Feed the scousers, five Cantonas

Take a look at the range of designs on the shop or take a look at the ideas for Christmas.

A greater range of designs are available on the US shop which unfortunately bumps up p&p to European destinations, although most t-shirts are available for around £16-17 including delivery.

Quality! Also, only one Moses on the republik and thats Remi!! Bryan Robson, to think we even considered for 5 seconds about selling him!

  11. ironbrand says:

I want that “republik of mancunia” headwarmer for xmas!!!

  12. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike

Never thought the club ever considered selling him, he never wanted to leave…. Was just that fucking cunt Platini who kept tapping him up….. And of course there is only ONE Moses and that is Remi!

Saha believes the game on these shores is more physically demanding than ever.

“It has become more intense. Quicker. More physical,” he said. “Today, the tactical element has almost become a side issue. What matters is to be ready physically and mentally, because it never stops. In Italy, matches have rhythm with strong and weak periods. Here, it is 90 minutes solid.

“I also believe that the arrival of foreign coaches has changed the deal. They have brought more rigour in all aspects and Europeanised the play. When I arrived in 1999, we had the habit of seeing play with wingers, and attackers surging into the box and aiming balls onto their heads.

“But the tradition still lives on, like at Manchester United, where attacking play is part of the tradition since the time of the Busby Babes and George Best.”

I am getting annoyed with RoM, people always going off topic and that nonsense spouting moron that is Cedars is a major culprit….

  16. smartalex says:

Solskjaer’s former Molde boss and the man who sold him to the Reds in 1996, Age Hareide, believes the man who famously put the ball in the Germans’ net has the mind set to be a serious contender when Fergie calls it a day.

“What Ole Gunnar has achieved in his first season as Molde manager is no surprise,” Age told M.E.N. Sport. Neither is it a surprise that he is being linked with top jobs in England and, of course, his name will come up when Manchester United’s future is debated.

“It is a very big step from being a manager in Norway to managing a club in the Premier League in England like United. It is also a long way to fall if it doesn’t work out when you get there. If it doesn’t work out when you take that prime post then it is extremely hard to build your CV back up again.

“It is all about timing really. You have to pick the right moment to take on a new challenge. And let’s be honest, Ole certainly knew about timing when he was a player! I think he is a man made for the big occasion and the big stage. I think, ideally, there would be an interim step between Molde and United because of that enormous leap from one job to the other. However, there is also a part of me that says if anyone can make that jump then it is Solskjaer. ”

“Moving from Norway to Manchester as a player was a massive step for him but I was convinced he could do it. When I was manager of Molde, and since then too, Sir Alex Ferguson has rung me many times asking if such and such a player would be able to make it in the Premier League. There have been many I have had to advise him that they wouldn’t. However, when he rang about Ole I had no hesitation in saying yes he could do it.”

    Snide fucker.

  18. CedarsDevil says:

    smartalex

I love you for that link and story, well in fact I love you period………..

In all honesty I can never picture anyone else at the dugout on match days than Ole after the great man calls it a day.

  19. smartalex says:

    … also from Age Hareide”

“As a person Ole Gunnar lives by being accurate in everything he does. He is deeply into his football and is a real student of the game. When I had him as a young player at Molde he would keep notes after every training session. Anything that was said to him he would write down. He was meticulous and I believe he continued that at United.”

“He always knew where he was going. He planned his career. You just know he will have his ambitions as a manager mapped out probably as well.”

Very exciting! See you later Ole!

Barr none!! And if people think Roy Keane’s performance in Turin is a United Benchmark (don’t get me wrong, it was awesome) watch this game start to end and watch our skipper on that night… Words fail me! I had lost my voice through screaming but they’d have failed me anyway! Cheers for the reminder Marro!

  29. daemondada says:

    Hi ppl,
we r definitely in for a tough yuletide fixturewise.this is definitely not d time to sell or loan out players as we have suffered d worst spell of injuries in our recent history this season.I am even of the mind that we recall some of our promising youngsters frm their farm-outs.
That being said,I am of the unwavering opinion dat we will get thru this most unforgiving of winters unscathed and on top of d pile come May.
Off topic,on the Fletcher thread there was talk of us checking out Torres. He comes across to yours sincerly as a player who needs the genius managerial powers of SAF to explode.I always rated him frm his atletico Madrid days (though he chose d Spanish contingent in England over us-can’t quite blame him for dat) and do bliv he is class.if we can get him for 10-15 millions (ridiculous u say?) on reasonable wages and after a rigorous thorough medical to make sure he is 100% physically OK (I leave the mental aspect to our Dark Knight),then I think we could ease our midfield worries by dropping Wazza deeper knowing we got an experienced head @ its prime leading d line.besides his work rate would drastically reduce visavis chelsea cos we all know that we have top class service @ utd once u as a striker can get into dangerous channels.
    Once again,I love u Fletcher.U are blessed.
    GGMU!!!

    Hi all.
Scot, i think you need to now remove the Hargreaves Wife t shirt from the shop!
I mean, no prob letting one of ours do the missus, but a bitter?!

  31. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike

Spot on pal…. We all know that the atmosphere at OT back then was better than it is today and that has its reasons which we have discussed before…. As for Robbo, not only was he brilliant that night he was simply always brilliant… In all honesty I can never recall him having a bad game or even an average game for that matter.

  32. Mikekelly12 says:

    Its in my blood
Haha… Plus, he’s only been there 5 mins and there he is out on the bitters Christmas party dressed as bat man!! Twat!

  33. smartalex says:

Ole at the helm, RedNev assistant and Scholes as first team coach!
    A wonderful and feasible thought.

  34. Mikekelly12 says:

    Cedars
I agree! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. He was the only player that when I got to the ground and opened my programme and saw that he wasn’t playing I felt immediately drained and thought, we’re not going to win today!!

  35. dazbomber says:

@CedarsDevil- I was in the right side of the Stretford end it was a fantastic atmosphere , there were some great players in that team. Big Norman was always my favorite .

  36. smartalex says:

daemondada – I’d love to read your comments as the times I’ve tried do show me that you have a good sense of humour. Why not post in english? We all do. The blog’s guidelines do suggest that sms jargon is unnecessary and undesirable.

I’d prefer to be able to read your comments. Would you prefer to be read?

Quality mate! Proper European night. Can you believe Greame Hogg helped shackle Diego Maradonna!!! Also got an assist for Robbo’s first! Greame fucking Hogg!!

  38. CedarsDevil says:

    dazbomber

I arrived late that evening and could not get into the Stretty (always my preferred choice) so I had to settle for a ticket at what is now known as the South Stand… Who knows, we may have bumped into each other! Had an old woman next to me who went nuts at the final whistle and starting kissing me! haha

  39. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike

Hogg scored an own goal in the first leg right? Bugger was the Evans of the 80′s! hahaha

  40. dazbomber says:

Does any one remember the Stetford end and how different parts ie the left side tunnel and the rightside have large pockets of areas eg the rightside had Eccles and Salford the tunnel had Wythenshaw i do nt know much of the left side does any one else remember this.

  41. CedarsDevil says:

Maradonna got the stick of his life that night, we totally nullified him….. and of course the Falklands war was still very fresh so that did not help matters

  42. CedarsDevil says:

    dazbomber

Been over 23 years for me pal so my recollection is fucked….. All I remember is being squashed like a bloody pea every time we had a chance to score…. Always tried to avoid being next to them metal bar thingies as they tended to squash my fucking balls!

  43. Mikekelly12 says:

    Dazbomber
I used to go in (was it E or H) stand. The benches above the Stretford End and climb over and just stand wherever I could leg it to before the stewards grabbed me. Generally stayed away from the tunnel but was mostly right side. Moved from there quite early in my United life and set anchor in United Road for some face to face banter with the enemy!

  44. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike & dazbomber

Do you fellas remember them scratch card thingies back then which would give you an all day free pass on trains and buses in Manchester for that day? I used to forge the fuckers using a silver pen and use the same ticket multiple times….hahaha Got caught at Piccadilly eventually and was even read my rights by a hot police woman!

Don’t remember them pal. I had a 16-18 bus pass for the bee line bus service. Think I could use the little gem busses too. Hot WPC eh, hope you got her number?! I got caught jumping into the stretty and got taken to the dibble. He turned round and it was my old history teacher!! He let us off god bless him!

  47. Mikekelly12 says:

    New Lee Martin thread chaps.

  48. King Eric says:

Graham Hogg was superb that night. Robbo was over rated in his day. Not a patch on Scott Parker,

    King Eric

Hahahaha, just cracked me up pal

  50. Paco Rabane says:

I think Ash has had a double dose of coffee! :)

  51. King Eric says:

Cedars – Ha. I was infact being serious!

    Not.

  52. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

Would never have doubted that you were being serious for one second my friend, I know you too well..

For those who did watch Robbo live, what an honor eh?

  53. King Eric says:

Cedars – Absolutely mate. To think as well he suffered fractured collar bones, broken legs, arms etc. Hard as nails.

  54. dazbomber says:

CedarsDevil- those metal bars were fucking horrible
MikeKelly12 – I use to do the same in the scoreboard end . The banter with away fans nothing like it.

  55. smartalex says:

I saw Robbo play once. United sent a weak squad to Johannesburg, but it didn’t matter as Robbo was playing. I travelled 1000 km by mini-bus to see him in the friendly against Arsenal.

Two yellow cards, and off. Fucking disaster, what can you do?

I’ve seen Robbo play for United, can’t take that away from me.

  58. Kevin says:

    @daemondada 11:53
I had thought the same thing when I had about Torres. Rooney can be shifted to the center but am not so comfortable with his application at the moment.
Cedars, that is a very funny story on the forgeries.

  59. Paco Rabane says:

Rooney won’t be shifting anywhere for that bitch. It’s a non story anyway. United aren’t interested in him. Maybe once, but not now.

  60. smartalex says:

    It’s my pace-maker, CedarsDevil!

  61. daemondada says:

    @smartalex 12:15

Sorry for the belated reply bro, just proceeded on a lunch break.
Thanks for taking out the time and effort to peruse the unimportant ramblings of a once-in-a-while ‘newbie’ poster as myself you being a RoM heavyweight and all.please bear with my ‘sms’ language because I’m not allowed to use official bandwidth and so I’m forced to contribute my ‘quota’ covertly from my hand held device (as can be clearly seen from the portrait rather than landscape layout of my pieces). It might also interest you to know (though I’m sure you do) that amalgams such as can’t,won’t,don’t etc were frowned upon when they first appeared on the scene. Now,they are standard fare.
Still, there is no substitute for hardwork and my lazy approach in communicating with fellow RoMers is bang out of order.
Thanks for the advice and henceforth I’ll mke the effort to be as clear and concise as possible when pinning up my posts on RoM’s wall and reduce my use of sms and social networking ‘speak’ to the barest minimum (you must also forgive rioferdy5 as well eh?).
@RoM,I’m so glad Fletch’s condition is finally out in the open. One word-Closure.
Now we can surge ahead in our title defense unfettered by drama of any sort (injuries apart).
God continue to bless Man United.

  62. Paul Parker says:

Nothing would piss the Scousers off more than buying Torres, and as much as im tempted to say he’s 100% fucked and past it, I wouldn’t write him off after going to Chelsea for 50 million. I’d say he’s 95% fucked and past it, so theres hope for him somewhere I guess.

As for United buying him he wouldn’t be my ideal choice, but if he’s really going for 20 odd million thats not a bad price to have Torres sat behind Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez. You never know with our manager, but I doubt we’d want him anyway. Still think Spain is his best bet as he’s turned pale as fuck since living over here and his goal threat has similarly faded into a pasty shadow of his former self. That boy needs some sun and paella… pronto. He looks like a flipping impostor these days.

  63. Ash says:

I would prefer Huntelaar to torres if we are to sign a striker. I thought we could have signed huntelaar 2 -3 years ago. The boy is a talent. He knows where the goal is. Great finisher.
He is less injury prone also and could easily be top class for us for 4 odd seasons.

  64. daemondada says:

    @kevin,

hi bro, forgive my time lapse in responding to your post. You are quite right in your misgivings on Wazza’s application in a CM role yet I’m sure it’s nothing that some astute tutoring frm Scholesy cannot fix.remember how the Ginger Maestro used to bomb forward frm his midfield axis and chip in with his fair share of goals in tandem with ruud boy?
Not to worry tho as we can always farm him out as we did Bebe if we find out that Ladyboy is past it as is the general RoM consensus.
    @paco rabane,
never say never the wise ones say!

  65. Paco Rabane says:

I’ll say never! ;) Quote me on that. :)

  66. daemondada says:

Ok,I’ll make a mental note of that.

  67. smartalex says:

daemondada – kudos brother, great response!

Quite readable too, I must say.

    Cheers!

  68. King Eric says:

Ash – Noooooo mate. I think Hunterlaar is THE most over rated player about. He has been dogshit every time I have seen him play. Usually

  69. LUFCWhite says:

  77. smartalex says:

    tom c

We are all Reds basking in the sunlight! Thanks for appreciating appreciation.
We might start going round in circles at this rate! Ha Ha Ha ! ! !

Post more often, even when you just feel like saying “Come on United!” It feels good.
With regard to links, I occasionally express my views on what shouldn’t be linked, and how links are best presented that others may benefit. Despite my advise being patently unselfish, I am usually shot down for expressing it. It is true that there are no rules, but following some simple guide-lines is best for everyone.

    - Define the contents of the target, but don’t pre-deliver it’s punch-line.
    - Target reports of opinions from respected/known/hated individuals or groups, with “quotes”
    - Target the original news source or a reputable report of it. There are many sites that merely regurgitate all the news they read, whether it seems reputable or not.. They will write 10 reports in the identical manner, referencing scoops, sources and other media, and only 1 of the 10 will have any real content. If possible, find the original source or a reputable report of it.
    - If the point you intend to raise forms only part of the target piece, cut, edit and paste the relevant sections, but still link the source.
    - Sir Alex quotes should be brought in their entirety. We lap up his words, don’t leave any out!
    - There are other handy tips that I won’t go into now.

I read all the comments, while admittedly concentrating on the quality and skimming offenders of repeated drivel. I don’t follow all the links. If I’ve no idea where it’s taking me, I will only go there if the link contributor is well proven. Especially video links.

See you on another thread, brother!
