Fergie: Wolves Can Be Top Club Again

Sir Alex Ferguson is full of praise for Wolves ahead of our League Cup fixture at Old Trafford this evening.

“More recently I used to be a regular visitor to Molineux because my son Darren played there for four years, and I would go down to watch him whenever I wasn’t involved with Manchester United,” said Ferguson. “So I got to know and like the club all over again. It has something about it, and I always felt that if someone could really get hold of the place and give it a good shaking, they could be a top club again. They certainly have the history and tradition, and it’s good to see them back in the top division. It’s where they belong.”

It would be nice to see City go down then.

  2. Alan the Manc says:

    a GOOD shaking

  3. Corea says:

    so stupid. poor Fabio.

  4. Sketch says:

Poor Fabio? Poor Macheda more like. He had to come off because our defenders couldnt defend properly causing Fabio to commit a foul in order to not concede.

  5. KJ says:

I’m watching it right now, I’m not sure exactly what fabio was thinking. At first it looked like he just slipped, but reply shows he lifted he arms! Let’s hope it doesn’t cost us! I’m more sad for Macheda anyways!

  6. devil@singapore says:

professional foul, no choice, got to go. poor macheda, lose his chance to shine.

  7. Tony Starks says:

Anyone watching the game? Fabio a bit unlucky slipping at the vital moment… What was Wes Brown doing though.. gonna be a good test from now

  8. Tony Starks says:

It’s almost always the same problem with Nani – he has fantastic ability but almost always takes more touches than is necessary – I don’t believe he will ever change.. Kusczak look solid so far

  9. Corea says:

it’s only Carling Cup but Fabio was really dissapointed. i love the player, so for me it’s poor Fabio.
let’s hope Brown, Evans etc won’t get injuried. everything else would be a bonus.

  10. devil@singapore says:

inexperience i suppose. he’s also trying to prevent a goal. he will learn a great deal from this fabio. have faith…we are seeing alot of the ball. gibson & welbeck are showing good movement. pleased to see.

  11. Tony Starks says:

To be honest I would much prefer Macheda on the pitch instead of Owen, we all know what Owen can do, the kid really needed this top level exposure

  12. aig alex is god says:

shitty full strength 0 fukham kids 1.ha ha

  13. Tony Starks says:

One thing though.. I know he’s not flavour of the month, but Michael Carrick just looks so cool on the ball.. he’s like the Fanz (happy days) of football!…

  14. parth312 says:

Owen to nick a goal somehow

  15. TonyBee says:

Nani is so shit its not true….

  16. devil@singapore says:

    @tony starks
agreed. some good passes from carrick today. he just need to smile abit more, that’s all haha. macheda’s lost is de laet gain. no worries fabio…rafael still injured ya? you juz need to throw on rafael’s jersey in the next match. u wont be missing any match tough guy!

jokes aside..tot we play quite okay in the first half. seeing alot of the ball. hope owen can nick us a goal in the 2nd half…has been quiet so far.

  17. Ulster Red says:

nani so poor..get valencia on asap…

  18. parth312 says:

Heard Hargo is back at Carrington. Fingers crossed on him returning successfully to playing good football. How good will our midfield be then huh?
Fletch, Ando, Carrick, Scholesy and Hargo. Like the sound of that.

  19. Tony Starks says:

Ha! I love the idea of Fabio playing in Rafa’s shirt!

  20. devil@singapore says:

    @Ulster Red

nani’s doing okay. patient. if we dont even give him a chance in CC, where the fuck u want him to play? He’s seeing alot of the ball i 1st half. rooting for him to pass for owen to score tonite.

  21. Tony Starks says:

I was really hoping to see Joshua King come on today but with 10 men that is unlikely now..

  22. Sketch says:

    DANNY !

  23. parth312 says:

    DANNNNNNYYYY WELLLLBECKKKK!!

  24. devil@singapore says:

very good goal welbeck. compose finish. has been playing well so far this game. so so happy to see our youngster do well.

  25. five says:

Nani’s final ball has really been poor today although hes looked dangerous everytime hes gone forward…if he can just fix the final ball we have one hell of a player on our hands.

Delighted that Welbecks got a goal, Fabio took one for the team, I am sure it wont affect him adversely

    Hoping Tosic gets on

  26. five says:

    Here comes Joshua King

  27. parth312 says:

@Tony starks.. U got ur wish mate.. King is on..

  28. Tony Starks says:

Hey the King is on.. this player has fantastic potential

  29. devil@singapore says:

u are right tony…not too bad this king.

  30. andsolskjaerhaswonit... says:

really pleased to see Welbeck on the scoresheet, i rate him higher than Kiko, infact.

  31. Tony Starks says:

yes he reminds me of a young Ronaldo (the original fat one).. I predict he will be better than Macheda..

Well done kids, nice win! Fabio can play in the next game as Rafael!

  32. Tony Starks says:

Talkin bout King that is, Wellbeck also good – more like Kanu mixed with Cantona?

  33. Sketch says:

    FT.
    Good performance by everyone.
Lol at Da Laet at the end. Ha. He seriously needs to work on his shooting.
Good goal by Danny. King looks very pacey and has a lot of potential. Gutted about Macheda getting taken off. :(

  34. parth312 says:

Good game. De laet was good. Nice strike from Welbeck.

  35. devil@singapore says:

good game, good runout, good results.
    stoke next.

  36. Long John O'Shea says:

Id be starting Gibson before Carrick from now…

  37. Tony Starks says:

Every time De Leet has played he has been very impressive – every time! (apart from that shot)

  38. Welbz19 says:

@longjohnoshea u serious? Gibson strolls about like he’s made it already the lad seriously needs to knuckle down!
De laet was very impressive tonight, danny did well, Joshua king look very sharp when he came on, gutted we didn’t get to see eikrem he’s been different class for the reserves so far this year!

  39. fooart9 says:

i love this de laet kid…our fullback position looking secured…King has a lot of potential..work hard kid and be the real King
