Fergie: Becks Couldn’t Have Played Against Us

Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed he wasn’t concerned about the potential of facing David Beckham this weekend, after our former player joined the London club for training.

“I didn’t expect David Beckham to be playing on Sunday,” said Ferguson. “You cannot all of a sudden come in to train for a few days and expect to play in the Premier League, even less so against Manchester United.”

He’ll be better used as an impact sub for Spurs at his age, I reckon!

  2. Tom Addison says:

    Or a publicity stunt…….

  3. bruce thomas says:

It’s only a PR ploy to try and help Spuds get hold of the new Olympic stadium once Wet Sham are relegated.

  5. Gorse Hill Red says:

Poor Beckham, it would have worked wonders for his PR and the media circus if he managed to play against us. Oh well, never mind Becks I’m sure you will find some other tool to enhance your image.

  6. King Eric says:

bruce – hhmm good point fella. Bet you a quid lads even though Becks won’t feature all the build up will be about him.

  7. Jeet says:

BTW, seeing a lot of gossip about Inter and Chelsea being the frontrunners for Sanchez, apparently, they want to cut us off and of course we have helped with our customary slow approach…does anybody have any news?

  8. BloodRed says:

Hopefully he’s a distraction to Spurs’ preparations for the game >=D lol

  9. Red Simmo says:

    Blood Red

So its not just me then who cant do these smiley faces?

  10. parryheid says:

Sir alex didn’t seem to have any problem like that when he threw the cripple that is Hargreaves on twice and most irritatingly slings a quality dead ball expert, great passing and corner taker out the club and by the way was there a transfer fee for Eikrem something weird going on there.Anyway I am disappointed Becks wont play against us it would have simplified the job on Sunday.

  11. MyCowIsTheBest says:

i am not impressed at all.

The reasons for Spurs to sign him :

    1) sell more shirt
    2) make the club more popular using brand Beckham

repeat no1 and 2 until you are bored..

  12. wayne says:

i’m sick of beckhams return already and he hasn’t even kicked a ball yet, hope he doesn’t sign don’t need beckham stories everyday for the next 2 months.

  13. AlphaRS says:

Beckham trying to keep his brand alive in he UK and therefore the rear of the world through the EPL.
His ailing football career is on it’s last legs I’m afraid.

  14. AlphaRS says:

    @Wayne
Wait for the daily commentary on his kid from his missus.
I remember now why I got sick of him and his celebrity status and the media circus that constantly followed him around everywhere. I’ve had enough already.

  15. Mark says:

If he’s still a Red, he could help us by putting a few tough challenges in on the training field at Spurs today. VDV and Bale especially (if they’re fit)!

  16. willierednut says:

The saga continues. The point about the Olympic stadium was already made by Karen Brady, It’s nothing new lads.

  17. kanchelskis says:

    parryheid

Wouldn’t worry about Eikrem. We’ve got a buy-back clause, so if he really comes good, we’ll take him back no problem.

  18. Costas says:

We have a cripple in the squad? Wow. The things you learn at this website. Stay classy.

  19. willierednut says:

    Agent Beckham lol.

  20. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Let yourself down there parryheid calling Hargreaves a cripple. Its frustrating seeing a truly world class player sitting on the sidelines but he’s till one of ours. If we can get him fit I don’t see why we can’t treat him like Spurs do Ledley King. Probably going to get slated for that comment but fuck it why not.

  21. wayne says:

after investing all this time and money in hargo, if there’s any chance of him playing again utd should sign him. even if its pay for play or a bonus clause plays x amount of games.it would be really fucked up to let him walk away and a year from now he’s playing for one of our rivals

  22. BelfastRed says:

Off topic anybody heard anything about Putrucci? Is he injured or been playing for the reserves etc.Been hoping he would break through but has gone off the radar instead.Big things were expected could be the play maker we’ve been craving.

  23. King Eric says:

Yeah I though the term “cripple” was a bit shit. The lad has worked his nuts off for 2 and a half years to play. Mind you he is getting paid fucking handsomely.

Please can someone enlighten me as to the upset and sheer anger almost at the sale of Eikrem? He is a good player yes but for the fiftieth time he is a skinny fucking cocktail stick and NOT built for the Premier league. The lad is 22 or summat so had plenty of time to develop. I am boring myself now when I say just look at Tunnicliffe and Pogba at 17. No great loss. In addition he is injured a hell of a lot.

  24. parryheid says:

Yes we do have a cripple in the squad Yeah and staying classy.Better still how would you describe him or are you one of those guys who don’t realise Two parties stiffed United when this transfer went through.Giruy my friend.

  25. Costas says:

Well he is not a cripple since he can still walk is he? Look up the word next time.

  26. smartalex says:

    Was Solskjaer a cripple?

  27. Costas says:

Blomqvist too smartalex. And they tricked the 5 year United coaching stuff and medical team into keeping them in the team.

  28. wayne says:

don’t think utd got stiffed,we have medical staff aswell, talked about this before should have had the operation when hargo first signed.he wanted to prove himself so played and utd gave him injections and let him.thats the reason the injury became so serious everyone is to blame here.

  29. willierednut says:

BelfastRed – Last I heard about Petrucci, the lad was ravaged by injuries. I do remember people saying, he’s the new Totti. I don’t get to watch the reserves, or the youth team that much anymore. Maybe someone else could give you a better answer.

  30. Costas says:

    @wayne

Pretty much, yeah. He helped out a lot in that first season playing through pain, but I don’t know if it was worth it at the end of the day. He missed out on the next 3.

  31. wayne says:

@Costas wasn’t worth it ruined his career,it was obviously getting worse as the season progressed, both the player and club are at fault.all i know its a fucking shame and i’m still hoping he comes through it.

  32. smartalex says:

Injuries are so frustrating for everyone; fan, manager and player. Just before each game
I pray for – no injuries, no cards, clean sheet, goal, more goals. In that order.
Defeat or a red card is not as bad as a serious injury.

When Ole returned and scored, years of frustration and sadness were emotionally relieved
but not redeemed. I never lost faith in Ole, and I believe in Hargo.

  33. parryheid says:

    King Eric.

He’s Twenty buddy and at his presentation at Molde he looks bigger and broader than both other players there plus his manager. Are you sure King it’s the same player we are talking about .I watched the reserves last night Paddy was surprised we allowed him to go and they did a montage showing his ability and during that Eikrem was quite a bit bigger than most of the players shown in fact he was shown with tunnicliffe whom you said is built like a brick shithouse and there looked max couple of inches between them possibly camera angle who knows but what was not in doubt was the class shown by him.Sorry if the more delicate among you squirm at the word cripple maybe I should have said chancer. The reason a goodly number of people are angry is because like me they see a gem disappearing over the horizon and buyback clause or not we have invested heavily in him.For what fee Two balloons and a birler.

  34. parryheid says:

Surely to christ I don’.t have to tell you the difference between an injury and a condition Costas go fuck yourself you twat,go and look it up.

  35. smartalex says:

It seems clear that between Sir Alex and Ole they feel that Eikram would be best served as
a Molde player. Should he reach a point where he fits into and adds to our team he will return.
    Bit like Ole really.

  36. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Since Petrucci is ravaged by injuries why don’t we fuck him off before a Blomqvist part III and Hargreaves part II. Of course I’m not being serious here. If Hargreaves had been playing in England prior to his transfer to us I would criticise his wage packet as it is he pushed for a transfer when in the past Bayern had offers but he didn’t want to go (long before United came in for him). Give him an Owen type deal if he proves his fitness towards the end of the season but still get a replacement. Make sure the deal is one year because after all we paid an awful lot of money for him. As for our medical team their diagnosis on most of our players injuries has been shoddy to say the least. Either that or the club is purposely bringing out the stories but even I don’t believe the latter.

  37. FletchTHEMAN says:

On Hargreaves, Class player. We should resign him. He will be a Giggs/Solskeijer like disposition in the years after we have lost those players. We probably could put him on an Mickie Owen like contract that keeps the incentive to win back his place. Don’t see we need him every game, but if we could get him to back to the contributions that Giggs and Ole are/were, it would be very good for the squad. Also, our commitment to injured guys is nothing short of class.

@King Eric Agree about Eikrem. Heard we had a buy back clause so this is like a loan. This is a bit of gift to Ole, but I’ll bet Ole and SAF talked about how to develop the guy. Not many loan deals with a view that he might get a game in Europe so this could be really good. Also, While Eikrem is surely a great talent, there is no sign that he is the next Rooney/Ronaldo or even the next Nani. He maybe not even the next Gibson. So we should just see how he develops. Molde have shown some class with their dealings, I think this will be fine if we want him back.

Lots of lads going on loan. Bit sat to see Corry off, probably won’t be back.

  38. willierednut says:

I think Hargreaves will be released in the summer, as I hope United will buy another CM.

  39. parryheid says:

My point was not about Hargreaves he was just incidental to what I was saying.,however now it has suddenly become the topic rather than answering my main point here goes. All you guys who are waiting for a Hargreaves return I say he will never play Ninety minutes for United again and I’ll go down to the bottom of my garden and wait for a space ship. You wait for Hargreaves return to football I am positive my spaceship will come first.

  40. Costas says:

parryheid, your post confirmed to me why I should take a physical cripple over a mental one any day. Go join Blue Moon you spastic moron. That’s where comments like yours belong.

  41. willierednut says:

Say hello to David Ike and Micheal Knighton.

  42. Costas says:

    cripple (krpl)
    n.
    1. A person or animal that is partially disabled or unable to use a limb or limbs

    Yep, that’s Hargo alright…

  43. willierednut says:

Tempers fraying on RoM. Listen to the voice of reason and just ignore each other.

  44. parryheid says:

    Costas.

Like I said go Fuck yourself you self satisfied Supercillious cunt.

  45. Costas says:

That hurt. parryheid told me to fuck off. You know, it’d mean something if it didn’t come from someone who’s only tough behind a keyboard. I’d like to see you go call Hargreaves’ a cripple to his face. He would kick the shit out of you with his crippled legs. Lol.

  46. smartalex says:

Any cunt that could fuck itself would be self satisfied.
Then, when I’m finished on RoM, I’d take over.

  47. Costas says:

    @willierednut

Don’t get in the way. I am dumbing myself down to deal with him. Don’t want you infected too.

  48. parryheid says:

When I make A point about Becks and throw in Eikrem King Eric responded to that post and I responded to his as is the whole being of this site,Any body dispute my view fine but if any arsehole wants the opportunity to snipe at me then bring it on.One thing’s for sure I aint sitting here whiteying it.

  49. Costas says:

Since I am shitting all over you, I guess I am an arsehole.

And don’t pretend you didn’t do anything wrong. You used a thread about Beckham to (once again) spew your venom against Hargreaves. And if you thought that was going to go unanswered, you are even stupider than you sound.

  50. Costas says:

Remember. I didn’t make it personal. Unless you feel calling United players “cripples” is classy.

  51. smartalex says:

‘Ello, I wish to register a complaint. ‘Ello, Miss? I wish to complain about this winger what
we purchased not long ago from this very country.

“Oh yes, the, uh, the Norwegian Blue…What’s,uh…What’s wrong with it?”

“I’ll tell you what’s wrong with it, my lad. ‘E’s dead, that’s what’s wrong with it!”

“No no he’s not dead, he’s, he’s restin’! Remarkable bird, the Magnus Eikrem, idn’it, ay?
    Beautiful plumage!”

“That player is definitely deceased, and when I purchased it not long ago, you assured
me that its total lack of playing was due to it bein’ tired and shagged out following a
    prolonged squawk.”

    “Well, he’s…he’s, ah…probably pining for the fjords…”

  52. parryheid says:

Why do you always attempt to draw support in from your acolytes and what do you mean by keyboard tough? You really are going to have me crapping myself your reference to what somebody might or might do should I say to their face is ridiculous a bit like yourself and please dont try to justify yourself to your supporters by pulling the that’s not right card like I said Giruy .Ha

  53. parryheid says:

    Not so SmartAlex

    Acolyte=Bumboy=Costas

  54. Costas says:

See, that’s the thing. I don’t need to justify myself about anything. I don’t take shots at United players. You want to act all tough and do it? Then face the music.

And how exactly did I draw support from anyone? If anyone else here is having an issue with you, it’s because your comment was full of shit. Kind of like you brain.

  55. parryheid says:

Losing it Losing it Lost it.Ha call in some more Acolyte’s

  56. Costas says:

Don’t need any acolytes. All I need is you. You are embarassing yourself.

So tell me about Ronny Johnsen now. He was quite a cripple himself wasn’t he?

  57. parryheid says:

Look dummy as I have previously posted do I have to explain the difference between an injury and condition or an illness.Broken leg and the likes Injury. Gout Tendonitus.Condition. Cancer.Ilness.Can you really not tell the difference So what does Ronny Johnson have to do with anything ask yourself what category he fall under it’s not hard Maybe you should stick to answering the posts made not the posts imagined.

    Costas says:

    cripple (krpl)
    n.
    1. A person or animal that is partially disabled or unable to use a limb or limbs

Looks like I have to repeat myself. You called Hargreaves a cripple and I proved he isn’t since he doesn’t fit the definition. My “acolytes” did the same by the way. Don’t try to talk around the subject. You embarassed yourself.

Johnsen was brought up because he is someone who missed a lot of time due to injuries. Like Hargreaves. Cripple per your mindset…

  59. Zibbie says:

Oh man came on late and must go. I see “parryheid says” is getting the wrath of the regulars.
The Becks thing he was leaving as I became a Man Utd fan, I get so sick of his media mogul shit………..
GLORY GLORY MAN UTD!!!!!!! KICK THE SPURS ASS!!!!!!!! GO ROONEY!!!!!!!!!!!

  60. King Eric says:

parryheid – Yeah mate DEFINITELY talking about the same player. Ok I was wrong, he is 20 but he is very weak. Tunnicliffe is a bruiser mate, a young Keano. Up for a scrap, lets NOBODY outdo him in the middle and scores goals. Don’t get me wrong Eikrem is technically excellent but obviously Fergie thinks he aint a United player ………………yet at least.

  61. smartalex says:

You talkin’ to me? You talkin’ to me? You talkin’ to me? Then who the hell else are you talking… you talking to me? Well I’m the only one here. Who the fuck do you think you’re talking to? Oh yeah? OK.

Aparryheid: Sorry to hear about your ecoli condition, must feel lame.

Did anyone see the hilariously funny Python rip-off posted by… well, some smartalec.

  62. King Eric says:

By the way mate I don’t mean height wise I mean body mass. Tunnicliffe is fucking huge but doesnt get the praise Eikrem gets. He is absolute quality in my opinion mate. A forward running midfielder. Creates alot as well with terrific long balls and through balls. Eikrem did to be fair.

  63. Costas says:

    @smartalex

Can’t make any compliments your way. It would give away the fact that you are my acolyte. ;)

  64. willierednut says:

Anyone suggesting, I’m likely to be an acolyte, obviously don’t know me. Be that as it may, there’s no point getting personal. That is the road to ruin and no one gets any benefit out of it.

  65. FletchTHEMAN says:

King Eric, Heard alot of good stuff about Tunnicliffe. Still on schoolboy terms? The redyouth site says he doesn’t have a professional contract.

I don’t follow the Academy as close as I might. Any reviews on this keeper Sam Johnstone? 18yrs 6’4″, 2 U19 caps, sounds interesting….

Other news. DeLait is also off on loan. Portsmouth till the end of the season. Good move.

  66. parryheid says:

Got you now your the name taker from yonks ago I said was a bit Stasi like.Been waiting a long time eh.It was one of your previous posts today dinged in my memory now I understand the sniping.Anyway you have not answered the category Johnson falls into and when you do you may get the point that Hargreaves came to United with a condition which is incurable and is not like a headache which pops up overnight you have it long time before it debilitates you but you know about it.If you and others want to convince yourself otherwise then your choice. Not mine so don’t try and snipe at me because my view differs and you don’t like facing it.But if you fancy trading insults all night and beyond be my guest you’ll find me a willing participant.

  67. smartalex says:

    Costas and parryheid
You get my back up. Each in your own way.

Anyway, it’s all Greek for me.

If an acolyte says “Fuck You!” isn’t he an acoheavy?

  68. parryheid says:

    king Eric.

Got you and I do watch him playing reserves you are obviously as big a fan him as i of Eikrem and if Tunnicliffe progresses to your expectations yet gets shipped out of the club not on loan but gone and has been on the bench yet goes without any first team playtime and somebody you consider a waste of rations did I’m prepared to bet you’d howl about much like me.Peace mate.

  69. Costas says:

And how do you know that he came to the club with that condition Dr wise guy? Where are your facts? And even if he did, that doesn’t change the fact that the club could have stopped the transfer. We have a medical team don’t we? We took our chances with Owen, had him playing with injections and it backfired. You prefer to single out the player and trash him. I say it’s a load of crap. And we’ve been going back and forth for hours and you STILL haven’t justified why he is a cripple. His supposed “condition”? He would have been on a wheelchair..

The Stazi comment was another piece of genius on your behalf. Thanks for reminding me. I always forgot who was the guy that brought so much joy and laughter in my life.

  70. parryheid says:

    SmartAlex.

Could well be,I really do appreciate humour

  71. willierednut says:

Ironside was a cripple. He hated people pushing him around.

  72. Ulster Red says:

every now and then we have a day like this on ROM 2 people going at eacother for a few hours…at the end of the day the people argueing have the most important thing in common in being united fans, lets keep the anger for the rest of the league….one love fellas.

  73. parryheid says:

Well i’m not a wise guy but I was dux of Gorgie special school. No definite knowledge Logic and suspicion and the club if it had knowledge most definately would have stopped it I would say the club would have checking the recovery of his leg break not looking for something that doesn’t show up on scans and give it time and you will see him in a wheelchair if that’s your bent. The Owen comparison is a nonsense (see injury not condition)Now I didn’t know why your so concerned about a view I put forward at the time but now I do.and may I say I am delighted to have brought so much joy and laughter into your life.it’s on me.

  74. smartalex says:

When Irish eyes are smiling, sure it’s like a morning Spring
In the lilt of Irish laughter, you can hear the devils sing
When United hearts are happy, all the world seems bright today
And when Sir Alex’ eyes are smiling, sure they steal your heart away

  75. Costas says:

Still that doesn’t make him a cripple, but keep dodging the question. Didn’t bring up Michael Owen for your information. I mentioned Hargreaves by his first name. Believe it or not, sometimes UNited fans call their players by their first names instead of cripples.

I will give it to you that you amuse me. Clowns always tend to do that. But don’t accuse me of any bias. I didn’t use a thread about Beckham to spill my garbage. That was your doing. I don’t even remember why you said I was part of the Stazi. What did I do then? Did I spy ROM and report to Hargo about who trashed him?

  76. Costas says:

    @Ulster

Appreciate what you are saying mate, but it’s not enough. There’s a difference in what each one of us perceives to be a United fan.

  77. Ulster Red says:

    costas
no problem mate, had my fair share of arguements a while ago on this and it gets you no-where lol

  78. willierednut says:

Ulster Red – I remember that, you were gonna take someones heed off lol.

  79. Ulster Red says:

    willie
i know i was stupid and funny enough im now friends with that person on facebook and we talk now and then lol…did you see norn iron are allowed 200 fans fro the match in serbia lol, no serbs just us.

  80. willierednut says:

Ulster Red – I seen it on the news mate. So yous two are best mates on facebook, who would’ve thought that, eh? lol.

  81. Costas says:

    @Ulster

I know mate. I’ve had my fair share too, lol.

  82. Ulster Red says:

    costas
might be ingnorant here but i dont think ive seen as heated as this with you involved, your too calm for this.
    willie
yea we both apologised and that was it, your right a few months ago if you had of said that id have called you mad lol.

  83. smartalex says:

When city or ‘pool fans come on RoM and debate, we debate.
When they call our player’s rude names, we debate and we tell them to FUCK OFF!

When it’s our own fans / RoMmers doing it it is very upsetting.
Nearly every day a regular will cross that line.
If I ever do, berate me, chastise me and teach me!

  84. Costas says:

    @Ulster

You think. I have a temper too, I have you know. More on it on FB. ;)

    @smartalex

I like your post, but I couldn’t berate you even if you did that.. Your posts make me laugh. :)

  85. NotoriousRedDevil says:

    @ willierednut says:
Ironside was a cripple. He hated people pushing him around.

Fucking classic. Had me on the floor that.

  86. Ulster Red says:

well said smartalex – one love boyo

you should see my fb after a bad day lol

  87. willierednut says:

NRD – I had to try and lighten the mood mate lol.

  88. Ulster Red says:

*you should see my fb after a bad day lol* – was for costas

  89. parryheid says:

I did assume you had brought M Owen into the debate.I said I was disappointed Becks wasn’t playing Sunday as it would be an advantage to United. But SAF in relation to the heading of Scotts article wouldn’t have any problems considering the Eikrem situation. So you can forget the smoke and mirrors and you can pretend not to know the difference between injury and condition Keep on wriggling and there’s no room on the spaceship for you.

  90. smartalex says:

Well Costas the humour that runs through RoM is hilarious. It’s a bit like a TV show where the better you get to know the posters style the funnier it gets.

Of course, it’s easy laugh when you’re top of the league in January.

  91. Costas says:

Nah, I think I am bored now. As I told willie, I lowered my standards to respond to you long enough. I made my point, you talked out of your ass some more and we are good. Keep it up. I am proud of you.

  92. Costas says:

    @smartalex

It depends. This place has given me quite a few laughs even during hard times. Like last season when we began the “Sell Berbatov, buy Heskey” stuff.

  93. smartalex says:

Costas. Of course. This is why a funny joke about Hargo’s injury is a better way to reference his situation. I’m sure that he gets plenty of stick from the other players. No harm done, laughs are better than apples.

    Sell crutches, buy boots.

  94. Dave Malaysia says:

Respect for Hargreaves, contributed to our success in 2008.

For having the courage to fight to return to his career, with us. It must be hell for him ,and I hope he makes it back into the squad this month.

Petrucci is a huge talent and like many youngsters before him ,he had some injuries but he is backwith the team now and doing well. At some point he will be over all that and will have a consistent run. Then les see how good he can become.

Becks is there cos of Harry sees him having some positive impact on his team, maybe, signing anyone is the same, always a risk attached. Good he is not playing against us.
Bet he will be in ths stands or somewhere visible and the camera will focus on him as often as possible.
