GNev: Phil Jones Could Be United Captain

Gary Neville has sung the praises of 19-year-old new signing, Phil Jones, claiming that he has the potential to be the captain of United one day.

Speaking with The New Paper from Singapore, our former captain has hailed the performances of Jones in the league for Blackburn, particularly against us on the day we won the 19th title last season.

“I think this lad is going to be a star,” he said. “I think he’s someone who could be a captain of Manchester United in the future. He’s really solid, someone who I think can be a huge player for Manchester United in the next ten years. I think there’s a lot of potential in him. The performances that he’s put in over the past two years in the Premier League, particularly against us, have been outstanding. I think he’s a great signing for us and I think you’ll hear a lot more about him in the next five years.”

we need somebody who wasn’t fucking around to be a captain like g-nev, keano, cantona, vida.

Don’t know if Phil will be United captain. I do think it is important that every lad on this squad has that ability and that drive. We all feel happy with Vida. What a player. But by cricky look who is right behind him, Rio! The same Rio Ferdinand that is former United and England Captain he. We all feel that Rio and then Giggs, Fletcher and even Evra, could step in without any worry whatsoever. Others have that ability for their national sides but may not be called on to be united captain. I am thinking of Park (also Fletcher in particular but also Berbatov who) have the temperament and quality especially for short term. Some would say Wayne, but I think that would be a sanctimonious appointment given recent events.

Every united player should have the poise on an off camera to be a leader. Phil Jones is England U21 Captain, that shows that he has and will continue to develop those skills of leadership. Whether he is United captain or not, those leadership skills will be valued and called upon in a United shirt.

As I keep saying this lad is gonna be a fucking beast. Our new hargreaves but in time more than that. A tough little cunt. Cannot believe some are even worried about this lad.

  10. willierednut says:

Future United capo, no doubt. Everyone that questioned the money we paid for this lad, will be eating their words. Every top 4 club wanted this lad, that should tell you something. Destined for big things.
