feel that Arsenal would’ve won something if they hadn’t lost Flamini and Hleb at the time they did.

No one can blame Fabregas and Nasri though. They’ve won fuck all in the past 6 years. If Arsenal fans have any brain at all, they should respect their decisions, although I don’t expect them to anyways.

  799. Zibbie says:

    800th!

  800. smartalex says:

“Albiston acknowledges there are parallels between de Gea and the goalkeeper he made most of his 485 United appearances in front of, Gary Bailey. The South African was also just out of his teens when he made his debut for the Reds in 1978 and like de Gea, was effectively replacing a long term number one at Old Trafford – in his case, 1968 European Cup hero and 1977 FA Cup winner Alex Stepney.”
    http://www.trulyreds.com/20110702/albiston-says-a-midfielder-is-fergies-final-target/#more-14973=

  801. Louis says:

You cant really compare Fabregas’ behaviour to Nasri’s. Fabregas has been there for all six years of Arsenal’s failure, plus he’s wanted to go for a long time and has acted respectfully of the club and remained. [And re-sined a long term contrat which means his club wont be forced to sell him on the cheap.]

Whereas Nasri has only been there 3 years, hasn’t once re-signed and is now clamoring for a move to Arsenal’s biggest rivals [us].

Dont get me wrong: I think he’s a great player and I hope we get him, but Fabregas has acted much more honourably. Nasri is pulling a Rooney, although his demands for success are more reasonable than Wazza’s.

Thats my opinion. What do you guys think?

  802. smartalex says:

    It’s a pleasure Fred!

Balaji Sivaraman – If Nasri goes to city, he’s looking for the opposite to what’s been drummed into everyone by Wenger.

  803. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@smartalex, Agreed mate. So far he seems to saying the right things. IF he leaves and IF our interest is real and IF he chooses United over City, I don’t think anyone can blame him really. That’s a lot of IFs BTW.

@Louis, Yeah, I don’t think Fabregas should be getting any slack at all. He has been there for a long time and won nothing in the end. So, Arsenal fans will be sorely short-sighted if they don’t respect his decision.

I am not sure about Nasri though. Another player might want to take over from Fab and show that he can lead Arsenal to glory, but we don’t know what is happening inside the club. If wholesale changes are not expected and if it is going to be more the same bullshit from Wenger, then it is not wrong on his part to consider a move to a place like United.

Both of them cannot be compared to United though, we just did not win the EPL for one year on the back of a 3-peat. Not to bring it up again, but their position is understandable whereas Rooney’s, in no way, wasn’t.

  804. Rai says:

Louis – fair enough in your last paragraph mate, his demands are a lot more reasonable than Wayne’s (which were fuckin stupid).

I just can’t warm to the cunt, something about him is very dislikeable…although I had similar feelings towards Owen and Smith!!!

  805. Balaji Sivaraman says:

*cannot be compared to Rooney though*

  806. smartalex says:

“I don’t know David Beckham. I’m great friends with Rio Ferdinand, he’s a real laugh, and I chat to Wes Brown. Wayne Rooney and I speak now and then – that’s pretty much it,”" Ronaldo told the Sunday Mirror.

  807. Cyril Sneer says:

    Greetings reds,

Sir Alex has cleared another report but I think this thread is heavy enough and I don’t want to add a big block of text. So, if you fancy finding out about an interesting side-mission Rio and I got up to today, click the link on my user name.

And it wouldn’t hurt you buggers to leave a few comments either!

  808. Rai says:

Smartalex – cheers for the link…I can imagine him saying all those things (even though the sources is tribal football!!)

Balaji/Louis – Fabregas has been with Arsenal for 8 years, I agree he owes them nothing at all. 8 years and one trophy – I don’t blame him for wanting to go..

  809. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@Cyril, WTH did you put in your blog? I get the following warning:

“The blog that you are about to view may contain content only suitable for adults. In general, Google does not review nor do we endorse the content of this or any blog. For more information about our content policies, please visit the Blogger.”

And then, of course, it is blocked in the UAE for obvious reasons. Dunno why. Just a heads up for you but I think it is behaving as expected which means you have to post here for me to read it.

  810. Louis says:

    @ Alex

You really feeling the lack of football, mate. Tehran Times?

  811. smartalex says:

Louis – I knew that the Tehran Times link would raise a few laughs, and eyebrows!
It was picked up by them from tribal football, as Rai said. It all comes from the Fail, of course!
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2010887/Cristiano-Ronaldo-names-Cheryl-Cole-ideal-date.html?ito=feeds-newsxml
Ronaldo wanting Cheryl to get at Ashley, I guess!

  812. Louis says:

Heres one from the maputotimez.com about Ronaldo’s favourite mexican take out place.

  813. Zibbie says:

@smartalex, great read, looking forward to the Rabbit. Is it white, if so follow it.
@Louis and the rest. In the US we dealt with free agents and players moving for more money, better weather, bigger markets and mom. In the late 80′s. So similar were the response’s of the masses. Full of disbelief, heartbroken by rich fucks playing sport. No team loyalty, selfish cunts who spit on your team and town. Then over time, most know it is only business. And they have such a short time to make the best of it. And then there is a kid called Mauer in St. Paul who is one of Baseballs best, signed for the home team long term for 10′s of millions less. Rooney has done damage to some that may never heal, for me he fucked up in contact talks where the Glaziers were low balling a man of his talents. I am a firm believer pay the players not the owners. They have doubled their money on the clubs worth since they bought. 750 million fucking pounds.

  814. CedarsDevil says:

I see another cunting cunt made an appearance………

    Evening all true REDS

Been great reading through the posts

Never liked smith, was, is, always will be a Leeds cunt.
Don’t get me wrong I never booed him, but never warmed to the dirty little Yorkshire twat, as I have to the little welsh twat, for his goal against shitty.

  817. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@smartalex, Mmmm, Cheryl Cole and Irina Shayk. I am frothing at the mouths already.

@Zibbie, Yet, the NBA has players like Nowitzki mate whose patience has so wonderfully payed off. But I agree that such kind of loyalty is becoming a rarity in sport in general. Heck, even cricketers are switching countries when they don’t get a chance in their country of birth. That is the biggest blasphemy of them all IMO. Happy Advanced 4th of July to you. (I already reached that date here.)

  818. Zibbie says:

Cunting cunts. You can’t fix stupid.
    So Say’s Zib Head!!!!!

  819. Cyril Sneer says:

@ Balaji – Thanks for that. I think I have sorted it now, can you try again?

  820. Louis says:

Brazil deserve to draw this game 0-0. You cant start Ramirez and Lucas and expect to win. Apart from the individual skill, they remind me of England. ie no cutting edge, and barely a shot on goal for all their trouble. You can bet they wont start those two next game. It’ll be the other Lucas, Ganso and maybe Sandro in midfield.

  821. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@Cyril, Don’t mention it mate. Works like a charm now. Gonna get reading and commenting soon enough. :)

@Cedars, Shouldn’t it be good night? LOL!

  822. Zibbie says:

    @Balaji Sivaraman
    Nowitzki VS Labron James
There is always the Duncan story 4 NBA titles in San Antonio ect. ect. and the James thing to Miami. What a donkey cunt move. Some stay or move another way for titles and loyalty and some for fun in the sun, cash and pussy.

  823. CedarsDevil says:

Nicely put Zibbie…. Our friends Rai and Kings picked it out pretty well, pity King Eric missed out on that one!

  824. Cyril Sneer says:

4th of july soon. A horror image is stuck on my mind: The Glazers (or Antichrist and his 3 demons as i like to call them) cheering that thin american beer in glasses from the Mega-Store as they send a fax with: “No” to SAFs request for £5m extra to buy Sneijder…
Been a slow news day. I feel something big is on its way…

  832. CedarsDevil says:

Been watching some highlights of the women’s world cup……….. Why the hell do they not exchange shirts at the end of the game?

  833. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@Cedars, Thanks for that big LOL before I hit the sack.

  834. Louis says:

Sorry but I cant get behind the women’s world cup. Theyre just not good enough to enjoy watching.

I know its nice and fair for them to have a world cup too, but then why dont they have a paraplegic world cup for the same price? I dont care that they have the cup, just that we have to watch it. It takes up the football channel and the highlights package half the time.

TBH, it’s the same with all women sports [that I can think of]. Why would I want to watch people that are only marginally better than myself on TV just because they happen to be women, where is the entertainment in that?

  835. The team that wouldn't die says:

@Zibbie – Now that’s better then my image!

Hey, dont tease. Arsenal were the first side in English football to complete the FA Cup and League Cup double. They were also the first London club to reach the final of the UEFA Champions League, in 2006. [wikipedia] Thats some history, man!

  845. willierednut says:

Fucking deluded lads lol. Arsenal fans, are fast becoming more like city fans every day. Delusion spreads quickly! :)

  846. Zelh says:

that means we won more often the UCL than the london clubs reached the finals

  847. Louis says:

Who do you guys think will be Kenny’s next ‘shock’ 20 million pound buy?

  848. Costas says:

Lets not forget that the quest for us to become Champ20ns again starts tomorrow.

  849. willierednut says:

You lose Fabregas and Nasri, and sign Doyle? Almost feel sorry for the gooners lol. Goodnight lads.

  850. Zelh says:

Valencia has been subbed of after the first half.

  851. Zelh says:

    injured his left ankle..
    oh boy.

  852. Costas says:

    @Zelh

Really? That sucks. The left ankle was the one he broke wasn’t it? Bring him back now!

  853. obertanthenewstar says:

cant wait for tuesday to see if lawman was right!!!!

its takin ages to come tho :(

  854. obertanthenewstar says:

  855. fergie is the boss says:

The team that wouldn’t die – what are you talking about, sir bobby typify’s passion class and great humility, no offence to cantona, but charlton did not go into the crowd and go has low has that thug in the crowd, and in the end fucked us over in our title loss in 95. Sir bobby is the complete footballer on and off the field, much like scholes they are the perfect players

  856. The team that wouldn't die says:

    Fergie is the boss:
We both love the same players and the same team. Only thing splitting us is the ranking of the heroes (if that’s even possible to do)
A great team needs different characters. The obvious difference Best – Charlton was there for all to se, but only benefited a great side that also had characters like Stiles and Crerand.
But I would never blame Eric for anything. That’s the way he was. If he had been any different, non of the good stuff would have come true.
In todays team we have a team spirit better than anyone else. I’m luke warm to Rooney. But when I see Chicharito smile… or when I read the humble comments by Berbatov, or the proud ones from Evra… or just se Fletcher running for that ball! That’s United!
We need a midfielder though. And then we’re good.
Not one bad word from my keyboard on Charlton. Fantastic footballer!

  857. Zelh says:

Costas – Dunno how serious it is, but he was subbed and they said that hey injured his left foot or ankle.

  858. Costas says:

    @Zelh

I hear that they said it wasn’t anything serious. So lets hope that’s accurate.

  859. Zelh says:

Costas – Let’s hope it isn’t anything serious.

  860. Zelh says:

According to NOTW we have discussed a deal with arsenal and nasri only wants United.

  861. The team that wouldn't die says:

And finally some good news (for the future?)
Solskjaers team in Norway is top of the league with half the games played. Not bad.

Writing away – all good – take care until next time me hearties ;)

  872. Balaji Sivaraman says:

    Good Morning ROM!

I urge you all to the read the latest two entries in the ABUNati series at Agent of Fergie. This just seems to keep getting better and better. Plus, with what is going to happen next season, there seems to be endless possibilities for more awesomeness from Cyril.

Keep them coming, Cyril, and I urge you not to post the entire thing here. It is better off left at Agent of Fergie so that you would get more hits there. It is just what I feel personally though.

  873. CedarsDevil says:

    MG, smartalex & Balaji

Morning my friends…… Not long to go now, damn I hate off season.

    Balaji

Cheers for the info on Cyril, will get to reading it now

  874. Red Devils says:

    http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Manchester-United-could-sign-Alexis-Sanchez-if-Barcelona-land-Cesc-Fabregas-article755938.html

Mirror still hyping up Sanchez it seems. This one’s for Denton, sachu and the like. ;)

I personally don’t think it is going to happen.

Wenger planning to “SPLASH THE CASH” for Wolves Striker. – This made my day. I don’t know the truth in this but the mere thought that Arsenal have been linked with Kevin Doyle had me in splits.

Ladies and Gentleman, Manchester United are officially back for pre-season training as of today.

Once a new thread comes up, can we officially stop the TSO stuff and get back to on-pitch matters. This pre-season is going to be very interesting me thinks.

  876. CedarsDevil says:

Following through what our friend Balaji suggested, I agree… It is a must read…. Here is a link to a fantastic write up. Make sure you do not piss your pants

  877. CedarsDevil says:

I seriously salute you for those write ups buddy, genius to say the least….. I honestly hope some rich bloke reads them and then turns them into a mini TV series……..

The way Rio kept addressing Nasri was just too funny!

  878. smartalex says:

Good morning MG! CedarsDevil! Balaji Sivaraman! How are we all doing?
Well, I”m doing fine, and I expect and hope that you all are!

Fibre Optic issues make this thread a little uncomfortable for me, so I won’t be chatting!

I’m certainly looking forward to the next thread.

  880. mmbuh. says:

    @ aimanunited

no you made the wrong choice, always come here after the other place, ALWAYS.

  881. WHAT ??? says:

Have we signed anybody yet??? Easy RoM 8)

    Devils Advocate.

That Wolves storys has to be a piss take! The striker Wenger has really been after for the last few seasons is Gervinho, and I must say he’s developed very well since then. He won the double last year with Lillie, and his goal record is something like 35 in 70 games with 15 odd assists. About 24 years old and looks a decent player. Only gonna cost Arsenal 11M and Samba will probably cost the same. Plus Wenger will still have the 50-60M from Cesc, Nasri and Cliche.

He’s no Alex but he’s no mug! He complained about losing Anelka, but he only bought him for 500K and sold him for 22.5M, and while he was publicly dragging his feet, nobody knew Wenger already had his eye on the young winger Henry. He paid 11M for Henry and thats 100% his player. For every pink shoed poof theirs a Vieira fellas! Im sure he’s got a list of midfielders NOBODIES heard off – after all he spotted Nasri? – Can’t really write him off and bite off his hand at the same time!

  882. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@WHAT ??, Oh yeah, I absolutely agree with you mate which is why I said that I don’t think it is the truth. But, as I said earlier, the mere fact that papers are linking Arsenal with such players is enough to provide me with laughs for days.

If Arsenal can get Samba and/or Cahill with Gervinho, they could be our main rivals next season. But that doesn’t over-ride the loss of Fabregas, Clichy (not a huge loss IMO) and maybe Nasri even. But it will definitely add some balls to their team which has been needed for some time now.

On paper, though, I can’t see a lot of obstacles for our 20th next season. Pity EPL seasons are not played on paper. ;)

  883. CedarsDevil says:

    Paul Parker

Always love your posts buddy, Wenger is no mug indeed but he seems to be more of a business man than a football manager!

Just to add to your question, have we signed anyone yet??

  884. fergie is the boss says:

WHAT ??? – the problem is, wenger does not have a team that can win the league, he starts losing more quality then it becomes more than a gaping hole. When fergie has let players go this summer, he has gone out and spend money on his main targets fast, in summer 2009 ronaldo and tevez leave, but united still had a team in place capable of winning the league. Wenger also cannot realise when he has weakness’s in his squad, since 2005 those weaknesses have got bigger and bigger and bigger, and look at his squad now. Yes wenger has spotted a player or 2, but managers are paid to win trophy’s, especially when the hilarious media and pundits put him in fergie’s league, unfortunetly for wenger he is past his best

  885. smartalex says:

Some of our players arriving this morning for training. Fucking Yay!
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2011054/Premier-League-stars-training.html

  886. Zelh says:

    So Ajose will leave us.
Had some hopes in the lad but no shame in that. It’s unbelieveable hard to get on the bench if you’re a striker.

    good luck to the lad.

  887. Zelh says:

that sanchez story is a dead horse. Italian media reported yesterday that Barca is on the verge of signing him.

  888. WHAT ??? says:

@FITB – Easy mate, wasn’t that long ago he was going on unbeaten runs tho. I’ve seen enough from him not to underestimate him. Been saying for ages Arsenal will be stronger if they sell Cesc. You say “look at his squad now”, but I see a team that is guaranteed top 4 finish without spending what Liverpool, City and Chelsea pay. How many managers has Wenger seen come and go in the top four? Like I say, he’s no Alex, but he ain’t a mug – he’s just second best. Do you think Mancini, Kenny or even Mourinho could do what Wenger does every season without fail? He spends less money while playing better football so Credit where its due mate, have you ever seen Wenger with 50-60 Million CASH burning a hole in his pocket? Im just saying, in showing respect to our opponent, people can’t bite off his hand for his player and write him off at the same time. He will buy more Nasri’s. Second best to Alex Ferguson is nothing to look down upon or under-estimate, as Wenger has shown in the past.

@Balaiji – Mate I as laughing when I saw it myself! Its gotta be a piss take. Funny thing is Mick McCarthy saying he was worth 50M, that had me cracking the fuck up!

@Cedars – Easy, yeah mate, can’t see him selling Nasri till the last minute and by then the price might be past what Alex wants to pay. Glad we got our signings in early, I’d be happy if this was it tbh. Am interested to see what Wenger does – considering the price he usually pays for players he could get FIVE Nasris with all that money. They only paid 12M and they’ll doubled that. Bank Manager indeed!

@ Smart Alex cheers for that link mate, gonna have a read.

see you on the next thread fellas, whenever that is…

  889. CedarsDevil says:

    Paul Parker

Wenger a bank manager? Perfect description to be honest! I would much rather have him manage my funds than my football team!

p.s. I do not have any funds by the way!

  890. Indian Devil says:

Ajose leaving for 300k pounds.. Seems like peanuts to be honest.

  891. smartalex says:

Surely, by definition, a league contains more than one team/person/gentlemen.
There is no league of 1.

Therefore if Wenger is not in Fergie’s league, which EPL manager is?

… and don’t start talking about Europe, because if Fergie is in the top league there, then surely Mourinho has to be (2 wins, and a final with 3 different teams); and to rate TSO as being a cut above Wenger is very short sighted.

  892. Indian Devil says:

    I got no. 900

Now did I win something

More importantly have we signed anyone yet :P

    @smartalex – Agreed regarding managers.

  893. Zelh says:

fucking hell this whinger bastard should sign a 12 yo so that we can make a deal happen with nasri

  894. Louis says:

    @ WHAT???

    Morning and all that.
Wenger buying Henry wasnt all that amazing as he was his coach at Monaco before Henry moved to Juventus so hed seen enough of him; and as for Nasri, the papers were talking about a deal for him for weeks before it was made and apparently we were in for him too amongst others. Nasri had a great season the year before at Marseille. I remember seeing him and thinking “Hey!”.

  895. denton davey says:

Balaji @ 10:40: “Mirror still hyping up Sanchez it seems.”

It ain’t over, ’til it’s over. And it ain’t over – YET ! Barcelona seem to have cash-flow problems – they offered to buy Fabregas on an HP scheme and have probably made the same offer to Udinese for Sanchez.

SAF is still lying in the weeds !

And, how about that Schweini rumour – haven’t had one of those for a while.

  896. Jeet says:

    Whats with the sudden wengerlove?

  897. denton davey says:

Zelh @ 12:15: “that sanchez story is a dead horse. Italian media reported yesterday that Barca is on the verge of signing him.”

I haven’t heard the fat lady sing, YET !

Why would you believe the “Italian media” any more than the English media ?

  898. CedarsDevil says:

One more ‘over’ and I will be over for sure!

  899. Louis says:

Apparently Clichy having City medical, so that crap about Nasri and Clichy coming together….crap. But not as funny as this: http://www.footylatest.com/man-utd-give-up-on-sneijder-and-target-his-20-million-fellow-dutchman/23075

  900. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@Jeet, Nothing better to do mate. We’ve been loving United for a long time, so just a bit of respect towards Whinger for what he’s done. Not bad before pre-season starts. Once that happens, we can go back to hating on him like good old time.

@smartalex, Many people consider Wenger to be one of the Top 10 or 20 managers of all time. His biggest drawback is his rigidity. Managers in any field need to move on with changing times. If you stick to old philosophies, you are asking for trouble in management. Unlike Sir Alex, Wenger hasn’t done that.

In terms of just management skills as of present, there are a lot of managers in Sir Alex’s league for sure like the two names you mentioned. However, Sir Alex has been in that league for the past 25 years using different management styles and philosophies. That puts him in a different league altogether IMHO.

  901. willierednut says:

Fuck sake Scott the pink! Sorry Red he he. Don’t forget your bread and butter StR. If you’re out there in twitter land, thread us up man??? No joke brother!!!

  902. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

Oh man, heard about TonyV’s injury hope it not serious stuff.

  903. Costas says:

Valencia has a sprained ankle. He might miss the next game, but it’s not enough to send him home from the tournament.

Nice to see Ryan Giggs at Carrington. He rarely does wrong there.

  904. smartalex says:

Balaji Sivaraman, very true that Sir Alex has managed to adapt, even his core principals of no-nonsense from media hungry players and girl friends, have organically adapted. His ability to be a father figure and a friend is unparalleled.

Hating Wenger for his ‘Ididnotzeeit’ ((hahaha, great username!) attitude is fine.
Not respecting his ability and achievements, is foolish and wrong.

  905. Jeet says:

@Balaji: go back and work! I think we should all petition our bosses and tell them that as True Reds, we are going to work 15 hrs a day….but only for three months. The rest is @ 5hrs a day. If a hundred million reds did that, the global labour market would get heebyjeebies, China would loose its competitive advantage and the French would…well, continue to strike. Just kidding, me I respect LeArse more than shitty or chelsea, but if I have to pick a rival manager, I say give me Rafa any fucking day

  906. parryheid says:

And to think the winner would have got the captaincy of my I Spy team.pity.

  907. Clint-IamYourPapii says:

Hi Guys its been a while !

One question : Have We Sold Anyone Yet ?

Looks like the papers are dragging up old names, schweini, huntlaar, sanchez-watt.

Let me predict tomorrow’s targets: Hmmmmm
Cassilas,Ronaldinho, Arjen Robben,Fernando Torresh,Gattuso, Eto’o and at last Red Nev’s Replacement Philip Lahm.

    Fuck wenger of 2005-20??

He’s now a finance manager of arsenal determined to maximise profits and balance books By Any Means Neccesary.
Its one thing to be patient and give the manager time, its another thing that a manager delibrately destroys the team he manages on a annual basis & blames everybody and everything for this.
Simple thing is that A Team Reflect the Manager at its Helm.

    United – SAF – Winners,Determined, stubborn, resiliance.
Arsenal -Whinger – Losing mentality, excuse making, beautiful football, incompetant,Weak, unstable
Liverpool – Dalglish – Living in the past, living off glorys from the 80′s etc & not concentrating on now.
Chelsea – ? – No stability, Mercenary, Robotic, No Loyalty from fans, players, manager or owner, Money Hungry.

  908. Sparkz says:

Wenger will go down as a very good manager, but not a great one IMO.

Never has he retained a league title, and never has he won a European trophy. 2 glaring gaps on his CV.

He’s a fantastic COACH- i.e, coaching and developing players. However, a MANAGER is a much wider term. As a manager, not only do you have to coach players- but you also have to be a good tactician, a good motivator, transfers etc etc

  909. dazbomber says:

This would be good for a new thread ,Evra On The Curse Of Manchester United

  910. smartalex says:

Sparkz – Who else in England could be considered as a great Manager, if not Wenger?

  911. Clint-IamYourPapii says:

smartalex – I’ll take this one.

Arry,Brucie,Bobby Manc,David Moyes, Raymond Domenech?

  912. Clint-IamYourPapii says:

    throw in Paul Ince :P

  913. smartalex says:

Papii – You can have them!

“The problem confronting Wenger is that he is not controlling the process, it is being taken out of his hands by disaffected players.

His great skill in the past, when success came regularly, was that he was – in football terms – the consummate economist and alchemist. He was masterful at selling players at the best time and for the best price, while renewing his squad with younger replacements. For years you could barely see the join.

Wenger must recapture that skill quickly”
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/2011/07/arsenal.html#more

Anyway, enough on Wenger from me.

  914. Sparkz says:

Smartalex- of all the managers in England atm? None bar Fergie.

When I’m talking about the greats, that is a very elite category. And the fact that Wenger has never retained a league title or won a European trophy- that’s not enough to be considered as a great IMO.

Even if he hadn’t won a European trophy- but had been very successful domestically i.e retained the title a couple of times etc, there’d be an argument for putting him in there.

  915. YipYapStam says:

alex Ferguson:- running scared, whiskey soaked, spent his way to every title ever, bought shit loads of players and through pure luck some of them turned out ok, belligerent old fool, sour faced cunt, bully, whinger, arrogant, hilarious to every football fan of other teams for his overall cantankerous nature, an old relic in need of euthanasia, a power hungry old man who will not let go until he has a massive heart attack on the touch line (hopefully soon), a fraudulent cheat which encompasses his son as well, a single minded stubborn old fool, a fossil of what football was 15 years ago, a lucky cretin who sold his soul to satan a long time ago to be worshiped by the inbred majority of reds fans.

As for evra, he’s just a little opinionated pygmi, has he signed new deal yet or is he fuking off too? Sooner the better on both counts. It seems united must have at least one full back who is a prick, G.nev previously makes me cringe on many levels, rafael is like a spoilt fucking baby who needs a top slap in the kyte and Dennis (father Irwin) Irwin was like some catholic kiddy fiddler which is prob why he and fergie got on so well. This post does not mean i hate the club, i love them as much as all of you faggots put together. Please don;t respond and degrade yourself because everyone has an opinion but i don;t give a fuck about yours.

  916. theboogeyman says:

    YipYapStam- Hahaha

  917. WHAT ??? says:

Easy Fellas – Course he “knew” him in france, but he played him as a winger. He had Henry in mind before he even signed Anelka, im saying he’s got replacements in mind for Nasri Cliche and def Cesc, plus he’s got 50-60M not including their pending signings. Doom and gloom at Le’ Arse is hype Lads, Ramsey and Wilshire got more going for them than Shamps, Stevie Me and BARRY correct? Good Village is stuck with a half dead team under Mourinho’s shadow. Apart from Toure, Mancini ain’t done much in the markets, so Cliche Silva and the like don’t bother me. Kenny’s already pissed half the Club up the wall on near-marks, but you still wouldn’t back him to finish ahead of Wenger.

As for the Club we all know and Love, we already look strong AS IS without Nasri – and if he wants to wear the shirt and Alex signs him then fair play. Eitherway the majority of our Lads will be better players just for having another season under the belt, regardless of the final. We still won the 19th. Still wouldn’t be surprised if its us and Arsenal for the title this Season, and thats not loving Wenger, thats not giving two fucks about “Wenger”, thats just knowing your enemy pal, Lol, big difference.

  918. Besty07 says:

That time of the month again yipyap?

  919. WHAT ??? says:

    smartalex @ 13:54 – bingo

YipYap – are you deluded or what? If Alex isn’t the greatest on this Island who is? Nutjob…..

  920. smartalex says:

Cashley speaking to FemaleFirst: “I still believe if we’d won at Old Trafford a couple of weeks before the end of last season we would have won the league.”
    http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/sport/football/Ashley+Cole-4038.html

Fucking unbelievable! We were 9 points clear, and he’s still thinking about it.
I doubt that last season’s games play any part in our players thoughts. We’re looking ahead.

  921. Jeet says:

    I shall ignore the trolls

  923. smartalex says:

YipYap usually shouts death threats to Sir Alex, and always slanders him horrifically.

  924. YipYapStam says:

Wenger is better than whiskey soaked fergie. Fergie copied wenger and had more resources at his disposal to out do him. If wenger spent what fergie has, arsenal would be twice the team our reds are. Even Mancini tactically raped fergie at wembley, it pisses me off that everyone bums him. He’s a whiskey soaked senile cunt who deserves to rot

  925. ididnotzeeit says:

  926. ZAPPA says:

YIP YAP you really are embarrassing yourself. Why not take your whining back to your teams blog where at least others in your herd can pat your back and agree how much you are all so much better than everyone else and how much hard luck you’ve had compared to ours. Go on there’s a good lad trot off you bitter jealous fool. There I said it. That’s my retort for the week!!!!!!! To all the true UNITED fans good afternoon and god bless.

  927. lawman10 says:

why oh why, are you people letting small minded twats like yip yap get thru to you?

I did say I hadn’t noticed any trolls but I’ve seen about 6 in the last week. Enjoy the funny season while you can YOU cunts, because when United are back at the office defending the Title, no-marks like you won’t get a word in edgeways, and thats clearly what you want isn’t it? you sad twat.

@smartalex – I don’t remember that screen name “trolling”. RoM sleeper cells. What a daft cunt.

Cedars & Balaji – thanks very much for your suggestions and for encouraging others to visit.

Special mention for Fred who never gets a shout out. The internet needs more Fred. :-)

I see a dorsal fin poking up from the water… Nasri on his way?

  934. Gus says:

Thanks for the heads up Smartalex. I wS about to either a) go Tonto on yipYap for justifiable reasons (I’d prob just get done for manslaughter due to level of provocation) or b) congratulate him on a post with hitherto unseen post- modern ironic depth, challenging our faith in United through clever and sophisticated use of the English language. Thanks to you, I now see he’s just a little tosser. I owe you. Btw I have been reading ROM for a long time but this is my first post. So a big hello to you all ( or most of you…..) and – be kind! Gus

  935. willierednut says:

Hello Gus! Happy posting pal. Try and ignore the trolls mate. They go away, when you don’t reply.

  936. King Eric says:

YipYap – Oh are you still alive? Fuck off and die you horrible attention seeking scumbag cunt.

  937. King Eric says:

Oi you fucking cunt. STILL waiting to find out where you sit in Old Trafford. Please enlighten me.

  938. smartalex says:

You’re welcome Gus! I thought some might need the heads up.
Now that you’ve broken the ice, be sure to drop a line regularly.
    Welcome to the page!

PPS – Gus is Godalming red now, sorry- site wouldn’t accept ‘Gus’ as a username.

Ok, that’s the technical crap hopefully put to bed. From now on I will aim to dazzle with piercing insights and unforgivable biased points of view! Cheers.

  941. Ibrahim Affelay says:

    few more posts to 1000!

  942. smartalex says:

ididnotzeeit – but there’s nothing wrong with your hearing. My ears seem to be set to ‘delay’.

  943. fergie is the boss says:

WHAT ??? – I stopped taking arsenal serious since the 2006/07 season, when they can barely put together a title challenge, through united’s transitional period between aug 2009 and present, then it is hard to see them ever putting together a title challenge. Unless they get a new GK, a centre half, a more defensive midfielder to dove tail ramsey and wilsheire, a better wide player to supply goals for a new striker they need badly, because their current strikers are just unreliable for different reasons.

  944. Kings says:

That horrible scum bastard cunt will die soon.

  945. YipYapStam says:

@ king Thanks, it’s great to see that you also want that “horrible scum bastard to die soon” (FERGIE) too. King Eric, good to see you still remember me you wet fart. If united had Wenger for the last 10 years they would have won everything. I look at AFC in envy as a MUFC fan because they play entertaining football… we play the fergie way (get the ball wide, and cross it in AKA playing the percentages like bolton under allardyce). Fergie has lost it, FACT. that is why we got our ass’s kicked against city and barca when it mattered, FACT. You guys really are a shower of shit, FACT

  946. King Eric says:

Ha. Priceless. Wenger and Arsenal have won fuck all you silly cunt. How come we have won the fucking LOT with FERGIE? You really are a WUM. Not even amusing son. . Come on tell me where you stand at OT? Fucking gooner or bitter. Fuck off. Oh and by the way I can assure you I aint a cockney . We play Spurs and Arsenal at HOME hence the question last week. Sad cunt.

  947. willierednut says:

    Funny he mentioned city…

  948. Cyril Sneer says:

    FACTS eh?

    Let’s talk about FACTS Fer-gie, let’s talk about ref-er-ees…

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSzNYstaAh0

  949. YipYapStam says:

the only place i stand at OT is the bar ya daft cunt. I sit in my seat watching tha boyz in red. Yeah AFC have won fuck all coz they spend fuck all, if wenger had fergies resources as of the last 20 years, united would be undisputed best on earth, instead we are in the 2nd tier of the big clubs behind real and barca. Wenger is a tactician, fergie needs to see a mortician

  950. smartalex says:

    RedMegleeker hates YipYapStam.

  951. smartalex says:

    redmegleeker is yipyapstam

  952. Kings says:

YipYapStam – You are fucking priceless. I did not even address you, but being the scum piece of shit bastard that you are, you took the bait and replied. Nicely played. You spit venom at Fergie and United and in the same sentence refer to United as ‘we’. What a classless fucking cunt you really are. You accuse people of being ‘hard men’ behind a keyboard, but when people ask you where you sit so they can actually meet you in person, you shit yourself and throw in vague answers, dodging the actual questions put forward to you. Coward.

  953. YipYapStam says:

coward? I already been to prison for fighting at the match, i don’t wanna meet anyone and end up back there and lose my season ticket, next time i’ll never be able to go to the game again. I never once said anything about being hard or threaten anyone o say what you will but I didn’t. As for taking your bait, a starvin sparrow wouldn’t eat well on your maggot son. Your mums deformed clit is bigger than your cock, dwarfism is an understatement. You’re all foreskin and no balls maggot breath hahaha

  954. King Eric says:

Well said Kings. This cunt is a bottler otherwise he would meet me at the game . Fucking prick. RedScott, Megleeker, YipYap, Captaincunt. Fuck me, multiple personalities. You need help pal.

YipYap – Behind Madrid? Oh yeah they have been so succesful the last few years. You aint bitter are you?

  955. King Eric says:

Oh dear. YipYap is now a football hooligan. How old are you? 12?

  956. Costas says:

The troll is still around? Haha. Take it easy on him lads. He’s done prison time.

  957. YipYapStam says:

i’m 45. Below Madrid? Fucking too right you deluded twats. As for multiple personalities, I don;t know what the fuck ya mean, I am me, nobody else but if you wanna think i am many people pissing you off then do so. I could not give a fuck if your skanky ass burned to dust. You are the weakest links, goodbye… seeya next time, you little queens

  958. Kings says:

Didn’t know you could do time for pillow fighting or in your case, pillow biting. Fuck off you mug. I know people who will snap you in two you cunt.

  959. willierednut says:

Mos def a spastic, this guy. Probably got buggered in jail. Feel sorry for him ha ha. Couldn’t pull that one off lol.

  960. Kings says:

YipYapStam – What the fuck are you bringing people’s parents into this for you fucking scum bastard. Did I mention your parents you fucking cunt?

  961. The team that wouldn't die says:

SERIOUSLY! NO! Wenger could not have done as well as Fergie. And even if he could (wich he couldn’t) why would a “fan” want him when he could have SAF?
There’s no end to my admiration for SAF. He took this club back where it belongs! It was a task no one else could handle, and he did it from the bottom of the club, making the heart pump harder and better. DON’T SLAM OF FERGIE!
At the MEN forum there’s a club for “fans” like that. The leader is Danny from Wilmslow. You can make a club of your own and ask Wenger to manage it.

Close to 1000! Don’t remeber what the tread started with…

  962. YipYapStam says:

aaawww diddums king, are you a little sensitive about parents? Did daddy butt fuck ya haha. Did mummy run away?

  963. fergie is the boss says:

YipYapStam – there there, there there, what did you do steal a shoe yea very dangerous.. I wonder who won the fight ,the 18 anorexic girl, and you did the time for getting your ass kicked. Its alright you probably could not fuck a lamp post let alone someone’s mother.

Wenger is a loser, has ace puts it
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Kz7YUdy-Cg

Just face it, wenger is a loser. Oh yes this is the same wenger who said, ronaldo was overpriced, yet paid over 12 millio for wiltord

  964. smartalex says:

Can’t be too many 45 year old ‘already been to prison for fighting at the match’, and now attending and holding a season ticket to Old Trafford. In fact, when that claim is added to his threats on Sir Alex it is incumbent on RoM to advise the club or the authorities.

  965. YipYapStam says:

Oh little taddle tale smart alex. I never threatened fergie once, i just hope he dies! Let’s see:-

    Dear GMP,
there is an ex-convict united fan who doesn’t like fergie and wants him to die a horrible death. He hurts my sensitive wickle feelings and i don’t like him, pwetty pwease can you arrest him and revoke his season ticket? Yours sincerely, a prancing little faggot.

@ Fergie is the boss:- Yeah the 18 year old anorexic girl put up a good fight but tell your sister, if she eats a bit more she may be able to fend people off a little better

  966. fergie is the boss says:

YipYapStam – where has it got arsenal this football nowhere. You envy wenger you are a joke, lets go through the 90′s, and pick apart your love in for a losing manager

1994 side, would own every arsenal side that has ever been put together, they had pace passion power and the ability to score goal after goal after goal. Pound for Pound the best 11 fergie has ever had at his disposal. Schmecheal parker bruce pallister irwin keane ince kanchelskis giggs hughes cantona, name a side that played better football in the premiership era than that side

1996 side – a dawn of a new era at united, new players coming through, the worlds best keeper at the back in his prime, a midfield 4 that was coming together, that would become one of the best midfield 4 combo’s ever put together

1999 – if you cannot enjoy that side, for total football, for ability to play under a mountain of pressure has the cooker went to the limit, and the season’s most important and key games had everyone in hospital beds

2000 – all I can say to that side is take a bow son

2003 – the last few months of football they were sensational, and the united vs madrid match no one will forget

2007 – The return of fast flowing football, rooney and ronaldo at their best, the best back 5 in the business established, and put mourinho’s chelsea at an end

2008 – lets not forget this great double winning outfit, unbreachable at the back, deadly going forward, the worlds best player at the club, and signed some quality players

2011 – this side looks to be the spring board to another dominating period for the club.

What fergie does that wenger failed to do in 2004, strengthen the side and let go of players on their last legs, or need to move them on. Fergie lost a keeper, did fergie go for a cheap option which wenger does no, he went out scouted keepers for months and signed a quality keeper, not keep the check-book closed to keep the moths happy. What fergie does that wenger fails to do, change the way his side plays so it keeps his united side on top. Every challenge fergie has taken them all on, wenger failed to challenge mourinho’s chelsea, he could not challenge a united side in a transitional period, and come may 2012 we will see the same results

  967. Kings says:

YipYapStam – No but you was a result of your mum’s accidental insemination after being spit roasted by two wrestlers. Now fuck off and die you scum fucking bastard child. The fact that you made the initial remarks about other peoples parents just shows how seriously abused you was as a child, especially when your dad arse raped you without moistening your ring piece before entry. I come from a strong and steady family. You on the other have a fucked up one, hence your vile comments.

  968. YipYapStam says:

Such a vivid imagination… I’m being sarcastic. You’re stereotypical insult is both wide of the mark and cliched, yet I wouldn’t expect creativity from you mundane drones. Fergie out, Glazers out, Giggs out and for now, I’m out (you’ll be glad to know)… But in the words of Arnie “i’ll be back” to shit on ya mums eye ball

  969. CedarsDevil says:

    YipYapStam

You are a lost cause son. You come on here posing as a United fan whilst throwing every sort of abuse possible at the club and its manager only to seek attention…….. No doubt you are either a bitter or a dipper, either way both are shit….

You seem to crave for attention, probably abandoned as a child and hence the reason you attack people about their mothers and fathers….. Where ever you are in the world I am sure they have treatment centers for people like you, just hope you do not live in Saudi Arabia else they would have chopped your head off by now just to put you out of your misery

  970. willierednut says:

He talks about cliches, and then gives one himself. Spastic.

  971. fergie is the boss says:

shame it never got to the 1000 mark, maybe its not deserved when we have shit cunts on here
