Manchester United blew their strict wage structure to keep Wayne Rooney at the club after he revealed he had no intention of staying.
There has been talk of rewarding bad behaviour which could have a negative impact on other players’ contract discussions.
However, David Gill has today revealed that players who have recently signed contract extensions (Ryan Giggs, Darren Fletcher and Michael Carrick) didn’t mention Rooney’s deal in a bid to improve their own contract.
“I don’t think it’s particularly outrageous,” said Gill. “We’ve done deals with certain players recently and the impact of what we paid Wayne never came up. I don’t think we should hone in on Wayne Rooney is this particular situation.”

we have the highest amount of revenue and earn the most profit in the prem, and i think also in europe ( not 100% sure bout real ?). this can be seen with things such as us being called the largest sports franchise in the world and what not.
now, people may not think that this matters, but guess whats happening this summer ? Uefa/FIfa financial fair rules come in, so you can really only spend what you earn. hence the two big buys by chelski now rather than them waiting for the summer (alothough that mightve been cos they are * shiite * and may have dropped out the top four!).
now, if clubs dont follow these rules, they’re outta europe, meaning no more champo league for them. this, obviously, will deter the big players signing for them. this basically spells the end for abrahamovic, man shitty, + barca/reals domination in the market! (barca have flexed their muscle – ibrahamovic for 40mill + eto ?).
therefore, with the Glazers increasin our revenues, meaning that all of our sources of income have risen except merchandise, which has indeed fallen due to the campaign against them. add to this the apparent 130 mill our club has earned, which has NOT gone into paying the debt (although i do admit it may be a bit optimistic to expect the Glazers to spend that on transfers), we could be REAL MARKET LEADERS come this summer. how many teams earn profits like us ? exactly.

Delaware does have that “anonymous’ director provision. It also has an advantageous tax law: companies can be based there, but are not charged income tax on operations outside of the state. This is unusual. It means that the glazers pay no state corporate tax on United’s operations.
