Carlitos never improved on his play as a 17/18-year old sensation at Boca Juniors. He got heavier and slower, too. He was third-choice for Argentina and Diego Maradona told him that he had to be playing first-team club footie to be considered for a chance of dislodging his own son-in-law (Sergio Aguero) to be paired with Lionel Messi in the World Cup. And, he has clearly stated on numerous occasions that he wanted to go back to Buenos Aires before he was thirty.

Add those things up – a player who peaked early and has other commitments – and you have a very bad investment

yea… I have voiced the same thing over and over again.

25 mil (on top of the 10 mil we have spent) for a 3rd choice striker, 150000 pounds per week contract .. forget it.
