You may have played in the game against Wolves, like me, but closed the window before the end of the game. This means your points, like mine, won’t have been registered. D’oh.
Fortunately, now that PickLive are our partners, they’ve kindly offered to refund that game to any of you who closed the window if you get in touch with michaelATpickliveDOTcom (obviously change AT and DOT to symbols).

City Preview: Will It Be Memorable Or Diabolical?
http://www.theunitedreligion.com/2011/02/city-preview-will-it-be-memorable-or.html
gents Question for you? who are the only pair of brothers, to face each other in a manchester derby. any ideas.
How many were there at Selhurst park when our Captain was sent off? Giles was one, who else?
Mathew Simmons was the skin head who taunted our hero as he walked down the entire length of the sideline. Looks like he is still being a pest at matches. Now at his kids games!!!!

ScotttheRed,
Maybe we could have a discussion of the recent report from Deloitte on Unites financial picture.
Seems like the company is still raking it in, but the TV contract might need rethinking.

Prem has 7 in the top earners!
But United retain 3rd place behind Virus and Barca due to ownership of TV rights.
Fuckin city club with a small mentality.

i know its off topic, but its really pleasing to see scholes as well as past man utd players being recognised by another top, top player.
Paul Scholes receives special praise: ‘In the last 15 to 20 years the best central midfielder that I have seen — the most complete — is Scholes. I have spoken with Xabi Alonso about this many times. Scholes is a spectacular player who has everything.
‘He can play the final pass, he can score, he is strong, he never gets knocked off the ball and he doesn’t give possession away. If he had been Spanish then maybe he would have been valued more.’
‘Rooney, Scholes, Cesc (Fabregas), Nasri and Giggs,’ he says, adding: ‘I was also a big fan of John Barnes, Chris Waddle and Matt Le Tissier. And although it is a different style, I liked the Paul Ince and Roy Keane partnership Manchester United had. They would have been my team had I moved to England.’

If rooney scores an injury time winner tomorrow, would you forgive him???
@jeet
The thing with rooney is that he used to have this icon status where many of us thought him to be a successor to giggsy, scholesy, gnev in taking the responsibility , which in turn made many of us ignore most of his bad run everytime and support him because of that icon status
Now after what happened he turned out to be any other player at united albeit with world class talent and people started to take notice of how bad he can be
As before now he is not able to getaway with such a form and that won’t change.now, if he scores a last min winner like Owen did last year he will be appreciated or if he doesn’t perform well he can’t getaway with that as it used to be before this season
To simple put.Rooney is no special to me he is as good as.his play on the pitch, and I don’t see the name.on the back of our jersey before supporting players I will only see the MUFC
badge on the chest
ancha – yes, agree with you about us ignoring rooney’s faults. Ive got a confession to make – I’ve always throught rooney to be overhyped by the british media. Not unlike, say, the way Bale is being overhyped. Top player, no doubt, but white pele? To be honest, I never thought so.
To rephrase my prev post
” support the badge and the shirt before going for names”
It.looks like we have signed certain Belgian Beckham from anderlecht on a four year contract with 120k per year and expected.to make rapid strides
Any further info about this lad?
Ancha – here is the link. Kid called Adnan Januzaj. It’s on doubtful souirces like Mirror and tribalfootball, and frankly, I dont believe it for a moment.

The biggest derby in years in terms of the title and barely anything in terms of blogs, come on chaps
@mattbw7
Here is one for you and for all on Derby eve, nice read on our noisy neighbours
http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2011/02/11/2346551/everything-city-do-united-do-better-lifting-the-lid-on-the
Cheers Ancha, a good read but I did mean on here.
According to reports, Fletch could miss the derby due the eye injury he sustained against Villa and an aggravated ankle problem that forced him to miss the Scotland friendly this week. I hope he is ready for it since on his day, he can help us win the midfield battle tomorrow. The eye thing sounds a bit weird. I hope it’s not another case of blurred vision.
I wouldnt be too worried about Fletch, TBH, if Ando/Carrick/Scholes are on song. And if Park is back, he could play the Fletch role as well.
Lads, seen this?
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-city/8317283/Manchester-City-order-closure-of-groundsmans-Facebook-site-after-attack-on-Manchester-United-on-eve-of-derby.html
Some no-mark cunt City groundsman posts foul and abusive material about United on his facebook page.
What do the club do?… Tell him to shut the page.
Pathetic. If that was Utd, I’m willing to bet he’d be sacked, or at least suspended from duty. But then I doubt a Utd groundsman would be classless enough to do that kind of stupid shit in the first place.
off topic
xavi jst metioned he’d love rooney at barca and that scholes has been the best central mid for the last 20years. Cool, so i hope they can do something tomorrow especially the overpaid no.10
Rio and Evans out of the derby. Chicho hasnt returned yet. Wont be a part of the squad
Here are the main points from Sir Alex’s press conference:
“Rio Ferdinand is out for a couple of weeks with a calf injury and Jonny Evans got injured training with Northern Ireland, so Chris Smalling will play. I’m sure he’ll do well.
“Chicharito returns at lunchtime today after being in the States with Mexico.
“It’s a derby game and an important game in the championship race, for both teams, so it will make for an interesting match.
“We made mistakes in the 4-3 last season, and so did they. Our home form’s been outstanding this season and we hope that continues tomorrow. We go into the game with confidence because of our home form.
“[After losing from Wolves] our focus shifts from the unbeaten run to winning the league, which is always the name of our game.”
So Rio will miss the Marseille away game. That’s a real worry. And yeah, we do have Smalling, but if he proves to be unready for the big tests that lie ahead, there’s always Wes Brown you know…I’d prefer to see him partner Vida more than O’Shea or Carrick.
Chicharito is a blow for tomorrow in case we need a goal late in the game. Hopefully we won’t. At least we have Mikey Owen.
No mention of Fletch, so I take it that he is ok.
So they glazers reign looks to be over!!!!
Big test for Smalling tomorrow. At least we know with 100% certainty that City will be lining up in their usual 4-5-1, so there’ll only be the one central striker to occupy the CBs. We all know who that will be, and I’m sure Vidic will be on troll duty tomorrow, which hopefully will take the pressure off Smalling a bit.
So, I’m guessing at
VDS
Rafael
Rio
Smalling
Evra
Park
Fletcher
Carrick
Nani
Rooney
Berba
Thoughts?
My predicted line up would be like this:
VDS – Rafael, Vidic, Smalling, Evra – Nani, Anderson, Fletcher, Park – Rooney, Berbatov
If Fergie wants to include Carrick to offer the back 4 more protection, Fletch could play on right wing with Nani on the left and Park on the bench.
I’d love to see everyone’s opinion on this =)

Costas
Anderson/Fletcher?
Not sure Fergie often pairs them as a midfield duo. It tends to be Ando/Carrick, Fletcher/Carrick, or anyone/Scholes.
Still, you never can second guess our central midfield these days, so who knows?!
You confident for tomorrow?
@kanchelskis
I actually want to seem them together for once. I don’t recall them having a bad game as a partnership. They played together in the 4-3 win last season and I wouldnt say it was their fault that we conceded 3 goals. But yeah, who knows? Can’t imagine Fergie not starting either Carrick or Scholes to be honest.
Not too confident about tomorrow due to Rio’s absence and 1-2 players playing international games this week. But then again, I am alwats pessimistic about our games. On our day, and with out OT form, we should beat them. What about you?
Hell!!!! Gambling not allowed in my country!!!

Don’t know if this is true, but if it turns out to be a real deal, I’ll be left with the moral dilemma:
- More then happy to see the Glazers out , long has been the time that the blood of our vclub has been sucked out for personal reasons ( see Vardar FK in Macedonia ). Nothing against the Jewish people, I’m part Jewish myself by my paternal grandmother.
- But I would hate to see our club turning into what Chavski, Shitty, and Looserpool lately, we are a family club where local lads and brothers(twins included) get the chance to be the greatest, to play for the club that they have always supported with the Red blood running through their veins, and my fear is that by being bought by an insanely rich billionaires that will change, maybe not until Fergie is in charge, but after it the change seems possible.
Costas
I really don’t know. Like Fergie says, our home form has been outstanding this season – only dropped 2 points there if I remember correctly, and that was freakishly to WBA.
On that basis, we should be confident, but the loss of Rio is a big one (although he had a ‘mare in this fixture last season).
Basically, it depends on our big game players having big games. If Rooney, Berbatov and Nani play to the best of their abilities, we should win.
@ kanchelskis: mate I read that article. City are fuckin twats with no class. Imagine one of our groundsmen doin something like that after Sir Alex told everyone not to. Jesus if Fergie said no, no one in our club would ever do that. Just shows what a small club city are. Lets beat them saturday and strengthen our position at the top. COME ON YOU REDS!!
Say what league is this? lol why wud anyone call it the pickers? pick what duh?
