well thats just great, the wind changes direction and he’s injured, starting to get pissed off with him and these constant injuries. And after yesterday i’m not convinced that he should be sharing our no.1 jersey with VDS. Don’t think fergie will keep him around for much longer if he keeps getting injured.
i dont care if its 10%media bull shit
i want the buffon rumor back

Aww, he wasn’t THAT bad. Looked like nerves to me and I’m surprised he stayed in after the knock with Drogba. TBF, I’d be really nervous knowing that the game I was playing in, against chelsea (possibly the most potent attacking side in terms of talent), was a try out for both my international career as well as my spot in a starting 11 for Manchester United. A couple of games in and he’d been OK, maybe not great, but good enough. I had high hopes for him, but at 26 he definitely should be coming along more. Hopefully this means that kid from Russia comes.
Having seen Kuszczak’s 45 minutes against Valencia, I can’t help but think that whilst he’s not a replacement or successor to Edwin, he sure as heck shouldn’t be kept for the reserves or for pre-season friendlies.
Unless he’s bottled it
Get Akinfeev in and be done with it…
This is just great. I also had high hopes for Foster, he needs more games under his belt. He wasn’t good against Chelsea, looked very nervous. But I would still have picked him over Kuszczak. I just think Kuszczak isn’t as talented, he usually stays on the line when he should go out and get the ball.
I also fear that Foster might be too injury prone to hold the keeper position at Man Utd in the future.
Good keepers are hard to find, it’s a difficult position to fill. GHTT wants Buffon, he obviously is world class but does he speak English? The last Italian keeper who didn’t speak English had a short stay, LOL (Taibi).
How long will Foster be out?
I think its high time Fergie bought a keeper….come on Fergie…Sign Diego Lopez….
I also feel that the ONLY thing he needs right now is experience = a lot of playing time
give him a few games and he’ll come good
When he’s suppose to get games he gets injured. Really bad timing for him…
Buffon does a lot of interviews in English. He is the best keeper in the world and I think something could happen their, all depends if Fergie wants him or has ever wanted him.
any news on nani?
Yeah, lets replace a 30+ keeper with another 30+ keeper, brilliant idea…
Why do I have this feeling of de ja vu? It’s the ‘replacing Schmeichel’ problem all over again isn’t it. I know how long it took us last time!
Get Akinfeev in and be done with it…
=================
Somebody’s being playing too much football manager
some good news at least.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1205604/Manchester-United-boost–Nani-gives-injury-cold-shoulder-insist-Ill-fit-Birmingham.html
ive just put him in my fantasy footy team as well bloody hell!!!
I watch him play on a fairy regular basis, actually, I watch whatever Russian league matches are on TV and every national team game… He’s ace.
Besides, if there wasn’t something special about him then he wouldn’t have been the best young keeper in the game for like 5 years straight in the first place…
I know we will buy a keeper just feel the right one isnt available . Or Fergie would of had him in by now . Its just nerve jangling time with Foster or TK between the posts !!!!!
bring back Andy Goram
If Foster needs a lot of playing time to get experience then I think its even better to give Amos or Ron Robert Zieler that sort of time to gain experiences….they are younger than Foster and will learn more quickly…
paddy roche still playing?
if we bring any keeper in we need to get rid of one or two we have three keepers on the books all could play for a first team in premier league we just need to give these guys a break especially foster hes 26 man n played like 5 apperances for united if he was a season long pro and he made mistakes then we could slaughter him but guess what hes still learnin and hes not even at his peak yet say foster plays till he’s 37 guess what we’ll get 11 years out of him so give him a chance to prove himself whilst edwin is out and see if he can step up to the plate fergie says he’s gonna be englands No1 so hes obviously special if SAF rates him so lets get behind our players instead of slating them come on people
we’re united one of the best squads in the world if its not foster its nani, oshea or flethcher come on thats be backing out players and show confidence in there abilities the heirarchy at old trafford obviously think there good enough
bring on sunday!!
We already got one ex-dipper….why not sign another….. anyone know what Grobbelar is up to these days ??
come on do we really believe the Foster injured rumours? Isn’t this just another Fergie ‘pulling a player out of the international squad to piss off the FA’ situation?
Anyway not such a bad thing surely it’s better for Utd that Foster is training at Carrington rather than playing a game for England?
What’s wrong with Buffon?, I don’t know a better keeper in world football.. If I had the choice I would spend my whole transfer budget on him, I don’t care how old he is – look how old VDS is..
Sorry I just had to get that off my chest after seeing the opening few comments!
It doesn’t say what the injury is but I suspect its just a slight niggle with his back after being clobbered by Drogba (I still don’t understand how that first Goal was allowed when Drogba took Foster completely out). He did spend the rest of the game stretching his back.
I doubt its serious though, just not worth risking him for a Friendly before the start of the season. England need him after all to use the opportunity to establish himself at United so it makes sense for them to play the long game.
As for his performance, he did seem a little nervous and I’m not sure the our players (and the pitch) helped him. A couple of those back passes bobbled up off the awful pitch and forced a second touch and a number of our backpasses to him were played to his Right foot. We saw Edwin get into trouble a few times last season when the ball was played to his weaker foot as if they feel they have time they will naturally try and switch foot. At Reserve level he wouldn’t have been closed as quickly so the touch onto the stronger foot would have been fine, he just need to adjust to first team level where you have less time to do this.
Players need games at the top level and Edwin has prevented him getting these and as long as its not serious then he will only get better by the game
Surprise, Surprise, another Man Utd player pulls out of an international friendly. What’s the betting he’s fit and raring to go in utd’s next match?
NC – Its a good bet he will be fit – but so what?
Everton won’t finish top 5 this year, let’s grab Tim Howard next summer.
Should never have let Howard go in the first place, ok he messed up about twice but the guys proved immense for the toffee’s and USA.
Buffon’s not that old. Only 31. We ain’t going to get him so it is not even worth thinking about.
He needs match experience you say? Send the fucker out on loan…..
Replace a 37yr old for a 31yr old? hmm yeah because we could get at least 5 years outta him or would you prefer a Bosnich, Bartez, etc long list of “quality” that tanked. The worlds best keeper to replace a close to retirement keeper……..yes please. Why does anyone need to debate this?
what? injured? again?
I’m shocked!!!
where’s tim howard?
What about the Turkish goalie, Volkan? He looked solid when I saw him against France in WC qualifier. Plus, he’s only 27 and he saved Ronaldo freekick before. That ought to amount to something innit? >_>
Sounds like the nerves got to him
I was really impressed with him while he was at Watford, except their last match in the premiership, hope he can start showing that form with a few more games.
Would love to see the core of Englands team being from United.
Foster
Rio
Hargreaves
Rooney and Owen (fingers crossed).
Is it just me or did anyone else think that Drogs challenge on Foster(who flapped badly at it!) would have been given as a foul on the keeper if it had been a United player challenging Cech?
At the time I thought it was a foul and would have been given in other games.
this guy is worse than wes brown for injuries – who gives a crap how good he is if he’s never fit?
Thats a relief! KUSZC all the way
Is he related to Louis Saha?
Tell you lads, Foster doesn’t cut it. It’s as simple as that. He is known for blunders like in some cases with Watford and for the national team. At Watford he would be forgiven to slip in a ball or two, that team was doomed for relegation from day one, anyway.
You could see from first minute in the Big Mac game that he was not up for it. His performance in the game was mediocre apart for some high balls in the box that he caught with authority, but that was it. When it came to penalties, it was all too clear that he isn’t our man. His attempt to save Drogbas’ shot was embarrassing, the lad jumped like an old man 3 sec. to late with the ball in the net behind him and Drogba on his way back. We should sell Foster know, keep Kuszak and buy proper number one that will replace Edwin in time.
@RedHarry4Life
It clearly was a foul.
1) The Impact occurs just as Foster is about to make contact with the ball. Its hard to be sure but it does look like perhaps it effecting his impact and perhaps caused him to push the ball forward too much rather than pushing it to the side
2)Even if 1 simply was a mistake by Foster the impact prevents him making amends. The Impact knocks him backwards and spins him around preventing him bouncing backup to deal with the rebound. He may not have saved it as its placed very well but it is what they practice day in day out as a keeper and would have made it harder to score
Certainly if it was against Cech, Terry and co would have been screaming for the United player to be sent off. Probably would have got their wishes too as Chelsea do seem to get the decisions. I suspect against any other team we would have got the decision too but it does so often seem that Refs are scared of upsetting Golden Boy Terry (Just look at the lack of even a booking for his Tackle on Nani, sure he touched the ball but as Chelsea fans were baying for Toure to be sent off for his ‘challenge from behind’ on Drogba in the CL Semi, even though it was more from the side and was a great tackle surely Terrys was a Sending off by the letter of the law when that tackle was directly from behind even though he touched the ball as its considered dangerous play) and Ballack not even getting booked and Evra getting booked for winning a fair tackle (And the ridiculous booking that Berba got 3 mins in) seem to support this
sign Nigeria keeper called vincent enyeama
I’ve said it a hundred times before; I’m not convinced by Foster, I’d love to give him a run in goal & see how he develops but can we really afford the risk? If he plays two months in place of VDS and screws up we could be out of the title race before things get going. It might seem cruel but what can we do? it’s a vitally important position and any mistakes can be crucial.
Foster is 25 years old, has had loan spells, all the attention of the backroom staff, praise heaped on him from all angles, a number of appearances with the first team, yet he still looks like he’s shitting himself every time he sets foot on the field. Keepers need aggression, they need to strike fear into opposition when they’re bearing down on goal, not wilt to the pressure.
I don’t want to be a dick to young(ish) players coming through but you’ve got to be 100% when putting someone between the sticks – you only need look at our disasters in replacing the great Dane. Hope the guy proves me wrong but I’m not going to hold my breath.

Valdes please come.
Nerves…
Foster is a quality keeper and will be Utds number one for years to come.
I have no worries with him. You cant blame him for any goal on Sunday, although he did have a couple of shaky moments, but who didnt.
Kuszac is simply not good enough, rather give the games to Amos (Who is currently injured).
Howard didnt have the concentration level to be Utds keeper, although a good goalie.
Fosters injury will be nothing, Utd will be ensuring he is fully fit to play for Utd.
YCSYFEUYA!
Probably a bullshit injury which he will miraculously recover from, but I’m still unconvinced that Foster has the bottle to succeed at United. He looks good against the wank teams like spuds, but against the likes of Chelsea, Barca, etc he will get found out. Too nervous and twitchy for me and i doubt we can afford to give him 10-12 games to get settled in. Not this season where we will face quite a few teams looking to take points off us.
Foster’s ability in goal might mean the difference in tough 1-0 games that we win and 1-1 draws where we drop points. I honestly fear for our season if he plays 50% of our games.
