He's our talisman now Ron's gone, and there's a lot of expectations and pressure piled on him so captaining him would be too much at the moment. Plus Rooney's main target this season is to score regularly and that's what he's going to be focusing on. I would give the armband to Fletcher considering Rio's injuries. With his drive and energy he'd make an excellent team leader, we're lacking one this season. I agree with Fergie, Rooney isn’t ready to captain utd yet.
