The Old Trafford crowd erupted in song for Anderson yesterday ahead of kick-off, with news that he’d been awarded with the Tuttosport Golden Boy. The Italian newspaper award the best talent in Europe, under the age of 21, on a yearly basis. Iv etalked to my Grandpa, who is a massive Inter fan, and he says that its only made up. Tuttosport is the Italian version of Sun. Apparantly Anderson was voted best young talent in Europe and was interviewed by Tutto. They asked him if he liked the Italian League. He answered: “Yes, it is an entertaining league with lots of good players.” Then they asked him which club he thought was the best there. “Inter Milan have got a great chance of winning the league this season because they have a really talented squad and now have one of the best managers in the world there.” Made up stuff from Italy… Typical stuff from papers, isnt it? :rolls:
To be honest, at first I was a bit concerned. I thought the comments came out of the blue, as the place where I read them didn’t have any info on the award.
So with translation in mind and the fact that he won a great Italian award, I will look at it as a very nice, polite acceptance speech and not much more.

Ironically, Ronaldo said in his Ballon D’or speech this afternoon, reports linking him to Inter are rubbish and whatever happened last summer was then and he has no desire to leave. Anderson needs to do the same, otherwise this speculation will continue to grow.

I wouldn’t worry too much and I wouldn’t expect all foreign players to be “United for Life”. if they give of their best while they wear a United shirt and don’t say unwarranted nasty things when they leave then that is all I expect of them. Anderson and nani need to stick with us this year. Second year is always a downer especially for young players as people now know them and how to combat their play. Fergie is developing them, playing them sometimes and sparing them the second season blues. look at Fletcher – fergie has played him selectively for a number of years and now look at him he is arguably our best player so far this season. keep the faith, be thanlkful for the great players we can now see grace the Old Trafford stage and live in the knowledge that when they leave others will follow
ella, well said.We have to wake up and realise foreign players at our club do not necessarily love manchester united. Maybe in 10 yrs time the youth who have grown up watching the current premier league will have similar feelings about the english clubs but 10 yrs ago Italy and Spain were the best leagues in Europe..We need to keep on buying home-grown players, it provides so much stability for our club compared to the likes of Arsenal, carrick, ferdinand, etc are priceless. Ronaldo, Anderson etc are from other countries and can just as easily make the same move, why wouldn’t you try different things if you only have 1 footballing career and you can’t play in your home country?

Secondly, Michael Carrick is the man who makes our midfield tick, Scholes is the most talented midfielder in England and up there with the best that have played in world football, but in the previous 2 seasons it is Carrick who has been there, generally week in, week out and he is our main man right now.
