Just coz he is at United… doesnt mean he has made it.. “You never make it at united”… only when you end your career at OT.. then you can sit back and think “Yeh i made it”… but not now… and he needs to go back to basics… work hard, and show SAF that he is worthy of regular games..
He is good enough… but he is consistently inconsistent… and that is the most annoying thing about Nani… and at the moment i am afraid he doesnt come close to having “The X Factor”.
Ps… if this Serbian kid comes into the frame Jan… and if he takes his chance like little Rafael, then Nani might have a problem on his hands..

Our whole style of play has deterioratd like fuck without quiroz, serious lack of invention.
Last seaon was his first at the club, 30 odd appearances in both europe and the league, 4 goals, 15 assists….2nd highest in the squad.
The boy proved his is consistant enough last season but this yr he hasnt been givn a chance to get going. period.

Nani’s temperament aint exactly good as well.. ie the sending off at the last home game of last season again the hammers… that was acting at the worst level as well..

There is only a handful of players i can say that have made it at OT that are in the current squad…
Scholes, Giggs, Neville… they have been consistent for over a decade, bar the last season or so…
In my eyes… RIo, Evra, and Vidic…are up there… but you can also see there desire not to let there standards slip… still see and here the hunger from them…

YES he has fantastic ability… YES he has great pace… YES he is brilliant on his day… BUT… to be classed as a United great… and to be worshipped by us lot… NANI needs to be consistent… which unfortunately he isnt… he wasnt last season.. he isnt this season… and i hope that the kid really proves me wrong….. if he has anything about himself he would…
At the moment though… i really think that Ashley Young would be an awesome bit of business for us… but cannot see that happening… as we have got the 2 serb kids signing… one a left winger and the other an attacking wide right player…
If SAF was that happy with Nani… why go and buy a new left winger??

Spot on Failsworth. The kid has lots (lots!) of ability, but it seems he´s learned nothing in the 20 or so months he´s been with us. If he gets his head in order he could be massive for us.

In my opinion Nani is not a United player. His attitude alone is not right and everytime he has played this season he just frustrates and disappoints me. Thought he would have proggresed a lot more in time he has been here. Also too much emphasis placed on the departure of CQ. While i admit he was an excellent coach we just need to play our game and the goals and results will come. If not try and get him back in Summer!
Nani played pretty much exactly how I expected him to last season, and was used in exactly the way SAF was predicted to handle him as a youngster in his debut season.
What I can’t fathom, however, is why he hasn’t played anywhere near enough games this season. Perhaps the Queiroz factor isn’t there any more to persuade SAF to make the right changes at the right time (given our 14 corners yesterday, God knows we could’ve done with his delivery!).
I don’t believe for a second he think’s he’s “made it”. OK, so he’s a bit of a joker behind the scenes, but surely his desire to learn the lingo to make sure he isn’t left out of squad proceedings shows at least some hunger? OK, so he does try stuff that doesn’t always come off, but Ronaldo at 21 was doing the same thing and ‘getting away with it’ (so to speak) because there simply wasn’t a replacement for him. Nani has Park and Giggsy to contend with.
People complain about consistency, but you only get that with a run of games and if he gets that, I’m sure we’ll see him back to his best.
Nani needs a good run of games . Thats plain n simple. everyone remember how we got slated for playing Ronaldo ‘ the one trick pony’ week in week out in 03-06 just coz we had no other replacements.
I dont mean that Nani will turn out to be as good as Ronny coz footballers like him are one off but atleast the kid’s got Real talent n should be preffered over Park n Giggs imo. Wish we win the WCC n get some wind in our sails for the next year coz we need it badly if we have to win anything meaningful next year. (Apart from Mickey Mouse Cup)

he’s better than park and I know park has improved but he’s probably one of the most infuriating united players we’ve ever had, consistently tring to bumble through tackles, moments of decent stuff blitzed out of memory by all the crap…I thought nani was working back well against aalborg and was trying a lot harder, i think he should get a run in the united team because working back seems to be the only reason why we play Park ‘slipping is my forte’ ji-sung every week
To be honest I do not think nani is anywhere near the same level Ronaldo was at his age…coz Ronaldo is just a supremely sublime talent. nani is a very good player, don’t get me wrong, he just cant be compared to ronaldo at the same age however…
he doesnt need to be better than ronaldo just darren “i’m useless” fletcher and ji “i’ll make a curved run not to get to the ball” park. later in the game giggs can come on for him.

Don’t agree with that comment at all, Fletcher has been one of our most improved and consistent midfielders this season. When players like Ronaldo have gone missing in games Fletch has stepped up and played well in my opinion, and scored a couple of goals to get us out of the shit.
