Gooner here but always like reading ur blog. Just wanna say Genre Kellys just full of bravado & im sure most gooners dont feel the same, believe me i would much rather face porto than U for a place in the final as we did ok against them in the group stages & would have felt comfortable about getting through (havin said that maybe u would have preffered villareal?). Games amongst the english big 4 can always go either way, home & away nothing can be taken for granted as witnessed in Chavs V Scousers. I would make it 55% – 45% in your favour as you are reigning champs & def have the edge with the extra experience in your squad. However we are hitting some good form & with the return of our key players looking fresh it should be some tie.
In my eyes to lose in the semi is far worse than being beat in the final & i have 2 say that these are really the sort of matches that fill me with both dread & excitement in equal measures!
Hope its 2 great games & well obviously youth prevail! But much respect to SAF your great team whatever the outcome.

Too close to call. A lot can happen before those CL semi final games. I’m happy Arsenal ManU and Chelsea made it to the last4. That’s a massive achievement. It could well be an all-English final. But I would still put money on Chelski. I know they’ve been letting in some shit goals but Arse are getting f’d with injuries right now and I wouldn’t trust Easter Island Head to not F up two games in a row. And I hate to say it but Drogba looks like he cares again and can be a force when he’s in the mood. And Essien is more than capable of man marking Cesc out of the game. So yeah, it’ll be interesting.

Ronaldo’s shot hit the side of the netting, and considering he was at a fairly central position, its was one hell of a strike. The ball was dipping as well if you look at the replays. Maybe some keepers might have been able to stop it on their days, but its is definitely a 99% good shot from Ronaldo and 1% poor keeper positioning.
Genre, if your mum could have saved that shot, I suggest you try to convince Arsenal to take her up, she’d probably be able to hold down ur no.1 slot easily

Bravado and childish abuse is fine in a way and can be quite amusing, but I’d advise United fans not to go down that road. Arsenal are a terrific team and although on their day United can beat anyone, this is going to be very tough, so tough it’s pointless to predict or brag up the outcome, especially as United have played more games, more of which have been under pressure, while Arsenal have been quietly ‘under the radar’. I’m hoping it will be hard for their kids to be suddenly in the kind of spotlight United have to cope with all the time.One thing though, I hope it will be a masterclass of the footballing arts that shows why the Premiership is the best league in the world (3 semi-finalists , again). I still think the Gunners’ victory over us in November was one of games of the season. United were unlucky to lose it, but Arsenal were good, no question. I also hope the nasty side of Wenger’s teams, little scrutinised by the media because they are generally a true ‘footballing’ side, doesn’t come to the fore. By that I mean the behaviour he never sees, the amazing number of red card offences which will always stain his record as a truly great manager, too frequent to be put down as bad luck or poor refereeing.
