Giggs: I Didn’t Think I’d Ever See Owen In United Shirt

Ryan Giggs has given his thoughts on Manchester United’s most talked about summer signing, Michael Owen.

“I don’t think I ever thought we’d see Michael in a United shirt but he’s shown over the two games here what he is all about,” Giggs said. “He is a goalscorer. It’s as simple as that. You always admire a player who bursts on the scene at 17 or 18 and carries on scoring throughout his career for the clubs he has played for and for his country. Goalscorers like Michael just seem to have an instinct they are born with.”

Tell me a joke and win tickets to watch United train at Old Trafford

I’d pay him £30k per week alone knowing the rat munchers are choking that Owen – a product of the great Liverpool youth system – is playing in a United shirt!

owen is united new free striker who gets paid less than our reserve cb and played 2 games slightly over a full game if you add up the mins and he scored 2 goals

    heck yes! my opinion exactly.
Cascarino can keep his opinions to himself…
Just waiting another one of his peaches at Anfield.

  10. Anon says:

Slightly off topic but i had the vaguest dream today that Ronaldo returned to United before the close of the transfer window after punching Perez in the face…

lets see.i believe owen will let his feet do the talking

anyways wat separates us from our rivals is the ability to win games against lesser teams rather than dropping those shit points.Lpool won 4 of 6 big games last season.did they win the league

    NNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

  12. cantona7 says:

lol cascarino… what the hell is this guy’s prob wit owen?

just wait till owen proves you wrong…

Lads; what’s wrong with “I’m the hero” Cascarino’s comments: “In the tight affairs he will be more of a passenger, having little input into the team play which may well cost them.” – ? Yes. I totally agree. No way Sir Alex’ gonna play him in the big games when – hopefully – Rooney and Berbatov are fully fit. As for the (lack of) team play from Owen, well, does anybody remember how Liverpool used to play? Just kick the ball towards him? I’m not saying that’s the new United tactics (it won’t be, come on), but I’d argue that the Dippers got a better TEAM when the sold off Saint Michael, and I agree with Cascarino.

  14. george still the best says:

i think anybody with the goalscoring ability of mick owen will do well at united considering the amount of chances we create (miss)
cant blame him for trying to sort his future out when he was a youngun
he was in fact an everton fan from chester
so if he does the business this year hes forgiven and 29 hes in his prime
the major buzz in all this is he will be knocking them in for fun next season and ruining the FSWaiters dreams when he could have signed him on a free himself AND THATS A FACT
lets hope it plays out that way or fergie will have to claw back a few months of glazers interest payments from the sale of ronnie!!!
