Mate, Rossi, Forlan and Eagles may have made it at other clubs, but they were never going to make it at United… simples. Piqué is the only player that fits into that category of regrets, but in fairness, it would be a few years before he was ensured first team football at United, so good on the lad for moving to Barcelona.

no matter what Hargo/Fergie say, I am extremely sceptical of him making a return to United in any serious capacity – unfortunately he is simply too injury prone – I want curly hair too, but not a couple of bung knees… it’s a crying shame because he adds another dimension to our mf, but selling these players is probably a move to get someone more dependable – Xavi and Iniesta showed that United’s MF can be torn apart. We are in massive debt, so to remain solvent we do need to sell these players, and they may show glimpses of promise, but we need the finished article at the moment…
