Patrice Evra, who hasn’t played since our home win over Liverpool, is set to come back in to the team against Norwich today after being given some time off.
“The intention was always to give Patrice a clean break away from it all after the Suarez thing,” Fergie said. “He needed that rest factor because don’t forget he’s been playing non-stop for four years. But he’s nice and fresh now and he’s had his break. It was a difficult time mentally for him, with everything that’s been going on. After the Liverpool game was over, that was the right time mentally to give him the break. We also needed to give him a break physically, so he’s nice and fresh for the run-in.”

Man Utd News 24/7

Regardless what he does from this day on, Evra is a legend in my books….. United through and through and just one of those players you simply love to love
Good to have him back.
A man who wears the badge with pride!
Although possibly not quite at his best this season, his enthusiasm and determination go down very well with most fans.
Go get ‘em Paddy!
Haha, you just had to be first eh Cedars?
Good morning M’Lord!
It’s in my blood
I almost just forgive you because you paid your tributes! hahaha
Good morning to you too my friend….. Evra is fast becoming an Ole in my books
Yeah not been at his best, but everything he says is so right pure United !!!!!!!!!! deserves the arm band when he has it
Alright guys, I’m back. Is the discussion gonna be here or somewhere else? We need a thread for Ole’s birthday
evra > racist prick
what apology?! bitch.
Right folks, off to play football, be back before the match!
Morning fellow reds. It’s good to have Paddy back, his attitude, not just on the pitch, but to the club as a whole is top class and he’s also our captain.
I must say, I’m a bit nervous about today’s game though. I don’t think we are particularly good with the early kick offs. I think that’s why we don’t spank the dippers the way we should.
top united man. if anybody doubts pat’s love for the club, take a particular look at his reaction whenever united score or concede.
i love evra, he deserves to be captain!
theboogeyman
is today ole’s birthday?
If anyone deserved a break, he did. Lets see how fresh he looks physically (and more importantly, mentally) he looks today.
Indeed Paddy is a wonderful professional but back to basics he is brilliant going forward but really needs to sort out his defensive duties.
I love Paddy but he has forgotten how to mark on the turn and we have been massively exposed.
I’m getting old had 5 pints last night and I’m hungover.
Keano
Dont worry that is four more that Cedars can handle
Massive game today it really is, we need to take maximum points in what wil be a tricky away game.
keano99
Spare a thought for Cedars, 3 alcopops at aged 83 and a much younger woman who outdrinks him with ease, he’s always hungover!
Or hung out.
Haha, Cedars, are you ready for it today?
I have to agree with the early kick offs comment, we’ve never really looked comfortable with them.
Still, 3 points ugly will do, a good performance as well will be a bonus.
I fucking love Evra. His jubilation is top class. Anyone remembered the one he did with Youngy at O.T. against Arsenal? Words cant descibe what that jubilation means to me. Always running after the scorer anytime we score. (Though, change of enviroment hasnt allowed me to watch much of our match this season).
Come on you beautifully beautiful Reds……..go bag the 3 points. Greetings to you all.
On the rare occasions that Utd are not on live, getting a decent feed is a real bitch!
The cockney derby being screened might attract a reasonable amount of viewers, but probably pales into insignificance compared to the hundred million+ trying to get to see United.
Costas, i knew i should have asked you to get me one of your Greek decoders!
One of my favorite player Evra…i know he is not having best of seasons but he still does contribute to our attacking and is very passionate.. he loves united as much as most of us here…i hope he plays tonight..must win game..
In meantime check this out haha…it cracked me up..

Fucking scousers….
Its in my blood
Morning mate.
We have to get used to the early kick offs from now on theres a plenty from now till the end of the season. Bloody Europa.
Pissed I didn’t get a ticket today was well up for it.
Evra rocks and has handled himself well unlike the classless Job Dodgers.
Good Morning United.
Time to put in a shift today and I mean a shift of epic proportions.
So come on United – need to banish the last time result against Norwich away all those years ago.

@Patrice Evra
Wear the armband forget everything else lead United
Easy.

Morning mate, i was wondering if you were on your way down there.
Shame, but your voice is probably grateful!
Big big day this, those 3 points are seriously important, i honestly feel our season depends on us getting 6 points from our next 2 games.
After that, the bitters will crack.
Like you, would absolutely love to be there now.
On the plus side, Klan fans have got problems getting to their little kickabout due to a train derailment. (snigger)
Smartalex still on the missing list?
Its in my blood
Yeh Norwich is only 45mins away so would have been a nice one to do but never mind still hopefull for Spurs. I heard about that train derailment ,save the scousers the pain of seeing Cardiff lift the cup. Well we can only hope.
Blimey James, Cedars wasn’t kidding when he said you make a trek and a half to get to games!
45 mins from Carrow Rd?
Respect mate! True Red.
Other players, as well as Evra, form now to the end of the season need to be focused and treat each game seriously. I though we have been far too complacent this season, costings us several points and CL exit.
They still have matters in their own hands. Although this is easier said than done, we will be Champions again if all we win all the remaining games and Shitty can do nothing about it!!!!
Morning fuck faces…. Very hungover. Was out in Cedars old stomping ground of Chorlton last night. Ended up in the Irish club Surrounded by signed United shirts and pictures of Sir Matt. HUGE game today and we need to put in a better shift against these fellas than we did at OT or we’ll find ourselves with a 5 point gap to close! Evra is a great pro but has made mistakes this season. Let’s hope this rest will sharpen him up because at this stage of the season they are costly.
Anyone tell an unfortunate what time is kick off today?
Paddy is a true united legend
Anyone else wondering if Cleverley will ever get back to his former glory as he’s been out of sorts the last two games
Its in my blood
Luckily all my family are in the Stockport area so I stay with Mum on most match weekends, only really go to a few on the coach, a few more recently though. I joined the local supporters club and I’m registered on the away club list so I do get some aways just alot of demand for the Norwich game as its local. Ipswich is only 25 miles away so a bit closer but they’re no good in the Championship need them in the Prem. Used to do alot of work for a landlord on Sandy Lane in Chorlton so I’ve probably passed you in the street also used to go to Barbican Deli for butties. Is it still there?
Morning limp dicks? Inspired by Mikey!
My team for the canaries.
DDG, Rafael Rio Evans Evra, Nani Carrick Jones Young, Rooney Welbeck
2 1 United.
Morning Fuckface hope you’re about to have some Hair of the Dog mate.
Tony, Kick Off at 1:30
Right lads to work.Three points required and for fucks sake paddy stay with your man. Go United
Ta J21
Any team news guys?
Giggs and Scholes start. No Rooney. Welbeck, pea up front.
Giggs starts and is 3 appearances away from overtaking Paolo Maldini’s 902 league appearances.
Cheers willie
DDG, Jones Rio Evans Evra, Nani Scholes Carrick Giggs, pea Welbeck
It’s that feral, racist, cheating cunt that needs a break of the physical kind, though I am biased on the matter hehe
Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra and Paul Scholes start, but no Wazza !
James
I used to live there in the 70′s and early 80′s.
Still got lots of mates down there but don’t really know what shops are there anymore.
I was on Egerton Rd Nth and as Cedars knows, for a while Clarendon Road when i ran off aged 16 and got a flat with a girl!
I’m in North Mcr now but also have a business in the city centre, so no such challenges getting to games for me!
Having said that, i spent 3 years in the States and the only way to get anything United at the time was to get up early with my transistor radio and sit in the middle of a park listening to the match.
It started off as me alone but eventually i was regularly joined by 4-5 Irish lads who also had withdrawal symptoms.
Speak later mate, nearly time now.
C’mon you Reds!
UNITED! UNITED! UNITED!
Apparently Norwich like to score headed goals. Not today, hopefully if that line up’s anything to go by. Got the height to deal with it.
I guess there goes my theory about Berbatov being a direct replacement for Rooney when he’s missing. Just plain 4th choice then..
Congrats to Giggsy for his 900th appearance, but like I said yesterday, I am not in favor of starting both him and Scholes today.
Rafael must be gutted? How can you obtain momentum, when you get rested every second game? People will say he’s small, but he out jumped Carroll the other week!
Would’ve liked to see Young starting ahead of Giggs. With the exception of Nani our midfield has no pace whatsoever… unless we’re playing 4-3-3 with Giggs GingNinj and Carrick sitting back and Nani Pea and Wellbred causing havoc up front. Actually I’d quite like that, never mind Young then. COME ON YOU REDS!!! PS anyone know the bench?
ItsInMyBlood – I lived on Egerton rd N too, around 2001-06. Manchester is red indeed.
James – the Barbakan is still here. Packed on weekends. As you probably know Chorlton house prices have gone up and the area now attracts middle class foodie types and bars have signs saying, ‘no football shirts’. Northern scum like myself still frequent the area though!
Yep I must say I’d be starting Rafael at right back all day long, even when we’ve a full squad to choose from. He’s been nothing short of outstanding lately and he really can’t do anymore than he’s been doing to make that position his own.
xol
Haha! Getting to be a fair few of us Chorlton Reds then!
hate it when rooney’s out. We seem to struggle without him
i know berbatov’s work rate is not very good, but he seems to bring alot of calmness to the team up front
xol
Ha Ha. Yeh same happened in Didsbury, upper class wannabe’s in a Manchester overspill. House prices rocketed with new flats and apartments popping up on every bit of waste ground.
Barbikan was always heaving but was well worth the wait.
COME ON REDS !
I know me of all people with my eloquent writing skills shouldn’t do this but it was too good
“Some interesting news to bring you on the Harry Redknapp for England front. FA chairman David Bernstein is at the Emirates Stadium and has now been in attendance for two consecutive Tottenham fixtures. For Tottenham fans this as worrying as the Emperor keeping close tabs on young Anakin Skywalker.”
Harry Redknapp is Anaking Sywalker
Thnaks BBC you’ve just made my day
Thanks not Tnacks!
Bloody typos
Come on UNITED!!!
Oh bloody hell
Anakin not Anaking
Don’t ask
One more time!
Come on UNITED
Oh bloody hell
I’m talking to myself with new threads up
Anaking or wanking
Good to see dippers on the back foot . Come on Cardiff .
