Manchester United have booked their place in the Europa League final after knocking out Celta Vigo at Old Trafford.
In the final five seconds of injury time, John Guidetti missed an open goal from a few yards out which would have seen his team reach the final on away goals. Guidetti spent seven years at Manchester City and ahead of the game claimed that his side would turn Manchester blue.
With City failing to fill their ground for derby day, with blue seats spotted all over the Etihad a few weeks ago during our 0-0 draw, maybe he was being ironic when he claimed “Manchester is blue”.
I played in England and lived in Manchester for six years, so I follow both of the teams there. (United are) a very good team. Obviously they’ve got a good manager, a fantastic stadium, and they’re one of the favourites to win the Europa League but, as they say, ‘Manchester is blue’ and that’s how it will be when we visit there as well, because we are Celta Vigo and we will try to keep the city blue.
