Manchester United Reserves came back from 2-0 down against Chelsea today to earn a last grasp draw. Both Fabio and Rafael Da Silva were playing after missing out on any action yesterday against Portsmouth.
David Gray captained a United side which included the likes of Richard Eckersley, Darron Gibson, Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley in their away trip to Chelsea.
By half time, the blues were 2-0 up following goals from Jacob Mellis and Scott Sinclair, in a game which started with them rattling the woodwork with 30 seconds played.
However, with 75 minutes on the clock, Fabio scored from 25 yards, with the Chelsea keeper getting his finger tips to it but wasn’t able to keep it out. Both Cleverley and Cameron Stewart came close to scoring, pressing hard for the equaliser.
With time running out, Daniel Drinkwater was brought down in the area, with Gibson scoring from the spot.

Anyone got a link to a video? I’d love to see the goal.
They are both going to be massive for us.
Here’s the link

Ronaldo wasn’t proven when he first arrived, neither were Anderson and Nani, we gave them their chance. Now it’s time to give the twins their chance, if we start winning 3-0 bring Fabio on for Evra’ and let Rafael play a few matches a month for heavens’ sake.
I thought Fabio was a left footed player? Or does he just play on the left? Or is he just a punk who can crush it with both feet?
And from that link, it looked like Rafeal was at fault for the chelski goal they showed…
He’s right footed and just plays on the left @ Drew Vader.
Nice shot, maybe the keeper could’ve done better but it’s not bad seeing a defender doing that! Dennis Irwin watch out!
Did anyone actually watch that entire clip? I’m glad that woman doesn’t present on MUtv!
Agree with Peejay on that one!
Good goal, might sound stupid, but it kinda bothers me that he’s a little too attack minded for a defender…i don’t know why, it just does.
OTRed,
they’ve played on the wings as well as in defence, similar to Evra. I guess that’s why they are that way. Didn’t do Cafu any harm.

Jesus listening to your man you’d think it was Scott Sinclair who scored the cracker and not Fabio
I don’t get why Rafael is getting all the first team chances when Fabio has been lighting it up for the reserves. I would have liked to see him in front of Evra against Pompey and with Nani back now I doubt he’ll get a chance at LM
Nice goal. Too bad he’d never get that amount of time and space in the prem. (or any other professional league)
