A day before our clash in London against Arsenal, Sir Alex Ferguson made sure he was in attendance of the 3pm game at Craven Cottage.
Fulham took on Aston Villa, who United are set to play in the League Cup final, and Gabriel Agbonlahor will have certainly grabbed our manager’s attention after scoring two goals.
We also play Villa in a couple of weeks time, when Rio Ferdinand will still be serving his ban. But Nemanja Vidic set to return this weekend against Arsenal, we should be alright defensively.

guess wot – Welbeck scores for Preston!
Fergie, sign him up.
Checking out villa and smalling…..
He should have checked out Smalling before signing him, to be fair. He’s a bit gash, yeah?
He’s a bit gash, yeah? Is that what you think, yeah?
Are you that Chelsea fan of SSN, yeah?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FE9fN_hN3mI
I’m Nathan Barley.
Oh. My apologies in that case.
I can’t believe Spurs are bottling it, more dropped points today. I’m still hoping they pip Citeh and the Dippers to 4th place but they seem to be waning.
We can only wait and see about Smalling, if Arsehole Bender and SAF were both after him he must be doing something right. Also remember he is going to be under the spotlight alot more now coz he has signed for us and that could be playing on his mind, so dont read to much into how he is playing right now wait until he is training with Rio, Vida, Evans and co.
Well done Welbeck lad, keep smashing them in!!
No worries, Fred.
Smalling has the vision and awareness of a blindfolded Stevie Wonder. Any chance Arsene put in a cheeky bid just to get us to spunk £7m on a non-league player for a laugh?
@ fred that is fucking funny lol , but also for saf , wenger and roy hodgeson to all speak so highly of smalling the boy must have something .
Fergie’s smiling as he’s just heard Welbeck scored for Preston Booooom! Fingers crossed that kid gets his goals and comes back a better player!
Fuck me. 10 games and people writing Smalling off. Pathetic quite frankly. Fergie clearly knows nish about young talent. Has this site been infiltrated by bitters and dippers today? Strange day on here.
Kudos to Wellbeck.
“He should have checked out Smalling before signing him, to be fair. He’s a bit gash, yeah?”
Err yeah. I am just sure that Fergie bought him on a whim without scouting him.
I take it no1 seen rio wen he was just twenty, but he didn’t turn out to bad.
just been on a preston forum, they have all been absolutly raving about welbecks goal!! hoping this is the start of big things for welbeck and fergie jnr
To be honest I could not give a solitary flying fuck how Chris Smalling plays
…..until he plays for us.
read carefully… too right!
Geesh!! People really do have their nickers on backwards today. I was meaning SAF was checking out his new signing while watching villa. Goodness me.
Who would’ve though. Burnley are losing to Chelsea.
Well, big game against arsenal – I don’t expect Chelsea now to drop too many point the rest of the season. Its going to be tough enough as it is now, but if we drop points tomorrow its pretty much season over.
Mahesh – we have ame against Chelsea at OT. If we win it will be 3-4 points difference. But. Here comes the tough part. Next 4 games we have to play Ars, Everton, Villa AWAY.
What is even worse, we have Milan game in between.
Exactly Corea – given our fixture list coming up, I would have been much more comfortable with US having a 4 point cushion where we could afford an odd slip up, leave alone us being 4 points down.
Mahesh – remember, last couple of seasons i remember us having to play good sides away after CL games. Usually we share points.
Chelsea are sooo boring, but so effective.
mahesh
The team that loses tomorrow can kiss goodbye to the title. A draw will be bad for both sides.
I expected Chelsea to struggle without Drogba but that hasnt happened. They will be even stronger now that he will be back.Anyways winning the league will be difficult but dropping points tomorrow will mostly be curtains as far as the title goes
Im not too worried about winning the league this season. Been saying all season that its a rebuilding season in many ways. Im happy with the way things ahve gone, and it looks good for next season. Chelsea are clicking well now, and I reckon might just do it this season. But next season we will be back to our best. But, then again its only January now, and we are MAN UTD…So, its not over yet…

Dimitar is 29 today. Happy birthday!
A hell of a long way to go yet. A decent Burnley could get summat out of the game but so far they have been shite. Fucking awful actually. Every cunt is always up for it against United but may as well bend over for the rentboy’s. Not over by a long chalk yet.
Rentboys aren’t clicking. They have been shit tonight.
CraigB – share your sentiments – if we do win the league this season it will be the pleasantest of surprises. It was always more about doing some settling down this season with losing Ronaldo, bringing or blooding a few players in to the team etc. Depending on how things go tomorrow, I would want us to focus more on the CL, because there I think we still have a decent shot with squad reaching full fitness and people hitting some decent form as well. However, I must say that it still looks like SAF wants a big signing or two to really round off this team for next season, and I would have hoped we made those signings asap so as to really have them ready for next season.
“Rentboys aren’t clicking. They have been shit tonight.”
that is the worrying thing, mate. they take 3 points.
Mahesh – Kaka please!
mahesh
i think there is better chance of us winning the league than the Champions League. There are many teams who are better than us in the champions league.Think SAF will play a full strength team in the carling cup final and ensure we win it.
burnley just scored.
Come on Burnley
fuck yeah – come on Burnley!!! 1-1!!
Burnley scored. 1-1. However i still think those chelsea bastards will win it
Fletcher football genius! )))
And a very good goal indeed.
haha
Terry the cunt is getting slaughtered every time he gets the ball. Think this will be the scene whenever he plays away from home from now on
aig alex is god – hi pal. i’ve heard he is risking WC ))
@ corea
There’s only 1 Fletcherinho
corea
hi mate. yeah. i read it too that he could be axed from the team altogether although i dont think that will happen. Wont be surprised if he is stripped of captaincy but then rio and stevie me who will be favourites after him for the armband arent saints either, are they?
Capello will have the final say though. First really big decision he will have to make in his tenure as the england coach
What a shame if Tiny Tears fooks up his World Cup dreams. Is Terrry the reason why Cappello has banned the WAGs from attending the tournament? Just in case he slimes onto anymore of the players partners.
Chris Eagles really is doing well. Shame we sold him. Could have been handy this season.Good to see him playing regularly and playing well
was going to post some time back but i knew tiny tears would score today.he always does it when his backs are against the wall
fuck this.
well chelsea will get 3 points after all
and by the way, this talk of ‘that is way to answer your critics’ (BBC) is bollocks – he being criticized not for his football, but for his personal moral compass being next to non-existant. That criticism stands as valid even if he scores a fucking hat-trick.
and this goal may even keep that cheating skunk as captain…
I wonder what kind of team spirit a tea with terry as captain will have in the wc…
@ aig
it was nailed that he would score. Ingurland Lion heart an all that bollocks
Mahesh…
spot on mate…terry cannot be a good leader, he is spineless…and cant really call for respect after his antics…but not sure capello will strip him off the arm band…
For the cunt that he is with his off the field antics and bollox talking most of the times i feel he is a leader on the pitch. That certainly cannot be denied
They’ll be having a circle jerk over this tomorrow
“Terry comes out fighting”… zzzz.
who is saying league is over if we lose 2m? sorry can’t agree with that – there is long way to go and many more important games to come for all teams
I wonder how costly that defeat at Burnley could turn out to be for us. Of course Chelsea didn’t face Burnley at the time we did, or it might have been a different outcome. Anyway, we have to get at least a point tomorrow.
Very disappointed with Burnley. Had their level of performance been at 50% of the one at OT they would have gotten something from the match. Chelsea were utterly crap.
Not that I care too much, but the cheating whore (on and off the pitch) should not only be stripped of the England captaincy, but banned from the squad altogether. The cunts at FA would not hesitate to act if the player in question had been a United player.
tony starks
i hope what you are saying is true but god forbid if we lose tomorrow it will be our 6th defeat of the season and imo the end of our title challenge.Chelsea will beat Hull on Wednesday and make the gap 7 points.I know they have to come to Old Trafford but i cant see this United team going unbeaten for the remaining part of the season. Add to it the fact that we have got 3 away games out of our next 4 in the league and that too at Villa and Everton. Also, rio is out for all those away games.tricky away fixtures of both United and chelsea level themselves
United have to travel to emirates, man city, villa and everton
Chelsea travel to Liverpool,United, spurs and everton
@Costas
I actually think that we need to win. If rent boys go 6 points clear (by winning the match in hand) it would be difficult to catch them, especially as teams are folding in front of them.
Costas
hi. exactly. United cant afford to lose tomorrow because Arsenal will get momentum as well ahead of their crucial run of games coming up. I thought we played well at Burnley but missed loads of chances. We were better than what Chelsea were today but they took their chances, we squandered ours.
My dad went to see Preston VS Ipswich today because my cousin is the goalkeeper for Ipswich, he said he spoke to Danny Welbeck after the match, told him it was a nice goal, shame it was againt my nephew. Danny said he was sorry haha.
Off topic:
The papers are hopefully gonna slaughter Terry tomorrow….. he got an injunction v the press as they wanted to print about him fucking Bridges ex….the press fought it and got it overturned…. No mercy ……they will have had had the story ready and the extra week will give then time to re-write all the other stuff about him and his chavvy family, the lowlife scumbags…
fancy shagging a so-called mates ex-missus ….Judas bastard.
The FA will blame her though stating that she (being French) sought to undermine Captain Bulldog and seduced him whilst he was only concerned with doing his bit for Engerlund.
Hope they take the armband of him the scabby lowlife fuckpig.
@ Tonybee
wishful thinking I reckon, Terry is the teflon kid nothing sticks to him for any sustainable time.
The usual old shit will be dragged out and then it will all be about the french piece of fluff who tempted this great man into carnal knowledge.
Oliver holt was already defending him this morning in the mirror
Not particularly worried about the Chav cunts on that performance and a few others I have seen, well most in fact. They are probably peaking now and injuries and tiredness WILL set in. They have played most games the likes of Lampard, Terrycunt, Kalou, Ballack etc. They may well drop points at Hull. Hell of a way to go yet. United hopefully have nowhere near peaked and are getting out of second gear now with players coming back all the time and hitting peak fitness. They will be well up for tomorrow and I would be ok with a point but want a win. We need to come straight out the traps tomorrow.
As someone else has said Burnley for the most part were poor tonight and a half decent side could have won that game. Just a shame every team treats United as their Cup Final and bend over for the likes of the Rentboys, Arsenal, Dippers .
I am not confident has others are starting to feel, uniteds inabilit to win the big games could be a deciding factor add the fact uniteds fire power is still not strong enough for a club has big as united maybe a real problem again tommorow.
Of course United’s firepower is enough. Rooney is the equivalent of 3 men up top. We will go 4-5-1 tomorrow I am convinced and Wazza has started to nail this role in recent weeks. We just need a couple of the midfielders to get forward every opportunity like Wednesday.
@ King Eric
it would be nice if all teams put in the same effort week in week out as they do when they play us, to paraphrase Keano in his book “if you played like that every other week you wouldn’t be a mid table club”
if it was easy to win a league there would be no satisfaction. The satisfaction is greater for Manchester United players and the fans because it is always an uphill struggle to succeed whether the hurdle be the the fa , the abu media or even the bloodsucking glazers
our history makes us strong
your hate makes us stronger
JandSdad – Spot on . Keano was exactly right. The thing is teams just cannot sustain that kind of form week after week or else they would be Champions. Give their all against us then struggle for a few games due to being fucked. Just look at Leeds, Sunderland and Villa as examples. Funniest thing is I am wearing exactly that t-shirt now. Our history makes us strong, your hate makes us stronger. Weird.
King Eric – I am a traditionalist I prefure 2 strikers who are both in form and on fire, the great sides of united have had 3 to 4 even 5 players in attack on form for me we need atleast 3 in form players in attack we only have 1. I am not having 1 in form and 2 can continue to except mediocrity. well I can give owen the benifit of the doubt but berbatov I am not having it I expect much more.
- I am not calling united a 1 man attacking team but we have laughed at liverpool when their only attacking threat was gerrard, even if some deny it we will be labelled that because rooney is the only player in double figures 2 times over.
Doing a bit of scouting never hurt anyone, Fergie doing his homework on Villa!
In all honesty the Villa final game is less important to me than the Citeh semi-final, if we lose the final I’ll be disappointed but if we had lost to Citeh I’d have been devasted!
irst of all, im sickened by the person (who was my friend) that has came on to this blog pretending to be me, first of all you can see that the user name had an underslash between it eg ” ulster_red” lads i use the username ULSTER RED im so sorry to GHTT for this serious misunderstanding, the poster that used my name was MUMMY85 and scott the red can hopefully put my user name to good credit… lads i have not said the things that “ulster_red” has, he is a so called mate of mine wanting to unearth stupidthings of the past, my love is MANCHESTER UNITED, you only have to look at my previous posts to how much i love this great club…i only hope scott confirms that post was not from ULSTER RED but from a scumbag called ULSTER_RED…..
by the way
please see the john terry thread, lads im not like that
King Eric – I am not bashing the squad its just an insurance policy I like strength in depth in attack just incase we pick up an injury we know someone else can carry the ball.
king eric
hi mate. good that you are optimistic about todays game. i am not.
last 3 times i was very optimistic was Liverpool at home last season, Liverpool away this season, Leeds home this season. In all those games we got embarassed so i have decided not to get carried away by wins against the lesser sides. United have a habit of disappointing when you feel really positive especially in big games
Hey what’s with the pessimism guys?!
If we lose tomorrow, we lose the league? WTF? I seriously hope (and know) Fergie isn’t going to be thinking like that. I don’t think we should either.
Don’t think we will lose, and even if we do, Arsenal’s games in the coming weeks are Us, Chelsea, Liverpool. They are definitely going to drop points, as are Chelski. I think the only must win game we have is Chelsea at home, coz if we win that, we go top, and the winning mentality that Fergie has instilled in this team will ensure that we don’t let go of that till the end of the season.
Keep the hope alive guys.
