Fergie In Funny FA Dig

Sir Alex Ferguson recognises that most of the non-United supporting football fans in the country will be cheering on Barcelona this weekend.

After winning his 12th English league title this week, he could win his 3rd European Cup on Saturday.

This season, Rooney has been banned for swearing whilst other players do it weekly with no punishment and Ferguson has even been charged for praising a referee. The manager had a sarcastic word or two for them in his press conference today.

“There’s tribalism, we understand it,” said Ferguson. “At least the FA are behind us.”

Nick Coppack definitely learnt from the gaffer. This is a quote from him, yesterday, before the FAYC final game on http://www.manutd.com

“We’ve just endured an hour of horrific weather in Manchester. Galeforce winds, heavy rain… we had the lot. I hope it clears up for tonight’s Youth Cup final. And I’m glad I’m not travelling anywhere this evening in an open-top bus… (NC)”

Shitty club -> Shitty fan -> Shitty life.

  27. swede says:

It is sad that when a side from England reach a final the rest of the football fans in England wants the english side to lose. In many other countries fans manage to set aside who they support as they are patriotic and sees a win for a national side as a good thing for all other sides in their country.
But we must not forget the many Liverpool fans that called in just after Uniteds amazing win in Barcelona in 1999 saying they loved how we turned that game and won it. We must realise that media will make it look like non-United fans want us to lose but it is not as simple as that when you look at it a bit deeper. Still I wish more fans from other clubs would openly show their support for a side from their country and league.

    Fergie is the master.

  29. Kings says:

lilywhitemike – Manchester United – World Champions twice
    England – World Champions once.

    Therefore United>England.

  30. swede says:

Have you lot seen Paddy Power’s commercial where they give you a refund if you place a bet on Barca winning during normal time?
Seems they are pretty confident that we will lose.
Nice to see Nicky Butt looking better and younger than ever tonight in Gary’s game. A nice shaved head does wonders for any man it seems.
    NO HOMO!

  31. swede says:

…if Barca does not win they will refund your bet.

  32. Redgirl80 says:

Go SAF! Really hope he carries on into his 80s;)))

  33. K_Stand_Red says:

    @lilywhitemike

They’re not daft. They make a statement that United are greater than England. We’ve won more. Fact.

  34. gazzer says:

Can’t wait to see our rubbish team beat the team with 7 world cup winners plus Messi!!!!

  35. dannysoya says:

United IS IN FACT greater than England. Unlike england.. We actually Play good football and WIN TROPHIES. can anyone remind me that last time England won a major trophy? It is a miracle anyone still respects that national team.

  36. Louis says:

Good idea! Form now on, managers should just say the opposite of what theyre thinking. Cant get banned for sarcasm; just say you were serious. When Sralex retires, wouldnt be surprised if he turns o stand-up.
