Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Ben Foster will remain our first choice keeper in the absence of Edwin Van der Sar, despite Tomasz Kuszczak being chosen for our cup games against Wolves and Wolfsburg.
“Tomasz Kuszczak produced a very good performance against Wolves last week and we felt he deserved to play another game,” Ferguson said. “It wasn’t going to be last Saturday though because we had to give Ben some support after that difficult game against Manchester City. It was a good opportunity for us to play Tomasz against Wolfsburg but Ben will play on Saturday.”

Man Utd News 24/7

still doubtful about him.didnt have anything to do against stoke.but i guess we need to give him time.if fergie has faith in him, so do I.Van Der Sar makes me feel more assured though. foster can learn a lot from the Dutch Giant
fergie: sign benaglio from wolfsburg, he’ll become one of the world greatest goalies!! for sure!
Wolfsburg keeper? Didn’t he punch the ball out a couple of times last night where it should’ve been an easy save or a you talking about their other keeper?
is fergie signing sporting lisbons keeper(sry forgot his name).heard we will sign him this jan.
Kuszcak and Foster are enough for us.
@hurr: no, you’re right im talking about the goalie from yesterday. I’ve just seen him punching it away once.. when we had a corner i think?!
Well, nobody is perfect and he’s still young and can improve alot. but, as you can see in my name, I’m swiss, and the lad is our swiss national goalie and he played awesome games in the worldcup qualifying games… wolfburg thanks lot to him. he played a big role for them becoming german champion last season..
Benaglio was not at his best yesterday. some poor decision making in regards to punching.
@ash : it was just a rumour. his name is Rui Patricio
I don’t know about you guys but we have got to stop depending on Edwin. Ben Foster has really impressed me and I truly believe he should be our first choice keeper even after Edwin VDS recovers !!
I was genuinely impressed with the PIG last night. Apart from a couple of times where the communication with the back four was lacking, he seemed much more confident than Foster has done lately. His kicking is better too.
@ wazza: thats becos he was nervous to play vs the champions of england and the world!
maybe his heart desires to play for us.. so he became little stressed with the situation
but kuszcak was good though and I also think foster just need more games to become a little more calm..
wazza thnx mate.
anyways i would give foster chance to shine.15 games is not enough for any player.i would be happy if he is englands no1 golie in the worldcup.
Why would you want Foster over a goalie at the top who doesn’t have long left? Sounds ridiculous. We don’t need any other keepers either, signing one is just going to be silly with Amos coming up.
Off topic but you MUST look at this:
http://i40.tinypic.com/imjgd0.jpg
Judging only from the last few games Kuszczak has looked the better keeper, but in the long run I still think Foster is a better bet. Even so I still have severe doubts about whether Foster will really be our long term solution. He hasn’t looked at all confident, and remember that he’s not inexperienced as he’s played lots of Premier League games while on loan at Watford.
SwissDevil – That Wolfsburg keeper was awful mate. twice he could have caught it but punched it. What makes you want him over Ben? Ludicrous.
Hello by the way people.
Ben needs to be a bit more relaxed and avoid the preassure coz it is actually destroying his carrea. At watford he did great and thats why SAF has put his faith in him. Also i think we need to keep an eye to ben amos i really rate him and think he deserves a chance to play for the first team.Anybody care updating on TOM HEATON ??
SqeakyRed – PIG ‘s kicking is NOT better than Fosters. No way. He struggles to clear the halfway line and is too slow at distributing it. Foster has a fucking immense kick which gets attacks going much like the great dane used to. Thought he had a good game though last night.
@ King Eric: Well as i said, he can still progress and yes there were some moments he wasn’t so sure about what he should do…but.. its just a personal feeling that tells me someday he’ll be our goalie..This doesnt mean that I’m unhappy with our current keepers!!
For me its still too early to tell how Foster is going to turn out. Seeing both play i have a better feeling about foster to be honest.
Both are young in goal keeper terms and still learning the game. Both need to settle and havent been able to do so.
Everytime they play they are particularly in the Spot light, Not many notice a strey pass from Fabio or when Fabio is caught out of position etc.. This is because with Keepers they Make a mistake it drasticaly increases the chances of conceeding a goal!…
What i am concerned about is if we write Foster off he has the potential to become one of the worlds best keepers!
For me the main one in the Premiership that got away was Brad Fridel from Liverpool. Couple of Mistakes and off you go son!… He was immence for Blackburn season after season and single handedly took points off us on our Championship Crusade!
There aren’t too many keepers available that you could definately say are better than what we have, so we just have to stick with these guys…
OFF THE TOPIC:
Does anybody know from where i could download Man United’s matches of yesteryear, matches from 2000-2005. Torrents preferred.

The Ex United Legend Mark Hughes is going to use Gary Nevilles celebration as an example as to why Adabayors goal celebration should not lead to a further ban.

What an absolute shithouse.
@ alpha: this is so ridicolous!
I think van der sar will have to fight for his place in the team with Foster
Foster fucked up once in a while
Doesnt every keeper
but when he’s on point he is world class
off topic
as seen on manutd .com

@Scott: the Foster article you linked was your best ever. Really sane and putting your points across very well.
I’ve got a question for you. I know we are all biased on Foster coz we’re English and we want see an Englishman take our number 1 jersey and be our keeper for the World Cup but what does Kusczsak have to do to get a run in the team? For me, he hasn’t done much wrong. Edwin should definately return straight back into the side when he’s fit, anyone talking likewise is talking rubbish.
Morning all. Off topic, but I made the mailbox on F365… of course in support of the Berbagod.
http://www.football365.com/mailbox/story/0,17033,8744_5598580,00.html
Both keepers are of the same class and ought to be rotated.
Adebayor given 25k fine for goal celebration against arsenal and a 2 game suspended ban
“Foster Still First Choice After Edwin”. Err, statedly simply, doesn’t that make him our second choice?
European goal keeper of the year
Sent to the bench
WTF
anybody watching the reserves
Are the reserves playing?? am one of biggest fan of em so bad in kenya nowhere i can watch the game:@ can anyone tell me the progress of amos, king, pettruci, kiko, possebon and my favourite MAGNUS EIKREM ??
eikrems got 2 sam, 2 quality goals aswell
kings got one aswell….
i dont think ive ever seen 3 goals as good as the ones we’ve scored ever in one half either, all world class goals…win this and we go top of the leauge
@jack all three goals in todays match?? Lol… solskjaer surely is teaching the lads how to bag em!! Anyway thanks jack for that update.
Completely off topic, but I found this on another site posted by “Notorious Red Devil” As a true fan-commuter-supporter, I think we should bombard the bitters with this every time they make their predictable moan…
You can’t possibly work somewhere else and be a true fan. Didn’t you know that? You can only be a true Red if you live in Manchester, if you were there and joined the Army and posted abroad = not a true red. You get a law degree and have to move to London because there’s a astronomical chacne you could further your career = not a true red. Or if you move somewhere else just so you get more money to pay mortgage, bills, raise family etc = not a true red. But to be a cit-eh fans means living on moss side getting benefits off of the state and then go thieving to fill the other expenses makes you a true blue. What a pile of TRIPE! It’s where your heart’s at not where you live. If you get to games regarding of how far you are, singing when you get there and knowing your stuff about your club past and present and opinions on the future of your club — that’s what makes you a true fan.

Also completely off topic again — but you’ll like this one. Hitler gets cross again. This time he hears about Michael Owen’s Derby Winner
)
How does Anyone But United get away with all this shite!
scott if you can after the reserve match has finished could you put a video up of the goals scored in it
Suspect VDS will be 1st choice the instant he’s fit, but feel our long term interests would be much better served by keeping Foster there for the rest of the season. Not because I’m fully convinced by him – the slowness of reaction shown at Celtic last season worries me as much/more than the cock-ups against City – but because his playing week-in week-out is the only chance he’ll stand of being Capello’s main man for South Africa. Which would be the perfect outcome: highest level experience is the only way the Foster argument can be settled.
But as already stated, can’t see it happening. The beauty of the last 3 titles has come at a short termist price that saw quality of the likes of Pique and Rossi slip through our hands because they didn’t get a chance. Tosic and Ljajic ?
Daledo – Yeh and Edwin is injured, so Foster is currently first choice, opposed to Kus being first choice in Edwin’s absence.
Off the topic, Adebayor got 2 match suspended ban for his celebrations against Arsenal. What hypocrites the old farts at FA are. Had he by any chance been a United player he would have not escaped without a proper ban. This sentence is disgusting when you consider Evra ban for fracas after the Chelsea match when he was racially abused.
Yet another proof that FA has one rule for United and another one for everybody else.
4 nill..king again
@bruce thomas
i watch the hitler vdeo last week…
hillarious…
uniteds 1st team and reserves both top of the leauge
Sanj – Hey up fella. Great to see your post on F365 in support of Berba. The man was majestic last night. However did you see some of the other posts from dippers? Saying that Vidic is shit this season as he wants to go to Barca. Also a United fan saying we don’t have a “proper defensive midfielder”? Fucking clueless cunts. Wonder what manutdslagger and Michael made of Berb’s last night?
Jack – You bastard! I have sky + the reserves and was just about to watch them but I know the score now. Only joking pal.
Alpha rs – ” How does Anyone but United get away with this shite”?
What shite, who are you talking about?
King Eric – Hi, mate. The drivel that people send into the mailbox, is usually pure rubbish. The Vidic posts are absolutely ridiculous, what centre back is able to keep pace with an attacking player sprinting past him? It’s pure bollocks- then they question his attitude? Vidic has always shown 100% commitment to the club, even in the face of all these senseless rumours. I, too, am curious what the slagger/Micheal thought of Berba last night… haha!
Eikrem second goal was absolutly unbelievable, he looks a totaly different player this season! Joshua king just keeps getting better and better!
I can see Eikrem playing some first team football this season. Unlucky that he didn’t get a run out in the Carling Cup last week. Looks a real prospect. The Reserves play some great football under Ole.
Any new news on the rumor of Schalke stopper Manuel Neuer
http://www.goal.com/en/news/15/germany/2009/08/12/1436770/schalke-goalkeeper-manuel-neuer-on-manchester-united-radar
@King Eric : oh my goodness. has anybody seen the 2 goals by Magnus Eikrem last night ? even Paddy Crerand saying that Scholes would have been proud of that 2nd goal by Eikrem. also 2 top draw finishes by Joshua king. get this boy in the midfield and Joshua King upfront Fergie.
@wazza (Bezi)
good morning.what happened in our reserves match and who were we playing??
@AIG : hi mate. good afternoon. it was against Sunderland at Moss lane the home of United reserves. i saw from 60th minute onwards last night on the net. some top talent in the reserves. Eikrem looks to be getting closer to 1st team football. just watch his brilliant lob goal. we have got a fine replacement for Scholesy i guess
Good morning mates! Anybody knows where I can watch the reserves games? Maybe online? or are they shown on MUTV?
@wazza (Bezi)
Thats great news.always great to hear that the reserves are doing a great job.hope they soon make it to the first team.replacement for scholesy.we badly need that.hope you are right
I rate Kuszczak much more than Foster. I’m an Arsenal fan and Polish, but I’m not bias. Fabianski is awful. Kuszczak was very fucking impressive in Poland and for West Brom. For the sake of his career, I hope he leaves United. Its obvious Foster is being wrongfully supported ahead of him just cause he’s english. The fact is, England might produce better outfield players than Poland(for sure), but the gulf in quality when it comes to goalkeeping is huge. We’ve always had world class kjeepers and still do. Boruc had one bad season(last season), but he’s back to his best already.
The young Pole at Arsenal, Szczesny is fucking brilliant. His dad was a top, top keeper.
Fabianski is shit though.
And as a side note to this missing CR thing: Obviously United weren’t going to fall apart, but the attacking spark is lacking and if you want to win it a record 4 times in a row, it’ll be your defense that wins it. But I hope you lads come 2nd, after us. City will be found out soon enough.
Pat – Fair play to you , you make some good points however I am baffled as to why an Arsenal fan would spend a fair amount of his time on a United blog? As for our attacking threat I have to disagree. United are scoring for fun this season and something like our last eleven goals have been scored by TEN different players. You say he was our “spark” but United really did struggle to hit the onion bag last season. The team spirit now at our club since the departure of Ronnie and the Judas is fantastic. You really think Arsenal will win the league? No chance pal, you ain’t even close to United. Just wait till we get out of second gear after Xmas.
Noticed on the previous post you said Giggsy wouldn’t get in the Arsenal team. Don’t make me laugh, he has more class in his little finger than Bentner and Van Persie possess in their whole bodies.
Bravo to SAF for giving him another chance, and BRAVO to Foster for f**** it up again!! Jesus this guys is worse than Howard, Carrol and other average gks who were at OT….
For f***** sake, open your eyes people….
