   The ABU press can’t wait to write us off. Two bad results are all it takes for them to write our obituaries. That said, call me a pessimist but I don’t expect miracles from this United side. While the Leeds game was a nightmare, the lads gave their all against Brum. There just isn’t enough quality in the side. The way Chel$ki and the Goons are playing, we might still scrape the title but success in Europe seems close to impossible.

   Except in the unlikely event that hargo recovers or in the unlikelier event that Fergie snaps up a player or two this December.

   To reiterate all that Scott’s said, we’re not anywhere far off the top and we’ve had worse periods in recent years when we’ve been disappointingly insipid and didnt look interested. Lille springs to mind and more recently Liverpool and Fulham last year. We arent playing well now by any means but to still be 2nd’s a great position, the players have got to work hard, stand up and be counted and exhibit the bounce-backability which have defined United.

   People forget that we’re at our most dangerous when we’ve been written off and got our backs to the wall. We’ll never die.
