After turning on the water works in Moscow, not supporting a single of his team mates following the penalty shoot out defeat in the European Cup final, Fabio Capello made the bizarre decision of giving John Terry the captain’s armband for England. Maybe it was out of sympathy? Maybe it was out of pity? Who knows?
Here are some of the articles written on RoM around the time of that silly decision: The Self Sacrifice of Rio Ferdinand, The Perfect Captain – Terry Better Than Rio?, Support for Rio, and Giggs thought Rio should have got it.
Some sanity has been restored in the England set up though, with Terry finally paying the price for generally just not being a nice guy. After cheating on his wife and mother of his children countless times, someone has finally kicked Terry out on his arse (and it’s not his wife, who has taken him back!). Turns out that some people do still value their morals in football, even if the Chelsea fans cooing over him don’t, with Capello deciding that shagging the mother of a friend and team mate’s child is unacceptable behaviour.
Well done Capello! Well done Rio! Boo hoo Terry.
See what The Chelsea Blog thinks of the decision.

Man Utd News 24/7

Its good that we have Terry out now, but as much as we all love Rio, I think England will actually suffer by having such an injury prone skipper.
Cheerio terry, finally gettin wot u deserve!!!!
I personally feel the lives of footballers on and off the field should not be connected. Both Terry and rio are excellent leaders, cant be denied. It was a close call in the first place when he appointed terry. While rio has got his once tarnished reputation back on track, Terry has gone backwards.
Anyways, all the best Rio!!!
OFF TOPIC – Have we got anything sorted for the cup final as regards Green and Gold!!! Wembley Cup Final would deffo get us noticed. Any plans?
It had to be Rio.i’ve always believed in his leadership qualities;not coz he plays for us but coz of his commanding presence at the back & his reading of the game! Congratulations Rio, you deserve it!
REEEE-OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Congrates my man
Aig- He’s injury prone yes but I hate to say it..Gerrard is a very able vice captain. Rio is not Ledley King like in terms of injuries yet he should still start every game in the world cup if he remains injury free theres no permanent damage like there is for King
No way Terry should have remained captain if he fucked a random persons wife I would be disgusted but you could still make a case for not mixing personal-professional. Terry did it to a fellow england players wife how do you walk into the locker room and sit down and respect someone who clearly doesnt respect you as hes gone behind you to boff your woman?
I do think Footballers lifes are connected on and off the pitch. Imagine your captain sleeping with many different girls and drink a lot of beers. I don’t think fergie happy to let him be our captain. It’s connected.
He should have chosen Rio as captain from the beginning. I wish they can drop him from the whole team too, just to ruin his life. I rate him as a player but he has a despisable personality.
I think arriving 10 minutes late for the CC final would be a better option than the AC Milan game. The Champions League game will certainly have a larger audience but it is much more important and the players will be needing as much support as possible from the fans. I am not saying the CC final is unimportant, but the players will less likely be affected by fans arriving late and singing anti-glazer chants because they won’t be under pressure to win a game against opponents who we can undoubtedly beat. We have played Villa this season, lost against them but at least we know how we will face them this time. AC Milan however are a different case; they have tons of experience, a good manager and a good record against us which is why fans at OT must be belting out support for the players on the night.
Congrats to Rio. If Capello’s decision 2 years ago was influenced by Rio’s drug suspension, then justice has been done today.
One thing is for sure. On Sunday’s game, Skysports cameras will show him all the time and God forbid if he scores!
@GHTT
Thanks for the vid mate. That was quality. I like the blouse!
should be*
The Chelsea Cum-Bucket – Vanessa Perenium has decided “NOT” to sell her story after all…………………………………YET !
The statement read out on behalf of the “oh so hard done by” slapper seem to be the pre-cursor to her high court legal claim that she has been slandered and now wants to sue the papers involved.
Once she has squeezed what she can out of certain papers that are unable to “prove” some of the recent stories, Max Clifford will be on hand for the final coup de grace.
She will then ” reveal all” in a News of the World exclusive followed by the OK exclusive of her relaxing at home with her baby after the recent troubles and then the ultimate WAG kiss and tell book.
I can see it now – ” MY CHELSEA BUKAKKE SHAME ” Read all about it !
Docherty had to go when he banged the physio’s wife so not sure why a lot of people are saying personal life shouldn’t effect football life.
Five
i never said rio is injury prone and should not be made captain.
Just my opinion.on the field he performed well.thats what must matter.
I’m made up for Rio. But, it’ll always be United > England.
Terry really benefited from the FA’s favouritism & protection from the refs. He was in their good books always & turned a blind eye to whatever ills he did.of course if they could they would have let him off the hook for this one too! It’s just that the media pressure was too intense this time round. And since the FA’s policy is to favour the incubent captain ,let them start by wiping away that 4-game ban on the captain-elect! (not my policy, their policy).
Read Carefully….
Thats one option. The other possibility is the 5 (and I say 5 as my lowest estimate) have each payed her one weeks wages to keep quiet. A weeks wages is a amall price to play to save a marriage/career and will give the slag half a million to look like a woman who has shunned the papers for the sake of her family!
Rio still has fitness issues, lets not forget that. I think this solution is a temporary one until after the World Cup. I am of the opinion that someone younger and fitter should be made captain after that.
Someone has to step up. It maybe too much pressure for Rooney
Rio has his injury problems,Gerrard isnt getting younger this is likely Beckhams last tourny
Hargreaves a possible candidate, hes fucked with injuries. Lampard like Gerrard,Terry-scum,Ashley Cole? HA!,
Who does that leave? …Barry? hardly inspirational
five
this is a temporary solution i think. once the WC is over Rooney will get it on a permanent basis.
I have to give Capello credit he could easily have bottled the decision and came up with some excuse to keep Terry. Capello is one of the few modern managers who is willing to back up his words with his actions.
Congrats to Rio!!!
@five
What about Heskey or James, lol?
After the World Cup, I think it will be Rooney’s time.
who give’s a fuck
united>england
If John Terry or his “advisors” had a modicum of decency, then he would have done the obvious honourable thing and fallen on his sword.
The fact he thought that he was bigger than the England Captaincy just highlights what a low class, deluded cunt of a spoilt brat he really is.
John Terry First, Money second, Chelsea Third, England Fourth wife and kids somewhere down the list after his cars and his favourite jeans.
He could have shown a touch of unselfish behaviour by resigning his position but NO – Instead Capello is forced to cut short his recuperation from surgery and be dragged in to deal with Terry`s totally unacceptable behaviour.
Whatever anyone says by way of excusing Terry, his private life is his own, this is between him and his wife etc can not be allowed to forget that his behaviour and HIS behaviour alone has affected Capellos ability to pick the best team for the World Cup.
Wayne Bridge could play for England but may not want to or be considered capable of performing with the man he despises in the same team.
So what does Capello do ? pick someone else ? drop John Terry ? He cannot play them together and he knows that will be a distraction that could be avoided by Terry behaving like a Captain and not a sneaky cheating cunt who shits on his mates and England teammates.
Capello has done part one of what needed to be done.
Capello is a smart man and knows that between now and the World Cup Terry or Bridge could be injured and unavailable.
If they are both available and both have shown the form that deserves selection then John Terry will not be named in the squad and Bridge will.
Losing the Captaincy was the first stage and if Bridge is a selction choice then Terry wont be going and stage 2 will kick in – the final dumping of Terry, flushed away like the slimy shit he is.
Mark my words, Capello wont fuck about and he is looking at the long game. He has dumped Terry as Captain and will not hesitate to get rid of him altogether……… when the time is right.
forget Rio…Give it to Heskey!!! lol
Frankly I think if you want the role of captain to be anything more than symbolic then it ought to go to a midfielder. You can’t lead from the back in a game of football. Nor can a centre back really lead by example, if your team is dominating the opposition (as you’d want them to) then the centre back is not going to have much to do.
Personally if I wanted England to win the world cup above all else I’d give the captaincy to Rooney. However I don’t want him distracted at United, so I don’t care where it goes. Rio getting the nod ought to at least give him a bit of confidence.
Hi,
I think Capello is definately a man of principles and, therefore, it was inconceivable that Terry should remain as England captain. This man is quite clearly a bag of shit, totally undeserving of the esteem that comes with being the Captain of Englands football team.
Congratulations Rio!!! You should have been made the captain in the first place. Let´s hope for an injury free run ´till the end of the World Cup.
Come on you MIGHTY REDS!!!
there is no way they’ll add an extra match and a missed game in a carling cup final on to THE NEW ENGLAND CAPTAIN now would they
does this mean Rio can Rugby tackle the last man and get a red card taking off him
oh well. congrats Rio for getting the opportunity to captain your country. personally, i couldnt care less who captains that shower of shite. UNITED>ENGLAND ALWAYS!!!
You make a good point RCWIS, Capello is every bit the cut-throat bastard the national team needed, and now that he’s shown his hand and proved he doesn’t fuck about I don’t think he’d hesitate to drop Terry either. Bridge is supposedly the only Left Back alternative to Cole, so Capello HAS to take Bridge, especially as Cole isn’t immune to injury. Terry on the other hand is easier to replace as more players play Centre Half.
having Terry and Bridge on the same team for the WC is a big no no, and Capello’s shown he’s not dumb. He knows a new bomb shell could drop right before or during the WC, the Papers will continue to make bigger and bigger offers for the “slappers story” – Capello knows all that, so surely he knows the best move is to NOT have Terry there in the first place to limit the damage he’s already done. I think Terry knows it too, 12 minutes ? Sounds like he got the Kiss of Death from the GodFather. Bridge has to go ahead of Terry, because his position at Left Back is less covered. Capello strikes me as a logical man of reason. I can’t see him over-estimating Terry’s worth like half of the Country. Terry is replaceable, Ashley Cole isn’t…
As for RIO, of course he should be CAPTAIN OF ENGLAND.
And Gerrard should be Vice Captain.
Why ? Because in the England set up who are the 3 players with the most experience as Captains ? Rio, Terry and Gerrard. Its really fuckign simple, the only country in the world that complicates the Captaincy of the national team is ENGLAND. Capello used LOGIC to come to his conlusion of narrowing it down to those three players. Unfortunately LOGIC isn’t something you can atribute to the English National Team nor the English FA. Why would anybody make Wayne Rooney Captain of England RIGHT NOW ? He’s 24 years old and hitting top form, let the boy play his football !!! he’s already had a NOOSE tied around his neck by the Media after the WinkGate Affair, im sure he’ll be in no rush to lead England ANYWHERE at all.
Rio is the obvious candidate, he has more experience than Terry AND Gerrard so why is his selection causing confusion in the Media ? Whenever people are asked, most so called experts all point to anybody but Rio. Bizarre.
LOGIC tells you he should have been awarded the Captaincy after he became CHAMPION OF ENGLAND & CHAMPION OF EUROPE but hey ? I guess Capello isn’t completely immune to Media Bollocks afterall. Im sure he wanted to pick Rio first time, he took long enough deciding on Terry. For the sake of England Fans I hope Capello keeps cutting throats. Thats whats needed.
I couldnt care less about England, just hope the united players do well…,
All those little englander wankers supporting our players then booing and chanting obscene chants at them when the wear our shirt..
UNITED>england
AWESOME!!! Rio gets his rightful.. rights. He’ll do gr8 in the world cups, cant wait for him to return for United
@PaulParker
I could not agree more mate – Capello does not play the game (media and all ) the way other England managers have. We are not dealing with Steve Mcclaren here. No – Capello is playing chess not checkers.
If Bridge is not fit or playing atrociously then Terry travels to SA (perhaps)
The best revenge Bridge can have on Terry is to make himself a shoe-in for selection.
You rightly point out that he is the only competition for Ashley Cole and should Cole be injured then he is the No 1 pick.
Capello is the smartest man in the room when it comes to the FA, the hack journalists and certainly the England dressing room and will already have positioned himself two moves ahead.
Removing the England Captain from the England World cup squad would be too big for everyone to swallow at once.
So how do you eat an Elephant ? The answer is of course one bite at a time.
First you remove him as Captain – done.
Then you dont do anything else – done.
The squad for South Africa has yet to be named and when it is, if John Terry is not included then Capello has not done anything he has just named his squad and Terry (not the captain anymore, just another hopeful) is not in it along with many others including maybe Michael Owen and Owen Hargreaves.
Check mate.
Congratulations Rio! and well done Capello.
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO:-)
Terry has been Champions League defender of the year for the last 3 years in a row. Food for though when we talk about the Terry v Rio situation.
I really thought that Terry would keep the armband…… blame the FA for me thinking that way….. But Capello has really shown some backbone throwing
Terry out after just 12 minutes……
Congrats Rio
@alpha_rs
In 07-08 Rio was robbed when they named Terry defender of the year. He cried himself to that award. As far as last season goes, I think Vidic was better all around.
Anyway, there is no doubt that Terry is currently a better defender than Rio. Unfortunately, his off pitch behavior is what landed him in hot water. I remember the biggest arguement against Rio when they were both vying for the armband, was that he missed the drugs test. Well, if Terry was perceived as a role model outside the pitch then, he is not anymore.
Did someone seriously just claim Champions League Defender of the year as a reason Terry should be captain and not Rio?
Who actually captained their side to a Champions League final win? Rio was coolness personafied in the final at moscow and a fit Rio/Vidic might have kept Barca at bay!
Its not a bombshell it was always Terry/Rio/Gerrard, take Terry out and its Rio..a third name now needs to be included in this list
And as for Bridge being the only back up, Stephen Warnock is in with a shout too I think
A question guys. Has Phil Neville retired from international duty? He could be a good squad player for England as a left back and a central midfielder.
Well done Fabio Capello – you are exactly the sort of no – nonsense manager that England has been crying out for! You accept nothing but the highest standards from your players on and off the pitch and you’ve earned my respect.
Congratulations to Rio Ferdinand – it’s been a long time coming but you’ve finally made it to the top of the pile – why not celebrate by giving us another league and cup double?
Again mate, Agreed. Absolutely spot on.
My apathy towards the england team has everything to do with the managment and beuracacy surrounding it. Why should the appointed national head coach have to operate like a Papal Assassin? Between them at the international level these pencil pushers have managed to waste an abundant amount of english talent, including everybody from Ian Wright to David Beckham via Gazza. Its a crime. Between 1990 and 2010, how can the Selection of Players produced in this Country be so unsuccesful? EVEN GREECE WON A FUCKING CUP. maybe the problems are due to the SUN newspaper and the like believing that they alone are the true head coach of England, and by extention know best. Thankfully Capello offers something completely new, and thats a mind of his own. I agree that his manoeuvring is very deliberate. Heaven forbid he simply spoke his mind. England managers in recent years have just been play-things of the Media, and all the Media do is pander to what the “fans” want. to make the point of how stupid this has been, when Andy Cole was top England Striker the manager and media refused to place faith in him for reasons unknown considering he was on FIRE, same with Ian Wright. Still, they both did better then Bent, when Darren was top England Striker and he didn’t even GO. some how you can’t see Capello making the same choice if Andy Johnson or Darius Vassel suddenly returned to become top english striker this year. Only in England does the official top striker, for some bizarre reason, not go to a World Cup. Unfucking Believable. Kevin Phillips is another example. Thats why Capello choosing to make the basic decision of removing Terry appears to be re-inventing the wheel or discovering fire. Thats why it appears to be a sign from God himself, because he’s actually making his decisions based on LOGIC instead of pandering to God knows who. England has been starved of Real Managerial… anything, for a long time. Obviously im still skeptic of the England team, but I’ll admit that I am an admirer of Capello’s tenure thus far. If he keeps it up and actually picks a team based on the needs of the tournament, rather then just public opinion which is clearly shot to hell, maybe England might just progress further then they usually do. And maybe I’ll support them, but until then the England set up is a Joke that topped being funny a long time ago. Eitherway its really sad.
My main concern throughout this “scandal” was hoping Hull nicked some points in the League. How said is that for the state of the National Game.
beat me to it FIVE, I was about to say the same thing to Alpha RS.
they only gave that award to Terry because they felt sorry for him.
Im sure Drogba probably got best striker too, doesn’t really amount to fuck all when its all said and done tho does it ? hahahaha
Player of the Tournament Awards ? BOLLOCKS.
The best Players in the Tournament walk away with the GLORRRRRY !!!!
…and Captains don’t sit down and cry. If your the one throwing an arm around your snivelling, damp, sorry arse Captain, something is wrong.
FUCK TERRY !!!!! FUCK CHELSEA !!!!!
COME ON YOUR GUNNERS !!!! I HOPE YOU BAHTAH THUM !!!
@Costas
I agree mate. When we won the champions league Rio was robbed.
He was also robbed of the England captaincy as he won the league and the champions league. What did Terry win?!
At the moment though I’d agree Terry is a better defender than Rio.
Vidic against Terry would be a close run though.
Rio got shafted by the FA too when he missed that drugs test with that 8 month ban. That city player also missed the drugs test and got no ban.
I don’t have much sympathy for Terry or his wife or Bridges gal. Wayne Bridge is the real victim here and I think he is a proper bloke for not selling his story to the press or making a statement about the situation.
I also have no sympathy for the majority of WAGS who grow up wanting the get with rich stars for the easy life. I mean what kind of example is that to set to youngsters. That these gals know good looks can get you an easy life?
I got no sympathy for the England team either and I hope they do shite at the World Cup. FFS even Greece won the European Championships a while back. All the villification of Beckham and Ronaldo. It won’t be long until they find another scape goat at United. Rio will score an own goal or Rooney will miss a penalty. It always happens.
beat me to it FIVE, I was about to say the same thing to Alpha RS.
they only gave that award to Terry because they felt sorry for him.
Im sure Drogba probably got best striker too, doesn’t really amount to fuck all when its all said and done tho does it ? hahahaha

Anyway, fuck Terry and Chelsea.
COME ON YOU GUNNERS… I HOPE YOU BAHTAH THUM !!!!!
hands down Rio has as good as won his appeal now , haha , anyway whats with the utd fans backing terry on their blog ??? one of them is even slating Rio ?? so glad that cunt terry has got his , thinks hes fucking god , i dont care for england but im glad for Rio !!!
of the topic check this pethetic article there is a little piece that pissed me right off and made me laugh.
http://www.itv.com/sport/football/news/premierleague/exclusives/itvspyifarsenalloseatchelseafabregascouldbeonhisway2356/default.html
this is what this idiot said
But that defeat to United starkly highlighted the gulf between the two sides and most people think Chelsea are, in fact, much better than Sir Alex Ferguson’s men.
can someone tell me who are these people who think chelsea are much better much better is this guy taking the piss, because its a 2 pts gap and chelseas victory over united was robbery. teqnically united should be 2 pts ahead. chelsea have got to be the most overated side in prem history they are awful. he should also ask himself ferdinand and vidic have hardly started together add our injurys, with ronaldo and tevez gone and the gap is 2 pts
there is no fact chelsea are not that much better than united. the fact is united are champions and united are that much better fact
Guess I didn’t have to write that twice. lol.
Different Topic, has anybody read that “new” Anderson interview? I got it emailed from MANUTD.COM he said quite alot so I’ll paste it. I couldn’t find the interview on the website so I can’t post a link, maybe I missed it? The email came with a Becks interview talking about the 1st Leg so Im hoping the Ando interview is recent too
here it is:
Sir Alex described Anderson as having “a face like a bag of tripe when I don’t play him” in a typically dry-witted assessment of his midfielder’s reaction to being left out of the team. It’s rare to see the boy from Porto Alegre (literally ‘Joyous Port’) not grinning. So he hopes there’s plenty to smile about for the remainder of the season…
How do you think this season has gone for you?
>I feel it’s gone quite well. I’ve played in a few games and I think I’ve done well. I’m very happy to be at United. I hope that I can be here for a long time and do even better for the team in the future.
Sir Alex says you always look so unhappy when he doesn’t pick you. Does that sum up your determination to play for United?
>Yes, I think so. No footballer is happy when they are out of the team. If you’re not bothered being on the bench or in the stands you will never be successful, certainly not at a club like United. You have to be unhappy if you’re not in the team. But even when I am not included I always support my team-mates. I’d love to start every match, but when this doesn’t happen I support my colleagues because we’re a team and we stick together.
How tough is it competing with so many other top midfielders at United?
>I see it as a great challenge. It’s good to have competition around you because that’s the way to get the best out of players. If everyone is competing for places, the performance levels will always be higher.
You’ve played in a number of different roles – an advanced midfielder, more defensively, or wide left – do you have a preferred role?
>I prefer to play further up the pitch in a more attacking role because I think that suits my game. And the system that Manchester United play gives me the freedom to do what I do best. So I prefer a more attacking role.
You’ve said you’re still not satisfied with your scoring record. Are you working on improving in that department?
>I’ve been doing everything I can to improve but, of course, no player that plays in my position is happy if they score just one goal in one season. I want to add goals to my game, and I’m always trying my best. I want to do well here, I feel happy here. But to me the goalscoring record isn’t a problem, if it doesn’t happen this season then I know it will come next season. I cannot, and will not, give up trying to achieve that. I’m happy with the way my career is developing.
United have suffered a lot of injuries this term. But with players coming back, is confidence high in the dressing room that the team can be successful?
>We’re well-placed in the title race, in the final of the Carling Cup and we’re in the last 16 of the Champions League. It’s true that with players returning from injury we’ll be even stronger – and that will only helps us in our aim to make history in English football and become the first team to win four league titles in a row. We’re all very confident.
How hopeful are you of making Brazil’s World Cup squad?
>At this moment I’m focused only on doing well for United. If I do well and earn a place in the national team for the World Cup that would be fantastic. But if I don’t, I will still support them as a fan. My main aim is United, that’s my priority. I’d be chuffed to play at a World Cup, but I have many years ahead of me in the game so I hope to have more opportunities.
Answered my own question, Anderson said he we was IN THE FINAL FOR THE CARLING CUP so the interview clearly happened after the second leg and during the time he was supposedly on a Plane to Lyon via Gremo.
lets hope he finishes this Season in form like the rest of our Midfield.
Congrats Rio, good news for him I’m sure. I think is a pity Terry didnt do the honourable thing and resign. Now Cappello’s decision has shown him up for the classless individual he is. I think it it was righ to strip him of the captaincy cos he most definitely has lost the dressing room (if he ever had it!). I always support England at major tournaments even though I’m not english, but obviously United> England, (or any other team for that matter). Hope Rio’s appointment spurs him on now to finish the season strongly for us and pick up a few titles and then hopefully the world cup with England.
Rtnk
ignore all the silly articles.no point reading them and getting wound up.the fact is chelsea are looking good because united are not quite as good as the last 2 years although we have had our problems this season.the fact that we are still so close to the top shows how far ahead we were especially last year.
I bet you couldn’t get to the computer quick enough Scott, to report on this announcement!! What a sound judgement on Capello’s part. Bit embarassing that the captain in waiting is currently banned for violent conduct (!) but England can’t have an immature captain who undermines his team mates. I’m sure he’s lost the other players’ respect despite what they say publicly
@Alpha RS
It’s the English media that makes the national team unpopular among other countries. Their “We will conquer you all” mentality before every tournament is pathetic. And they are the ones who have made the WAGS so significant.
I agree with you about Bridge. And his child I may add. And his idotic City mates didn’t do him any favors by wearing “Team Bridge” shirts after their recent game.
All this crap people are coming out with about Rio not being suitable for captain makes me realise why I don’t care at all about England or what happens to them..
Congrats on new England Captain Rio “i fail a drug test” Ferdinand.
Chelsea are a club in crisis. Lampard is 31 years old, Deco is 32, Malouda is 29, Ballack is 33, Drogba is 31, Cole is 29, Terry is 29, Carvalio is 31…
THE CHELSEA PENSIONERS LOL.
Any club in Europe would love to have the Da Silva Brothers coming through, or to have Nani and Anderson gaining eperience, Wayne Rooney and Valencia are both only 24. Fletcher just turned 26.
Without including our older and more experienced Players, the average United Age has got to be around 22, including Kiko, Welbeck, Obertan, De Laet, Gibson, Cleverley… And they’re all stars in the Making, just like our older and more experienced players once were. Anybody backing Chelsea as the better team doesn’t understand football. I agree RTNK, im always thinking the same thing – how the fuck are Chelsea only 2pts clear ? Imagine if they lost Drogba and Anelka (Ronaldo & Tevez) and then Terry and Carvalio were both out for the majority of the season (Rio & Vidic), they’d probably slump to 5th and miss out on an automatic CL spot. they are indeed a Club in slooooow crisis because WHERE is their youth system? where are their Youngsters? They’ll have to go out and buy a new bunch of 26/27 year old players and repeat the process again in 3 years. they’re a short term team just like City and Liverpool. United are built for long term growth & success. Thats the difference. Guess Arsenal are just a little toooo long term, haha.
AAIG – you are propably right but still sometimes it has too be said and ROM is the perfect united site for me to vent my anger and tell other united fans and the clowns who still write garbage on who is a better team. I still find it so ignorent and quiet frankly lack of knoledge for idiots to sit there and spout such garbage, without looking at verious factors. like many know
- uniteds backline has been depleted
- united have lost 2 key forwards especially ronaldo
- chelseas victory over united was not only robbery but united outplayed chelsea the difference is now nani and rooney now seem to be the stars of the team like ronaldo and rooney were.
it also shows united are still far ahead the best team in the prem, if ronaldo was has loyal as evra the title race would be very one sided.
Tony Starks, its true, just look at the comment below yours. I remember thinking Capello’s first decision on the captaincy was bollocks, but I also remember thinking Capello was playing the game too because he never completely shut the door on Rio. With someone like Terry and the scandals that follow it was only a matter of time before he fucked up I guess.
@Blur, nobody is an angel, but Rio missing a test is hardly equivalent to him fucking Wes Browns missus is it ? Besides, there are clear guidlines for punishing a missed test, and Rio “served his time” so wtf is expected of him now ? A lifetime of shame ? a pound of flesh ? he’s already been fucked over for the Captaincy when he was Champion of England and Europe. And he won those medals at Terry and Gerrards expense. If he is still unsuitable then what was the point of his Ban? Add to that the fact that other players who miss tests get away scott-free, I’d say Rio is a perfect Captain for the Country he lives in, at least his violent conduct was on the pitch and not in a night club…
Paul Parker – I disagree there, chelsea are not a club in crisis but chelsea is a very stale outfit lacking fresh ideas to really be a force. and while they are a team seemly to be wearing led boots, they look very slow static. they are very lucky uniteds defensive problems and players lost that united are not top, because if ronaldo rooney and tevez were starting together this season I bet my soul united would be atleast 10 pts infront.
add goerge grrahams hilerious comments that chelsea will win the league still and even have the nerve to say arsenal can finish above united. arsenal and chelsea should be more worried out holding on to a top 3 spot let alone winning the title.
@blur: sure yeah he failed, but it wasn’t his fault to begin with.
versus Terry who:
1. taunting American tourists in a Heathrow hotel in the wake of 9/11
2. parked his bentley in a disabled spot
3. etc etc
@blur
Rio didn’t fail any drugs test. He missed it. There is a difference. Not that it excuses him, but he didn’t exactly pull an Adrian Mutu.
it will be interesting since rio is england captain how the FA treat him, rios price tag has risen.
aha, RTNK, I said “slooooooow crisis”, like a slow car crash.
my point was, their key players like Lampard, Terry, Drogba, Anelka, Ashley Cole, Ballack, Carvalio… they are all either over 30 or 30 this year. so unless they go out and buy brand new established strikers, midfielders and defenders, they’re fucked. And even if they do that, it doesn’t guarantee success. You can’t buy a well oiled machine. Even Mourinho inherited most of “the team he built”. So look at the United team and look how well every position on our team is covered. Every single position has tried and tested alternatives or bright new talent emerging. We have strength in depth, Chelsea do not, and over time that will lead to a crisis. tell me who will replace Lampards goals from the midfield ? He’s 31 !!! He can’t go on forever, thats what the media keep telling us about our players, but we have cover, Chelsea don’t. Drogba is 31, does Sturridge get enough playing time to rplace him ? nope. Ballack is 33, who replaces him ? Deco ? He’s 32 !!!
I agree, I don’t think its a crisis “now” either, but after next season, half of Chelseas best players WILL BE retiring or transfered. They have no contingency plan, to me thats a crisis waiting to happen. Unlike at UTD where Alec has built a formidable pool of young talent thats the envy of Europe.
time will tell aye ?
Paul Parker – yea you are right there when you put it that way it will be and I just dont think chelsea have another gear this season to win the title if things go our way, united seem to starting to play the quality football that we saw a phew years ago when they won the orem and europea double.
- For me the only areas that worry me for united is GK and upfront long term, and shaping the wide positions because valencia and nani are both RW players and for me nani offers more quality and individual brilliance than valencia, one of them has to be able to use their left foot to great advantage. Do we want to sacrifice our best wide player nani for someoe like valencia a good player but he certaintly cant offer those moments of brilliant nani is cooking up at the moment.
hey Rad Legion, your forgotting, Terry had a perfectly justifiable reason to park in that Disabled spot. It wasn’t his fault.
You see, he needed to park there so he could shag that 17 year old fan he just met, in his car, in public view. Captain of England. Classy.
…My bad, he parked in the disabled spot to go PizzaHut, THAT was it.
Still, he is a Chelsea Pensioner don’t forget. haha, what a wanker.
John Terry has done nothing wrong.
All coaching manuals state that if the full back leaves a hole, it’s the centre back’s job to fill it.
RTNK, trust me, give Chelsea till the end of the 10/11 season, they’ll have to buy a completely new team. By the time UTD start the 11/12 campaign half of our youngesters would have come good, really good.
I agree up front options are not quite perfect yet, but thats the beautiful thing about UTD, we always have alternative players coming through in most of our positions so we can always afford to purchase big name proven strikers, like…Berbatov, lol. He’s still got alot more to do for us starting in Europe this season I HOPE. But eitheway, even if he becomes a Forlan type player who has quality but didn’t quite click, we can afford to splash 30+ Million on another striker, and thats assuming neither Kiko, Welbeck nor Diouf step up to the plate during next season. whats the odds ALL 3 fail to do that soon?
As for the GK, I think Kuszczak deserves credit for his performances this term. As for Foster, he’s always been a great shot stopper, he just lacks concentration at times, but GK normally mature later then outfield players. So with both to choose from and VDS still producing the goods we’re in no rush to grab a GK imo. The Futures Bright.
@vivek
LOL!
lol @ Vivek
Paul Parker – I agree come around that time the team will need total rebuilding and lets be real chelsea dont have the setup milan have on how they manage to maintain an aging side and how hey keep up that sort of level. berbatov I am not convinced with so a striker will be needed this summer, many know the candidates on who I think should patner rooney. I just feel now united do have more gears to go into than chelsea who seem like a tank ready to conk out, they remind me of a car with that cartoon sounds you can hear the engine getting more dodgy.
Don’t like it one bit! Just gives everyone another chance to blame and ridicule a united player when England fuck up at the world cup again ! Let’s remember , no support off the fa previous not gonna get any with his appeal so fuck em united>England
Just read this on Twitter: “Is it true that John Terry has topped himself? If not, why not?” Harsh but still PMSL!
what a cheapshot. not trying to defend jt here but does leadership on the pitch in any way coincide with your personal qualities as a human being? highly doubting here. does your boss pink slip you for being unfaithful to your wife?
England would do well to chill out about who’s captain and who’s not and get on with the playing. Considering this is their ‘best squad ever’ and all.

CHELSEA CUM BUCKET…..HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Brilliant my man laughed so much got a pain in me ribs
rioooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
chelsea can kiss my ass
I think this image is bothering people and they don’t want a united player on top of the world lifting the holy grail. Deal with it
this makes it sound even worse…Capello deciding that shagging the mother of a friend and team mate’s child is unacceptable behaviour
FUCKIN LOOOVE IT!!!!
JOHNNY AVI-
Some say footballer’s lives on and off the pitch should not be connected. But Terry’s behavior did affect the harmony in the England squad. Bridge is his former Chelsea team mate and current team mate in the England squad. Terry is the leader his team mates should follow. When your leader betrays and hurts you in an unimaginable way, all trust is lost.
I think Capello made the right decision. I don’t really care who holds the armband for England, but I’m glad for Rio. I just fear he’ll get more stick from the papers if things go wrong in South Africa.
Who was named vice captain after Rio? Stevie Me or Fat Lampard?
Is Bridge going to play alongside Terry in the defense for England or is he going to give it up completely? I actually think Terry should make way rather than Bridge, Bridge didn’t do anything wrong, it’s the crybaby that went muff diving in the wrong shore.
Well done rio, fcuk tiny tears.
Ive heard a rumor that tiny tears is gonna sign for aresnal this summer……but then i though, no fucking way…. wanger would never want any competition…..
His name is Rio and he wears the Captain’s band. Damn, cant remember the rest of the Duran Duran song.
congrats rio, u really deserves the band. go my captain.
Rio is not the right choice.
