I also wondered about Ferguson's recent comments about his retirement date. Ferguson mentioned in last Friday's celebratory press conference that he would not be around longer than three years. This just so happens to be a year before Ronaldo's current contract is up (in 2012). This could lead to United selling him to Madrid (or, better still, Barcelona, just to piss Madrid off) and there would be no recriminations... Or maybe not! I'll take my cynic hat off now...
