Alot was said about the pitch but i dont think it really mattered.

All footballers play on Grass, Astro Turf & Gym Floors. If your a good footballer you will play well on them all.

People may critisise the Pitch, THe ball bouncing but ffs does it really matter… Dont you think CSK would love a pitch like ours!…… Hell yeah! But their weather gets too extreme!

With regards to Fabio i think he will be a fantastic player in years to come. Lets all remember he is still learning. A short while before he came off he gave the ball away on the edge of the 18! which lead for a chance for CSK… These things happen when players are learning,,, if we loose a goal due to a mistake some opinions may change!… in the real world it is expectble!

one thing for sure! The future is dam bright!

SAF is being complimentary to the Russians’ plastic pitch – it was a very difficult surface and there were several obvious problems for UTD’s players in the first quarter of the match. Once they got the “rub of the green”, so to speak, the field was tilted and CSKA began to play for a home-draw.

I also thought that their disallowed “goal” was not offsides but this is such stupid rule that one can only be grateful when it’s interpreted in our favour.

SAF was also bigging-up Fabio – he played his attacking role brilliantly, linking up with Nani almost seamlessly to create all sorts of problems for CSKA in the first half BUT he was also left chasing Krasic on too many occasions. That’s why, I think, he was less of an attacking threat after the break – SAF must have told him that his primary duty was to defend. In any event, he’s a gem and, like his brother, his best days are ahead of him but it can’t be any consolation to him that to get regular playing-time all he has to do is displace the best, attacking left-back in the world !

That pitch was a cock up…It was so clear how it affected the game!The ball kind of stuck every time it bounced.

The result is ok..just what we needed! but I’m really happy the ref decided for offside when krasnici shot the goal cos I didn’t think it really was offside… lucky us! fabio did a good job!!

Fabio is 19 not 18 but nevertheless he was brilliant yesterday and will only get better.Still has to improve defensively but with experience that will come.

I think that CSKA caused more problems than is being made out.
A few times the ball was allowed to bounce when somebody should have got on to the end of it. A good example is the final freekick CSKA had. The ball came in and it bounced right infront of the keeper. Not a defender dealt with it. Those kind of moments may cost us in the future.
However a good all round proffessional performance.
