Sir Alex Ferguson has asked the players to focus on our home form, claiming that a brilliant run of results at home put us in a great position for winning the league.
So far, we’ve only dropped 2 points at home, whilst Chelsea have dropped 10 points and Liverpool have dropped 8 points. This weekend will be our first really tough game at home though, playing our first really strong side of the season at home.
However, last season we dropped just 4 points at home, whilst Chelsea dropped 14 and Liverpool dropped 15. Our home form is something we do tend to do well with and with more homes games to play in the second half of the season, we’re finally seeing some advantages of the fixture list swing in our favour.
“Our home form has to be 100 per cent to give us an outstanding chance of winning the league,” said Ferguson. “In the run-in, you’re always going to drop points. We’ve dropped points in the run-in in the past, but you just hope you don’t drop as many points as other teams. That’s what it comes down to. But, obviously, our home record, which is good, needs to be that again. The two games we have in hand gives us the opportunity to close the gap on those clubs at the top. Those two games are at home and it’s important we take advantage of that. But the first thing is to win Sunday’s game. That’s the one that can set us on our way.”

Man Utd News 24/7

lets not forget we played easier oponents at home in the first part of the season.
and the reason why we are so close to the top is that out opossition has dropped points at home. it will be very close but tomorrow it’s a must win game for me. but the draw won’t be the end of the world.
Corea is right,we have some tough ones at home.Let me just say this. You can win the title with a draw on Sunday. You cannot win the title if you don’t win at West Brom or Bolton
Are you mental? We’ve gotta play the tough games anyway, wouldnt you rather have them at home than away?
i really think u guys can win the title with a slight advantage fixture wise, but i think there is a twist in the tale somewhere… u really need someone to step up and start scoring goals , the defense is fantastic the last goal conceded in the league was away to ARSENAL! ages ago! score some bloody goals and u run away with the league, while I get it right for the second season running!!!
Davetian of course it is easier to play the tough games at home. However i still believe that the League will be decided on our away form.We don’t have any top sides away but we have some teams fighting for survival. These games are always tricky.
the goals will come. we are creating chances, that is important.
Berba will come good. i am sure.
the only negative moment is Tevez’s display against Derby. it is a worrying point.
hey corea, dont be worried about Tevez matte. dont forget it was away to Derby County, a place we struggled last season as well. i really doubt there is anything wrong with Tevez’s approach to the team and the game at the moment.
looking forward to a good match, hope Rooney gets on the board!
there are rumours that Carlos is not in the squad to play Chelsea tomorrow. Anderson as well.
Carlos Tevez can make an impact on any game, so I would be shocked if he was match fit and didn’t play! Anderson, I can understand if he didn’t make the bench. We have Fletch, Carrick and Scholes, as well as Park who can play midfield.
It was funny listening to Fat Frank the other week, saying United didn’t make the most of Chelsea slipping up and losing ‘easy’ points. Sorry Lampard, but surely when United have 2 games in hand and are right up your arses it is Chelsea who have not made the most of things!
Also, yes we have tough games at home… but the rest of our title rivals have more tough away games than we do at home. So, from now forward, the advantage is with us. If we don’t make the most of it, we are the only ones to blame…
Huge game tomorrow, depending on dippers tonight we can just about afford a draw tomorrow if it really came down to it. A united win 2-0 Rooney and Berba.
