Unbelievably, in this Carlsberg advert ahead of the Liverpool vs United game last year, Liverpool fans are seen chanting “Munich!”
This video is taken from Part of the Game website, something which Carlsberg launched and hailed as “probably the best online TV channel celebrating football”. It claims it is “Carlsberg’s tribute to all the people putting their love of football in to play in the stands, in the pub and at home.”

After contacting Part of the Game website, they were quick to respond: Not being English we wouldn’t have found out about the meaning of the chanting otherwise as it occurs in the background of an interview and is difficult for us to understand. I’m obviously very sorry about this and totally agree with your views. We were not aware of the chanting and I deeply regret any offence it might have caused.

Its not on and I personally don’t think we should sit here quietly and let it happen. For every Hillsborough and Turkey chant theres 30 Munich ones. I went to both the dipper and leads games and there were away fans on coaches doing aeroplane signals one a middle aged woman!
This has riled me up and I’m just going to take it out in voice tomorrow, stuck a fiver on United to win 3-1. We’re in East Stand so the atmosphere should be cracking. United Spurs games are always entertaining I don’t see it being any different tomorrow but please lets not go behind first this time!!!

ya. keeping bale quiet will be difficult for nev. Lennon may come on in the last 20 mins if needed. We have had quite a few 1-0 wins over them in the past 3-4 years. If it stays that way the last 10 minutes will be very nervy. I just hope that the boost we got last weekend and the home support will be enough spur us on to a comfortable win rather than a nervy one. Early kick offs havent been great for us but last week changed it all
Having that in a proper advertising is shameful. It’s of course incredibly disrespectul to chant stuff like that at all, but, to be fair, the way some of our lot chant “Murderers” is equally bad.
