David Gill has let rip on Le Havre who have claimed we tapped up Paul Pogba.
“It is an insult by Le Havre to suggest that Manchester United and the employees of Manchester United have paid the players’ parents and bought the parents a house,” said Gill. “We will not accept the good name of Manchester United being trawled around on websites and the press to say that we have done these things which we are not allowed to do and we would never do. We’ve done everything, we think, by the book. We are not intimidating Le Havre. We have no intention of intimidating Le Havre.”
Whilst I’d like to think we haven’t been stupid enough to secure this deal in a dodgy way, it’s hard to imagine we’re saints in the transfer market!

“We’ve done everything, we think, by the book”
the we think part has me worried about fifa getting involved
when Gill has come out and said that everything was done in accordance to the rules, then i believe him. did anyone from Che come out and say the same bout kakuta ?
i understand what your saying scott about not been saints
but i think united cover there tracks
like trowing fraizer campbell into the deal after a day of dealing with spurs after kidnapping a player spurs did not give united permission to talk to,
that bending the rules then straightening out of the rules after getting what they want is what gill can do and kenyon couldnt or wouldnt
First of all, thank you Scott for a new post.
Still, I am glad Pogba’s deal was dealt with legally, and even more glad that he came out and said everything is/was done by the book. all i can say is, long live David Gill.
Scott…..If you read the full statement, then David Gill said that whatever Le Havre want to do in the FIFA courts, United will fight. But he was principally angry at the fact that Le Havre went public on supposedly unfounded claims and spoilt United’s name.
Both the official statement as well as the one stated by David Gill are professional yet they bear the sound of the power of MANCHESTER UNITED.
Whilst we all hope the transfer was done legally, that is what Gill is saying, lets just hope that FIFA see it the same way
Seems like a witch-hunt is starting in the press. Liverpool, Man shitty… It wont be long now until the laws are changed, and i bet we have a cleaner record of dealings than those other bunch of wankers.
When is the focus going to start on foreign clubs – especially Real Morbid. There was certainly dodgy rumblings last summer when they tapped up ronny for a transfer this season. But i bet that big cunt Platini just focuses on the english.
Yeah it seems everyones jumping on the band wagon now even Leeds are moaning about Everton signing some players from their acadamy. At the end of the day players especially 16 year olds or younger should have the freedom to sign for whoever they want they should not at that age be held in a contract by any club anywhere in the world. There children for godsake let them and there parents choose what they think is best for them not Fifa or any club for that matter. If these kids want to play for United/Chelsea/ any other team at 16 or 17 they should be alowed to do so.
off topic
has anyone seen the comments attributed to casaraighi the italy u21 manager? he said macheda was too unprofessional for his team and needs to change his lifestyle off the pitch….very worrying
Talk is cheap, lets wait till all fact are made available to the public, Gill isnt exactly going anything to the contrary to not being guilty.
cuz this ain’t getting boring is it!?!? Pogba fucking everywhere you look.
Kiko’s supposed bad attitude is understandable for someone who ain’t even 18 yet. He’s obviously a confident lad, bags of ability and potential, and he’s getting serious cash already. He probably thinks that life can’t get better.
Sir Alex will say it can get better, the first team and playing for his senior national team. Fergie will tell him that he will only get first team regularly if his attitude improves and he keeps trying to improve.
Nowt to worry about.
Its either we did the deal by the book or we didnt do it by the book, hence I dont understand the “we think” part of Gill’s statement. Whats that supposed to mean.
HAVE HEARD SO MUCH ABOUT THE POGBA CASE.I JUST WISH SOMEONE HAS A VIDEO OF THE LAD THAT HAS CAUSED SO MUCH FUSS.
WHO HAS A VIDEO.
I DON’T BLAME CLUBS FOR REALLY GOIN ALL OUT TO GET TALENTS ABROAD.THE BRITISH BOYS ARE NOT AS GIFTED AS THE GUYS ABROAD AND STILL COST MORE.
ON THE OTHER HAND,WHEN ALLOWED TO GROW TO THEIR FULL POTENTIAL,THE CLUBS ASK FOR OUTRAGEOUS SUMS SO EITHER WAY NO ONE IS EXEMPTED.
i think utd take advantage of the different work laws in other countries but if its legal and the kid wants to sign i don’t see what the big deal is.Just scanning news now saw an article suggesting becks might be on his way back.i don’t think thats far fetched he needs to find a european club after the mls season is over and utd could use him short term for the final part of the season
Wayne
thats 100% what Le Havre’s problem is
but manchester united been an English side are signing players to work English working laws so united are doing nothing wrong but pissing off people
as ive said before its like fucking a 15 year old English girl who lives in Iceland
the girls parents would be pissed off but its not against the law in iceland
and just on the off topic thing
i seen Giggs goal against Arsenal live on tv and after that goal the treble talk started for the first time and i was over the moon and on an adrenaline rush
the same feeling that i got after kikos gaol against villa last season
i fell in love with the boy then
but dont put all your eggs in machedas basket
this kid could fall apart, what ever happen mark robins?
I personally am worried by the Macheda thing. I sincerely hope he doesn’t start trying to be the big I am. He has a hell of a lot to learn so I will just put it down to his age. When you compare him to say (dare I say it) Ronnie at his age, Ronaldo was the consumate professional. Always putting in extra time at the training ground. I wonder if Kiko does this? Hope he does. IF he does start getting too big he will be out on his fucking ear. Come on lad, knuckle down.
king eric
if he does he does
united have the right man in charge to deal with that
ive read alot about uniteds history and an extraordinary thing i found was united won a trophy or thing after paul ‘big time charlie’ ince got the boot
At least our representatives seem to be very confident in this matter so I’m less worried than I used to be.
This Pogba kid better turn out to be amazing some day
i think the telling point in this,is le havre have yet to submit a complaint just making alot of noise with no back up
King Eric you’re always bang on… Could’nt have put it any better myself. ALWAYS look out for your’s GHTT’s and Giles Oakley’s take on things (no disrespect to others on here) You always nick my lines lol… Bring ‘em on pal
@King Eric, GHTT
Hi guys, have to agree with you King Eric re Macheda.
He does seem to have developed the symptoms that afflicted Kieran Richardson in the past. He seems to be developing a taste for the highlife around Manchester. This i know for fact as i am particularly well placed to know who’s out’n'about most weeks and where.
Couple that with the rumoured fall out with another player on the training ground and there’s cause for concern.
Great start, great potential, but he’s got a way to go before he’s made it at OT.
As for Pogba, the “think” bit by Gill is a little disconcerting!
Thanks Sully. I also completely agree with King Eric. It’s the saddest thing in the world when a brilliant prospect lets it go to their head. There were some warning signs with Kiko celebrating with his mates last season which I had tried to put to the back of my mind. I would like to know more about his clash with Anderson (alleged…) Was it about football matters? Personality clash? Jealousy? Egos?
On the comparison with Mark Robins, I don’t think he fell apart or came off the rails, I think he just didn’t develope his all-round game. I had high hopes of him as he was a very clinical, clean finisher, with that rare ability to ‘pass’ the ball into the net as well as having a good voilley on him. I remember a couple of goals he got at QPR which had me purring. I don’t know if he was given enpough chances to widen his repertoire, as in getting more involved in build-u play and team movements, or if he really just didn’t have what it takes at the highest level. Same with Any Ritchie, who went on to do so well for Oldham.
The stupid 90 minute rule the fa brought in has made it easier for us to get kids from france than it is to kids from london or the west country etc.
As for the french clubs they have no issue bringing in kids from africa do they?
take them all the way gill!
Fuck it! If we get banned, we get banned…Our side/club could deal with that shit better than anyone else!
NightRunner79 hit the nail on the head! Why can’t kids (unproffesional) play for whoever they fucking want!? can they not ‘choose’ to leave! THAT’s the fucking slavery! It’s like your school saying, “You can’t move house/opt for a better school! What about all the shit we taught you! and the movey we spent on teachers!? WTF! Sit down and shut up till we cash in on your graduation!” I should be up to the clubs to try and keep them, and the kids to choose what’s best for themselves. No contracts, no bullshit!
n GHTT – You gotta put a stop to that comment, me local Iceland’s is now brim full of desperate Arsenal fans!
Funny that Chelsea (and Shitteh) have NOW come out and said they followed the ‘rules’!? like us!?
All the clubs could just form one allstar legal team that would slap FIFA about!
UK(USA/Russia/UAE) vs Europe… no contest!
seriously, hopefully our club keeps better company than the blueshites!
fifa are like a bunch of racists against the UK, its like if they collected all the anti ones and put them in one pool. lets face it blatter is a real madrid member which so unfair it makes madrid even more slack 2 just go and make more illegal tapping up scandals in public. look at italy scandel in 2006 milan getting off so lighly juve to be fair were heavily done, the abysmel italians fans, turkish fans stabbing leeds and man utd fans yet nothing is done, madrids nazi fans which should have docked and band them from europe for a year or 2. the list goes on and on and on, what about spanish clubs mysteriously getting african players on their books at early ages. I wonder how lyon get hold of half the africans in their sqauds strange there isnt it.
David Gill is a fine representative for our great club i feel… Im really amused and glad that knobhead kenyon went to frikkin rentboys
That’s exactly what we want to hear from our Chairman ..
Le Harve and Louvel should have more respect toward our club, but then again all french clubs have started to randomly file complaints to english clubs !!
Le Harve – Man Utd
Rennes- The Bitters
Who next?!
Sounds like sour grapes
It seems like too much of a coincidence that these are all french clubs – has this maybe got to do with the fact that Twatini is also french?
Frankly, I’d be happy if we get a ban similar to Chelsea’s. We’ve got a lot of young players that need a chance to shine, and the main core of the team can play for at least a couple of years more, with the exception of Rio perhaps. It could also improve the financial state of the club. Sure, we’ll be weaker compared to other teams but, overall, I think that United would actually benefit from this.
