Manchester United finished sixth in the 2018-2019 Premier League season, winning just 19 of the 38 matches they played. As many as 10 defeats hampered the club’s chances of finishing in the top four, which was more than they drew.

Fans of the club were left shocked at the start of the season when Manchester United were beaten by minnows Brighton and Hove Albion in the second game of the season, and this was followed by defeats against the likes of West Ham, Everton and Cardiff.

There’s an old adage in life that you always live to fight another day. One bad season cannot define Manchester United. They are a powerhouse. You cannot write them off. Manchester United will do anything in order to regain their lost glory.

Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his rigorous pre-season preparations, there is some renewed hope for United fans once more, with season tickets again sold out and a waiting list with 100,00 people. There is again the high demand for Manchester United hospitality packages too, with some games already sold out.

But if United are going to keep the supporters happy, they are going to have to be busier in the transfer market than they have been so far, having only signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James. So, who else should they go for?

Paulo Dybala (Juventus)- Forward

The Argentine forward has all the ingredients to become the next big thing in the world of football. He has enjoyed a decent run of form with the Italian giants Juventus, scoring 55 goals over the past three seasons . At present, Manchester United’s attack is possibly the weakest among the big six. He, along with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, could form a formidable forward line.

Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli) – Centre Back

The talented centre back from Napoli can help strengthen the club’s defence, with him providing some much needed experience alongside Victor Lindelof.

Koulibaly had been instrumental in turning Napoli’s fortunes last season. Napoli finished second in the League standings, 11 points behind Juventus. The 28-year-old from Senegal helped Napoli keep 14 clean sheets last season.

Harry Maguire (Leicester City) – Centre Back

Harry Maguire has been linked with a move to United for some time, with Jose Mourinho first alerting the club to the defender last summer. Leicester City’s management has repeatedly stated that the club is not interested in selling Maguire, but Solskjaer is keen on the Englishman. At 26, Harry can help address the club’s woes and still has his best years ahead of him. They’ve been trying to get hold of a reliable centre back and Harry might just be the perfect fit.

Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) – Winger/Forward

Zinedine Zidane has repeatedly made it clear that Real Madrid have no place for the 30-year old. Zidane has brought in Eden Hazard to boost the club’s attack, leaving Bale’s future in jeopardy. Under such circumstances, Bale can consider moving to Manchester United, although Ed Woodward may be keen to avoid sanctioning such a high salary for someone in their 30s, especially after seeing how badly Alexis Sanchez has performed for the club.
