Personally i have never liked the idea of best footballer prizes, especially in the last 10 years or so.
Is it actually judged on a players performances in the previous season or on his popularity and how big his profile in football is? Case in point would be Beckham placing higher than Keane and Scholes after the teams treble winning year.

It seems like everyone across europe rates barca and madrid better than anyother team when the premier league is obviously the best league in the world and we’ve been the champions for the past 3 years.
