Fornasier Scores Last Minute Winner vs Liverpool U21s

Michele Fornasier scored a 94th minute header for the U21s tonight as we beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield. Liverpool were reduced to ten men early in the second half and will have felt as though they did enough to secure themselves a point. After an earlier brilliant save from Ben Amos, United waited until the dying seconds to secure the win, and went mental with their celebrations.

What tainted the evening was the false accusation from the commentators on Liverpool FC TV that Manchester United fans were racially abusing the Liverpool players, wrongly claiming that our fans were chanting “you black bastard”, when it was clear the usual “you scouse bastard” is what was being said. Desperation to try and level the score after one of their players was found guilty of racially abusing one of ours? Or one of their fans was found guilty in court after doing a monkey impression at Evra? Who knows, but distasteful all the same.

    @andromea

I came here to say something similar.

The winning mentality doesn’t stop into the first team, it’s on our DNA.

We are ManUtd and we’ll score when we want!

I would love to read more about our reserve / youth matches.
    Well done lads!

    off topic

how can anyone say that Gareth Bale is over-rated?? I don’t get the withc hunt against wingers with talent.

That lad would fit so nicely into our system. I hope Zaha developes into a player like Bale and with the betetr close control tecjnique that I believe Zaha has, he will become even better.

  5. va7encia says:

Fook me giggs needs to get bale to sign for us he can dominate our left side and make us as strong as were with ronaldo.

It wasn’t a header was it? He looped it in after Lingards shot was saved.

Wow wicked cross and very promising build-up play! It’s really exciting to see the next generation also inheriting the never-say-die DNA that makes United what it is.

U21 v LFC Starting XI: Amos, Veseli, Fornasier, Thorpe, Buttner, Cole, Powell, Lawrence, Januzaj, Lingard, Schlupp

Liverpool had a much more senior team but basically went about fouling our lads left and right. Had 5 yellows by the second half. Stopped counting after their lad was sent off for a second yellow. A real nastiness to it.

  14. Gorse Hill Red says:

Who were the commentators? Was it Aldridge? If so this man has had a history of having swipes at United and the fans; dispicable human being he is.

  15. Bobby Charlton's combover says:

Aldridge is a cunt. A nasty cunt,

  16. FletchTHEMAN says:

Just before the match, MUTV had a nice interview with our reserve keeper Sam Johnston.

    Commenting on playing Liverpool Derbies

    “They are always big games”
“We’ve been playing them since we were 10yrs old! Everyone looks forward to playing Liverpool”

Maybe this is why press never ask Danny Welbeck or Tom Cleverley how they can stay calm playing away to Liverpool!

Won’t fit the Sky or ESPN mojo line if they say they arn’t too plussed.

Come On you Reds! I was really proud how the lads handled the game.
Had to laugh at Shevley who was a class A $*&P the whole match.

Liverpool and Man United will be asked to answer FA questions about fan disorder at the U21 game last night. A number of incidents were blamed on United fans by the Liverpool presenters. Hope there is nothing in it. But St Helens and the home team Liverpool will have to address how fans got on the pitch.

  19. King Eric says:

Bobby – Ha tell it as it is! Quality. Fucking hate the one season “legend” Aldridge.

  20. OAFC says:

Fans got on the because it was a reserve game and normally about 200 people show up so there is no need for stewards and police because most people behave themselves and don’t need to run on the pitch. e.g. I’ve now attended in excess of 500 games and been on the pitch exactly no times.

The lad that ran on last night was a Man United fan who decided to confront a Liverpool player, had it been the other way around you’d have been double quick to criticise. Additionally, United fans were once again chanting about their favourite subjects. You know the ones, the ones you don’t chant at 1st team games in case it’s picked up on tv and you lose the moral high ground you’ve decided is yours by right. Instead, you target reserve and youth games (you’ve got history so don’t deny it) to sing your horrible little songs.

You aren’t any better than anyone else but somehow delusion has set in and you actually think you are.

  21. keanoisdaman says:

Andy would you care to tell us which hillsborough ditties were sung?? I was there I heard the “murderers” song sung, although its a crap song its about heysel not hillsborough….proof please or i will assume you are lying.

  22. keanoisdaman says:

    oafc…..liar

  23. keanoisdaman says:

Im not having scousers takin the moral high ground…….them of all people??? Them who rob tickets off their own younger fans!!

  24. keanoisdaman says:

suprise suprise, merseyside police have recieved no complaints of any racist chants.

  25. andy says:

I am lying, you’re right. Easy isn’t it to say something happened when it didn’t and then it’s just out there and everyone buys it.

Scott’s lying too. No one accused uniteds fans of singing you black bastard, that was scott and his sad paranoia accusing people of saying something to suit his own warped agenda and you all want to believe him.

In fact the police specifically said no complaints were made to them so were is Scotts proof? or his word good enough for you? You were there after all.

  26. OAFC says:

    Which bit’s a lie?

A united fan ran on the pitch, united fans lit flares, united fans sang songs about murderers to about 200 or so bemused onlookers from St Helens half of which probably weren’t Liverpool fans and none of whom were at Heysel so I assume wouldn’t have murdered anyone.

So, which bit was a lie?

  27. Red4ever says:

@ OAFC people dont lie when they are fillthy little scousers and that too on our site ur stupid dont say anything until you got any proof ok so get your candy coated ass get off coz WE ARE MAN UNITED WE DO WHAT WE WANT !!!!

  28. TheCANTONA says:

I dont understand why do people keep on singing tragedy events into football. Munich, Heysel, Hillsborough are vile chants no matter u spin it. I hope people realized by singing these ville songs they also tarnished their club image.
    OAFC:
i assume u’re Oldham fan, may i ask have u ever sing munich ville song like citeh fans does??

  29. OAFC says:

    @ the cantona.

Nope, never sing that and it isn’t sung at Oldham why would it be?

The only point I’m making is that on this occasion Man U fans were the ones responsible for all the trouble but you all want to deny it and blame everyone else.

The blog should have been about the game, instead the author makes up a lie about another team to score cheap points. Red4ever sums you up really when it’s someone elses fault you all take the moral high ground, when it’s you, you just blame others anyway and roll out the we’ll do what we want line.

  30. tj says:

Liverpool fc, just a nasty little club with no class but alot of racists, murderers.

  31. Scott says:

Andy – Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good ol’ rant eh: https://twitter.com/search?q=liverpool%20black%20bastard&src=typd
