Fergie: Valencia Has Got Everything

Sir Alex Ferguson has sung the praises of Antonio Valencia who was arguably our best player on the pitch in the 5-0 win over Wolves.

“He could be very important,” said Ferguson. “His form before he got the injury was outstanding. Now he is back we hope he stays back fit. He is such an honest, hardworking player. You get two sides to Antonio. He is prepared to work really hard. He can tackle, he can run, but he can also beat a man. He has got everything really.”

Only David Silva (12) has more assists than Valencia (11) this season, although he has started ten more games than Valencia has.

Yes thanks sir Alex and Steve B !

  2. Gorse Hill Red says:

Reminds of Kanchelskis tearing down the right wing. Shame he went to Everton but there were very dark forces responsible for that transfer.

With Valencia back I can almost smell no.20

  3. Costas says:

No coincidence that our best attacking displays come with him in the team.

  4. Swissdevil says:

maybe i am wrong on this one.. don’t get me wrong, i really like the way he plays and how powerful he is. but there is one thing that drives me crazy everytime I see him play:

He is not able to use hes LEFT foot!!! Saw him touching a ball on his left like 5 times!! I mean, isnt it necessary for a pro player to at least USE both feet?? that really makes me crazy because often it would be easier to play it left instead of doing another move or twist to get the ball on the prefered right foot…

    #justsayin…

    Lets go for the 20!

  5. keegan4england says:

    @ Costas. …………..And Scholes.

I thought Danny Welbeck had a great game. His finishing is a little disappointing but he has a good first touch, strong, always makes himself available, links up brilliantly and I see a new Thierry henry if he can just fine tune his finishing.

  6. RedHound says:

    Swissdevil,

    No its not

  7. parryheid says:

    Isn’t he a Right winger.

  8. Antipod says:

Valencia for Team of the Season !!!

  9. kanchelskis says:

    @Swissdevil

He’s adapted his game to perfection around his one-footedness to the extent it is barely noticeable. Not an issue at all.

  10. Michael Papoui says:

Valencia is incredibly quick and very direct doesn’t showboat, gets his crosses in early. Should have been man of the match. He showed all this before his long term injury, but is now easily back to his best and I think more to come, he is a bit one footed but if you’re fast enough, it’s not such a draw back.

  11. Phil Jones' Birdshit Streaks says:

Welbeck is like Bambi on ice sometimes! I love the kid, but I wish he’d stay on his feet when he gets in promising positions. Once he sorts this composure out, he’ll be a really consistent threat to our opponents.

  12. @samriley9 says:

    VALENCIA IS A MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best right sided player in world football.

  13. Doghouse says:

His weaknesses are irrelevant, such as they are, because his strengths are such that even if he doesn’t surprise the opponent he still cannot be stopped. The counter attacking goal was the best example of this. The lad takes off like a bullet from a gun to get on the end of the Rooney pass and it’s clear what’s going to happen next. But there’s nobody going to stop him.

One of the things I like best about his game is the power he has and his control of it, particularly with his crossing and finishing. He puts more power into his shots than many players can but he also gets the placement and that makes him lethal.

  14. Ambrose christian says:

Like i always say vc is that player,i will never wish he should be on the bench, atleast if not for anything but his assits.

  15. Swissdevil says:

I like the fact that he got rid from his agent because he wants to stay long time at UTD. Great attitude!

  16. RedHound says:

Kinda like Wolverine before he harnessed his power in Xavier’s school and learnt and how to use it and contain it. Welbeck is like a Bugatti without brakes, which makes it easier for defenders to bundle him over at the crucial moment. He has so much acceleration, acceleration that hasnt yet gelled with his statuesque legs. Once he learns to control it however, he’ll be devastating.

  17. Costas says:

May sound strange, as predictable as Valencia may be, he’s also unpredictable. We’ve gotten used to wingers who tend to cut inside and use either foot in recent years. He’s different. While he only used his right foot, it’s hard to tell what he will do with the ball at his feet. Will he try to get past his man, will he cross high, will he cross low, will he shoot? For example, as soon as Ronaldo started that run yesterday, I would have bet my house on him going for goal on his own. On the other hand, I thought Valencis would square it back.

Anyway, I remember saying that I was afraid the hamstring problem would halt his momentum. I forgot that this was the same guy that came back from a broken ankle as if he hasn’t missed a beat. :)

    @keegan4england

Scholes has made an impact of his own, defeinitely. We control the midfield a lot better with him and Carrick on the side. The point I made about Valencia also goes back to December. When Fergie drafted him back in the side after the Basel game and we won the next 4 games by scoring 16 goals. He’s been at the top of his game for 3 months now.

  18. creatifartiste says:

    @Swissdevil

Would you say Robben is not a world class player because he only uses his left foot? same the majority of the time with Van persie?

Valencia is a beast of a right-sided player, you can’t fault him.

  19. shakshamboo says:

Apart from his obvious talent his work rate and attitude has been so terrific that it rubs on other players.

  20. MG says:

    Fergie:

Manchester United boss has heaped praise on MG for continuing to inspire the youth of today with his words of defiance as United close in on number 20.

“No question about that” said the United gaffer at Carrington.

“The boy is remarkable you know? He writes like no one has ever written before and he’s a credit to Manchester United football club.”

  22. Costas says:

Yesterday I made fun of Tom’s absence, blaming it on another injury. It just occured to me that maybe Fergie didn’t use him because his mind wasn’t on the game after what happened to Muamba? I think they were teammates for England’s U21s?

  23. Briggsy says:

@Costas – Also might be because he played a whole 90 minutes 3 days previously after coming back from injury. Plus the Scholes and Carrick partnership is looking quite good at the minute. Takes me back a few years!

  24. Raizzen says:

Off topic. But Evans haters, may you please come and show yourselves up ?

It was sickening how somebody could call themselves United fans and openly discuss in public forums how they want the boy dropped.

    Shame on you.

  25. catotraa says:

    @ Costas 10:38

Yeah, from what I know, Tom and Fabrice has known each other for quite a while. He, Fabrice and Wilshere have formed some sort of clique in the 21′s national it seems.

Word is it’s still critical, or?.. Would be a tragedy if he we’re to pass away…

On a completely different note. How brilliant were the Wolvesfans yesterday? Did ”the wave” at 4-0 down, and cheered for each pass their team made. Terrific! And with their “booring! Booring!” chants, really cracked me up. Hope they stay afloat.

  26. MichaelPapoui says:

Valencia is very quick and very direct. He doesn’t showboat and gets his crosses in quickly. He is one footed, but with his pace it is not such a drawback..when he first came to United he looked a fantastic player until his long term injury, but now he is back to his best and I am sure will get better. He should have been man of the match against Wolves!

    Morning.

Fucking love this bloke. Absolutely tiop drawer and the best right sided player in Europe right now.

Well done Jonny son. Great to see him score and what a ball out to the wing by him too. Got loads of praise on MOTD last night and rightly so. He has been nowt short of excellent this term.

  32. Brooka says:

As a heterosexual male, I must admit I have a man crush on Antonio. I’ve admitted it to my family and my girlfriend. I can’t help it! Helps that he’s a fantastic player for us too!

  33. gora says:

with tony v back we have one hand on the trophy. I have this feeling saf is doing to nani what he did to giggs and fletcher in 2007. Got them fired up for chelsea. Think same happening to nani fo shiteh

  34. medumtum says:

As Costas stated earlier Tony V often gets labelled a limited winger but he is not. Fact is though he relies on raw peace and brilliant crossing, his simplicity belies an end product that is quite diverse. A nightmare to try and counter since his variations only seem to enhance his effectiveness. And not the least of his qualities is a selflessness when it comes goals. After the likes of Ronaldo and Nani, it really is refreshing to see a player whose choice in front of goal is not a given, and whose decision making denotes sound footballing sense. For contrast one can take a look at Walcott and the majority of his decision making. And like Giggs, in his prime, he improves the game of the strikers around him, particularly rooney, who obviously benefits whenever Tony V plays. Not to mention his defensive qualities often go unmentioned. A beast of a player.
There is nothing one can add about Scholes except restate that it is a chilling thought indeed that we still have to replace him.

  35. Costas says:

    @Briggsy

06-07? ;) Same here. They click well especially against teams where we have to maintain possession. Lets hope none of them get injured. As for Cleverley, I didn’t expect him to start for the reason you mentioned. I just found it weird that he didn’t even make the bench.

    @catotraa

Yeah, last I heard, he was still in critical condition. I can’t remember any of these instances ending up well. Hopefully Muamba will be the exception to the rule.

  36. ScholesForGoals says:

The man is a beast. To come back from the treatment room as if he never left the field each time is incredible. Arguably, the man of the match yesterday. Can’t wait to see what he’ll be like against our meeting with City next month. A true advert for the game. Keep it up Antonio!!!

I just hope Torres is wearing his scoring boots on Wednesday. Away to Stoke and a rejuvenated Arsenal too. It’s theirs to fuck up now and I for one will be hoping they do.

Shame about Mitko. Seems like SAF is clearing the way for some summer spending. But I don’t want to jinx it by speculating too much.

Buy back Prunier, Djemba Djemba and Nardiello and Barca are there for the taking. ;)

  43. samuel - united WE stand says:

Valencia has improved massively since joining the club and is arguably, the best winger in the premier league (Nani still hasn’t woke up yet). When Antonio gets moving, he’s comparable to a heavy wagon rolling off a hill, incredibly difficult to stop and has an end product to match. Amazes how a man can just slot back into the hustle and bustle of the premier league seamlessly after being out for that length that time. hope his form continues.

Youy left us speechless jeet.

  49. denton davey says:

What struck me in Sunday’s match was that Antonio Valencia is STILL reluctant to use his left foot BUT he seems to have come up with a new trick: when he should/could use his left foot, he hits the ball with the outside of his right foot to “slice” it, giving the ball the same movement as it would have with the inside of his left foot. I’d still prefer to see him use his left foot – he would become much, much, much more unpredictable if he did that on occasion.

Valencia’s “directness” is a huge asset – and so, too, are his low, hard crosses. Those crosses simply beg for a striker to make a hard, fast near-post run to flick-on the ball. (Chicharito does that best among the four guys who are considered “strikers” in this current squad.)

In ice-hockey – a sport that is not especially dis-similar to footie in terms of tactics and actions – this particular combination of pass/shoot is called “driving the net” and it creates consternation among defensive players. Essentially, it’s all about team-work and anticipation – knowing that Valencia is likely to get to the bye-line and square the low, hard cross at the near post literally invites the other forwards to make a run at the defence so as to deflect/re-direct the ball. It’s a simply tactic but a very effective one.

  55. Touché says:

But can he play in a midfield of two?

  56. samuel - united WE stand says:

Now now now, don’t get carried away. You need more than a burst of incredible pace and power to be a great central midfielder so NO, valencia wouldn’t be so effective in central midfield.

  57. James21 says:

See the cross field pass from Evans to Valencia that led to Welbecks’ goal ? If that was Messi folk would be having a wankfest now. For me though it was the Wolves corner that was cleared to Chicharito who passed to Rooney who in turn flicked the ball over the Wolves player and Valencia was away to eventually score. Cracking Goal.

He also has a Red Shirt with a Utd Badge on it. We buy players and make them World Class.
Antonio Valencia. Made at Old Trafford.

    UTD UTD UTD!

  58. Wee Toms Fragile Tendons says:

Valencia stays wide and opens up the middle for Rooney and Welbeck to run. Nani could learn a thing or two from that strategy.

  59. stpercival says:

The thing that is frightening about defending against Valencia is that you know what we will most likely do……….But You Are Powerless To Stop Him. It must be like fighting Tyson in his prime, you just knew he was going to knock you out with a right hook.

    Tony V, Tony V! Tony V oh Tony V
    Straight from Equador, Tony V.

  62. LoneStarRed says:

    TONY V MAKES THING HAPPEN!!

With that said, how much do I love this guy? Not as much as Booka :) but almost. Lest we forget, Valencia FIRED HIS AGENT because he was too greedy and a deal was stalled. As I have stated on other threads: His blistering pace, strength and DIRECT runs unnerves defenders to no end. They are forced to commit. That creates gaps for finishers to exploit which forces other defenders to cover which creates other gaps. Few defenders come to mind who can cope with him right now. In the EPL even fewer, perhaps Sagna who is a right back naturally.

I prefer him to Nani because too often lately Nani slows down the speed of play and gives defenses time to react. Yes he has pace but he is double minded about looking for chances for himself as well. With Valencia you know what you are getting: cross after cross after cross after cross. I don’t care if he ever touches with his left foot if he can keep this up. In that regard he is like Rory Delap. You know what is coming and you had better be able to stop it or you will be sorry.

  63. James21 says:

    LoneStarRed

Thats why Nani is so frustrating as a player. No doubting his talent but its his selfishness that makes him look average at times. If he’d just think about the team like Valencia does instead of going that little tackle too far or looking to shoot when the forwards are screaming for a delivery he’d be an absolutely awsum player. To be fair I think there is alot more pressure on Nani because fans expect him to be Ronaldo and that must be playing on his mind when he plays. A very good player but could be great.

  64. James21 says:

    Sam
Have to agree there. He’s good where he is so why change things? We need a central Midfielder who is a central Midfielder and not to change a player who is so dangerous on the wing, attacking oposition players and putting in decent crosses.

Dunno where this stuff comes from that Nani’s selfish. biggest bullshit I’ve ever heard. Why not fancy a shot at times? That’s what the gaffer wants from him to stay unpredicteable.

His problem is that he’s not direct enough. Takes the tempo out of the game to often and his decision making could be better.

  67. parryheid says:

Message to the Spaniards you can Fuck right off.

  68. Elliott says:

I think Valencia is so one dimensional as he has no use of a left foot.

In saying that, he is so good in that dimension it doesn’t even matter. Full backs know exactly what he is going to do, yet he still does it and they cannot stop him.

Although Nani is excellent on both feet, would much rather be playing Valencia. Nothing fancy, just beat your man and fire it into the box. Exactly what you want.

  69. sc says:

    @zelh

agree. people are always quick to criticize based on what they see, but very often they miss out the positives. look at the stats, and u find that nani often top assists.

with nani, aside from the decision making, it’s the final ball which is not gd too. he lack that consistency of delivering the balls to place that he wants it to go, something i thought valencia does better, and that’s why make scholes and beckham brilliant. but with time and composure, i suppose he could make his passing more accurate.

as for valencia, his left foot is his weakness. he has to train on it i suppose. not everyone is born double-footed. it’s just lamentable when he can’t shoot because the balls lands on his weaker foot. but i think he’s probably training it to better his game.

btw, i seem to realise that evans’ passing is quite good. or am i mistaken?

  70. James21 says:

    zelh
Nani is selfish, saying he isn’t is also Bullshit. Many times where he should have put in a cross or pass and hasn’t, only to loose the ball. Nothing wrong with a bit of selfishness but if you look at the other players they pass if the shot isn’t on or a player is in a better position. Nani doesn’t. How many times do you see Rooney and co hold up their arms and scowl at him for taking a shot that isn’t on or not passing it. Good player but very frustrating.

  71. ClaytonBlackmoresTan says:

Giggs is one dimensional, overrated and never did no good for no one dash garn it.

    One footed? Farcical.

  72. AnomanderRake says:

I think its about time that Valencia is appreciated. I watched the game yesterday here in New York with English commentary. The no. of time Valencia’s performance was highlighted : None. And then they gave the MoM award to Rooney!!! Yes, Rooney had a good game. But surely the man of the match was Valencia. Things were totally different while watching the game with spanish commentary though. They atleast really appreciate Antonio.

Judging by some comments on here, some people think he is one-dimensional because he is one-footed. He is not people!!! He is not because he has an awesome football brain. I think thats why he comes across as unselfish. His decision making on the wings is only matched by Giggs, whenever he drifts wide.

Also, the next time please notice how intelligently he varies his pace. You know he is going to run on the outside, the defender knows it, everyone knows it but no one can stop him; because he varies his pace and fakes crosses/passes/shots so well.

  73. WillieRedNut says:

Yep, Valencia has no left foot, and Nani is a selfish cunt. While we’re at it, Scholes can’t pass a ball. Giggsy’s right foot is for standing on. Berba is a lazy bastard, and Rooney is a handsome devil!

I was at the airport collecting my son after the Ajax game and the united team followed us to the car park payment machine. Since then i’ve been ‘seeing’ united players all over south Manchester – Dennis Irwin at Altrincham tesco, Valencia at the Horse & Jockey, Paddy Crerand at Coppice Avenue shops and Fletcher at Broadheath today. I think I need some treatment for my obsession

  91. Zibbie says:

A dark hostile mood over RoM, like a thick dark cloud of doubt. MG has stated a fact. RoM on RoM crime has been down for the last 6 months. Self doubt mixed with 2 parts ignorance. Sprinkle in Great Expectations. Keep away from children, do not expose to heat in excess of 105 degrees. If consumed find a nice cool place lay down if you have a cell phone call the one you love you have 3 to 5 minutes before death comes quick and violent.

  92. Zibbie says:

    Kebab, Fletch and Warick!!!!!

Wolfie when feeling in lowly way, have a run with the pack and HOWL!!!!

  93. Costas says:

    WHAT A ZIBBIE!

Your boy is pretty awful though. 5 goals and he didn’t score any of them. Ts ts ts.

  94. samuel - united WE stand says:

He’ll grow into his body? that’s great theory there zibbie.

  95. Zibbie says:

PP looks awesome. SAF sure knows how to introduce kids for the least likely hood of failure. 3-0 up even if they give a goal away the win will protect them from the press. And wont kill their development. DDG on the other hand is a keeper they have no choice to be thrown into the fire. That is why a Jones a Smalling and Pea are so open for criticism for playing so much so young.

  96. Zibbie says:

Kebab I know…. hehehehehehe and he yells at them to, he is so mean. Can’t pass, can’t shot, plays no defense, can’t lead the young kids. For the life of me I can’e understand why the great SAF plays him so much.

  97. Zibbie says:

Oh I forgot he Rooney has no trophies in 7 years.

  98. WillieRedNut says:

Good news on Muamba. Keep fighting kid.

  99. Costas says:

    @Zibbie

Lol, don’t get me started on the yelling part because it’s something I used to defend about Berbatov too. We scored right after he yelled at them, so.. ;)

I noticed that Rooney didn’t have any white tape on his ankles yesterday. If I was a Daily Mail reporter, I would make an article about how he has to wear them each game because that’s the only way he can score.

  100. Zibbie says:

Sammy, I see him growing into his body in the next 3 years. He still has much growing and filling out to do. If you have been around lads from 14 to 19 they go through a growth spurt and get clumsy, run into shit all the time. SAF even said it like 20 months ago when he lent him out. And at 23 and on becoming on of the worlds 10 best strikers and can become a top 5 striker. He has an all around game and plays his ass of on defense.

  101. FletchTHEMAN says:

    OFF TOPIC:
Reports suggest Muamba is speaking again and heart working on its own. As you all probably know. That lad owes his life to the medical teams and quick action heart completely off line but CPR probably started under 2 minutes. That is the only reason that lad has a chance of avoiding serious long term mental impairments.

    http://m.skysports.com/article/sports//7609543

  102. Zibbie says:

Yes talking it is so great!

  103. Zibbie says:

So spot on Fletch. So his brain should not be damaged!!!!

  104. Zibbie says:

I heard on Sky, some Dr in the stands said send him to a hospital that specialized in cardiac care some 10 min further away that was a great call. His time was not that day.

  105. Zibbie says:

OK this might not be bright to type here. BUT ANYWAY.

If some 8 1/2 years ago if SAF did not sign Rooney and signed nobody or 1, 2, 3 other players for the same amount Rooney cost, would Man Utd be fighting for 20? A lad from the blue side of Liverpool?

  106. Lee Martins winner says:

i remember Ruud van goal machine saying that he would score goals based on becham getting the ball and crossing early. He could plan his runs. They may know what valencia will do, but if im a striker I would rather play with a player I can read…..

Nani has greater talent, but valencia is more affective…… but great options to have.

  107. AbuSaad says:

    @swissdevil
No disrespect mate but Maradona was exclusively left footed and he didn’t do to bad as a footballer :-)

  108. James21 says:

    zibbie
Are you trying to beat the 450+ comments on the Bilbao defeat thread. :D

Go Zibbie Go Zibbie Go Zibbie.

Rooney is a work horse made and had a part in the goals yesterday. He might be Scouse But he’s OUR Scouse.
Also have to say. Wolves fans were fantastic, had plenty of banter between the fans without the sick references to Munich. 10/10 Wolves Fans.

  109. Zibbie says:

Stir the pot man! I missed being here after a game.

  110. Zibbie says:

I truly believe with all my being, without Rooney or even if he was replaced by 1 or 2 great players. Man Utd would not have won 4 of 5 PL titles and a bad call from 5 in a row and 4 points clear and going for 20. This is what I would like people to consider when they might not understand why his peers and all top gaffers thinks he is the worlds 3rd of 4th best player.

  111. Zibbie says:

At 3-0 at half of the Wolves game. Rooney knew it was more important that Lil Pea get a brace not him for the teams good. And he is fine with that. That is what adds to his greatness.

  112. FletchTHEMAN says:

Zibbie, not saying the lad Muamba was that lucky. Probably won’t know for quite awhile if he as escaped serious harm. Just saying the medics gave him as good a chance as could be hoped for.

Still very likely he will never play again and serious risks of secondary attacks and strokes.

If any are up to Bolton tomorrow they will open the Reebok for a fan vigil. Would be nice to see some United shirts as sign of solidarity. This kind of thing transcends rivalry for me.

Whats up you lazy fuckers! ha ha

The Devil is back….. Not been able to post for a couple of reasons, damn not having internet at home is terrible. Cheating Lebanese bastards….

Best wishes to Muamba and his family.

Feels great to be top of the league…

    UNITED

  114. Zibbie says:

Great read Willie, SAF loves working class people.

  115. Zibbie says:

    TREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    HELLO MY FRIEND!!!!

  116. CedarsDevil says:

    My Dick!

Hello buddy, hope all is well. The lad Rooney isn’t bad eh? But what about Evans? Some of his passes put Scholes to shame! ha ha

Now where are Alcohol, The Noise, Mike, Giggs12 and ffs smartalex?

  117. James21 says:

    Cedars
450+ is the target. About time you got off your lazy ass and started posting. All this shit about no tinternet. By the way Utd beat Wolves 5-0 and Evans was my MOTM (Probably on a parr with Tony V). You know the one, that lad who isn’t Utd quality. His overall play and calmness bringing the ball out and thinking were he was putting it rather than just punting it upfield. It was his crossfield pass to Tony V for the Welbeck goal that had us all buzzing. Jonny ‘ Bestie,Ronaldo, Messi’ Evans has a new found confidence. Some of us knew he had it in him.

  118. CedarsDevil says:

By the way, how good were our away supporters on Sunday, again? Best away support in the world, not to mention that The Noise was there…That on its own is enough to guarantee great vocals….

  119. King Eric says:

Valencia is all the things people have mentioned. Powerful, fast. direct AND one footed but his best strength is his use of the ball. You very rarely see him give it away or lose it. One dimensional my arse.

  120. Capitano says:

I’ve seen somewhere on a French journal asking what will happen to English football when Ferguson retire, cause not only he bring up players for small clubs in EPL, but also identify foreign players to be signed by big EPL clubs. So guys we’re not the only ones worried, Dogleash and Mankini too are scared . Lol!

  121. King Eric says:

Probably get stick for this but I was surprised Rooney got motm yesterday. Second half he was better but in my opinion I actually thought he was quite poor yesterday. I like Rooney as folk know but I lost count of how many times he attempted little 10 yard passes and gave the ball away. Valencia was MOM by a distance.

  122. CedarsDevil says:

    Another spooky moment on RoM!

Earl of Sandwich aka The Noise

I never doubted Evans, remember that season where we had that run of clean sheets? He was at the heart of it…. He seemed to have lost his confidence for a while but now he is back…. Class act, I bloody love him.

  123. King Eric says:

Costas – Hello mate. Hope you are well. So THAT was why Rooney somehow looked different yesterday. No white tape. I knew there was summat different about him but didnt realise it was that. Well spotted pal.

  124. Zibbie says:

Cedars knows me well, I’m a big Johnny Be Good fan.
All is well mate, $ points UP!!!!

  125. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

How have you been my friend and how is wee Tom and Ruth?

Need us one of your trade mark rants, please….anything will do, just rant away.

  126. Zibbie says:

KE never sick of your thinking man.

  127. King Eric says:

Hey up Cedars. How’s tricks? Right off home now.

Yeah where are AntiScouser and KR et al?

  128. Zibbie says:

    4 points hehe.

  129. Capitano says:

Is it true that Barcelona want the twins ?

  130. King Eric says:

Cedars – Typed that comment before I saw your post to me. Yes good thanks my friend. 3 months old now. Time has flown. A rant will come in due course. I am mellowing in my old age. I am sure I will get pent up about summat shortly!

    Zibbie – Thanks alot mate!

  131. King Eric says:

Capitano – I very much doubt it!

  132. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

Was reading through my phone but could not post…… Fucking negative cunts sicken me, ungrateful twats the lot of them.

    My Dick

Get your mind of the dollar sign pal! ha ha

  133. King Eric says:

Hello James. Hope you are well. Haven’t been in touch as your number in old phone. Didnt hear back when I texted new number. Can’t text you Cedars as my phone bill was astronomical! Will leave my email though tomorrow when get a minute.

    Alright Fletch?

Great news about Muamba. Again I may get stick for this but did you see the fucking scousers yesterday with their Muamba banners? Now some will say nice gesture. The cynic in me says it was just ANOTHER PR stunt by the dippers to look like the lovely friendly club they are. We know what you really.

  134. King Eric says:

    *are*

  135. Zibbie says:

KE that is what I said KR Anti????????????

KE I saw that as well, another slant. He was forcing the tight 1 2 tight space play. When WR10, Teves, Giggs and CR7 played well together. many passes off legs, feet they swarmed hustled and played for deflections of advantage. Once an opening presented itself they would pounce. At the time Carrick, Scholes, Fletch and Andro as well a speeder Rio and Vida cleaned up well. Got the ball back they might loss with some sloppy play.

  136. Lee Martins winner says:

saw that city were watching hazard yesterday, some talk of chucking stupid money his way! we watch him and city go over the top with stupid money……..
not saying we need him or we are interested, but if he did tell city to fuck off and say United are for me, then It would be a good start to his United career!

  137. Costas says:

    @King Eric

Hi mate. I am good thanks. Hope you are well too. It’s funny, but it’s one of those footballer nitpicks I tend to notice. Some players like to tape their ankles. Rooney is one of them. Solskjaer was another. And since our socks are black, you tend to notice when that’s not the case.

I agree about your motm comment. I didn’t think Rooney played bad or anything. He was just in that pull the strings role in midfield (something that seems to work in away games for us) and it was other players that stood out more. Like Valencia.

Evans did a solid job in defence too. If you notice, he was playing close to Rafael in case Jarvis got the beating of him.

  138. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

Told you before mate, you are never obliged to respond. Texts from here cost next to nothing and I enjoy sending them. I have a cracking time with James on a daily basis, some of the jokes we share are hilarious, he is funny as fuck

  139. Zibbie says:

SAF who ever he may get they will be speedy fuckers, to match the pieces waiting to explode. By this time next year the Twins, DDG, Dan, TC, Jones, Smalling, PP, Tunni, Fryer, Petuccci will have another year to have matured. Rooney will enter the season at 26 just entering hid prime. Vida back a new striker, winger, defender as well!!!!

  140. CedarsDevil says:

    Chief Medic Costas

How have you been my good Greek friend? A question for you, how does our points tally at this stage of the season compare with previous title winning seasons?

  141. Zibbie says:

Rooney as a child wanted to be Geppeto the sting puller of Pinocchio.
This is where he is happiest as a player. So in like 5 years at 31 to 38 he will become the true great player at his favorite spot, string puller of the MF.

  142. Zibbie says:

Tree they broke that down on another thread. only once in the PL have they reached 70 so fast.

  143. Zibbie says:

In 5 years a PP, Jones, TC and Rooney MF………….

  144. Mikekelly12 says:

Cedars you fanny munching fucker. Internet issues my arse, you’ve been unconscious after another round of peach schnapps with your good lady!!

  145. Lee Martins winner says:

Zibbie, you might have something there, maybe thats why we have not bought an attacking midfielder.

    the future: 4 2 3 1

    DDG
    Raf, evans, smalling, fabio
    Jones, poggy
    Valencia, rooney, welbeck
    Chicharito

    Not a bad team!

  146. fergie is the boss says:

jones will never be a CM, he is a CB

  147. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

Evening all just popped after finally losing my erection over Valencia Rooney and schools. Anyone would have thought I had popped 30 viagras.

Glad to see all the positive reds enjoying being top of the table. Where have all the negative cunts disappeared to? I though SAF was shit, our midfield is shit, Scholes is past it, Da Gea is shite, the twins are shit, Evans is shit, wellbeck is shit, the pea is shit? Not fucking bad hey……

  148. wacky27 says:

The most important thing as winger is end product. Valencia always provides the end product from his wing play. i agree with several poster here that says he is not one dimensional. i don’t care he can’t use his left foot as long as he delivers the end product. he is great winger to have and possesses pace and power. He can beat his marker from standstill position. Many wingers e.g. walcott, lennon, downing don’t have that quality.

Evans > Gerard Pique. Evans has improved drastically this year. he is composed defender. always keep things simple and can read the game well. Glad to see him recieve acknowledgement he deserves.

Welbeck on left flank offers acceleration and pace. he and rooney can switch position seamlessly in the game and it made defenders confused. he need to work in his composure though.

  149. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike!

Ha ha ha…… Happy for you with that England win, sure you fluked it though. The good lady was not well pleased to be honest, called you lot all sorts!

  150. Zibbie says:

Lee you have Carrick to tutor for years and Scholes and Giggs now teaching them as well. Look the fuck out I see that with one always staying a little deeper then the other. They both are great a bursting forwar with over laping fb to have 8 in attack

  151. MG says:

    Peach Schnapps

    Evening Manchester United ;)

  152. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

Ps who the fuck is schools

  153. Lee Martins winner says:

I agree he seems more suited to cb atm, but I could see him play a holding midfield if he works on his positioning. good engine, workrate, strong, good tackler. all the physical attributes. time will tell buddy

  154. CedarsDevil says:

    Giggs12

    You fucking beauty

  155. Zibbie says:

    Giggs12Gerrard0 says:
Evening all just popped after finally losing my erection over Valencia Rooney and schools. Anyone would have thought I had popped 30 viagras.

ME 2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What many saw as loose passing by Rooney I saw as pushing the issue. Some were loose hehe. Thats the point, it can be OK when people swarm.

  156. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

Alright cedars me old China plate who the fuck are we.

United top the league united united top of the league

  157. Mikekelly12 says:

    Giggs12
You shouldn’t be getting erections over schools mate, you’ll have the old bill round!

  158. Zibbie says:

A guy named Paul by his parents. He schools all who get in his way. A Freudian type-O-!

  161. CedarsDevil says:

Why good evening MG, how is the health my friend?

  162. Zibbie says:

    Time to eat BBL!!!!!!

  163. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

Scholes or schools either way its a football education by the ginger prince.

Zibbie ignorance mate by people who refuse to let go. Rooney was class again his passing is as good as scholes, there I said it and it is. World class

  164. wacky27 says:

I really think that we need someone to cover Carrick. I hope Pogba can fill that role. we need a disciplined midfielder to shield the defense. With Fletcher being ill, i can not see another midfielder who have experience to fill Carrick’s role atm if he is injured. Regarding Jones as midfielder, i think he lacks awareness as DM like carrick. i think he is suited as CB as heir of Vidic. he has pace and good tackling ability. however, he needs to work on his aerial ability and reading the game.

  165. JC says:

IMO, and this takes nothing away from the ability of any of the other players, we now have 4 indespensible players on our team: Carrick (dominating the midfield passing lanes, controling the opponent’s countering ability), Jonny (owns the box and now carrying the ball up and dropping 50 yard cross field passes onto Tony’s foot), Wayne (our talisman, even when he doesn’t score he makes everyone else better) and Tony (beast, what else can you say, no back in the Prem wants to face him 1 on 1 right now) ok maybe 5 including Scholes but I don’t think he can play 90 of every game. If we make it through the run out with those 4 (or 5) playing every game we will win out.

  166. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike / Giggs12

Here is the thing….. We need at least 45 new players in the summer. Being 4 points clear at this stage is pathetic, should be 12. Also putting 5 past Wolves was ridiculous, should have been 15….

Fergie or is it faggie? Has lost it, bring in AVB asap

  167. JC says:

I was remiss in not adding De Gea to the list, his blossoming and command of the area has turned our early season weakness into a great strength going into the home stretch. Even against the wolves he pulled off a couple of great stretching saves on a couple of testers.

  168. Mikekelly12 says:

Carrick is shit!!! Where is KR?

  169. Costas says:

    @Cedars

Hi mate. Hope you are well. As for your question, the only season where we had a better points tally than this after 29 games was 06-07. We had 72 then. I also read somewhere that United became the first EPL side to score 70+ goals after 29 games.

  170. Nabi says:

Bring back view from the enemy.

  171. MG says:

    Cedars

Much better – but there was a time last week when MG needed the Lebanese touch…

Not to worry – I got the temperature touch instead to the max! All better – not there yet but watching hometown Wolves getting smashed was very good for the soul ;)

    19

  172. wacky27 says:

    @ JC.
well said mate. they will be the backbone of next year team. The other young players like TC, Jones, Smalling and Pogba also gain experience and showed moments of brilliance this year. by the time they matured, they can deliver it more consistently.

  173. James21 says:

    Giggs
Hi mate. The crowd were chanting for you again mate.

    Giggsy 12 Gerrard 0

  174. CedarsDevil says:

    MG

I gathered, just a pity I could not post….. However remember this Cedars is always looking after you from a far!

    Costas

Cheers, so we are not as shit as some claim?

  175. FletchTHEMAN says:

Reports are that JT has been interviewed saying he wants to beat cittay because it helps CSKALondon in fight for 3rd and it helps us. He reportedly said United were more deserving !!

Anyone have a link to this?

    Mr Ambition ;)

  176. JC says:

A few stats for the season:

Most Goals Scored 73 Manchester United
Highest Goals Scored Average 2.52 Manchester United
Fewest Goals Conceded 20 Manchester City
Fewest Goals Conceded Average 0.71 Manchester City
Highest Goal Difference 49 Manchester City
Most Clean Sheets 14 Manchester United
Fewest Games Failed to Score 1 Manchester United

Had we been a little less generous earlier in the season or in those little slips such as against Spurs when we gifted a single consolation we’d be up on GD too. But then again had we been that bit less generous in mid-season we’d be running away on pts as well… :D

  177. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Costas

First team to 70 points this season
First team since 62/63 Rovers to win 3 away matches by a margin of 5-0 and first United team ever to manage it.
First team in EPL era to 70 goals after only 29 games

Ya mate, we must be crap then

  178. MG says:

    Ah Cedars

    You’re a true mate ;)

  179. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

How are you mate, that song will never be sung again come may and it won’t be because that scouse cunt has won one either.

  180. Mikekelly12 says:

    JC
Only got ourselves to blame for slack goals we’ve conceded. BUT, if it wasn’t for that dozy cunt of a linesman against Newcastle we’d be 6 points clear and only 2 goals behind!! Cunting prick!

  181. CedarsDevil says:

    Bit of non footy trivia…….

Name the song and artist and receive a Cedars special

  182. JC says:

Absolutely correct Mike, terrible decision, been praying all season that it doesn’t come back and cost us and finally at this point no one else can lose us the title, we control our destiny.

  183. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Enough of the revisionist nonsense about being happy not to score. Too much Windy City deep dish pizza has clouded your Rooney colored glasses. Wazza was desperate to score near the end and he had a quality shot on goal which he curled around a defender but the goalie just got. Over all he played his usual very effective game and was instrumental in all aspects but MOM goes to TONY V.

Pogba isn’t a carrick and won’t provide similar services, i think he has the potential to be a better player. pogba seems a box to box player. technically gifted, strong, good aerially and can strike a thunderbolt when he hits a shot accurately. Certainly not the finished article and has more improvements to make (which hopefully he will). I thought his playing days at united were numbered after all the endless rumours but things seems to have been galvanised and looks like he’ll sign a new contract hopefully soon, That should settle him to slot into the first team. With more confidence, he’ll do more.

    ………..Messi………Rooney………….
    …….RVP ……Gomez…..Ronaldo…….

  235. samuel - united WE stand says:

In that squad of cunts, i wonder where andy carroll and his frankiestein long lost brother henderson fit into? are they sheeps that will cut the grass?

  236. Sparkz says:

Pogba’s basically everything Anderson should/could be. Not a pure defensive mid….not a pure attacking mid. A box to box. Got the energy and tackling ability to win the ball in his own half….can drive forward with the ball….and can pass it as well.

Take a look at those attributes I just mentioned though. Does that not describe Anderson as well as Pogba lol? Unfortunately, he seems to have gone backwards.

With regards to Pogba, I’m not too convinced by his intentions. People thought that coz he’s been in the last 3 squads, he must have agreed to sign. But Fergie himself said that “he’s still making his mind up.” So clearly we’re playing him to try and persuade him to sign.

My worry is that he’s using these appearances to effectively advertise his services to potential suitors. And come the end of the season, he’ll stick 2 fingers up at the club and go somewhere else. Maybe I’m just being a pessimist lol, but until the club say he’s signed his contract, I shall be suspicious.

  237. JC says:

Top wengers in europe? I’d have to say Arsene…

Now as to top whingers, I’d have to say Pool fans with City fans a close 2nd…

  238. JC says:

    …I’ll get me coat.

  239. samuel - united WE stand says:

If pogba is using these appearances to advert himself for “Potential suitors” then he isn’t well at that at all, hasn’t done anything out of this world just yet.

Fergie clearly isn’t a mug so why would let some rookie hold him to ransom? he has shown his ruthlessness before and will show it again if he has to so your theory is invalid. Fergie wouldn’t let him anywhere near the first team if pogba was still FUCKING about.

Thirdly, anderson always seems to have the term “Only if” “would be” “could be” and that kind of inconsistent players do not make an impact at the highest level. in the 5years the brazilian has been at the club, he has done nothing noteworthy and when he has one or two good games, he crawls back into his shell. injuries are a mainstay in football but the state he returns in to don the shirt of united is beyond awful, almost like a pig locked into a small shoe-box in order to suffocate. Fergie sees something in him and what that is I do not know, i’ll leave that to the scot-man though.

  240. Sparkz says:

That’s what I’m banking on, the fact that Fergie’s no mug. BUT, the West Brom game was over a week ago, and the club haven’t confirmed anything. As I said, the Gaffer himself said Pogba’s still making his mind up. Only thing I can think of is that he’s agreed to stay, but his agent is still pissing about over the finances.

As for Anderson….”A pig locked into a small shoe box in order to suffocate” hahaha I’m actually cracking up at that. I have to admit I thought this could be his season, as it was the first time he had a proper pre season. Started off well but had a serious dip, both in terms of form and fitness.

I’ve lost hope of him being a regular first teamer, but I’d definitely keep him at the club as a squad player. Simply because what he offers can be invaluable, in terms of that ability to beat a man. Games like Bilbao/Barca are actually tailor made for him IMO….he’s one of the few midfielders at the club who can handle when teams press us….coz he’s got the ability to carry the ball 15-20 yards. The one thing which Scholes and Carrick lack.

He’s also got this ability to make a good impact when he comes off the bench. It’s probably coz his fitness levels are so poor that he only looks good in 20 minute bursts, but plenty of times I’ve seen him come on late in the game and raise the tempo.

  241. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

I think Progba will leave United at the end of the season. My sticky balls are tingling !

    :???:

  242. zelh says:

If Fergie wouldn’t be 100% sure that Pogba stays he would never ever let him play.

Btw. looks like we signed a pre-contract with Nathaniel Clyne for the summer. But still have to pay a tribunal fee of 3m pounds.

  243. WillieRedNut says:

You’ve been ogling your neighbour again, papii.

  244. samuel - united WE stand says:

  245. Sparkz says:

If that story about Clyne is true, wonder what that means for the twins?….

Of course, provided they stay fit, I can see one of the twins maybe taking over the “Park Ji Sung role”….the high energy player brought in for the big games to give us legs (plus they’ve got more technical ability than he does).

  246. zelh says:

What should that mean for the twins? Fabio is LB anyway.
Rafa is a starter atm and rightly so. But we need some cover. I fucking hate to see Smalling on the wing trying his best instead of him being in the center where is actually is at his best.
Clearly Jones can do a good job there but it’s not his natural position.

If we sign Clyne we have cover for Rafa which is good.

  247. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

The FA have confirmed that the Dubious Goals Committee will award both of Fernando Torres’ goals to Leicester City as own goals. Fernando Torres was not available to comment and Chelsea FC said
“We will issue a statement during Friday’s press conference”.

Manager John Terry has backed Leicester City to find the net more often for his club.

    Full article found on: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2116159/Torres-ladyboy-stripped.html

  248. zelh says:

Now we should look for a new LB and midfielders pls.

  249. samuel - united WE stand says:

Sparkz – you’re right regarding anderson. all the attributes of a fine box to box midfielder but seems to lack any consistency, that’s why we’re still discussing and having doubts about him. I’ve heard a lot about his injuries but so have many players. compared to nani, he has fallen way behind in terms of development (maybe queiroz could have helped). People forget he has been here for five years and he hasn’t had any stand out season out of them all. like you say, being a squad player probably awaits him as i can’t see him ever becoming that player we thought he could be.

Regarding paul popba, i’m no body language expert but during all these rumours, he has shown an exemplary attitude on and off the pitch, didn’t throw a tantrum when Fergie threw him off the team which shows he does want to stay. His agent is probably stil stirring things but hopefully he’ll officially sign soon.

  251. NBI Red Onion says:

Anyone who thinks Valenicia is a predictable player is watching on another planet – have you actually seen how many times defenders have no idea what he is going to do next !!!! – he has everything in his locker – dribbles, tricks, turns, best close control on par with Scholes, passing vision, weight of pass, pass and move, can bring down long balls, defend tackle, intercept, read play, pace, score goals with headers, volley, feet, in or outside the box, take corners, take free kicks, interchange with attacking players, hold off defenders, drive commitment, resiliance, consistancy …. what more do you want?

Also is better than most two footed players, he can use his left foot and has scored with it, its just not as good but then look at Becks.

  252. NBI Red Onion says:

Off topic – I feel Chelsea and City will draw and this title, as SAF has so long prepared for, could actually come down to goal difference.

The player we cannot afford to lose is Rio. Without him our defence leaks goals left right and centre.

    Jeet

Thats because you are cunt, so you have to play this is my team of cunts :-)

  308. Mikekelly12 says:

    Jeet
Fuck off to Argentina for 3 months. Giggs12 will say you’ll never play for RoM cunts again then reinstate you as captain!

  309. TheCANTONA says:

    @costas:
yes bring back sachu, goat, redscot, kr, captaink9 we need them to “warming” this place now :)
BTW, How could people forget to add berties duo; micah richards & vincent kompany into their XI Cunts? richards for his moral victory bollocks, his premature goal celebration last week &kompany “in our head we’re win” (do head surgery u mong!)

  310. King Eric says:

    “Craig Neckallamy ”

“Joey Barton – fucking thug with his gay little quif ”

Keep them coming Gaz you nutcase.

  311. King Eric says:

Lads I would be fucking shit in midfield. I couldn’t run a bath let alone a game. Too many fags. I would be fucked after five minutes!

  312. Costas says:

Skysports’ twitter just reported that the CLLC is out of tomorrow’s game. Yeah, I think I’ll pin my hopes on Stoke then…

  313. Jeet says:

@Mikekelly12 : The manager is treating me like a dog!!!
    ……………
    ……………
    ……………

…the manager is my bitch!!

  314. Jeet says:

Or, to regirgitate an old Watson gag, the manager says my position is untenable. He’s all wrong – I keep telling you my position right back!

  315. Jeet says:

    ohh, damn the typos…

  316. gaz says:

my pleasure King Eric plenty more abuse where that came from!

  317. Zibbie says:

LoneStar Red oh I agree, Tony was MOTM for me, I was just noting Rooney was happy with how the game unfolded and after 3, 4-0 sure Rooney wanted to score and I loved that curling shot. That was after all the other were involved and the game was won. Sure Rooney would love a hat trick every game, but not if the team does not win Silverware. I must read many more post now BRB>

  318. WillieRedNut says:

    He’s looney for Rooney! :)

  319. Zibbie says:

    You got that right!

  320. Zibbie says:

In the US on my Comcast from Chicago is replaying the Man Utd vs Wolves in HD this afternoon.

  321. Zibbie says:

I would be a power forward who is quick but lacks speed, good in the air and a poacher extraordinaire, like Robin of the Hood the kings deer would be mine. And I would get a Red card every 3rd game.

  322. Zibbie says:

Oh to have Tony back for the run in, gives me a peace in my soul, knowing now 20 is surely within grasp.

  323. Zibbie says:

    Come on Rent Boyz,

  324. samuel - united WE stand says:

United invite 3 brazilians for trial. with our record with the samba boys, surely one of them will transform into romario.

  325. Zibbie says:

SAF has been shopping hard, he has a list, he is checking it twice. Looking for physical talent, and a mental toughness to make it at the WORLDS LARGEST SPORTING CLUB!!! $hity and the Rent Boyz chase and spy on Man Utd scouting department, they have private eyes following the gaffers brother were ever he goes. And bid on what they think SAF wants. So much misinformation this time of year, but SAF does have a short list, we will see soon enough. Clyne has been mentioned and fits the age profile and if he is English all the better to meat the British player quota.

  326. Zibbie says:

SAF hands have been freed for the British youth and no more 90 mile radius thing. Man Utd has set up with the Dutch club to get young South American talent work permits and first choice of the lads after a year or 3 of development and having established the work permit needs.

I read back with Fletch’s illness that leaves Carrick as the only established CM if he goes down, sure Scholes might sign for next year but that’s for 22 to 27 games. If SAF has chose to let’s Anderson go then a cm might come in if not? A FB, Winger and Striker might come.

  327. Zibbie says:

My balls itch, therefore I am.

  328. CedarsDevil says:

    Giggs12

Nice team of cunts you have there, thanks for picking me boss!

    Gaz

You nut case, that was fucking hilarious

  329. FletchTHEMAN says:

Jeet/Costas CLLC??? Sorry, can’t keep up (hangs head). Assume it is some piss take for JT ??

If you are talking about JT (His Royal Knobness is my preferred moniker as of reading it this am

But honestly, am starting to love the -lico aspersions to the tie.

    El Cashlico
    El Chavlico (personal favorite)
    El Plastico

I am prepared to be laughing my socks off…. hoping for some red blooded challenges as well. Rooting for CSKA Landon on this one. Who knew ?!

Sure you could have guessed……

  330. CedarsDevil says:

    My Dick

We need the tranny and side show bob in top form for tomorrow.

  331. Zibbie says:

Gaffer I will play anywhere you need me. Your dick has become a cunt in your control.

  332. CedarsDevil says:

    FletchTHEMAN

    Captain Leader Legend Cunt CLLC

  333. Zibbie says:

Side Show Bob, stand up and play defense first then make your runs. I hope DD is in one of his moods, the type we know all to well.

  334. Zibbie says:

When Danny Welbeck, becomes Dan the Man Welbeck. I see him some 7 to 12 lbs heavier and an inch taller and his feet are under him and his mind slows the game down a bit, look the fuck out a world class striker with a chance to be in the worlds best 5 strikers that runs his ass off on defense as well.

  335. Jeet says:

@FletchTHEMan: “His Royal Knobness” had me in fucking splits :)

  336. Jeet says:

@Zibbie: That was profoundly existential :)

  337. Zibbie says:

    Jeet Thanks man.

  338. King Eric says:

Its been FIVE Days since a “proper ” post was put on here by Scott, not just paper quotes. And folk wonder why shit loads of regulars are fucking off in their droves. This was THE best United blog about , thats why it attracted my attention in 07 but of late it has been dogshit. Sorry but thats how I see it. No doubt some will tell me not to bother coming on but I do still in the hope Scott may have done a decent new thread. Alas no.

  339. LoneStarRed says:

    @ Zibbie and all

Welbeck is gojng the same course as Fletcher. Some day soon everyone will go “WOW this guy is awesome.” He is very underrated as a passer and must continue to develop.

Zibbie is SAF is nothing if not a strategic thinker. HE will well be aware to not compromise his intended targets. I look at how this team is shaping up and methinks we are building a well oiled machine for WORLD DOMINATION.

  340. LoneStarRed says:

Zibbie is right is what I meant.

  341. FletchTHEMAN says:

    FT 3-2 Stoke v MUFC U18
United U18 went down to defeat after going down by 3. There was an exciting come back with the academy lads clawing back 2 in the last 20 minutes. Pierluigi Gollini, the youngster we signed from Fiorentina last year, got a debut in goal for the Reds.

    http://www.manutd.com/en/Players-And-Staff/The-Academy/Academy-News/2012/Mar/academy-stoke-v-manchester-united-report.aspx

Costas: Ha ha ha. I had heard that one to be fair. Cheers!

  342. samuel - united WE stand says:

Maybe.. just maybe The owner of the blog actually has to live his life and make a living rather than sit in front of a laptop all day conjuring up ideas to satisfy posters. I think he updates it more often than not. I’m just saying how i see it.

On welbeck, anyone with a footballing knowledge (i know there are many half-wits out there) would realise how talented he is. He’s technically gifted and brings flair and a whole different dimension to United’s attack. Yes he should improve his finishing but that will come with time and composure.

Thirdly, why do people keep calling this current united team ‘average’?. Yes we aren’t the finished article by all means and some massive improvements is required in certain key aspects of the team (recovering our european form, controlling games e.t.c) but we aren’t average and have room for improvement.

  343. Zibbie says:

LSR spot on as per the norm, imo. “strategic thinking” I thought of this last week and remember how you phrase your thoughts, me thinks you ave military training as a member of the Armed Services or as some trained consultant or military historian of a sort. People can loose way with shot term tactical miss step. This does not mean long term strategic thinking. This ability to keep your head when kayos surrounds you. Is a attribute of ER Dr’s ETM’S, good military leaders, top sporting players in any sport.. A trained mind is meant to have reactions to things freeing it up to see what is, the zone for an NBA player who can not miss a shot, an in form player. Also a good CEO ect. ect..

  344. Zibbie says:

    Low blood sugar, hehe
People can loose way with shot term tactical miss step. This does not mean long term strategic thinking.

People can loose there way with a short term tactical miss step by over reacting and change there long term goals and plans. This does not mean your long term thinking is wrong.

    hahaha

  345. Zibbie says:

No food, to much coffee and been high for 3 hours already, and still have a sore throat and a bug in my chest.

  346. theboogeyman says:

    Right folks I’m back again.

Where do I fit in the RoM team? Left out? :P

Yeah the quality of RoM has gone down a bit, it was brilliant in 07-08 and the next 2 seasons after. These last two seasons it’s gone down, but I reckon the comments and commenters are still the same, if not better.

Some folks on here are missed though, but none more so than suhayl before a Liverpool game.

  347. samuel - united WE stand says:

With the idiotic comedians that keep swarming All over talksports and pundits like cunt-dy who has as much footballing knowledge as a slug flushed down the toilet, i really pity england.. i really do.

  348. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Breaking:
    Sky Sports Mobile ‏
Chelsea have confirmed midfielder Jacob Mellis (U21 and England U21 left back) has left the club after setting off a smoke grenade at the training ground.

Cole shoots someone and now Mellis is setting smoke grenades? Cobham must be just the place to send your sons/husbands for a bit of training then. But how is is a smoke grenade worse than bringing a rifle?

    Confused…..

  349. Zibbie says:

No average team for me. A team in transition from some all time greats retiring and playing at 37, 38 years old and 2 health casualties. Still last year won the PL and were the best of the rest in the CL. Things get regurgitated by lazy jurnos and over used miss used long after what ever pertinence is long gone.

  350. Zibbie says:

    Off for a lunch.

  351. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

Evening pal…. Spot on regarding the blog, whilst I agree with Samuel that Scott of course does have a life outside the blog, but this place is also part of his life.

I would honestly suggest that STR asks some of the posters here to write up articles on a regular basis and we have plenty of excellent writers, Stateside, Denton, MG, Balaji and many more. That would make it more interesting and would open up more debates.

    theboogeyman

How have you been young man? Hope all is well my friend

  352. samuel - united WE stand says:

people take this blog too seriously. “Quality has dropped” – i don’t get it, it’s primarily a public blog open to anyone, i don’t think any quality can be measured because of various opinions which you probably don’t like. I post one or two post and get the fuck off it, no nostalgic crap.

  353. Costas says:

    @King Eric

Hi mate. Like I said earlier, with our schedule being lighter from now on, I wouldn’t expect plenty of new threads. But I do agree that it should be updated more often. And I am not talking about a Fergie quote or a Rooney quote. I mean by Scott’s personal take on a match, a player or a development at our club. Scott’s view on United matters was the first thing that drew me to this blog.

  354. YorYor says:

Ask carBANGrick. He was so damn sure Carrick isn’t United quality. It’s people like him who adamantly call the team average and poorest team seen for a while.

  355. FletchTHEMAN says:

UEFA announce that the 2014 Champions League final will be held at Benfica’s Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.

Booking my flights and rooms tomorrow! Get in U reds. ;)

  356. WillieRedNut says:

I think this blog started going down hill, when Cedars came back yesterday. He he.

  357. CedarsDevil says:

    YorYor

Haha.where did you drag that piece of shit from?

  358. YorYor says:

Don’t know… hah. Samuel was asking that, and somewhere up there, people were writing about Carrick and asking where all those criticising the team went… and that name just had to stand out.

  359. YorYor says:

What are the chances they’d play the CL Final in Singapore? Zero? Damn. But one can dream.

  360. CedarsDevil says:

    Samuel

I agree with you to a large extent, yes its a public forum, anyone can come on, post whatever they like then piss off. Everyone has an opinion and rightly so.

To me however this place is very personable, reason being is that I have made a lot of friends on here, most that I am in touch with outside the blog, be it via phone, texts or emails. Its the only related United blog that I read or even post on so I care for the place. Hell I only visit our official site once every 2 weeks!

  361. Costas says:

    @Fletch

Nice. Bebe returns to his home country to win the big one with United! :D

  362. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie

Ha ha you Irish nut….. Just me I guess, I ruin things!

  363. Costas says:

    @boogeyman

The quality of the blog was definitely at an all time high in 08-09. That’s when I joined. ;)

Ah suhayl. My favorite trash talker in here. No scouser dared to comment. I miss Drew Vader as well. We had our disagreements about Berbatov, but he was one of those sceptics you could have a serious conversation with.

  364. samuel - united WE stand says:

Zibbie – The reason why they call this team average is because of comparisons with previous united teams. Meaning we should never move on and actually build a new team, these bitter bastards still underestimate this team and that’s great because it piles more pressure on city. A.B.Us and their ignorance never fail to ammuse.

  365. FletchTHEMAN says:

Honestly, What gives with Cobham smoke bomb story? We were on it for days when Cole shot the schoolboy. Think this is funny as all! Be printing up a few Justice4JacobMellis T-shirts. ;)

Costas Bebe for Ballon d Or then

  366. MG says:

    Don’t panic

    I’m here

This is Dr. Frasier MG Crane

    I’m listening.

  367. CedarsDevil says:

    Costas

Speaking of joining dates, I started posting early 2010 and will never forget that the first three to greet me were King Eric, Willie and your good self!

  368. CedarsDevil says:

    Dr MG Crane

I have a problem…. Thing is, I keep chewing gum and looking at my watch. Can you help?

  369. Costas says:

    @Cedars

Really? I am not usually the one to make the first step, lol. Must have been something different about you. ;)

  370. WillieRedNut says:

Who cares what other people say about United! Jason Cundy says United are average? A big so fucking what! Fuck him and his plastic wife! :P

  371. CedarsDevil says:

    Costas

Ya, I was too sweet to resist back then! ha ha

  372. dela says:

    Cedars, Costas

Random fact of the day. I started posting around mid 2010 and the first three to greet me were Balaji and the two of you.

On a side note, what ever happened to Bebe? Wasn’t he expected to be back in training around mid Feb?

  373. samuel - united WE stand says:

cedars – your love for the blog is evident buddy but i just don’t think the owner can consistently come up with ideas to run a blog, i’m not on as often so i probably don’t notice how much it gets updated but why are we all throwing a tantrum? come on, give the blog owner a break, let’s get on with it. A bitch is probably keeping him busy, posters are 2nd best ha!

  374. MG says:

    Cedars

    No problem

Let me call Harry for you.

    Ring ring…

    Hello?

Hi Harry this is Dr. Frasier MG Crane, Cedars needs your help.

Triffic I’ll do my best you know.

Harry Cedars can’t stop chewing gum and looking at his watch, what do you think?

What do I think? Well I think he’s got Alex syndrome you know? The only way to get over that is to carry on chewing more gum and buy a bigger watch, triffic.

    Thanks Harry.

Thanks Dr, by the way have you seen Jeff

Well yes I have Harry he’s with Sally!

Well he broke my heart, I love that man I do.

    I know Harry, bye Harry!

  375. CedarsDevil says:

    dela

Really? No recollection! I recall you live in Bahrain and we discussed channels that air live games right?

    Samuel

No one is giving STR a hard time mate, just suggestions. If he is off shagging a hot babe then bravo! ha ha

  376. WillieRedNut says:

And the mope likes George Micheal! :) The day I start taking notice of Cundy and his like, is the day I pack football in. Durham is a dick sometimes, but I’d take him over Jason(Orange)Cundy.

  377. CedarsDevil says:

    MG

You’re a nut case ha ha, just pissed myself. ‘Alex syndrome’ quality

  378. dela says:

    Cedars

Oh yes. Something about the FA Cup games not being aired in the middle east, I think.

  379. Zibbie says:

Lunch was good, twitter has caught STR’s fancy.

Were here, and change the subject to what is pertinent. When we run out of that, well chicks are hot. Hotties on Sky are always a good thing, Meg is taken.

  380. CedarsDevil says:

    dela

Yes, somewhere along those lines, also the bliss of pirated cable in these parts….

  381. CedarsDevil says:

WIN WIN WIN no 20 WIN WIN WIN

    Come ON UNITED

  382. MG says:

    You’re welcome Cedars ;)

  383. Zibbie says:

May 13 10:00 ET Sunderland v Manchester United

So, so very weird no FA cup or CL quarter finals/ simi finals in there.

  384. Zibbie says:

Holy crap Batman, that was the Penguin!!!!

I know Robin, to the bat chairs.

  385. keano99 says:

Terry out of tomorrows game oh didn’t c that comming. The pricks

  386. WillieRedNut says:

I think Cedars has a valid point. If Scott hasn’t got the time to post like he used too, then give some of the lads on here who post on a regular basis the chance to air their views. Scott has given his Twitter mates the opportunity to write articles, so why not the main contributors? As Cedars said, Denton, Stateside, Balaji and MG are excellent writers. Much better than me, though I do try my best! I’d like to throw Costas into the mix too. Yeah, even if it’s about the medical team lol. I won’t personally get on Scott’s case. You don’t know whats going on in peoples personal life. Honestly, I think it’s a great idea, and takes some of the slack off StR’s shoulders. I’m sure Scott isn’t too big headed, to take our concerns on board. ps I didn’t mention Sir Giles for obvious reasons lol.

  387. CedarsDevil says:

    Thank you Willie, many thanks

  388. TonyBee says:

    My doctor said this evening…….

“I’m just going to cup your testicles sir…………”

“Then I shall need to insert a finger into your anus…………”

Is this something you’re familiar with………..?”

“Yes, but I usually get them to buy me a drink first.” I replied.

  389. TonyBee says:

    evening boys……. cough cough…..

  390. CedarsDevil says:

Just had what I call multiple sneeze orgasms…… Bloody hell, 7 or 8 in row just blow my head off!

    Evening MrBee

  391. CedarsDevil says:

    Hi Lebomanc

Of course it has to be RvP, he is like a football god of sorts!

  392. TonyBee says:

I went to the Doctor’s with a sneezing problem….. told him every time I sneezed I had an an orgasm…..

He asked me what I was taking for it……

    Pepper, I told him……..

  393. TonyBee says:

    attishoo…. attishoo…….attishoo

  394. JC says:

Been too busy at work to post during the day but G12 you pegged me on that list pal, I don’t have buckets of speed but at 5’11″ 18 stone no one is getting through me in the center… :D

re: STR having to work a 2nd job instead of posting, you’d think with all the income from the crazy pop-up ads he’d be rolling in $$ and retiring to a beach in Malta or at least a nice highrise in Salford… :P

  395. CedarsDevil says:

    MrBee

    Ha ha ha ha……

  396. TonyBee says:

I went to the doctor today and he said he’d need a sample of shit from me.

I’ve just emailed him the address of Manchester City.

  397. lebomanc says:

    Cedarsdevil
The voting was like 80% for RVP! Arsenal would probably relegate without him in the team :)

  398. CedarsDevil says:

    JC

Never mind anyone getting through you mate, I am a big enough cunt to cover the whole fucking goal…. I have to thank the boss Giggs12 for having faith in me!

  399. Saad says:

Antonio Valencia: floats “like a hummingbird” and “stings like a rhinoceros”, at least that’s how Steve Bartram of ManUtd.com might describe Antonio if you asked him.

    Couldnt disagree with that!

  400. WillieRedNut says:

I wouldn’t say I’m the best poster on here Cedars, but I’m in the top one! ;) Old Cloughy was a genius!

  401. CedarsDevil says:

    JC

Only 5’11? Next to me and Giggs12 you would look like a midget! Mind you, on the plus side, next to James and King Eric you would be a giant! ha ha

    Lebomanc

True that, its RvP FC after all!

  402. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie

You have just touched my heart. Clough (RIP) was a genius, I rate him as high as the likes of Busby, Shanks and Fergie

  403. JC says:

Btw, anyone know yet when the 2nd leg of the FAYC semi is at Chelski, has it been scheduled yet?

  404. King Eric says:

samuel – Yes mate and maybe us regulars VOTED for the blog in the awards which he duly won. A blog is not a blog without decent posters. Also Sam I too am fucking sick of cunts mate saying this United side is shit. Most goals, possibly highest points total ever. Two of the best widemen about. Top strikers. Top young keeper. Great defence. Fucking idiots.

  405. King Eric says:

samuel – No mate the issue is more the lack of threads. We used to get great write ups from Scott. View from the enemy, Reactions and so on.

  406. King Eric says:

Costas and Cedars – Spot on lads!

  407. King Eric says:

Costas – Oh yeah mate. I forgot about Drew Vadar. Top lad. Failsworth, RedManc, Jake, East Stand manc, SmokeBreakSteve . Loads have gone. Spencer, Suhayl and of course Kings!

  408. James21 says:

Another bean pole in JC. WTF have you lot been eating? Me and the 4′ 7 king eric need some.

RE the lack of threads. Who cares I read all I need to know on manutd.com I only come on here to get insulted and stay off topic. :D :D :D

  409. Redbilly says:

King Eric- I too am sick of the ‘ united are on the decline’ bandwagon . Shift in premise – especially from cit-ey fans – is from the team being shit , now we are top and showing form to the premier league/ media conspiracy theory that the powers that be want united to win. The proof – allegedly – being poor decisions re city penalties free kicks and red cards. The same media who , all season lauded city and paid scant regard to united.

  410. James21 says:

Light Blue Touch Paper And Retreat. :P

  411. King Eric says:

samuel – Olly Holt and the like on twatter are keeping him busy pal, not a bitch!

  412. WillieRedNut says:

Don’t forget Paco Rabane and Red Riding Wolf, King Eric? :)

  413. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

Spot on regarding Kings, thank fuck I am in touch with him….. Bloody miss his posts and ABU rants

  414. King Eric says:

Oi. Fuck off with this King Eric is a midget bollocks!!! I am just shy of 6 feet. Don’t believe James!

  415. James21 says:

King Eric. You know my feelings on Negative comments about the Manager, team and players. The one that bores the pants off me never has a good word to say about Utd and probably moaned about all 9 goals we scored against Ipswich is Uncle Liverpudlian. No sorry his wife.

  416. CedarsDevil says:

    Jimmy James

King Eric is only 4’7? Thought he was 5’2?

  417. James21 says:

King Eric has small man syndrome. :P :D :)

  418. King Eric says:

Red Billy – Exactly mate. It is becoming a worn out cliche now and has been banded about for two seasons “Not a great United side”. Well whats that say about the like of Spurs who only three weeks ago the Beetroot cunt arse lickers were tipping for the title? They are now 17 points behind.

Willie – Who were those two? Paco Rabanne and thingy?

James – You prat! I am getting smaller by the week! 5 feet 6. Five feet 2. NOW Four foot 7! Ha.

  419. James21 says:

    Cedars
I forget how tall he is I just know that Warwick Davis towers over him. :P

  420. CedarsDevil says:

To all the midgets of RoM, worry not the likes of me and Giggs12 have the cradles ready and will rock you to bed

  421. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

I never took you for a 4’5 person to be honest

  422. WillieRedNut says:

Jolly Green giant Cedars chased all the wee men away. Bully.

  423. WillieRedNut says:

Either that, or MG’s 5 week old cold has found it’s target! Ha ha ;)

  424. Costas says:

Don’t listen to them King Eric. Height doesn’t matter vertically. Only horizontally! If you are 5’2 in that area, more power to you. ;)

One of the guys I’d love to see back is Red Manc. Like I’ve said before, he was the first guy to welcome me here.

    @willie

Personally I can’t write a coherent and eloquent long article to save my life, but I’d love to see something from the 4 people you mentioned. Don’t know if I would read a Denton Davey article about Berba, lol, but other than that, he could do the business. ;)

    @dela

Hi mate. Really? I didn’t remember that. 2010 must have been a year when I was open with people, lol. I am usually too shy to get a communication started.

  425. MG says:

    Target initiated

    Target sort

    And fire!

Cough cough – stupid cold won’t go away!

  426. WillieRedNut says:

    Nurse! :P

  427. WillieRedNut says:

Don’t be modest now, Costas. We know you’d love to write a goodbye article on Berba! :)

  428. MG says:

Thanks for that earlier mention Willie

Personally I wouldn’t mind at all but I have to do something for Cyril first and I am very busy writing otherwise myself

I’m just blessed writing comes naturally to me – but that doesn’t make me better than the rest, I couldn’t do this without the spark everyone gives me

    19

  429. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie

I am no bully, full of love and affection I am, hence my soft spot for the wee men, i.e. James and King Eric!! hahaha

  430. MG says:

Me and Costas should just write a book on Kebabology

Then watch us make some money ;)

  431. Costas says:

    @willie

Ah no pal. It will involve too much ranting and bitching. I’ll leave it up to someone like Stateside Aussie, Balaji or Mr. C.

  432. Mikekelly12 says:

    Evening fuck bags.
When we’re in Platts I have to pass on anything James says to Giggs12… Conversation courier if you like. I’ve got to say, never thought King Eric was in the hob goblin category. Good set of shoulders on the lad! Anyway, deffo a lack of threads, quick reaction went to slow reaction went to no reaction.

  433. CedarsDevil says:

Leave nurses out of this discussion, that is my area

  434. Costas says:

    @MG

We’ll dedicate the book to those responsible for making kebabs a ROM past time last year: Hernandez, Vidic, Berba, Rooney, Nani and of course, Bebe. :D

  435. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike

Whats up fuck face? Ha ha you cracked me up…. Poor old Jimmy James, so short he cannot be heard eh?

  436. MG says:

    Costas

Not forgetting all those that turn up when we lose and then never turn up when we win

  437. WillieRedNut says:

    Oh nurse? He he.

  438. James21 says:

    Ok Here Goes.

Reactions to the victory over Wolves.

Their fans were good fun and traded banter well. Rooney had a blinder as did Welbeck. Chicharito scored 2 needed goals and looked sharp all game. Can see why some rave about Pogba and as for Evans DDG and Valencia just not good enough.
In the end ‘We won 5 fucking Nil’ The only negative comment was there was no beer on sale inside Molineux. Grrrrrr

  439. James21 says:

    Cedars
Too short even with my corrective heel shoes. Not easy having two legs shorter than the rest. :D

  440. Zibbie says:

The looser’s club, charter member’s KR and Anti Scouser.

  441. kev e says:

Chaps. The point I was trying to make is that unless you’re a regular poster you tend to visit for the articles AND the comments… I’ve been reading ROM for about 3 years and rarely posting. It just seems to me that there aren’t many in depth articles on here anymore, in fact it’s a rare treat when we do… hence the accolades handed out to Denton when he properly puts the hours in and gives us all a real insight in to the club’s history. Not slagging STR off, I follow him on Twitter as well, just reckon that there are other people out there who would love to write articles for the blog. But ultimately it’s a blog… a blog gets visited because of the articles!! …and fuck me after the topsy turvy season we’re having it’s not as if there’s nothing to discuss! Anyway….

  442. Zibbie says:

    450

  443. Zibbie says:

Sir Giles gets his pen on, here.

  444. kev e says:

Plus it takes f**king hours for the pages to load when there’s 450 posts!! ;)

On a different note… 3 new brazilians on trial?! The medical team clearly had too much time on their hands now that the injury list is getting shorter!!!!!! :D

  445. James21 says:

    Kev e
You can write or suggest articles. I think its in the contacts bit.

  446. WillieRedNut says:

Topsy and Turvy don’t post no more, either?

  447. CedarsDevil says:

    James

Rooney had a blinder? Must have been watching the wrong match mate, the guy is average at best. Give me a Henderson any day of the week

  448. Zibbie says:

  449. FletchTHEMAN says:

Looks like Muamba is one lucky lucky lad.

Fabrice Muamba has been ‘laughing and joking with Bolton players’ according to the latest reports

    http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/fabricemuamba-laughing-and-joking-following-cardiac-arrest-7578955.html

Well the episode did 3 things.
    - Gave everyone a crash course in heart health
    - Showed there is a footie community that can cross supporter lines (except for a few racially challenged toads).
    - Taught everyone how to spell Muamba !

  450. WillieRedNut says:

MG – Sorry mate, I was drinking a cup of tea lol. I’d rather read an article from you, or someone else who posts on the blog regularly. No disrespect to other guest writers, but they ain’t on here every other day.

  451. James21 says:

    Cedars
You know me and Zibbie wear Rooney tinted specs.

  452. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

I’m genuinely happy that Muamba is recovering well, sky say he’s joking and laughing about with mates, talked with Coyle, responding and answering questions, speaking french and english & had a comfortable monday night.

Chequesea without JT and Shitty without either Kompany or Lescott. Hope Chelshit get lucky.

JT wont make the game but will be on the touchline which is a added boost.
    :)

  453. CedarsDevil says:

Been reading this blog since the time of Jesus, St Paul. now that is a poster I miss. Bugger was great at taking the piss

  454. MG says:

    Oh they drive me mad!

I hope that tea was good – was it from Lebanon by any chance ;)

  455. Mikekelly12 says:

Cedars me old china… I usually bring paper cups connected by string so he can speak to everyone! Any sign of Maya and the ex yet pal?

  456. WillieRedNut says:

One topic I’d love to discuss lads, Is CedarsDevil a bully? Look how he talks down to young/old Jamesy? Just because he doesn’t sit the stretty, or his small stature. Just not right imo.

  457. Zibbie says:

St Paul was great, loved his take on the time they switch from a severed head as a ball to an air filled cows blatter. Traditionalist said the game would never be the same.

  458. MG says:

I can’t wait for JT to do the Avram tomorrow on the touchline

There were quite a few cunts, and I don’t use there term lightly, on here who were banging on about Scholes coming out of retirement was a panic move and showed signs of desperation!!! Think I read that we’ve compiled 25 out of a possibl 27 points since he made the decision!! That’s fucking desperate!!! Let’s panic!

  466. Costas says:

Dead serious you mean willie. ;)

  467. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie

Life as we know it would make no sense without you

  469. Mikekelly12 says:

  470. James21 says:

Good call. Scholes came back because he realized he retired to early. Still has a load of games in those legs.

Plan A: Kebabs and a nice flagon first…….. We can panic later, if we remember! ;)

  477. MG says:

    Tomorrow

JT will finally use all of his Football Manager skills to become the manager we want him to become.

    JT will mastermind citys downfall

All hail JT Football Manager God

  478. CedarsDevil says:

    Mike

You are fucking clueless, Scholes is rubbish, we begged him out of retirement…..

  479. MG says:

Scholes had divine intervention when coming out of retirement

That and of course he had blessings from the wife

  480. WillieRedNut says:

Schoes is vastly overrated. So says the ginger Durham.

  481. WillieRedNut says:

Leeds getting spanked at home by Forrest!

  482. Costas says:

Regarding Scholes’ return, would it have happened if Anderson and Tom weren’t injured? Probably not. So in a way it was a desperate measure. Plus, you expect a team (at least one with United’s resources) to buy a player when they are dealing with problems ar a certian position. Not bring a player out of retirement. Has the Scholes gamble paid off? Definitely. He looks fresher than he did in the last 2 seasons. However, that move has me worried that we will once again look to keep him around next season instead of buying the midfielder we need. And as great as Scholes looks at 37-38, he’s not the future of this team.

    @Wiilie

What article was that, lol? How many injuries he gets just by waking up each morning?

  483. Mikekelly12 says:

    Willie
Durham the football genius! He just hates that Scholes has hogged the ginger limelight….mmmm ginger and lime! The cunt does however big up Carrick!

  484. WillieRedNut says:

Leeds pull it back to 3 3, then Forest make it 4 3! Lol.

  485. CedarsDevil says:

3 -3 at the sheep shaggers, been quiet on this but come ON Forrest

  486. Pratyush says:

    @Costas

Mate, if Scholesy does stay on, I think it’ll only be to give a rest to the likes of Pogba, Clevz and Tunni. Maybe to help cope with the loss in experience we had this season when we lost so many experienced title-winners. Always helps to have someone as level-headed as Scholesy to play alongside.

  487. CedarsDevil says:

Get in there ………….Bash them sheep shagging Munich chanting bastards

  488. WillieRedNut says:

    5 3 Forest! ha ha.

  489. CedarsDevil says:

Ha ha ha 5 – 3 now, get stuck in you fucking beauties

  490. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie

    Same wave length?

  491. Mikekelly12 says:

    Costas
I hope it would have happened. I don’t think their injuries were the catalyst for him thinking he retired too early! He’s been vitaly important in games this season. Bringing back a tried and trusted legend for free, never desperate or a gamble in my book. Spending £30m in January on an unknown quantity in the Prem, now that’s desperation!

  492. WillieRedNut says:

Spooky Cedars? I was reading your mind!

  493. JC says:

And Hoilett puts Sunderland’s hopes in the toilet…

  494. CedarsDevil says:

Come on Forest Come on Forest

    We all hate leeds scum

Willie – You know me so well!

  495. WillieRedNut says:

    6 3 Cedars? Lol.

  496. Mikekelly12 says:

    Cedars
3-6 Marro is a happy man!! We all hate Leeds scum!!!!

  497. CedarsDevil says:

Bash the fucking bastards, bash the fucking bastards hahaha

6 – 3 Sheep shagging Munich chanting bastards being well and truly put to the sword

  498. WillieRedNut says:

Forest player has scored 4 goals! :)

  499. WillieRedNut says:

Fucking hell? 7 3 Forest! Neil Warnock is making some impression.

  500. CedarsDevil says:

We want 7, we want 7 ….attack attack attack attack

  501. LoneStarRed says:

@ Zibbie. I can tell you this. The ability to function and excel under danger/duress is key. But it is a double edged sword. One can become addicted to the adrenaline and the heightened state of being. Paradoxically , a coping technique for some who are in such situations is to sleep just prior to entry if the situation permits. And the let down after is hard. I have seen many walk away from marriages and family to pursue adrenaline and endorphins. When immersed for long periods in such an environment burnout (PTSD) can ensue. It is similar to stress but entirely different. It is a potent drug. Learning to control the adrenaline takes time and practice. But once achieved you can truly be “in the zone”. Perception, fluid movement, reaction and thought all flow seamlessly. It is almost out of body. We had a tornado here a couple of years back. I was in a situation which was quite perilous. By God’s grace I am still here (just like all the other times). It had been quite a while since I experienced that rush. Fell dead asleep afterwards. Then came the shakes. They come after the danger has passed.

I can see things in a concerted big picture manner. That is how MUFC goes about their business. ( That is why Mourhino is NOT the one to replace SAF. At his core it’s about him and not the legacy of the club.) We will have ebbs and flows. But with many competent personnel in place, with good LEADERSHIP and a vision all ascribe to ,we move forward. Even if it means taking a step or two backward to reassess and reacquire our true course. The fact that we are top of the EPL as we take a step back does not bode well for the rest of the table.

    20

  502. CedarsDevil says:

hahaha so its fucking 7! Pissing my self

  503. samuel - united WE stand says:

Warnock and leeds suit each other. 7goals conceded? cedars will be dancing around a fire tonight.

  504. LoneStarRed says:

The other side affect is the tremendous ego. One must be balanced and grounded. A large dose of humility and living for something bigger than yourself does wonders.

  505. Costas says:

    @Pratyush

There are a couple of ifs in that theory though. Pogba signing a new deal is one of them. Another one is Tunni. I have a feeling that he’ll be on loan next season as well. Judging by Fergie’s recent comments, Scholes doesn’t sign contract extensions just to be called in a case of emergency. He wants to start games. So should he stay fit, we could be looking at 25-30 starts for him next season. I’d love to have Scholes stay as a squad player. His presence in the locker room is invaluable. Is it what he wants though?

Anyway, for me the midfield conundrum boils down to something different. The lack of a player that will stick his foot in and hassle the opposition’s midfield. It’s one of the reasons we’ve conceded as many goals this season. We don’t have a player like that in Fletcher’s absence. And God knows what his future holds.

    @Mikekelly

Yeah, but I wasn’t talking about Sneijder mate. I am pretty sure that Scholes was missing football. But like I said, it’s not usually the normal pattern in these circumstances. Anyway, I am not blind to the fact that it’s been a succesfull comeback. His form has exceeded my expectations. But it only prolonged the inevitable until the summer. How will we approach the whole midfield situation then? Especially if Pogba leaves and Fletcher fails to return.

  506. WillieRedNut says:

West Ham are shocking at home.

  507. Costas says:

Messi became Barcelona’s leading all time scorer today with 235 goals. Took him a long time. :P

But that’s just secondary to the really important news. Take that you Leeds scum. :D

  508. CedarsDevil says:

    Samuel

I am going fucking mental here! ha ha

  509. LoneStarRed says:

@ Costas Regarding the lack of a “Fletcher” /DM

Pogba shows balance. Offensive at his core but willing and eager to press and chase. Cleverly is offensively biased ( fear of injury perhaps).

  510. Saad says:

    @Samuel

What do you mean “tonight”? He already was dancing around some bonfire, calling on the spirits to spook the shite out of the SS defenders.

  511. CedarsDevil says:

We all hate leeds scum we all hate leeds scum…… Fucking murdering Munich chanting bastards

  512. samuel - united WE stand says:

I had no doubt about that cedars haha.

Blackburn worry me, we still have to go to the Ewood park this season, i think we’ll be in for a tough game over there. Can united pick up junior hoilett? quality player on a free.

  513. WillieRedNut says:

    How heavy is he?

  514. samuel - united WE stand says:

saad – i’m not Suprised, it’s all cedars fault for their trashing i hear leeds scream LOL

  515. CedarsDevil says:

    Samuel

Would not be you otherwise if you were not worried or nervous my friend…. You are just like a pregnant woman about to give birth, always freaked out! hahaha

Never mind me, I just like to take the piss…..You’re a good man

  516. samuel - united WE stand says:

Cedars – i would love to stroll through the season and think united will be entirely comfortable but in the premier league, that won’t happen. looking at blackburn, they seem to have a habit of causing an upset, 3-2 springs to mind

  517. LoneStarRed says:

    @ Samuel

Blackburn benefited mightily from first playing us during the festive season and when we were focused on other competitions. We looked past them and suffered the price for it. This is a totally different situation with a focused United. The results will be different. If they press in attack we will score at least three.

  518. WillieRedNut says:

My heart says Chelsea can get a draw, but my head says city win this 2 1. Too strong at wastelands. I suppose it depends what Chelsea turn up. Jackal and Hyde team. Will they want it enough?

  519. samuel - united WE stand says:

Lonestar – i agree. that loss was truly baffling to be honest. Let’s hope so, gotta go there and be professional.

  520. MG says:

    Heart says

    Chelsea win

    Head says

    City will fall apart

    Win win!

I bet Cedars must be happy with the Forest result ;)

    Goodnight United

  521. denton davey says:

Just wondering: has any player who has left OT as a 21 year-old been “brought back” after getting two/three/four years of experience playing regularly elsewhere ?

I’m asking that because I watched Phil Bardsley quite closely – not all match because friends dropped by and I had to be “civil” to them – and he impressed me again. I know that UTD have a number of young guys who are in line for the right-back job – Rafael/Fabio, MrJones, BigManSmalling – but I do wonder if Bardsley might not be a pretty good option as a box-to-box midfielder.

PhilB. has become the very best of the “exUTD” players in the EPL – apart from Phil Neville, who I think should have stayed on since he is so versatile AND will always be a ProperRed. Bardsley is a very, very tough s.o.b., has a great shot and is a very good passer. I also think that he is athletic enough to do the job. Plus, of course, he’s from Salford – and UTD need to have a local core-group.

  522. LoneStarRed says:

    @ Samuel

Professional, clinical and ruthless. We put them to the sword with no mercy. Nothing personal but our build up to the match with baby blue poo must be clinical. Each game on it’s own but very much a part of the march to 20.That will demoralize them and have WoMancini shaking in his scarf. A good indication of WoMancini’s state of mind will be his command of
English in the interviews prior to.

  523. Costas says:

My penis says Chelsea will lose without the CLLC out there. Piss on them. ;)

  524. WillieRedNut says:

I think Terry not playing is good for Chelsea. Sergio Garcia would run him ragged.

  525. WillieRedNut says:

    That ship has sailed Denton.

  526. denton davey says:

    WillieRedNut @ 23:03: “Sergio Garcia” ?

Why do you think that “that ship has sailed” in regard to my comment about Phil Bardsley ? Is it because SAF never brings back guys who have been sold on ? Or do you think that Bardsley just isn’t up-to-it ?

  527. Warwick says:

I love ROM. Things evolve – that’s natural. Why hanker for the past? New people on the blog all the time – just as good as the people who have drifted away. Things get stale if they stay the same.

  528. WillieRedNut says:

Denton – I knew a Sergio of some description played for city? Augero! On Bardsley, decent player, but we’re ok at RB imo. I think he’s found his level at Sunderland. If he came to United now, I doubt he’d be first choice. The lads playing every week under a top manager in O’Neill. Still nice to see one of our products doing the business at a different club.

  529. RedArmyMlt says:

Valencia and Evans have been immense. Absolutely amazing contribution by the duo. Valencia tends to get the praise but our Johnny is the unsung hero. I salute you both!

  530. JC says:

Boy it’s sure good to see wunderkind Morrison getting that quality 1st team action that he so richly deserved … er wait, yeah he’s played as much for WHU as he did for us. Quality will tell out and all that.

  531. dannysoya LOVES SIAN MASSEY says:

“Kenny Dalglish to rivals- You’re all scared of Suarez”. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

  532. Phil Jones' Birdshit Streaks says:

    COME ON CHELSEA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh how I’d LOVE to see Torres re-find his scoring touch tonight at the Emptihad. The old Torres rampaging through a shitty back line and stuffing a few down that arrogant cunt Hart’s throat. I don’t think I’ve ever supported Chelsea before, but I will be tonight.

  533. Balaji Sivaraman says:

WOW! So many mentions yesterday and I wasn’t even on here. Many thanks to Cedars, Willie, Costas and all others.

I myself consider Willie, Costas, smartalex and others as much better writers because they can deliver the point within a few words and sentences whereas I ramble on for many paragraphs to deliver the same point lol.

  534. Sandeep1878 says:

    Morning reds,

I just hope we lift the trophy at shittihad :)

that would be icing on the cake..

  535. lordrt says:

I can almost sense that this means we are a two-men team: Valencia and Rooney… If both men are present the team is in fine form, exclude one of these two men in the lineup and the team drops low in performance

@Sandeep1878 : how r u dude? I hope you mean we lift the trophy there irrespective of the result, and not wait for a win there to eventually lift it :-)

  536. MichaelPapoui says:

Mancini reckons the title decider will be between us when we meet at Maine road, does that mean That Chelsea Arsenal and the rest are all going to roll over just to make his wish come true?

  537. Xyth says:

Who would have said that we would be wishing the scouse bastard turned rent boy a hatrick!

Come on ladyboy, make your darling Carragher proud tonight!

Having said that I strongly believe that we should win no 20 without any assistance from others!

  538. CedarsDevil says:

    Morning all

This thread is like deja vu!

The good thing about tonight’s game is that regardless of the result we will still be top. If I was a betting man I would go for a draw, the renties should be up for it if they are serious about getting 4th, which eventually I hope they don’t.

  539. kanchelskis says:

In other news, Patrick Vieira needs to shut his ugly cakehole.

“Paul Scholes is a player that I really love and admire, one of the best English players of the last few years, and seeing him come back is good for him and for United.

“But for him to come back just shows a little bit of weakness in United, because they had to bring a player back who was 37. I think it shows that, in the next few years, it will be really difficult for United to cope with other teams because, with all the respect I have for Scholes, him coming back shows that they don’t have talent in there to replace him.

When you see United losing young players like Ravel Morrison and maybe Paul Pogba, they should be really worried because that wouldn’t have happened in the past.”

What a fucking desperate PR stunt by City to try and get us nervous. He’s got no fucking clue about the Morrison and Pogba situations. Just scratching around in vain to find some harbingers of doom. Fucking do one mate.

On a personal level, he should feel ashamed to even mention a player TWO YEARS older than him who’s doing a great job for the team at the TOP of the league, while he spaffs around being an executive director for a team with which he has no connection other than via his fucking wallet.

Another classic line has to be “Obviously, I spent nine years with Arsenal at the most crucial period of my career, between 20 and 29, so I understand when people ask why I didn’t go back there because the club will always be in my heart.

But the response is simple – it’s the fact that opportunity was here at City. It was interesting and something I wanted to do, so it just happened. ”

‘It was interesting and something I wanted to do’ = ‘they offered me shitloads of fucking money, alright?’

  545. MG says:

When you see Manchester City have to rely upon and beg Carlos Tevez to come back and try to win them the premiership which they are shitting themselves trying to win, then we have nothing to answer for.

From Carlos Tevez will never play for this football club again to Carlos can help us win the premiership – jog the fuck on

Let it be, the irony of it all is that if those that kept shitty on top for so long can’t bring in the trophy, can’t be trusted any longer to fulfil the brief of winning matches, then for Carlos Tevez to be entrusted to single handedly bring the premiership in is the most stupid wanting expectation ever.

One man cannot do such a thing, it takes a team effort, whilst some have licked his ass wanting him back, others will not feel the same way – others will feel they have been disrespected by the manager

But this is what we want – more tantrums – excellent

By the way – where is Hargreaves in this equation?

  550. kanchelskis says:

    @Sandeep1878

    Morning mate.

This is even more desperate than a Hansen moment. I think Vieira is probably fearful for his position at the club in the event that they don’t win the PL. If they finish the season trophyless, Mancini will probably go, but how much deeper will the executive clearout be? It’s a last-ditch attempt to assure himself of his lucrative money-for-nothing position.

Viera was unavailable for comment, as sources have confirmed that Sheikhy Baby is upset that Christians have hijacked Tevez for their own means.

Apparently Mansour wants Tevez to lead the Islamic prayer in Abu Dhabi, he believes that Tevez warrants so much attention that it would be good for the religion.

Mansour is willing to pay Tevez double what Palin is prepared to pay.

Reports are coming in that Israel wants to be the face of Judaism – we’ll go where the money is a source from Tevez’s camp has declared.

    Viera

Manchester United are shitting themselves, the Queen has given Carlos a knighthood for coming back to win the premiership for cit, and what has that ginger nut Paul Scholes got?

  575. Giles Oakley says:

Hi Denton Davey, good question about Phil Bardsley, which I thought myself after his goal-line clearance for the Toons at Old Trafford last November. The best case of a United Comeback Kid would be Sparky Hughes, who Big Fat Ron mis-used and sold to Barca and then Fergie brought him back. The rest is a history of cups, titles and a Double. I’d be happy to see Phil back, he plays with real guts and passion, but has improved in his judgement and positional sense.

  576. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

“Carlos Tevez is a player that I really love and admire, one of the best players of the last few years, and seeing him come back is good for him and for City,” I said.

“But for him to come back just shows a little bit of weakness in City, because they had to bring a player back who already fuqqed the club over”

    HAHAHA x infinity

  579. kanchelskis says:

    @YorYor

It’s a point I made when there were first rumours of Tevez coming back to City.

All those months ago, when City seemed to be bulldozing everything in site and the title was nailed on, Mancini was happy to give it large about Tevez, about how he’d never play for them again. Gradually, as their lead has been eroded, his position has been softening, and now they’re actually behind on points, Mancini is practically bending over to allow Tevez to bum him. It’s pathetic.

A manager like Fergie would sooner finish second – hell would sooner finish fifth – than allow a selfish little prick of a player get away with something like this. It sets an atrocious precedent, and even if Tevez comes back and fires them to the title, it will have done so at the expense of any sort of integrity, and also sending out a message to current and prospective players – “come to / stay at City, and get away with whatever you want”. The ‘project’ will be well and truly doomed.

  585. Costas says:

Say what you will about Scholes, but at least he’s played more games than Hargreaves already this season…

And who’s Hargreaves playing for again?

  586. kanchelskis says:

    @Costas

He plays for City. Duh. He’s on course for 40 appearances this season, like he promised. Can’t believe you haven’t noticed him tearing up the league, cups, Europe etc etc.

  587. WillieRedNut says:

The city medical team must be worse than ours! ;)

  588. kanchelskis says:

    @WillieRedNut

Yeh … wonder if they’ll get a telling off when Hargreaves leaves the Shittyhad at the end of the season.

  589. Costas says:

Hargreaves was never going to get picked ahead of Toure, Barry or De Jong anyway. He also got an injury when Toure was in Africa(and that was why he was bought in the first place), so he hasn’t made 40 appearances. Just 4. ;)

But this isn’t about Hargeaves’ record. Vieira’s talking about our weakness. His club bought Hargo because Mancini admitted they were out of cash!

  590. kanchelskis says:

    @Costas

Yeh, the signing of Pizarro spoke volumes as well. Clearly there to replace Hargreaves, who must now surely retire in the summer. That in itself is of course very sad and I wouldn’t wish the misfortune he’s endured on anyone. Just a shame he couldn’t wind down with a bit of dignity.

  591. Giles Oakley says:

Oops Kanchelskis, you’re totally, embarrassingly right…this’ll confirm suspicions that I’m going senile…

  592. wayne says:

Since Scholes came back has proven he’s as good as anyone in the Prem made a huge difference so how is that a sign of weakness?the time off was the best thing that happened to him
Who knows initially might have gone to Sir Alex when the teams injuries were critical doesn’t matter he’s still quality and is getting picked on merit, the sign of weakness comment just doesn’t make any sense

  593. Costas says:

    @Kanchelskis

Oh yeah, I forgot about Pizarro. That signing also proved why they bought Hargreaves in the first place. Just to poke us. I don’t think he’ll retire yet though. He could find a lower league club to play at. After all, a certain other Owen still finds clubs to play at. ;)

As for Vieira, he forgets that he also joined City at the twilight of his career. I bet that wasn’t a sign of weakness on City’s part..

  594. Jeet says:

@Costas: They get Hargreaves from us, and we get some promising European talent from their “Elite Development Squad”. And then we have to tolerate this whatever giving it large about us not investing in youth and bringing back “old man” Scholes.

  595. kanchelskis says:

    @Giles Oakley

I’d far rather your mental capacities – such as they are ;-) – are given over to writing the excellent and enlightening pieces that you do (not to mention, I could fail to notice, the odd invective appearing on the Guardian’s Sport letters page), rather than recalling the minutiae of our ex-players’ careers!

  596. kanchelskis says:

    @Costas

He won’t want to play at a lower league club. And to be honest, neither should someone of the talents he clearly possesses, regardless of his misortune with his knees.

Also, his fitness problems have nothing to do with the level at which he’s trying to play. If he can’t train long enough to get himself on a pitch, he won’t be able to play at any sort of level, even if it’s League 2. I’m pretty sure he’ll retire.

  597. WillieRedNut says:

Big Pat’s comments smacks of weakness to me. They’re worried about us now. Mind games? Fergie sets that standard.

  598. xol says:

Big game tonight. Come on Spurs.
    Eh?

  599. Giles Oakley says:

Thanks Kanchelskis. Sadly the Guardian has stopped having a Sports Letters section, which used to be one of my favourite outlets, although I’m happy to say their very last column ( in January) just happened to carry a letter from me having a go at Liverpool over Suarez and racism!

By chance I have a letter in the main letters page of today’s Guardian, reflecting seriously on the Fabrice Muamba case. I also had a letter in yesterday’s Times on the same thing, only suggesting that Bolton shouldn’t pull out of the FA Cup, as some have suggested, they should take inspiration from United after Munich and ‘carry on’.

  600. kanchelskis says:

    @Giles Oakley

Guardian Sports section is erratic now. Sometimes integrated, sometines stand-alone. When it’s the latter, is there not a column or two for letters?

I remember the Suarez letter. I actually came on here to congratulate you for it, but I don’t think you were around!

Sadly I missed the letter today during my lunctime peruse – don’t normally stop at that section – but will have to go back to it and have a read.

  604. denton davey says:

Giles Oakley @ 11:31: “The best case of a United Comeback Kid would be Sparky Hughes, who Big Fat Ron mis-used and sold to Barca and then Fergie brought him back.”

BUT my question was somewhat different – has SAF ever brought back one of the “kids” who were sold-on after failing to make the first team ?

Such former-”kids” play for middle-rank EPL teams and all the way down the various leagues and some who were surplus-to-requirements @ 21 might be good squad members now that they’ve had several years of regular playing time.

The reason I mentioned Phil Bardsley – in relation to switching him from right back to box-to-box midfielder – is that whenever I’ve watched Sunderland, he’s been really good. I think that he has more up-side than other guys who have been sold-on such as, say, Danny Simpson or Kieran Richardson or Sylvan Ewbanks-Blake or Chris Eagles.

Phil Bardsley has a powerful shot, defends tenaciously (great goal-line clearance last night), passes well, and plays within-himself as a team-player. He is tough, strong, athletic, and very courageous. He’s a guy who “could do a job” in much the same way that DarrenFletcherinho did.

Phil Bardsley would never be a top-rated player but not every guy on the pitch has to be “international class”; some are there to “do a job”. It’s been that way almost forever – or at least since Nobby Stiles wore the red shirt with such great distinction.

  605. King Eric says:

    Such a player.

Danizizu: Vidic has only featured in 6 prem matches this season. Usually the club only considers a 10 match minimum but can ask for special extra medals in rare occasions, such as for back up keepers. Most years we here that the real limit is the number of medals provided by the EPL. Which has variously been reported as 21 or 23. I am not actually sure that Fergie gets one every year and have heard that it relates to the number we get from the EPL and our large squad. Surely there are posters who know more about this. Good question.

  611. James21 says:

    Danizizu
Vidic has played 6 games in the PL this season so no he wouldn’t get a medal. Normally 9 will get you a medal and 10 games assures one.

Nani could be back in training this week, while Phil Jones is available for Monday’s Barclays Premier League encounter with Fulham.

The Portuguese winger played the last 15 minutes of the home defeat to Athletic Club in Europe but missed the away leg and the league wins over West Brom and Wolves after picking up an injury in training. Jones, meanwhile, was under the weather last week and not rushed back for the comfortable victory at Molineux on Sunday.

“There are no problems with injuries,” Sir Alex told ManUtd.com. “It’s much better now. There was Jones getting that bout of ‘flu but he’s back. Jones was actually back on Friday but we didn’t risk him on Sunday. He’ll be available [for the Fulham game].

“So they’re all training apart from Nani, who should not be far away and might start training this week, while Anderson and Michael Owen are the only other ones out. Nemanja Vidic and Darren Fletcher are obviously still long term.”

Been asking this question all day, what does Vieira actually do at shitty? I know his job title what does he actually DO?

    Willie

You’re welcome mate, thanks for the thanks! ha ha

  624. WillieRedNut says:

I’m surprised Vieira is at city? Never thought Keano would let him out of his back pocket.

  625. CedarsDevil says:

By the time the shitty match ends we might be close to a 1000 posts on this thread! ha ha

I am sure some would remember we had around 1200 on one thread back last summer, all mad and non relevant as well! Funny as fuck it was

  626. King Eric says:

Cedars – Not sure he is bitter mate , more pissed up on his morning show.

Fletch – Those will be third party ticket prices pal. Fucking disgraceful how they get into the hands of these cunts then sold on at absolutely exorbitant rates.

Owen still injured? Fuck me. Thought he was back training ages ago. What is the point of him being here when he does fuck all half the time yet we are willing to let Berba go who IS always fit and a fantastic footballer. Yes I know the wages but its just daft.

    STILL this fucking Valencia thread.

  627. Zibbie says:

    Good Day RoM,

Come on Chel$ki!!!! A tie would be great, a win would be awesome.

Of course, 3 points from Fullum and mark another game to the 3 points side of the 38 game ledger.
Win out and win 20 becomes more real with each win.

  628. Zibbie says:

    1200+ was great!
    Movie quotes gone wild!!!!

  629. James21 says:

    Fletch
Not sure I think its third party because away tickets are normally priced around the £40 mark except Chelsea and Arsenal which are about £50.

There was an article in the Red Issue. (More of a Comment)

So where did all the Spurs tickets go last week? It may have been a reduced allocation but its been a long time since so many in the loyalty pot were on the end of a mass clubbing like that.
The answer probably lies in all these ‘official sponsors’ that the Glazers have taken on. Gill and co. trumpet the fact that there are now 28 of them, but if they call up and ask for 20 or 30 tickets for a big weekend game in London then its those who’ve applied for every away game since Adam was a lad who are shoved to the back of the queue.

Makes you wonder where these 3rd parties are getting them from maybe the above article explains it.

  630. CedarsDevil says:

I bet Vieira still shits himself when he remembers this

  631. Zibbie says:

  632. Costas says:

    good evening ROM

My first ever rant on here!

Viera comments today, following we will win the league mancini comments have had the following effect on me.

firstly, i was angry…… To think of the brass bollocks on these two pricks to make comments so up thier own asses, to try and diminsh UTD and SAF by trying mind games…. I would have happily slapped “mr in Keano’s pocket” viera,,,

But once calm again I thought about what they had done, put myself in carricks, clevers and even poggy place reading these comments this morning. I realised my intial mistake, those posnan pricks have just helped us…….

did viera think that our players would have read it and then thrown in the towel at the stark reality that viera was right, we are weak and sitting top of the prem was by luck!

No what will happen is thst they will read it, wipe their asses with the paper and be even more determined to win title 20.

with regard to mancini’s we will win the league, SAF could just drop a copy into each players locker and thats his next 9 team talks done.

to put it simply, mnd games my cock, you twats just helped us win number 20!

    P.s. now fuck off!

  642. CedarsDevil says:

Following reports from North London tonight that a mysterious stranger has been seen following Robin Van Persie in recent weeks. The identity of the man is still unknown, but we can confirm that he has been playing the same football chant from his phone whenever RVP has been alone…

“he scores when he ants, he scores when he wants, robin van persie, old traffords what he wants”

How long this contnues is unclear, but one things for sure. The man is believed to be part of an elite band of brothers whos moto is

    WE DO WHAT WE WANT

  653. MarkoWire says:

When Fergie signed Valencia as a replacement for Ronaldo, I thought Fergie was losing it. But as the great one has proven that Valencia is a great signing and our best player this season by far. I just hope he can avoid injury from now till the end of season because he goes crazy down that wing and his crosses are awesome. I just hope Nani can take a leaf out of his books and get to Valencia’s standards on the other side.

After hearing that Tevez is in so much demand, South African President Zuma has declared that the ANC will greatly benefit from the footballers wisdom as he looks to replace Nelson Mandela as the dominant figure in African politics

I think that eh Tevez will be the symbol of Black South Africa. I like the way the boy has come back from adversity. He was thrown away and left for dead and now he has come back and won his freedom. This is like Nelson Mandela. God bless Tevez we have found our Nelson Mandela.

Apple insiders having met Carlos Tevez and his advisers are prepared to offer the football God a multi billion pound offer to become the voice of the Jesus phone.

However it is believed that Google may be in for him too

Carlos Tevez was unavailable for comment however Viera made the following statement:

We want the best for Tevez it’s not about the money he’s come back because he’s important to the world, unlike Paul Scholes who has been bought back for the money and that United are scared of us.

  671. Busby babes says:

Ironic how viera highlights that bringing back scholes shows there’s no one to replace him at old trafford, what’s worth acknowledging is who ever we’re to come in and take scholesy role will have big boots to fill, he’s been a great footballer and very succesfull with it. not to mention a top professional, whilst down at wastelands who have the silva’s and yaya’s had to emulate, step forward joey barton, stephan ireland, clutching at straws me thinks.

“But for him to come back just shows a little bit of weakness in United, because they had to bring a player back who was 37.

“I think it shows that, in the next few years, it will be really difficult for United to cope with other teams because, with all the respect I have for Scholes, him coming back shows that they don’t have talent in there to replace him.

“When you see United losing young players like Ravel Morrison and maybe Paul Pogba, they should be really worried because that wouldn’t have happened in the past.”

  776. Mikekelly12 says:

We have to take care of our own games. To be honest, with the bitters shit hole defence I thought Chelski would take points from them. But Stoke could do something and I’m sure Arsenal will so we need to keep putting the pressure on! Wasn’t gonna watch match of the day but gotta see the dippers fuck up!!

It will probably be a point between us going into the derby. We just can’t lose that one. One would think that Stoke could put up a challenge at the britannia, but realistically it will be at the emirates that City might drop points. Let’s just hope that Arsenal don’t pick up any injuries and can keep their form.

  780. orez says:

Shit. I was hoping for at least the draw.

  781. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Shitty beat United’s most consecutive wins at home record with 20 now.

We can end it at Etihad, if the lads show up with a strong mentality, that is all thats needed. Show up with hunger, concentrated and focused, silly mistake will be cut out and we’ll grab points there.

Fristly lets beat the other teams, they’ll be harder, we have to stay in tip-top shape till then, hopefully no injuries to Rio, De Gea, Evans,Evra,Carrick,Giggs,Scholes,Valencia + Rooney. We’ve got wrap them up warm after each game.

No more sore throats Wazza ! ;P

  785. Costas says:

    Thank you Liverpool.

  786. WillieRedNut says:

Nothing has changed for me. I expected city to win. Chelsea were horrible though. Fat Frank, Mata, Drogba, Essien were fucking shocking. Kept giving the ball away. That cunt with the lesbian haircut? He ties with Adam for the worst player in the premiership. He couldn’t pass you a plate, never mind a ball! Still in our hands. That’s the main thing. I do think the Red tops will go ott on city winning. They beat a poor Chelsea team, with no interest. We should have known this, when they beat Napoli. Still in our hands though. 19/20?

  787. Costas says:

Me neither willie. Like I told everyone here, save your support for Stoke! Although obviously the biggest obstacle for City will be the Emirates.

  788. keano99 says:

Lads is it true bolloxtellie had a scrap with mankini at half time? Were gona have to do it the hard way lads can’t c them droping points.

I was listening to the game on the radio and its Chelsea coverage, one of the lads thought it was a penalty because Essien raised his arms

  791. Collyhurst Red says:

Glad to see Chelski were well up for the game……….. not!

Like Willie said, expected them to win but considering how shite both teams were was almost expecting a draw.

That will turn out to be their easiest game in the run-in!

FletchTHEMAN – That story is fabricated mate. The picture is a fake. According to Nick Coppack on Twitter.

  795. King Eric says:

Didn’t expect owt but a city win at home. Essien is fucking finished. As much as it pains me to say it had CLLC been playing they would have seen out the win. The tranny was fucking dogshit. Drogba should have started. Its away where they will falter. Stoke newcastle and arsenal. Fuck off Parry you scouse loving cunt. Could he have been anymore excited. You would think they had tied the title up tonight. Smith “stuff of Champions“. Oh fuck off you cock sucker. They were five in front two week back. What REALLY sticks in my craw is the arse licking and adulation for that fucking fat greedy golfer. He will be a hero in the papers tomorrow. The ridiculous and completely unnecessary handball by Essien changed the game. How small time are the bitters proudly waving their Tevez shirts. Cunts.

Well done King Kenny. Yeah nice one.

  796. Costas says:

King Kenny at his best. Claming the universe’s balance is to blame for their loss!

“I don’t think anyone saw that coming. It is not a lack of concentration. Give them [QPR] a bit of credit as well.

Maybe the luck they didn’t get at Bolton [when a goal wasn't given to Rangers even though TV showed the ball was well over the line, and they lost 2-1 ], they got tonight.

There is not much I can say. I don’t have any answers to what happened.

“They never got what they deserved. That is life I suppose.”

  797. Utd4life says:

Well done QPR. As for Chelsea, though they didn’t throw away the match like I thought they would, it was pretty clear from their line up that they were going for the draw today. Anyways, fuck all of them, we win our remaining games and we are champions again. The ideal scenario would be to clinch the title at their stadium in front of their deluded fans. Oh, that would be so sweet.

  798. Lovin' United says:

Vermin getting humped by QPR – fucking great – and they have “the greatest midfielder since Sir Bobby C, sorting it out, and he’s dead cool and dead hard when doing some poor DJ v me and my 14 mates” – per Jamie Carragher

Patrick – “I passed the ball to Ryan Giggs” Viera now trying for the head games for Bobby Manc v SAF – well that’s like Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao v Ricky “the blue” Hatton over 15 rounds – SAF must be choking on his smoked salmon + capers with fear on that one.

May yet come down to a night in April – doubt it, very much doubt it – head games won – they now live in hope but fear is within their physc – it is apparent – Viera just admitted it.

“So if you are a City fan surrender or you will die” – you are still basically a second div team and have been since 1962 – only class you ever had was with Joe Mercer.

Message being – “City – remember your place” – you are second class “citizens” and have been since you fired Joe Mercer and for 10 years prior you were total shit

Now for you twats who say “RVP will win us the league and City will choke on the road, Stoke will do them ” – FUCK OFF – we are UNITED – we will do them at Eastlands – we will win it ourselves – you snivelling fuckers – learn how to be a UNITED fan. WE win it or we lose it- no options – only our way – only pride in our shirt.

FUCKING GREAT TO BE A REAL MANCHESTER UNITED LAD – WIN OR LOSE

    on the other hand,

lets not go over board, City winning is kinda good for us – we wont be complacent :) plus it will take the race down to the wire..

lets not fear the cunts, we know they arent playing good on the road..

having said, all that matters for us what we do, as long it is in our hands, no need to fear anything or anyone..

all i want is us to perform the best of the season at shittihad…that will do the job!!

    good day pal..

  806. Jeet says:

    Good morning, RoM!

I woke up today hoping for a nice birthday present from the Chavs….too much to expect from a CLLC managed team, I guess. Ohh well, never mind – we will have to do it the good old United way, and if it happens, it will be so much sweeter. BELIEVE.

In other sobering news, D Venkatesh , a 27 year old lower league player in Bangalore, collapsed and died of cardiac arrest yesterday. What’s terrible is the fact that there wasn’t any trained medical help, nor an ambulance at hand. The players had to commandeer a tuktuk and take him to the hospital, and by then ot was too late. RIP.

  807. Sandeep1878 says:

    Good morning Jeet,

Like I say, my fantasy is that all of RoM is having it out – all the debates, all the jokes and banter, in one huge pub. Maybe in Heaven there’s such a place for all true Reds – Sir Matt is the avuncular landlord, and Georgie Best is the resident band leader (after all, he is the fifth Beatle)!

na they’re biggest task will be beating us at the Etihad. we’re Manchester United, we smell blood and we’ll fucking pounce.

  812. Once a Devil always a Red DEVIL says:

@ Jeet – D Venkatesh was 23 years old .. our football is still in shambles :( wonder when we will have proper infra ..

  813. Busby babes says:

No side has had the amount of points that UNITED and city have at this stage of the season and not won the league. so something has got to give, with regards to last nites game i did’nt put to much emphasis on chelsea winning there if im honest.

  814. Jeet says:

Both rediff and indiatimes reporting 27, but that’s beside the point. Forget pitchside medical attention, this could happen to a jogger in a park, we dont have anything resempling a paramedic and emergency rescue system, something like a 911. And we keep paying 30% taxes, BUY safe drinking water, and watch while the fuckers loot the country dry. Makes my blood boil, and makes me feel so fucking helpless at the same time.

  815. Sandeep1878 says:

Yeah heard this sad story of a player’s death in Bangalore league :(

@ Once a Devil always a Red DEVIL

    buddy make no mistake,

it will take ages to be having top drawer medical facilities in India for footballers – all that India cares is about CRICKET..:(

  816. Balaji Sivaraman says:

    Good Afternoon ROM!

Sandeep, All that India cares about is Sachin, not Cricket. Never mind the fact that the man cost India a place in the final of the Asia Cup. Cricket and Indian team is secondary, Sachin is primary. Stark contrast to the club we support, eh?

Jeet, You better not read the papers today. If you start reading about the Coal Mining scam, I think we all will stop paying taxes altogether.

“Makes my blood boil, and makes me feel so fucking helpless at the same time.”

    That is about right.

  817. Busby babes says:

    Premeir league that is

  818. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Busby babes, I am in torontored’s boat as far as the title is concerned. My dad asked the same question and said he had hoped for a Chelsea win. I said City still have a number of away games but I am not really hoping on them dropping points there.

This title is in our hands and only one time have we not won the title in recent years from this sort of position. And that year a bad away performance to Blackburn and a certain Martin Atkinson were the reason. I wanted us to be within a game of City but we are better than that. We can win this at the Etihad stadium to rub it into them.

They’re already crumbling under Sir Alex’s mind game and it seems like it will only be a matter of time before their defense collapse. We’ll have to see to it that it happens.

  819. Sandeep1878 says:

    Balaji,

how are you getting along buddy?

Stark contrast to the club we support, eh?

Bang on.. at UNITED, nothing was/is and will be bigger than UNITED itself..and thats the way it should be…

  820. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Sandeep, On antibiotic medications for the next four weeks, so that is taking a toll on my body. Still doing fine buddy. How about you?

Yeah, every time I am in a discussion about the Indian cricket team, I invariably mention that we could learn a thing or two from United in letting go of heroes. However, that is not how it works here, is it? The selector himself is saying Sachin has to choose when he retires. Why is he paid to do a job then? LOL.

  821. CedarsDevil says:

    Morning all

Sigh, still on the same thread! Worry not fellow REDS, my son will sink the bitters!

I do agree with most though, its in our hands. Anyone got any links to highlights from the dippers match? I need to have a laugh

  822. CedarsDevil says:

In other news, happy birthday JEET!! Hope you had a blast…

    Balaji

At least you did not have to go under the knife right? Get well soon my friend

  823. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Hola Cedars, Thanks for the wishes my friend. Of course, you went missing, so couldn’t send a detailed mail buddy. :D :P

Yeah, for now, no surgery. But will have to visit the doc after the meds course is over just to get a final opinion. It turned out to be something Parryheid warned me about initially. He said he had the same problem and it was due to a bacterial infection and that was the same with me. The meds are for killing the infection. Once that is done, mostly surgery will not be needed.

    Balaji

That is good news in a way, always seek multiple opinions as I am sure you have. Regards to your loved ones, special mention to your dad

  826. Busby babes says:

Balaji i agree with your sentiment’s we get the job done then city’s results dont bare much relevance, if we we’re to continue winning we could even afford a draw there. dont think we will mind i do fancy UNITED to beat city at the counsel ground. watched the game with my m8′s in our local boozer lastnite and they claimed that had tevez played all season city would have been home and dry, for me that argument stand’s with vidic being fit, i applaud johnny evans he’s been quality in his absents, but vidic’s leadership at the back i feel at various times this season has been missed.

  827. Jeet says:

Thanks, Cedars! Got a little dinner planned with family tonight, blast is for Friday evening :)

Liverpool are a club of jokers, going from 2-0 up against QPR to losing. Kenny needs to go if they want to succeed. Too bad they think he’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. Oops, did I say too bad? I fucking love it!
