Henriquez Wins The FA Cup

Manchester United striker, Angelo Henriquez, today lifted the FA Cup after the club he is on loan to, Wigan Athletic, beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, Nemanja Vidic, Michael Carrick and Patrice Evra are amongst the United players who have yet to win an FA Cup winners medal.

There had been concerns that Manchester United’s trophy parade on Monday would “overshadow” Manchester City’s success if they won the FA Cup. That is now not an issue.

As someone else in here pointed out – firing Mancini is still ultimately a joke. It’s about continuity, right? :)

Costas – that’s what frustrates me with wigan, on their day, they could beat any team as we found out last season but i agree with you, they’re defensively poor and i hope that doesn’t cost them but i think getting antolin alcaraz back into their line up is a bonus, very good defender and made aguero/tevez look toothless. Wigan can out-play and out pass teams when they get going, i’ve always kept an eye on their results, they rry to play a brand of football that makes it enjoyable and i hope they stay up. I think city definitely underestimated them, turning up and thinking it would be an easy day out but wigan are dangerous opponents, a very unpredictable team governed by a tactically adept manager who isn’t given enough credit for developing players and keeping them up with barely any money. Moyes won’t be underestimating wigan

I actually like the look of james mccarthy in their central midfield, can see why he’s getting linked to united, not many can stand up to yaya toure. Classy display. but mcmanaman made dogs meat out of clichy, always knew that money grabbing cunt was a shit defender at arsenal, he has looked good because city has other solid defenders. he was ran ragged all game long.

Blue moon has locked us out again, fucking spoilsports. To the WUM Red who put the “poznan in front of the telly” post on there, my thanks and respect, It cracked me up. Especially the mob of outraged berties trying to get the mods to shut you down. £500 mil for that mercenary shite, bet Moyesy can’t wait to get started now. 21 coming up.

No comments, just a smug knowledge of, “I TOLD YOU SO!!!’

It’s about time the media stopped referring to the “red half of Manchester” and “blue half of Manchester”. Anyone would think that there were as many City fans in Manchester as there are United fans. Anybody who lives here knows how ridiculous that is.

So can we see more accurate reporting in future about the “red three-quarters of Manchester” and the “blue quarter of Manchester”, and even that’s being generous.

  9. wayne says:

Bobby Manc went with the reserve keeper for all the FA cup games except today, the fucking twat see what bad Karma creates.I hate the overrated odious prick but it’d be better for Utd if he stayed. The cunt has already spent 300mill and have to rebuild again. It really is a fucking joke.

    @Samuel

They are incredibly inconsistent. Especially under Martinez. One minute you think they are nothing but whipping boys and the next they are overcoming a 2-0 deficit to beat Arsenal, they beat United and cost them the title and they beat City in the FA cup final. No way Moyes will underestimate them. Remember how Wigan dumped Everton out on their way to the final. The thing is, if Wigan get relegated, how will that affect their already limited finances. We could face a very different team come August.

  21. wayne says:

Costas Wigan are one of the few teams who live within their means and are in the black,i’m fairly sure no one is on crazy wages.Probably going to lose a few players and Martinez but it won’t be through money issues. If they could keep this team in place must be favorites to come right back up.As someone else mentioned i hope and prey it’s Newcastle and Pardew, would be icing on the cake.

  22. denton davey says:

Wayne @ 00:41: “Probably going to lose a few players and Martinez but it won’t be through money issues. If they could keep this team in place must be favorites to come right back up.”

Maybe; maybe not. The owner is really committed to his club; and, don’t forget that they will get a huge sum in “parachute payments” so it’s not inconceivable that Dave Whelan might be willing to subsidize an experiment and try to get his club promoted with most of the same squad in place, paying them EPL wages for the one year. The big unknown is Martinez – there’s an opening at Everton and he must look like a very likely replacement for Moyes; young, works-on-a-shoestring, beat ManShitty “like a rented mule”.

I was very impressed with the Honduran left-back (Roger Espinoza) and, of course, Calum MacManaman (despite his obscure family ties to the other one of that name). Aruna Kone is another player who puts in a very good shift. I suppose that if Roberto Martinez were to go to Everton then these three guys would be great additions to TheToffee’s squad. Saying that, I sure do hope that Moyes does not have some sort of loyalty to either Leighton Baines or Marouane Fellaini – I think that UTD can do better !

  23. wayne says:

Denton that’s what I meant might lose players through their ambition I’m sure he’ll maintain the same squad if he can.I don’t have issues with either player I rate Baines and I like players who mix it up.Fellaini when in the mood is a right fucking handful, both would improve squad depth imo

  24. denton davey says:

Wayne @ 01:46: “I rate Baines and I like players who mix it up.Fellaini when in the mood is a right fucking handful, both would improve squad depth imo”

Baines is – what ? – 28/29 and he is NOT now a better left back than NinjaEvra; Fellaini is, indeed, “a right fucking handful”. But spending the transfer budget on “squad depth” is not what’s needed.

  25. wayne says:

Denton I’m not saying buy them and of course price is a relative factor in every transfer but would their inclusion improve Utd’s squad imo yes

  26. Jorge Curioso says:

No Fellaini, please. He’s a dirty player who runs very hot and cold. Not United caliber.

  27. Redblood says:

The three Quarter of Manchester is happy and the other quarter is moaning…that had me laughing.
Congrats Wigan for shutting those mercenaries

  29. denton davey says:

Wayne @ 02:28: “their inclusion improve Utd’s squad imo yes”

You will not be surprised that I don’t agree – not because they wouldn’t “improve Utd’s squad” but, rather, because what UTD now need is a real first-rate midfielder to partner MC16.

Consider the transfer for RVP – injury-prone and “too old”, etc. BUT he’s quality and that quality has been crucial in winning # 20.

That’s what’s needed for UTD’s midfield – maybe it can be TheWayneBoy AND MrJones but it sure-as-hell won’t be a third-coming of TheGingerNinja.

A midfield-four of MC16 and TheWayneBoy and MrJones and YoungTom would be like a breath of fresh air. Great versatility and different qualities. Everything old is new again ??????????
