In the interview with CNN, Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken about the temptations Cristiano Ronaldo faced in the summer, when Real Madrid came knocking.
He claims that the effect of Ronaldo’s desire to go to Real Madrid in the summer have been evident with some of his performances on the pitch, but reckons our winger is lucky because he’s got honest people around him.
“I think that he’s had temptations and I think there have been periods when you’ve seen the effect of it on the pitch,” said Ferguson. “If it stays with him and changes him as a person then you have a problem. Fortunately Ronaldo has good human qualities. He’s a good guy. He knows when he’s gone too far and he draws back in after that. He’s lucky in the sense that people here can tell him the truth and be straight with him and he appreciates that, and he has responded to that.”

we will see this summer, but we should now believe hin when he says he wishes to stay and support him again
I’ve said it before, it now seems that Ronaldo is being “enabled.” Come now, lets not make excuses.
im sorry but i want rid of this side show. Our club was treated like a fucking joke last summer at the expense of this cunt, the tabloids, rival fans, players, managers all had a great laugh. While our fans, players and manager who adored him cudnt enjoy the successful season we just had because this wee upstart cudnt be honest with the club.
Its a Joke, and ill never forgive him for what he did. The sooner he goes the better. Sure when hes gone and when we get beat ill say to myself fuck onl if Ronaldo was here, but then ill think back to the stick dished out in summers of 2006 and 2008, the constant daily speculation, the flirting with a rival club, the constant youll know in a few days shit, the only god knows bollocks, ill say to myself fuck it were not winning but at least I know the players im watchin arnt guna stab the club in the back.
I’m sick n tired of dis ronaldo shit,d gaffer is definitely d 1 makin hm stay cos of d club’s pride bt cum 2thnk abt it in dis modern day do 1 tell u watz gud 4u?
Oh boy,i can see the tabloids twisting this tomorrow.”Fergie:”Ronaldo’s Real deal wrecked our season”".Wait and see.
Costa’s i was just thinkin that mate… Ronaldo = Malacka (if thats how ya spell it mate)..
I want rid now… as long as we get the whole money to spend, and get a good couple of players in… ie out n out goalscorer, and a really productive winger… (Benzema & Ribery)… and maybe Valencia… i would be happy with that..
Then all SAF has gotta do is go out and get a midfield enforcer… Essien type…
Got a link to the full interview?
we already new that
it was in a comment 26 weeks ago
yawn
FailsworthDevil well said, lol. You don’t need the “c” though.Ronaldo could bring a lot of cash in the summer that’s for sure.I am not to sure how much of them the Glazers will choose to invest back into the club.Apparently the debts don’t seem to decrease any time soon.
Alex – it will be here in full tomorrow.
Ok cheers Scott.
Sure we all know come june the 1st when theres no football to comment on, the back pages of the tabloids will need filling, ronaldo to madrid will be the story thats gona keep them selling papers
che sera sera _________ – fill in the blanks…if he goes fine, if he stays and is committed, fine again. Either way come the beginning of next season we will be okay. This is just plain tiresome. Honestly, what is needed is for SAF is to sit down with Ronnie and ask him what he wants – if he wants out, sell him. We don’t know the whole story, but it boils down to how SAF handled the issue. If he somehow connived to and is conniving to keep ronnie against his will, I think we all agree now that its not worth it. If ronnie was actually convinced by SAF that his future lay here, then we need some sort of clear indication that is the case – we don’t have that. Either way this issue has to be resolved and out in the open come the new season. We can blame Ronaldo, but I think even SAF has been unfair with the fans on this issue by not being transparent.
he must have said he wants to stay five times in row now…he was offered more money to go to the club he suipported as a boy. I reckon if the tables where turned and you played for club bumble fuck and manchester united came knocking you would be out the door but Ronaldo actually stayed. How many of us would do the same in his shoes…NOT ME!!! He never made a transfer request like stevie me. No ones perfect people make mistakes and it would be great if he stayed but at the same time he will leave sometime. So far he has shown ALOT of loyalty (Depending on how you look at it) but clearly the real story here is it vindicates what Scott has been saying about his poor attitude on the pitch.
coogle – i quite agree
frank luvs wazza – get back to school. i take it you’re 13 years old?
I think the lad had a point when he wanted to go to madrid, he achieved everything that could be achieved with united, so naturally he would need a fresh challenge. plus it is no secret that players from southern europe find it hard to adjust to the lifestyle and weather england had to offer. even if he stays i think he needs a couple of seasons to be hungry agains and plays at his potential. having that said, the guy has a big ego, i think he just love it when ppl are talking about him, nonetheless for the wrong reasons!
Only God knows….
I guess all Ronaldo needs is to be dropped for a game.
Unfortunately, our ambitions, injuries, suspension and form do not allow us to do that.
He ll be okay. But he wears the number 7 at United, there will always be a sideshow.
“But he wears the number 7 at United, there will always be a sideshow”. spot on.
i think CR7 will definitely stay next season too.but Fergie please tell him to change his on-field attitude

Sell him and make money. After making us not to enjoy our double success last season,i cant see myself loving him again even if he kisses d badge 100 times in a match.Sell him and promote Evandro Bramdao.Afterall, his name has 7 letters like his predecessors(Cantona,Beckham and Ronaldo cos i know he would be sold).I stand to be corrected.Waiting for your comment King Eric.
The real question, and given the recent news about our debts,is how much of the Roanldo money would go into transfers. If he does go though,we might want to keep the number 7 shirt vacant until someone worthy comes along. So don’t give it to Nani or Valencia. It won’t inspire them anymore.
@ Costas,
Cantona went and it was not left vacant,Beckham went, the shirt was not left vacant.Keane left and it was not left vacant.Niestrooy left and it wasn’t.Jaap Stam was sold, the only regret SAF had still his shirt went to somebody, how much more a player who is not a Man Utd fan.
Yes i know Adopted Scouser 10.There is always someone else to take over. It’s just our most famous shirt and i would like someone who is promising enough to wear it.Ronaldo was promising in 03.Oh,and i heard recently that we might retire the nimber 11 jersey after Ryan retires.I don’t know how true that is.Here is something to cheer us up for tomorrow:

If united sell ronaldo and get a ridiculous amount like 75 million then we could secure tevez, get ribery who is world class and valencia. Having these 3 instead of ronny is well worth it.
Or if ronaldo stays and puts his heart into it then united are guaranteed 25-30 goals from midfield.
Pick your favourite.
