Fergie On Nani’s Injury

Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed today that Nani won’t make it back in time for our league game against Bolton next weekend, meaning he will miss at least three games and will be out for as much as four weeks, with our next possible game being away to West Ham at the beginning of April.

“We have managed to stitch the injury, which is good news,” said Ferguson. “We need to guard against infection and swelling. It is difficult to say exactly when he will be ready to return but we won’t get him back for the Bolton match next Saturday.”

Not too bad if toni V is back, Nani will be fresh too, and with the upcoming international break, that will help too

  2. Linvoy says:

MAssive loss in the title run-in…. i can only hope that this is a precautionary statement and he will be back for next league match!

  3. redddevil says:

seeing as it is goal.com it might be bullshit.. but you cant say he hasnt earned

  4. Costas says:

    Thanks Carragher.

Going to have to win the next 3 without him. And probably without Antonio since the timing for his return has to be right. I just hope Park and Rio are back for Marseille.

  5. HARGREAVES' CURLY HAIR says:

Hope Nani can make it back after the international game,ah it’s a shame that Nani had to get scraped down the side of his leg by that thug Carragher, anyway hope he gets back soon so we can have him and Tony V bombing down our wings
    @Red devil
Glad to hear that Chicharito is being offered a contract extension

  6. gerkeo says:

such bullshit really that there hasnt even been a statement by the FA about carraghers tackle, Rooney clipped mccarty with an intentional elbow and all hell broke loose. Nani gets assualted and its fine cause its Nani the united diver.
If Nani played for arsenal the press would be having a piss fit about it.

its crazy how nothin is getting mentioned of Carragher…

  8. smartalex says:

Good news on Nani’s progress, well done medico’s. We hope for a full and speedy recovery.

Carragher achieved his intention, to take out Nani for as long as he could. More than ever, we despise liverpool and their disgusting methods. We will not be stopped.

  9. Gorse Hill Red says:

The Scousers will stop at nothing to prevent us winning the title, by consciously injuring our best players to throwing games as they did last year and will do again this year against Arsenal. The most classless scum in the league they are, fans and club alike.

  10. FailsworthDevil says:

If you look at the link from the villa blog below… they all reckon that Ashley Young is off to United this summer… WITH there blessing… the majority reckons he deserves a shot with us.

  12. smartalex says:

bennett – Tony V is not available against arsenal.

  13. Paul says:

Im suprised he hasnt said anything about that scum bag for what he did!

That would be the first thing id have said and publicly slated Carragher! SCUM

  14. Alom says:

guys is there any news of Ji Sung Park??

  15. FailsworthDevil says:

Rio & Ji still not fit

  16. willierednut says:

    That’s it confirmed then.

  17. Giles Oakley says:

Spot on Gerkeo. After the Wigan match there were non-stop media attacks for over a week on Rooney for the elbow (which I think was reflexive self defence as McCarthy ran at him off the ball with arm up) with demands for the FA to ‘do something’, despite McCarthy having made no complaint to the ref when given the chance on the pitch. This media frenzy continued every day, before, during and after the Chelsea and Liverpool matches, with the implication that he shouldn’t have been playing in either game. These attacks on Rooney & United only dried up when media attention turned to the ‘injustice’ of Van Persie’s red card (which was indeed tough). Meanwhile Carragher’s lunge in with a wild studs-up ‘challenge’ hardly gets a mention , despite Nani’s leg being nastily ripped to the bone just below the knee, ending the involvement of United’s player of the year in the match, and now several further crucial fixtures.Carragher gets off with a yellow card and apart from some adverse comments from the commentary team, and some criticisms in the next day’s match reports, that’s it. No complaints from United (inhibited by the furore over Fergie’s recent comments on referees) so the issue just disappears. No witch hunt, no strident demands for retrospective ‘justice’ from all those hacks who were previously so concerned about driving out dangerous play . So , we’ll see Fergie get his inevitable FA ban, the refereeing decisions will continue to go against United, United will have to keep thier mouths shut, while we are told straight faced that ‘the big decisions’ go United’s way. And worse, Carragher, a player I have a lot of time for , will get away scot free with one of the worst fouls I’ve seen anywhere this season. I believe it was quite deliberate, with the intention of putting Nani out of action just as the season is coming to a climax. Carragher is a true Scouser and he’ll do anything to stop United getting that 19th title. I hate to say that about any professional footballer but that’s how it looks to me. And what makes me angry is that he’s got away with it.

  18. shebangsthedrums says:

Giles Oakley – Spot on and well put. Lets hope we can do our talking on the pitch, starting tomorrow.

  19. redfever says:

Gerkeo and Giles-exactly. It’s disgusting that the press can still harp on Rooney’s elbow, and not even mention a single word of carragher’s tackle. And even blatter woke up too from nowhere. Sir Alex not mentioning about this clearly shows the disgusts, and to tell you the truth, when most teams play with 12 men against us, like liverpool and chelsea, the only thing in our capacity to do is to maintain our steel and reply with a good solid performance. Even the home game against chelsea, since they have 12 men against us, the home adv doesn’t count. We have to give a good game, somewhat like the 3-0 against chelsea in 2008, a great performance, no chance for ourselves to be disadvantaged by refereeing decisions.

Everybody’s hate makes us stronger, and we’re going to win the title come May.

  20. wayne says:

thats the same as what was reported the day after by several newspapers so i’m not suprised by the time, last thing utd or nani needs is for a infection lets hope everything goes smooth

  21. MyCowIsTheBest says:

it’s Karma. hahahaha. Steven Gerrard is out for four weeks. He has an unsuccessful injury.

Why am i bringing Gerrard’s story here? Because i feel so satisfied. Gerrard pushed Nani when Nani was trying to show the ref his leg.

Rot in hell Gerrard. With your breaking body. You have never won a league title, and you have a crumbling body. HAHAHAHHAA

/ps i have never wished for misery to any football player except for evil ones. Plus i just cannot stand how Liverpool fans are enjoying Nani’s injury. Liverpool, no class at all. Even Torres says that.

  22. smartalex says:

    I will second that, MyCowIsTheBest!

“Rot in hell Gerrard. With your breaking body. You have never won a league title, and you have a crumbling body. HAHAHAHHAA”

  23. MyCowIsTheBest says:

oopppsss hahahaha what did i mean by unsuccessful injury? haha.. i meant to say unsuccessful operation for his groin injury.

  24. Mr. Shandy says:

Good news everyone, the Wigan player that Rooney hospitalized is now out of the coma and is expected to make a full recovery by the end of the year. As soon as the guy is up and running I’m sure the press will move on to another story.

Meanwhile, I hear that Phil Collins records are enjoying an overnight comeback on Merseyside, with fearful DJs cranking out “Sussudio” and “A Groovy Kind of Love” like there’s no tomorrow (and for some of them there might not be).

  25. Neil says:

Sounds stupid, but I had this exact same injury years ago and the pain from swelling is awful. When you walk or try to run the swollen area jiggles and its nearly unbearable. Four weeks sounds about right, but I didn’t have the medical help Nani’s getting
