Boca Juniors are Manchester United’s first opponents in the Audi Cup which kicks off tomorrow evening Munich.
Sir Alex Ferguson has confessed that during sleepless nights in Manchester he has watched Boca Juniors playing on late night telly.
“If you can’t sleep at three in the morning in England, then you can see Boca,” said Ferguson. “And I don’t sleep at three so I have seen them many times. They are one of the best teams in South America. We had a very competitive game with them at Old Trafford three years ago.”

Man Utd News 24/7

this wont be an easy game for united. in this tournament we can find out the weakness and strengths of united.
What is this man made of? If i couldn’t sleep at 3am, i would be doing something completely different!
But he got the game wrong. It was 7 years ago and indeed it was very competitive! Scholes owining a young Argie cunt named Carlos Tevez. Anyone heard of him?
Costas, i could have sworn that south american dictator was called carlos tevez….
who cares, hes dead now anyway
That goal by Palermo was a cracker!
To be at the top you need to be borderline obsessive !
Nani could be one to watch this season
I’m off to the game – can’t wait!!
I’m the same, I used to get home drunk not been able to sleep, put channel 5 on and watch Argentine football!
I’m expecting some goal son both ends of the pitch since Boca plays a similar quick-passing highly technical attacking style— I’m very excited to watch this one!
I bet this fellow’s ace at Football Manager.
oh ya, south american football in the early mornings. havent done that in a long time.
They love playing attacking football those ppl. I’ve watched a game for them that they should win so they win the league it was 2-1 for them and in the 91 minute and they were all on attack with only two players covering their half . They drove me crazy what if the other team countered u would lose the league .but at the end it was great to watch .
3am. Watching football. Apparently there’s other things on at that time.
I used to get up at 5am to watch Manchester United in the early kick offs when I lived in South America. It was worth it to hear the mental commentators alone – one of them would bring in his bontempi organ and make up songs during the commentary about United players and he couldnt sing for shit – fucking hilarious !
But best of all was fact he could not pronounce WAYNE so just called him BABY Rooney instead ( not jokingly either)
At 3am im either ball deep up to my nuts in guts or im dreaming about united winning the treble again.
His days must surely have a bunch of power naps…
well, the second goal was impressive
O Yeah – This is Tevez team… wow can’t wait.
If United win this one, it will deflate CARLA Tevez like nothing else. He will be watching and wanting the Argies to do us for sure. So I hope Vida doesn’t play in this one, not until late on, because he is not match fit, and we will need a strong defense for these relentless attacking fucks!
Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllll
is it true that every match will be played for just a half ? (45 misn only)
lol rava
erm i dun like the ideas relating this match to Tevez, it makes us look real obsessed with him. I know Boca was his favourite club, and he wants to end his career there, but this match has got nothing to do with him. Even when he eventually goes back to Boca, i’ll only hate him, not the club. It makes Tevez look very big to us, and i feel ashamed of that.
I have been watching United at 3 am, what a co-incidence.
, not anymore though…
Most of the champions league games start at around 1 am here in India and go on till about 3-3:30….so i guess we’ve got something in common…!!
Watching football at 3am is nothing to us in Singapore. For years we’ve been watching CL matches at that earthly hour & we all know CL matches are held mid-week. Yes, we go to work next morning too. Bring on the CL!
HAHA! yes bobkoh! I remember staying up to watch United beat Chelsea 1-0 (that looping header goal by Fletcher) and having to take my English O Level exam the next day!
I also skipped my class when Utd lost 3-0 at the San Siro 3 seasons ago.
No chance in hell i’d miss a United game.
I spend most of my time dozing off in the toilet once im at school.
In the toilet??I sleep in class,it’s more fun.
I wonder why he is watching football when there is
a lot of good stuff on the tele at 3.00am. I suspect he
is not telling the truth.
i was watchin united vs sporting lisbon a few seasons ago, and the commentator claimed united one of the sporting players had signed for united and was due to come in a year or two, any one else remember this or who he was???? sorry to post it twice scott but its doing my head in trying to remember
