Just in case seeing Carlos Tevez with his arm around Patrice Evra put you off our defender, the Frenchman has got himself back in our good books following his comments about derby day.
“Sometimes we need mistakes to have a great game like this,” Evra said. “I really think we could have killed the game early on, but when we scored we started to make mistakes. I think for the fans, for everybody, for us, it was an amazing day today. To score like this in the last second of the game, it was just amazing. The players on the bench were coming on the pitch, the fans, the atmosphere – this is why I say thanks to God I play in the Premier League and for United. A day like this is just amazing.”
With Craig Bellamy scoring just seconds before normal time elapsed, Evra is fully aware that Michael Owen saved the day for us.
“It would have been very difficult to go inside the dressing room if we had drawn,” he added. “I think the manager would have given the hairdryer to everybody! It was important to win because City hadn’t lost a game. When we were drawing, I was thinking that people would start to say that City are still strong because they never lose. Now everybody has lost, except for Chelsea.”

Man Utd News 24/7

it certainly didnt put mew off to see his arm around tevez.if he considers tevez to be his friend then so be it.it certainly dosent bother me because on the field he is looking great.he has been brilliant against SWP and Lennon in the last 2 games. As long as he does the job on the field adn stays loyal to the club i dont care whether he puts his arm around tevez or marries tevez
yeah I agree aig.
He can be friends of any footballers, as long as can maintain his professionalism on and off the pitch.
The making of a Legend..and he’s hitting the form of 07-08.
I love this dude..he can come and shag ma wife any minute!!
Evra is the best left-back in the world!
Amazing, amazing player!!
Ahh man! What WON’T this guy say! Superb player, great guy. Swear he’s up there with Rooney these days in terms of popularity.
Also just generally about the game…you’ve gotta love how City have spent hundreds of millions and in the end it was a free agent that sunk them. And also the guy that was brought in to replace Tevez, who didn’t score. Pure poetry really.
And with MOTD2 confirming that the ref only played 1sec more than he should of done, as well as us dominating the statistics for the game, there just no argument that it was both fair and deserved. One of the best days of my life. Even better was being stuck in traffic coming out the stadium next to Anderson’s Audi R8. He had to wave us into come into his lane…what a day.
@Arni, you really saw Anderson? Lucky! Do you live in Manchester?? I’m moving to England next summer to teach and have to pick what area I want to go to. Obviously I’m biased to Manchester, but my family lives in Surrey. How is Manchester?
As For Evra, I saw this interview and it was funny when he was talking about the hairdryer. He was laughing. I didn’t care that he was with Tevez, I was more upset when Rooney went to pat Bellamy on the back after he attacked that fan!
If I could pick only one united player to have a pint with, It would be this legend!
right up der wid all da Magic manutd matches , ive neva felt dis good since 99 chmp league final ! God we really playd well considerin wer weak in da eyes of our own welsh legend . I neva felt Owen cud influence much , n initially hoped Berbatov stayed on , but Wat da hell do I knw Ferguson ! U got it rite for da millionth time ! Sorry city u need 2 find God himself 2 coach ul 2 a max second place! Haha glory glory manutd .
A great guy, my respect for him as a player and as a person is increasing day by day.
Long live Evra.
N i thank God dat i suport man u!
His partnership on the left wing with Giggs in this match was absolutely amazing! Together they tore Micah Richards and Shaun W.Phillips completely apart. The fact that these two, Giggs and Evra, got all the assists in this match says it all….
As long as he plays for us and he is professional on the pitch I couldn’t care less. He has a right to be friends with anyone he wants to especially since they used to play together and were close friends. You can’t expect him to go from friends to enemies once Tevez left. Anyway, Evra can put his arms around StevieMe or TinyTears, can never see that happening though, still wouldn’t change how I feel abt him.
giggsy, rooney, evra. my alltime players- in that order
Just read a quote from Gorrida…
“Manchester City have not provoked any of this controversy and United have created a climate of hostility against us.”
Well what was that ad on Deansgate if not provocation?
I love Old Trafford being described as hostile – that’s the way it’s suppose to be! Marvellous!
Morning
I love this lad. Says all the right things and really loves playing for United and understands the history of the club. Best left back in the world tm.
I liked the fact Owen said that scoring the winner in a derby for UNited is one of the highlights of his career. Great thing to say but also shows you just how little he achived with the dippers and fascists.
Finally I can’t wait till Sir Alex sees of Hughes the pretender. Fucking blue nose cunt.
hehe, This guy is the best. Though I was hurt to see him hanging with Tevez. Would have been better if he spat at him. lol
i call him 10/10 pad!
Sent to me from heaven paddy evra, i think cashley cole is just ahead of em on current form.
Patrice is the main man, walks the walk and talks the talks knows how to get the fans onside and knows his United history – if he’s half as good with the ladies he’s gotta be laughing.
Legend!!
Evra’s first game for us was vs shitty,we lost n philips scored, since then evra has iproved alot n become united legand, Love this boy.
Evra always says the right things – he must have one hell of a PR agent! But more importantly, he backs all the talk with great performances on the pitch. How many players can boast that?
His relationship to Tevez doesn’t bother me, and shouldn’t bother most supporters, I think. Their private lives may not be so private because of their profession, but players are just regular people (with larger bank balances) when it’s not matchday.
Sorry for the extra post, but I found this photo (from Dirty Tackle) really amusing:

@ sreelalr
it says hargo’s expected return is on oct 3rd. does that mean he’ll be playing from then onwards? I was thinking it’d be good if he started in the carling cup game with the youngsters to get his fitness levels back up.
ZD Casuals, hilarious picture!
thank god evra plays for us. love this guy.
me man evra is one of our most consistent players since he arrived with us, not sayin he doesnt make mistakes but he NEVER has a bad game. the man is dynamite. he reminds me of an old pal from school,a double of him, yea hes brilliant. 4-1 win for the young bloods against wolves. UNITED
love evra to bits but can no one see his crossing isnt that great..gets into great positions for the cross then fails to deliver most times…frustrating
Ulster Red – Yes I am afraid I have to agree with you on that.
I don’t understand. If SAF didn’t respect his friend why is he still at the club ? I am so young and naive ?
“this is why I say thanks to God I play in the Premier League and for United”
United would have been enough.
Tevez disrespected SAF or Evra is a mercenary and a glory hunter…
@ Ulster Red
Oh, Come on!!!! Finally we are at the beginning of the road. It isn’t only crosses. 99% of the time he gets into good positions, goes at the opponent and loses the ball. Somebody has opened his eyes, not bad.
Can’t put me off if he had his arm around Tevez, that’s like saying Rooney is a cunt for associating with Gerrard (actually, fuck it, he is, lol!)
Great to see Patrice playing so well, after a dodgy spell. Best left back in the world.
I’m amazed at how well he can dribble and beat a man. 1, 2, 3 guys come on! He goes through them like a hot knife goes through butter!
Wait the fact that he’s happy playing in the best league of the world makes him a glory hunter?
Sigh the things some people say when they dont like a particular player
The little man is an absolute hero. Its taken a while but now Nike are capitalising on their tie up with him;

Scott you need to get this vid posted direct on the RoM site
Evra is a Legend in my book. The guy is pure class in the way he plays and his attitude. He just oozes class.
His game as developed and now he is world class left.
“probably the best left back in the world”.
