Fergie: Edwin Almost Changed His Mind Last Week

In the programme notes for tomorrow’s game against Blackpool, Sir Alex Ferguson claims that Edwin Van der Sar came to speak to him last night about the possibility of changing his mind on retirement.

“Edwin decided he wants to go out at the top, though he did have a wobble last week,” said Ferguson. “He came to see me and told me he was thinking about changing his mind. I had to tell him to be quick about it because we are in the middle of concluding a deal for a new keeper. He came back a couple of days later to say he would be sticking with his original decision to go, which I think at his age is the right thing for him to do.”

Long and healthy retirement for you and Mrs VDS – All the Best and Tot ziejns

  5. brett1985 says:

I’ll be very disappointed if Edwin retires. He owes us nothing but he’s a great keeper and knowing how hard it is to find good keepers then i would have said pull out all the stops to encourage him to continue.

  6. manutdisadream says:

You are realy up there as one of the greatest keepers of all time VDS. A shame we signed you so late. But what a fantastic player you have been for us. Good luck in the future, have a good life and take care of your family!
Rap it all up with keeping the net clean in the final will you? 19times and thats a fact!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Fred says:

LOL maybe Fergie put him off. “Och, make your bloody mind up you daft bugger!”

The cheek – a 70 year old going strong telling a 40 year old going strong that its better for him to go out at the top. SAF, naughty naughty.

  11. willierednut says:

Thanks for everything Edwin and welcome David De Gea? I presume, that’s who Fergie’s taking about? Anyway, from the cradle to the grave……

  12. Warwick says:

I wanted curly hair too! Goodbye Owen

  13. dean says:

What a legend Edwin has been for United! He will be dearly missed…irreplaceable!!!! Also GUTTTTTTTTTED about Hargreaves! Its such a pity..what a talent he was! Will miss him too + hope he can get his career back on track elsewhere.

  14. oneloveoneunited says:

Such a fantastic professional and will be sad to see him go tomorrow.

    Two more clean sheets please.

    19

  15. Fred says:

Wow, so long Owen Hargreaves. Another of the heroes of 2008 leaving us after Ronaldo, Tevez, Van der Sar and presumably Wes Brown too. I always liked Hargreaves and never lost sympathy for the guy with all of his incredibly unfortunate and frustrating injury problems. All the best to Owen.

  16. BEAST says:

Fantastic keeper, I really love him and everything he’s done for our club. You will never be forgotten, and you’ll stand along with great Dane in our hearts Edwin!

  17. Fred says:

We might even be adding Scholsey to that list, but from what the boss and Gary Neville said recently, it sounds like the Ginger Prince will play for one more season. Fitting too. I’d hate for the red card against City to be one of the abiding memories people have of him.

  18. Rai says:

VDS is a fuckin legend. What a too bloke and player. All the best big man

I Feel Like Crying Every Time I Imagine Edwin’s Retirement Goodbye Wave He’ll Inevitably Give the supporters. :(

The Man is a great footballer & human being , spent 2 decades as a player, didnt deteriate but retired to look after his ill wife…great man & Will always be the Greatest United Keeper to me .

I hope he gets the greatest match of his career against blackpool & barca & Leaves with The Double In his Back Pocket. :)

De Gea has big shoes to fill.

Bye Owen Hargreaves – Always be remembered for his 1st season of commitment & drive and the beautiful free kick he scored against arsenal & fulham.

Hope he can resurect his career & get a england call up.

This time of the season is the best & the worst.

pro; The trophies, The celebration, the happiness 19 leagues 4 euro cups
cons : Red Nev gone, Edwin retiring, potential scholes departure :(

    FOREVER UNITED

  20. Costas says:

This was bound to happen. Edwin must have been tempted to reconsider after his displays this season. But he made the right decision imo. As much as we will miss him, he will definitely go out on top. Cant ask for anything more.

As for Hargo, sad news indeed, but not unexpected. The lad did his best, but it wasn’t on the cards. I am glad the club honoured the contract to the end, but there’s nothing more they can do. I just hope Owen can resurrect his career elsewhere. Right now my main worry is that he will be forced to retire.

  21. willierednut says:

Hargreaves out, would suggest a defensive midfielder will be the priority. I don’t think the boss will want to lose Scholes as well. Could be a promotion for Tunnicliffe, or Pogba. Who knows, I’m fluent in vodka tonight.

  22. united.george says:

Sad about Hargreaves despite injuries etc, always hoped he would be back…Damn.

  23. Costas says:

Lets see what happens with Gibson too. If he is goint to stay, he will have to sign an extension at some point.

Depending on what happens with Gibbo and Scholes, we could sign a CM. But lets not forget that Fletch and Anderson are expected to play more games next year. That will be a bonus.

  24. parryheid says:

Many thanks for the service you have given us Edwin.Happy healthy retirement to you and your family.

  25. Costas says:

Read somewhere that 8 of the players that started in Rome will start next Saturday. If that’s true, they have to be Edwin, Rio, Vidic, Evra, Park, Carrick, Giggs and Rooney. Going by their current form, Fabio and Valencia will probably start. Unless Sir Alex goes with O’Shea’s experience. So that leaves just one spot that will be contested between Fletch, Ando and Hernandez I feel.

  26. MG says:

    Costas

Up to your old tricks with team sheets a week before it all goes down

    19 Costas Happy 19 ;)

    Goodnight Manchester United

  27. Ferries flying boot says:

Edwin has earned his place as a united legend and will exit with grace, can’t blame the guy after what his wife has been through, good luck for the future big man x

  29. craigv91 says:

Thank you for everything Edwin, I rate him above Schmeichel now in all honesty.

And the Hargo news is gutting too, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ho6Nq-SjDJk easily was the league winner and his celebration gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. Good luck wherever takes him next, they’ve picked up a gem if he can get fit.

  30. willierednut says:

I was gonna say, the rapture tastes so sweet…..

  31. Tonka Norris says:

Hell of a thing to walk away from. I’d forgotten what it was like to fear a weakness in goal but suddenly we have to. But Mrs Eric has been patient with him (and us) and maybe it’s right he now goes home, smokes some weed in Amsterdam and has his smoked herring for breakfast (Park says: “…and they sing songs about the stuff I eat, sheesh”).

Shame about Hargo. Not that we didn’t get used to him being absent. He made Saha and Woodgate look fit!

I’m curious about the team to face Blackpool. They’ll be a couple with price tags on their shirts I suspect.

  32. connor says:

goodluck big man great manchester united career sad too see him goo :(

  33. FletchTHEMAN says:

Does this mean that Kidd will play for United or act as a guest coach in Gary Neville’s testimonial match? There is not enough information for me to make heads or tails of this. Anyone know what is up?

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1389536/Manchester-City-coach-Kidd-return-Reds-night.html

  34. Rai says:

He’ll play Valencia, Giggs, Carrick and Park and Rooney dropping very deep to support with Hernandez up front. Piqué is slow Hernandez will get a chance or two. Carrick and Giggs outplayed the Chelsea midfield because of the support from Park Valencia and Rooney….I think Fabio should be given a start although JOS might edge it, like Costas said, on experience…..

  35. I fucking love Manchester United says:

    Hello fellow red devils,

This is my first post here so a bit chuffed tbh.
    :)
Any ways just wanted to drop in to say that for me VDS is right up there with the big dane.
I know i might get slagged off for this but i love him.A consummate professional and a truly good man.
For me him,Giggs, Neville and Scholes are what every footballer and person
    wants to be.
I will be there in the stretford end to bid farewell to the big man.Thank you VDS for the service.
Thank you for all the great memories. For me you epitomise our season
    -Solid,Top of the game,Incomparable.
I truly hope you continue to be around the club and can guide the new keeper(looks like Gea)
to settle in this cub which we all love.
I hope you teach all the youth players what it is to be the best.
I hope you lead a fulfilling and a happy life.
I cannot wait to see you lift the trophy.
I cannot wait for the trophy to come where it truly belongs.
P.S:Its my first time at OT.I CANNOT BLOODY WAIT!

  36. Nafis says:

    concluding a deal he says…

  37. purchman says:

    we wl mis u VDS

  38. Neil says:

So basically there are no surprises. We knew VDS was leaving, and we haven’t had Hargo for two years so it’s almost as if he’s already gone. It’s sad but inevitable, and United keeps moving forward. Really hoping Tunnicliffe/Pogba/Morrison develop sooner rather than later. I’d much rather see them than someone like Modric. But I really try to avoid transfer speculation. Thank God we have SAF. No need to worry about those things, just wait for the announcement of a signing and trust in the legend to get another impact player like Chico or Smalling.

  39. King Eric says:

Oh damn. So close to changing his mind. Glad I will be there to see him bow out at Old Trafford. I have loved Edwin. A top bloke. Will be missed at the club. Cheers Big Edwin.

Also a shame for Hargreaves. He never gave up but in five months it will be three years since he played. Would take hima full season to get up to speed. Cheers for 07/08 Owen.

Who the fuck is that silly bitch on sky sports now coming out with “Balenthia“ and “Zaragotha“. Shut up.

  40. Samuel - united WE stand says:

    Lmao @ king eric

  41. Samuel - united WE stand says:

Pogba is one outstanding young player, his individual technical ability is unbelievable, i’m so desperate for him to break through alongside morrison and tunniclife, they could take the baton from the likes of giggs and scholes, true great prospects. sir alex needs to put them in the carling cup team, starting them regularly i mean not sporadic appearances from the bench.

  42. Mr Georgie says:

Has to be the best Goal Keeper since the great Dane, Thank you VDS for Your amazing talent, Still remember the moment you saved that penalty in the cup final.
    Great service to United

  43. King Eric says:

Samuel. Hello mate. I agree. Tunniciffe and pogba aren’t far away from Carling cup as they are already big tough lads. Morrsion is gifted to fuck but I think he needs to grow up a bit both mentally but mainly physically to cope with first team football. Tom thorpe is also a talent and is the regular england centre half at all age groups. Will keane is another quality lad but again a way off from first team football. Just my opinion of course.

  44. King Eric says:

Off topic but just watched a documentary on matt le tissier. What a fucking player. Lazy as fuck, never tackled buit fuck me. Genius. Creative but what about his goals. That one against Flowers is one of best I have seen. Used to love watching him play. Kept Southampton up single handedly year after year. At the club for sixteen years and could have gone to a lot of top clubs. Fair play to him.

  45. united.george says:

daily mirror reporting that Tevez will miss City’s open bus parade tomorrow since he is flying back to argentina after the game…..Ha ha, he is leaving you city, start dealing with it….

first of all, why the fuck would you have a celebration with a parade for the FA Cup?? Oh thats rights, it is more of a celebration for silverware after 35 years….it is like a teenager celebrating the loss of his virginity:)

  46. Tonka Norris says:

    OT:
Anyone seen the Dogleash “come back when you’ve won 5 European Cups”. Quote? Mirror

Says of the 19 banner, ‘maybe we should bring our 5 CL cups when we go to Old Trafford next”.

Enjoy the Europa League, Kenny. Come back when you’ve lost a few games and still not quit.

  47. redriderch says:

edwin…thanks for your keeeping!!!!-we alll now that you re our in hearts and min forever…besides schmeichels…

  48. King Eric says:

Get Fucked Dalglish. That’s all the dippers have to beat us with now. Shitty backpass rule and about four games to win it. In the new format the scouse bastards have one.

United george. Hello pal. Ha. An open top bus parade? Fuck me. Massive club. Is that right then about Tevez? City fans will be gutted. Especially the one with the “King Carlos – Citeh legend“ tattoo. I suppose Tevez feels a bit underwhelmed what with winning proper trophies at United instead of ones tainted by that insipid ponce cunt Bernstein. Fuck off city.

  51. Chicharitoooo says:

    guys, 1 question

Are we starting as the home team at Wembley or are we the away team? Just wanting to know what kit we would be sporting that eventful day.

  52. Zibbie says:

Thanks VDS have a blessed retirement.
soon I sleep, then when I wake MUFC will play for goodness sake.
visions of trophy’s all through the night, with Man Utd goals scored with feet and heady might.
Oh what a sight, a 70 year old gaffer acting with such delight.
Number 19 making Man Utd the, One and Only.
Then a fair well to a true Red Devil, Thanks as well Gary Neville.
Then the 28th will be upon us…………and one last shutout and we will all shout out…..
HIS NAME IS OFFICIALLY ADONIS !!!!!!!!!! GO VDS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  53. Lisa Olusegun says:

It’s very sad to see VDS retires but we’ve got to respect his decision. He’s best goalie in EPL in the last Ðecade and it’s good for him to leave on a high at the age of 40yrs. As for Hargo, I’ll have been happier if United can offer him a earn-as-you- play contract but no one can fault Fergie. Can’t wait to see United to trash Barca@Wembley even as we are going to be dressed as the away team.

  54. T4M says:

VDS should play upfront today so he can score

  55. Kings says:

Tonka Norris – Hello mate. Yeah saw that. I hate that fucking cunt Dalglish, bitter scouse cunt, living in the past. The way he was smiling at Wenger after they scored their penalty (I know it was great from our point of view) as if to say, ‘well shit happens’, that’s not the sort of the thing you do to an opposing manager who is pissed off at conceding. I know Wenger is a cunt, but it’s the principle. Rafa did the same to Allardyce. Let them cunts bring that banner if it makes them happy, because if 1994 is anything to go by, they will be giving us that extra incentive to usurp them in that competition as well.

As for the Europa League mate, unless they better Spurs result today, they will not be in Europe next season. Brummies are there as a result of their league cup win, Stoke are there as Comedy Club won the tainted cup, but are in the European Cup, Spurs may get 5th place, so that is the quota of clubs allowed to represent the Premiership. The only possible extra place may well be taken by Fulham through the Fair Play League.

The media love Dalglish as they think he will stand up to Fergie, because these ABU cunts think he’s a bully. That cunt will leave the dippers when the going gets tough.

  56. Kings says:

We have been blessed with two of the worlds best goalkeepers. Whoever comes in next will have a tough act to follow, but I’m sure he will hit the ground running and be a top drawer keeper.

  57. sachu says:

    @kings
    mate is hargo going

  58. King Eric says:

Always be Closing. Yes. I am well aware of that pal. It annoys me though when someone with a cockney accent does it to try and sound Spanish.

  59. Little Red Ant says:

VDS out on top especially after the 28th. Then have a year off and come back as a coach at OT.

Sorry for Hargo but SAF is right to do it – he may be over his problems but you won’t know that until he actually plays. If he does breakdown you are back to square one and we need replacements now not well in to a new season. He must be gutted as I don’t think any other player has had to battle for so long and managed to keep it together – strong mind

  60. knightsmith says:

One of the best signings United have ever made, I, along the rest of us wish him all the best in whatever he chooses to do, he has brough pleasure to all of us.

At least his legacy lives on with his son.

” His 13-year-old son, Joe, is a promising goalkeeper at United’s Carrington academy.”

We are designated as the away team in Wembley.

  65. captaink9 says:

Not surprised hargreaves ain’t getting a new contract, great when fit but honestly a waste of 17m .
VDS well done, someone said better than Schmeichal! Wise up he was the worlds greatest ever.

  66. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Very Fine Mornings Folks. Had some stuff going on, so couldn’t be on for as much as I would’ve liked. NVM, back for the 19th anyways.

Very Happy Birthday, Costas. BDs don’t get better than when United win their 19th title, do they? :D

God felt that Old Trafford without the 34 years banner wouldn’t be the same. So he decided that it was better to create a catastrophe to end the world and create Rapture instead of “that” catastrophical event happening.

Unfortunately for us, something went wrong in His plans, so we are going to have to put up with the disaster of seeing that banner go down.

Oh well, we’ve always have a shitload of banners depicting 19. :D

  67. knightsmith says:

    Happy birthday Costas!

Edwin has sotred a couple of clean sheets as a pressie for you.

  68. Costas says:

    Good Morning Manchester United

Someone said Van Der Sar was better than Schmeical

Yep that was me captaink9 and I am pretty wise to know my own opinion – I didn’t ask everyone to share my point of view – that’s where i stand

Van Der Sar any day of the week over any goalkeeper period – full stop.

  71. Dave Malaysia says:

    Dear Alex Ferguson,

I would like to see Wes Brown,Owen Hargreaves,Micheal Owen,Paul Scholes ,Darren Fletcher
    in todays battle against blackpool.

If the guys do well ,please offer them ,u know who, Wes,Hargo,Michael,Scholes new contracts.

    Thank You.

  72. captaink9 says:

@ MG u have an opinion and in my opinion I think its crazy to think VDS is better than the great Dane for what he done over the 9/10 years he was here. Maybe if we had got VDS at the first time of asking, u could put him along side Peter. Well maybe!

  73. MG says:

    That’s your opinion

Note I don’t think it’s crazy with my opinion

Van Der Sar in his time is unequalled too – we all have our choices and that is the end of that.

  74. I fucking love Manchester United says:

Listening to everyone’s opinion on who is better i couldn’t help but think how effing lucky are
we to have 2 of the best keepers ever
    ;)

  76. CedarsDevil says:

    Morning all true REDS

It will be very emotional to see VDS playing his last game at OT today, thank you big man. I say that with all my heart….

    Morning Costas

I bet you must be hung over after last night, or is the party tonight? Happy birthday buddy

  77. RED_Dakduivel says:

All-time best Dutch goalkeeper if you ask me ! What a great time at OT he’s enjoyed. He really had a major influence on our recent domestic and international succes. What makes him stand out as a goalie is his footballing ability, I mean, this bloke can really pass a ball. A classy lad and one hell of a goalkeeper but most of all a true Old Trafford Legend.

_0_ Edje van der Sar BAAS / #1 LEGEND _0_

    I Salute You.

  78. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Here we go with the opinions again!

I liked MG’s opinion the other day about Hayley McQueen. No arguing with that. That was absolutely valid. :D

  79. captaink9 says:

    Roy Carroll.

  80. RED SAM says:

    fergi on Hargreaves
“This has been a difficult decision knowing how hard the lad has worked to win back his fitness, but we have made it in the hope he will be able to resurrect his career elsewhere,”

    Goodluck Hargo :-(
    said Ferguson.

  81. Utd4life says:

Gutted to see VDS leaving but hey, all good things come to an end right?? Thank you for everything VDS.. You will surely be missed..

As for Hargo, it’s sad but it was inevitable.. I always thought we would see the curly lad back in action but guess God had other plans.. Hope he can resurrect his career elsewhere.. One of the most talented CM’s England has ever produced..

  82. CedarsDevil says:

We have been blessed with some great keepers at United, Gary Bailey was excellent for us during the 80′s when I was a regular at OT (Sigh, I miss those days!) and before him of course we had Alex Stepney and for those who do not know, Stepney was the club’s top scorer in the season we got relegated in 73/74 as he was the club’s penalty taker!!

  83. RED_Dakduivel says:

The Berb to score a hattrick today and leave that Argi cunt crying for fuck all !

  84. Dazbomber says:

I am not name dropping or trying to be clever. I played golf yesterday with Ryan giggs best mate . He said that Rooney and Hernandez will start in the cup final we are going for it.

  85. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Regarding Hargreaves, as Utd4life says, it was one of those inevitable decisions really. He has spent the past 3 years on the treatment table. If that doesn’t prove that his playing days are over, I don’t know what will. I would be amazed if any other club goes near him.

For all his abilities, he will be treated with skepticism now because if United’s medical team, resources, money and the help of the world’s finest knee surgeon cannot fix him for 3 years, then I don’t know what can.

I really, really feel sorry for him because he was one of the main reason we won the double in 2008 but I think his playing days are over.

  86. smartalex says:

Thank you Edwin. All the best for you and yours!

  87. Utd4life says:

@Balaji.. Well said mate.. This could very well be the end of Hargo’s playing career.. No club would risk buying a player who is so crocked.. I will always remember the freekick against Arsenal.. One of those images that has been etched permanently in my mind.. Thank you for the memories Hargo..

  88. redrider says:

thought he might get a pay as you play deal or something.such a shame.

and vds over schmeichel for me too. vds dint go over to wastelands now did he?

  89. Mikekelly12 says:

@ Cedars. I remember the Gary Bailey days, followed by the Chris Turner days. Turner was a top keeper just too bleedin small. One of my favourites was “the cat” Les Sealey! RIP.

Happy Birthday Costas, appears I sent my best wishes a little early yesterday.

  90. CedarsDevil says:

    Mikekelly12

Good point re Les (RIP) and someone else mentioned that today marks the birthday of George Best (RIP) arguably the best player United ever had and in my opinion the world of football.

  91. CedarsDevil says:

Just a quick share with my fellow REDS…..

I clearly remember that summer of 74 as a kid I never quite understood why my late father (who was a bigger frigging nut case than I am when it comes to United) was so depressed during that summer. A few years later it all became clear to me of course!

Where ever you are dad, I am sure with Best, Sir Matt and co you will be watching proud today as we lift number 19….

    UNITED

  92. kel says:

Why do i feel that Edwin wants to stay? I hope he stays but both him and Sir Alex knows he cant carry on for long and which Sir Alex is concluding a new deal for a new keeper means he already planning for our new team! Woah! Next season we will become better as i know this new keeper and 2 new players will further improve the team.

  93. Kings says:

Fuck off Sean Custis you fat cunt. He is championing a punishment for a fine if we field a side that is deemed not the strongest. Fair play to Henry Winter though he is arguing that case with him.

  94. MG says:

    Balaji

I second your second on my Hayley McQueen opinion

  95. Costas says:

Are defenders allowed to tackle? That’s not a knock on Ronnie by the way. It’s just that his 42 goals for us in 2007-2008 seem to be a harder feat than this.

    @Kings

    Thanks again mate.

  99. CedarsDevil says:

Costas my friend, we all know that La Liga is just an upgraded version of the Scottish league….

    Kings

    Morning buddy, how are you?

  100. GoatinaUnitedShirt says:

    @I fucking love Manchester United
I see where your coming from in regards to this and of course every United fan should be very greatful for what they managed to acchieve in 68 BUT would your invitation also include the 99 winners, the 08 winners, what about the cup winners cup winners from 92. I realise we owe alot to our history but when the team becomes more and more successful then it seems the glorys of the past are, not forgotten, but had their time. You cant expect the Glazers or Manchester United to bring along a massive contingent that probably runs up in the hundreds now.

  101. Kings says:

CedarsDevil – Morning my friend. I’m good thanks. Just watching my favourite ABU show the Sunday Supplement. Slim pickings today as much of it is about the relegation issues, but as mentioned in a previous comment, they haven’t failed to disappoint as that fat cunt Sean Custis wants us punished if we field a ‘weakened team’. I hope he chokes on a croissant the fucking S.O.B.

    How you are you mate?

  102. gottalovethepea says:

nothing on the clubs website about hargreaves, so maybe theres hope yet of a new contract. it is a story in the daily mail after all.
personally, for everything he has achieved in the game and the length of time he has been at the top of the game, van der sar has to go down as the best goalkeeper of all time

  103. CedarsDevil says:

    Kings

I am very well my friend…. Thanks for asking

Cannot wait to see us lift that trophy today

  104. CedarsDevil says:

As for that hateful extreme right wing cunt, who is also a fucking racist, I will get to you later and you know yourself…. For today I have things to enjoy you ignorant cunt…..

Just watch out, I am after you

  105. Kings says:

CedarsDevil – Yeah I’m looking forward to seeing us lift that trophy too mate. Who is this right wing racist cunt you’re talking about mate? Excuse my ignorance.

  106. GoatinaUnitedShirt says:

@Cedars, not me is it, lol. I am a Tory but Im center right and as for racist. I’ll stand up for my history, if that makes me a racist. You cant please all the people all the time.

Gutted for Hargo but its a bit like a senial grandmother dying after years of illness, sorely missed but expected.
If VDS contemplated and had second thoughts about coming out of retirement then maybe he will play again in the dutch league, closer to his wife. I don’t think we’d begrudge him that. A great servant and have a good day Edwin.
Can’t wait to see who the our new goalkeeper will be because the camerars will surely pick out his face in the crowd as he will be surely invited to see the Manchester United machine in action and his new team mates and fans celebrating 19.
As for King Kenny the scabby twonk, “I’d rather have 5 European Cups than 19 league titles”. Ok thats your choice and opinion but what you said is not entirely true. Disregarding that we have 11 FA cups as well. What you should have said is “Id rather have 5 European Cups, dead fans and a blanket 5 year ban on all English clubs partaking in European competition THAN 19 league titles”. And that sir makes you a cunt.

  107. Kings says:

All racists are classless brain dead fucking cunts. That’s my final say on that topic. Looking forward to the lifting of the trophy today, then onto to next Saturday for the European Cup Final.

  108. xol says:

This young De Gea chap reportedly oohing and ahhing over his decision will see how hard it is for Edwin to leave this great club and perhaps be convinced.

  109. willierednut says:

Fergie confirmed Hargreaves is leaving. You can’t get much more clearer than that. De Gea is a done deal. At least the lad is willing to try another country. Neuer doesn’t want to leave him comfort zone of German football.
