GIF: Van Persie’s Disallowed Goal

Had this goal stood, United would have the same goal difference as Manchester City, as well as being three points clear.

  2. OGUNGBE BARNABAS says:

United 4 life.we need 2 improve at denfence.

  3. Diego says:

Impossible for the referees to be 100 % sure. Send it to Platini the ancient twat, he has the keys to solve this embarrassment. RVP should have put the game to bed but had a Torres moment of his own…

  4. Ice Cube says:

it happens. We won, we need to move on and make sure it doesn’t matter.

  5. Collinsmary says:

Utd 4life! It’s disheartening 2 see d 2nd goal 4rm RVP disallowed by d ref. It’s time 4 uefa 2 adopt goal line technology 2 put all these mess 2 a final stop. All d same, we got our three points but SAF should work on our defence b4 d manchester derby. And most important of it al, all utd faithfuls need 2 be seeing our No1 keeper in d post.

  6. Unitedfanatic says:

Cricket, Tennis, all the sports out there use technology to be fair and avoid undue pressure on the referees. When it comes to football, the people who matter hardly give a rat’s shit about adopting technology. No wonder football referees are among the most loathed when compared to any other sport.

  7. Henkka says:

Cost me lots of fantasy league points that! :(

  8. Mosey says:

    united we stand

  9. evisu says:

We had plenty of decisions going with us this season, so i dont see why anyone would be so upset about this.

  10. Jin says:

impossible for any officials to see that. well this is football. still happy with 3 points. even if manu drawed or lost as a result, is a tough call, and i wont be so upset with it. still, credit to the defender trying his best to prevent the goal

  11. Strik3rr says:

Just shows how badly they need this technology, pity it still has to wait till next season.

  12. markynorbs says:

Don’t need technology for that one.
If the defender is in the net, then the ball must be in the net.
    Poor decision from the linesman.

  13. Redninja says:

    Decisions even theirselves

  14. brett1985 says:

Let’s go on about this goal for 10 years like Spurs fans. Obviously this is the epitome of injustice.

  15. Dela says:

@diego – it was nowhere near a Torres moment, watch the replay, rvp had to move quick to snatch the ball from the keeper so his touch away from the keeper was heavy, ten by the time he reached the ball the angle was tight and the keeper had it covered. Rvp wasn’t facing goal, Torres was. Maybe if rvp hadn’t tried to smash it in and took his time he would have beaten him. It wasn’t as bad as it looked live anyway.

  16. brett1985 says:

Yes, we could say he should have placed it in the empty part of the net but it did go in so you can’t call it a miss

  17. MyCowIsTheBest says:

There was a United fan on ESPN who commented that video technology for offside calls are more important then goal-line technology.
