Fergie: We Battered Them And Hughes Needs To Get On With It

Sir Alex Ferguson has responded to the issue of the amount of injury time played but says that managers just need to get on with, however frustrating it is when it goes against you.

“I understand the frustration of Mark Hughes as the manager on the receiving end of a very late goal,” said Ferguson. “But City had the better of the first half and we battered them after the break. I’ve given up trying to understand how the fourth official and referee work out added time. I’m sure there is method in their madness. The big issue in the derby centred on the time added on with nearly seven minutes on top of normal play. However infuriating it is when it goes against you, we managers have to get on with it.”

Well said Sir Alex..indirectly telling Hughes to stop whinging like a baby!!

  2. aig alex is god says:

well said by SAf.why was there never an issue about the 5 minutes added on against Arsenal??where was this derek mcgovern or whoever that cunt is then??

If United score late goals questions are asked as to where the added time came from.If chelsea or dippers score they are praised for not giving up and going on till the final whistle.what cunts these writers are.clear double standards.

as so many people pointed out added time is for both sides and both sides can score.it is which side wants to win the game.city gave the ball away so many times in added time when they could have wasted time near the corner flag and go a point.

well done to our magnificent 11 and his 10 men (less ferdinand and foster) for playing to the final whistle. city showed that they lack the intuition to win these games and what tactics to play. hughes almost poked a whole through his bullet proof glass cover when tryng to get the attention of the 4th official. if you play for the draw you lack ambition. i think hughes should stop worrying about what is outside of his control and look at how he wants to make a winning side. defending bellamy, scalding neville and all this rubbish about the added time are distractions on his tactics after valencia came on and the inability of his team to get a point by digging in and defending. bellamy celebrated for a minute like he had won the european cup (they have more chance of winning a fairs cup). By the way I think we know hughes is never a successor to Sir Alex. It’s like that game Beat the Boss. None of them can!

What a magnificent game of football. thanks to the our guys for the 97 minutes of inspiration.

  4. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

City brat united 4-3 due to a 96th minute tevez goal, mark Hughes wouldn’t be sayin a thing, but the fact is the match wasn’t played till united scored it was played to the wistle and if city hadn’t of just sat on a point they could of takin the game to united and if not scored then brought the play into uniteda half stoppin them to score, I have never ever ever heard Hughes give out about the time added on for bruces winning header in the 96th minute in 1992, and like that extra time and Sundays it was just

  5. rachelreddevil says:

anyone hear mark huges say that shitty are dangerous from set pieces just because of some bad defending from fulham. he obviously wasnt watching on sunday when we has chances from nearly every set piece. don’t make me laugh

  6. cantona7 says:

Well said Sir Alex. At least Hughes is not as disturbed as a certain fat spanish waiter…

  7. 7seagulls says:

is anyone else rapidly losing any respect they once had for sparky? he is chatting so much shit at the mo! defending adebayor, then bellamy, then bitching and moaning bout the injury time, then his noisy neighbour shite… im upset that a united legend can turn like this

  8. david22hughes says:

hughes is becomming an expert at talking horseshit – lost all respect for the guy……his recent defence of adeybayors obvious stamp and bellamys action after the derby say it all…………off topic – here we go again with trying to replacing a great goalkeeper – v d sar may only last another season and from what ive seen kuzsatch or foster are not the answer………..here we go again……….

  9. Redsimmo says:

So after all the media hype, the confrontational utterings from both managers, the threat of another team to break into the top 4, the alledged threat to United’s supremacy (world wide let alone Manchester) and finally the Masters dished out an almighty lesson to the wannabe Bitters and put them firmly back into their place – a place so far away that £150M cant even get near an assist by an ex-graduate 35 year old and a match winner from a free transfer!

And yet if ever further proof be needed of the huge gulf which still remains between the red three quarters and blue quarter of Manchester then this was fully demonstrated on wednesday night…..

    Carling Cup attendance:
    Old Trafford – 51160
    Wastelands – 24507

You cant buy history – end of!

  10. Red-Manc says:

It just shows how smalltime hughes and city still are, even after all their spending a draw against United is still their aim, at 3-3 the added time is for BOTH TEAMS, its not ‘let United attack time’ city could of tried to push for the winner in that time to, but instead they were more than happy to settle for a draw and it back fired.

Added time is for both teams, the fact hughes is so deluded and small time to realise that is quite laughable, their was the same chance city could of got a winner if only they tried so its their own fault.

OHHHHHHHHHHH CITY ARE A MASSSIIVVEEEE CLUB!

  11. livewia says:

Hughes is a legend no more…

  12. Raj says:

There was some statistic showing man utd get more added time at OT when they are drawing or losing the game. When other teams are winning, they are usually winning it by only 1 goal so they try to hold on to it. They try to run down the clock by wasting time at every opportunity that’s why more time is added on and it’s the same case when other teams are drawing. Every team thinks it’s a good result to get a point at OT.

  13. Red-Manc says:

Raj, there was some statistic on skysports and the bbc showing that on the derby the match ended 1 second later than it should of.

sky sports also showed Manchester United get the LEAST amount of added time out of all clubs in the premier league, with i think Bolton getting the most.

Very bitter and deluded if even that doesnt shut you up.

  14. Raj says:

Red-Manc, what are you talking about. I just gave my opinion why more time is added on at OT when man utd are loosing or drawing. I didn’t say it’s becoz of SAF influence. I said other teams waste time when they(other teams) are winning or drawing against man utd. Please read the comment carefully first.

  15. theboogeyman says:

Red-Manc-Raj is on our side and he’s pointing out why we get more extra time when we’re trailing than other teams.

And we are 16th highest in the table of who gets the most added time.

  16. Giuseppe Rossi says:

he’s a nob head and i wish someone would sort him out

  17. thedevil85 says:

cant wait for weekend, need to keep this winning streak going for as long as poss, end of the season will do for me without defeat, them rateaters make me laugh how it was there year again but its all gone quiet at shanfield, pathetic jokers with their fat spanish waiter!

  18. Mark the Devil says:

When bellend got the equaliser then surely the momentum was with the bitters. If they have pretensions to challenge united and to prove they are a big club (yes i know), they should have gone for the win. FIOS. Oh and by the way hughes is a 1st class cunt.

  19. averio68 says:

What next? A sheet a paper with some facts. Someone tell him to shut up already

  20. Xyth says:

It looks like silly money has battered Hughes’ brain as well!!!!

  21. Ulster Red says:

lloking forward to the return at watselands..can we not play citeh every week its fucking great

  22. smokebreaksteve says:

Well said Sir Alex.Have got zero respect for serial whinger Hughes. He will get the push as soon as the meglomaniac owners get somone more high profile in their sights and then he can fuck off back to Blackburn when Big Sam gets the push.
Couldn’t give a fuck about his comments about added time, like ‘Mark the Devil’ said, if anybody had the momentum it was City and they had as much chance to grab a winner and Hughes would have said nothing then.
What really gets up my nose with Hughes is the comments he made about Garry Neville celebrating our goal knowing full well the guy was on an FA warning after the Liverpool game. What makes it worse was that Neville was a former team mate, the pathetic bitter blue twat. Was he not there in 1993 when we won in added time against Sheffield Wednesday and everyone ran round like lunatics.
Like Fergie said ‘Get on with it’ you fuckin loser.

  23. rachelreddevil says:

i agree with 7seagulls i have lost alot of respect for mark hughes when he went to blackburn he spoke of united with as much repect as most of our ex players. but ever since the bitters got a bit of money he almost thinks has a higher sense of entitlement. it’s about time someone put him and his mercernaries into touch we started that on sunday. shay given was harping on about it today aswell they really need to let it go

  24. Red-Manc says:

Raj I apologise, i misread your comments, sorry mate.

  25. Bob Koh says:

Every one is implying ManCity will finish amongst the top 6 or even 4. Are you so sure? I, for one, thinks maybe not. CITY IS A MID-TABLE TEAM this season. Mark my ‘huge’ words (intended!).

  26. jimmy bob says:

go on sir alex put that whingeing cry baby in his place.
Hughes will be on the dole this time nexyt year

great player for us but a total wanker since he joined city

  27. Dave Mack says:

Happy to see that noone is referring to Hughes as Sparky anymore! As I said in a post earlier this week. Sparky was a player who gave his all for United. Hughes is a bluenose twat who’s won nothing and thinks he has the right to disrespect Fergie just because he’s got Arab millions backing him.
(Note how SAF addresses his negative comments to MCFC, the club and remains civil re Hughes the manager. That’s class and that’s what Hughes has yet to learn.)

SPARKY is DEAD to this SITE!!!

  28. Datnana says:

Well said, Sir! Come to think about it, against Arsenal had it not been for the offside case, it was an equaliser lots of seconds after added time. It happens! And don’t think referees don’t enjoy an entertaining game. The ref wanted to see more. But forgive Sparky, he’s got to pretend to be a tough coach, especially against his former employers, else you know what the media would say.
