Owen Hargreaves has returned to training following a long layout after operations to both his knees.
He is set to return to first team action in November and is already counting down the days.
“I can’t wait to get back involved in it all,” said Hargreaves. “I can’t wait to play again for United, to be able to pull on the shirt and have an effect on games. Running out at Old Trafford will be a big thing for me. It’ll be amazing.”
Hargreaves returned to Manchester late last month, along with the physio he worked with throughout his rehabilitation in America.
“The reception I’ve had has been great,” he added. “That was one of the things that I really missed, being with the guys in the dressing room. There’s such a great energy around this club. It’s fantastic being back in with all the different characters and personalities.”

i dont know how long he can get himself ready for another match, because the level is very high, after such a long layoff, it’s very difficult to get the match fitness back.. But Hargo, we need you.

I also can’t wait for him to wear utd shirt again. how frustrating must it have been unable to play for 12 months. hopefully he’ll be like a new signing to us, get to match fitness and get to the form he had in the 07/08 season. and stay injury free. he was horribly missed in key matches last season (dippers at home & CL final notably) and plays great with ando in midfield, I cannot wait to see our midfield boasting fletcher, hargo, ando and nani/valencia in a team line-up.
He will bring back his class, his experience, his brilliant technique at taking freekicks/penos and his versatility. And his curly hair.
Top marks to Hargo for coming back from injury. We need ya mate, don’t let us down.

Fletcher is only quality when he’s not on a yellow card. He’s nowhere near as effective if he’s been cautioned already.

If I had a hat on I would take it off to this man. The drive and self discipline the man must have to fuck off to the states on his own for a YEAR to train and rehabilitate himself is amazing. Everytime people mention our midfielders Carrick seems to be forgotten about. Make no mistake Micheal WILL be another huge reason we get four on the bounce. He just seems to be getting his form back.

Of course, ‘we’ll have to wait for that to happen but anyone who thinks that the pre-January part of the season is anything more than foreplay is clearly not watching the way the manager’s strategy is structured.

I hope everyone can show patience with Hargo when he does come back. He’s been out for a very very long time so it would be damn near impossible for him to come in and be up to the pace right from the start. He will need multiple games to get back to something even resembling his best form, and hell we might not even see it again this year at all.
I just get worried that people are expecting him to come in and be amazing straight away and dominate midfield clashes… Thats just foolish in my opinion.

Come on now, Hargo doesn’t have a chance at winning the SMB trophy in May, he would need to have an amazing season, and until he completes 90 minutes for the first team, I am sceptical that he will be able to return to the level he previously was – coming back from 12 months out and expecting him to dominate games is not realistic… I am looking forward to him playing with Ando though, I think it’s a dynamite combination, and I wish the lad the best for a full recuperation!

dont underestimate the king of midfield.he is a very determined lad and will be back to his best soon .and i am backing him to score quite a few goals too.he will make a big difference to our side.i am backing hargo to help us to get back to our beautiful style of football.he can help us dominate midfields and get stuck in.especially in the big games and CL knockout games.dont rule out anything.he is capable of winning the award because apart from giggsy and probably fletch no player has hit anywhere near top form yet and lot of them have been inconsistent.hargo has a chance

Did he tell you he wudn’t come, every player has his price weve seen that this summer. Regarding miacon rumours, i think were covered at rite back, though he is a top player.
I won’t presume that Barcelona wouldn’t have won if Hargreaves had been starting, but you can be sure that they wouldn’t have had it half as easy. Him and Fletcher would have made them actually work for that cup.
For all the plaudits Barcelona received about being one of the best teams ever, a lot had to be said about our uncharacteristic display that contributed towards that.
